I ordered a couple of waffles on Uber eats for my boyfriend and I and we both love it. I got far too many smarties. ☺️😇😊

We knew we weren’t coming here for gourmet food but my wife and I went wanted to fill our sweet hole after enjoying an evening meal down the road. The facility is fairly large, bigger than most dessert places. It wasn’t quite like a nightclub but it was a little unclean. Some of the tables had spillages and the place looked a bit ropey. Baskin Robbins sell a selection of ice creams, desserts, bakery items and drinks, as well as celebration ice cream cakes. The lady that served us was patient whilst we hummed and hawed on what to get. I had a look at the bakery items but they didn’t look very appealing, appearing artificial and lacking the allure of freshness. We ended up choosing a couple of warm desserts. I caved in and my greedy belly also decided to get one of the stacked shakes. The lady was nice enough but a subtle inconsistency in service emerged when we noticed that, despite the quick preparation of our order, we had to fetch it at the counter while others enjoyed table service. While not a major concern, maintaining service continuity would have enhanced the overall experience. The desserts themselves were not bad. The ice creams were sweet and maybe too sweet to distinguish the flavours. The brownie was gooey and quite tasty. The cake I got was drenched in caramel sauce which was probs a bit excessive but it tasted ok. The desserts were served on fancy plates but strangely we could only get wooden cutlery. By this point it was confirmed that a stacked shake was unnecessary so we had it on the road. It’s difficult to review because are tummy’s were bursting but the shake was still quite enjoyable. It was filled with ice cream, cookies, chocolate and other sweetness, sending my blood sugar through the roof. Ending the night in a food coma is not advisable, unless you don’t mind having an awful sleep. Overall 3 stars is very fair. It was reasonable priced and the food and service was satisfactory. Will we come again, unlikely.

Another hidden gem just near the parliament on Holyrood road. Great portion size and staff and service are 5 star class. Parking outside is very hard to find but put this on your next stop when in Edinburgh!!!!

I've walked into this establishment today, aiming to purchase some ice cream. It was completley empty, and for a reason, I've found. I said hello to the girl working there, got nothing back. She completely ignored me, staring at her mobile phone!? I thought, ok I'll have a look at the ice creams, maybe she'll serve me soon, but no, she kept typing on her phone. Another worker appeared from somewhere, she was also on her phone. Lol, then I decided to use the restroom and leave. I'm not giving my money to this place. The ice creams looked average and artificial anyways.

Really bland, been twice and tried different flavours. Get a gelato instead

You know what? I had a milkshake there and it was quite nice! Not super sweet, just right! Depending on the flavors you want, you can have one for as little as 3 pounds. I had a regular size (which was quite big for a regular!) and it cost me around six pounds. They also have ice cream, hot beverages and bites to eat, which I'll certainly try soon. Nice staff too. The one who was with me didn't rush me at all and was (not surprisingly) a lovely person. Worth a try!

Milkshakes are really good but a bit pricey.

Having just walked up to Arthur’s Seat in the brilliant heat, we needed to cool down. We luckily walked passed Basking Robbins and decided to get a milkshake. It tasted brilliantly and did the job of cooling us down! The service was fantastic.

I don’t think a lot of people know this is here because it is quite hidden and out of the way but it’s a great place for kids with delicious ice cream and desserts and I recommend the banana royale. Service was a bit slow but an enjoyable experience.

Went the other week with a couple of friends and we were served by Victoria, I think she’s the manager? But she was great, so friendly and attentive. We had a really tasty waffle and some delicious ice cream. The atmosphere was just right! I personally loved the music they played!! Would recommend to anyone visiting edinburgh!

Went into the Baskin Robbins on a busy night with my kids but they were so kind and took the time to help us choose! Had waffles and ice - cream each, it was so lovely. Very clean and nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back for sure!

Went on Easter Monday around noon with two children under 10. We were the only people in. Reasonable service, kids loved their ice cream but the two young people working there continued with their preferred loud music choices which included explicit material (sexual themes, swearing) despite the age of my children. It didn't go unnoticed. It doesn't really matter how good the ice cream is if the environment isn't child friendly.

Have just left this wee gem of an ice cream parlour. Had a toffee banana sundae with all the bits. My companion had the toffee banana waffle, both glorious. We were very well looked after by the lovely Eve, who - even though she wore a mask - smiled the whole time she was looking after us. Thank you Eve.

Best pistachio Almond ice cream on the planet. Go get a Megabucket!

Enjoyable Dessert Ambiance was very nice and clean. Options are very good on sundaes, crepes and cakes. Ice cream was so fresh and delicious. Kids really enjoyed their visit to Baskin Robbins. COVID rules well followed. Highly recommend this place and also We will visit again to this place.

We ordered a delivery from Deliveroo. It took nearly an hour to get to us. The banana split was awful. It had about a centimetre of fake cream at the bottom and was FULL of strawberry sauce. It didn’t look appetising either. Very disappointing

Went to the one on Holyrood Road in Edinburgh. At about 8.30pm 3 staff on, had to wait 10 minutes before anyone would say hello or look our way. When we ordered it took another 5 minutes standing infront of staff for them to acknowledge that we wanted served. We got 2 hot drinks a Sunday and banana split. The drinks were stone cold the ice cream had been melted then refreezed as there were lots of ice crystals within the ice cream, the banana split had mimimul topping on and they didn't bother asking what topping we wanted. The staff didn't seem to want to be there and were too busy looking at their online orders to help the little customers they did have or tidy up tables. My first experience in baskin robbins hasn't been the best.

Ordered a warm dessert on Just eat - waited for nearly 75mins (initial time was half an hour) only the cake turned up and it wasn't even warm! 😡🤬No ice cream. No nuts. No sauce. Nothing. Can't get through to shop and Just Eat bad to complain through!

Nice cookie layer sundae & cookie layer shake, and pretty reasonably priced too. The place wasn't too busy either, so lots of space to socially distance. They might want to change the music being played in the place though - the rap was quite loud & riddled with F-bombs, which isn't really suitable when there are families with young kids in on a Saturday afternoon.

We walked in and waited......... And waited. Sat down, got up and joined the queue. No one serving customers, only serving just eat and deliveroo. Pointless, walked out!!!!!!!

Lovely presentation of desserts! I thought it was very good customer service that when dining-in the staff provided an at-seat service if the order was not ready straight away. The downside for me on this occasion was the toppings on my Crepe were too much and made it very sickly. I really like sweet stuff but I think even this was too much for me 😖 Next time I think I will stick with ice cream ☺️

Great selection of ice cream at least 31 different flavours the idea being that a customer could have a different flavour every day for a month . One of my favourites being Pralines and cream

Clean, spacious & welcoming Located on the main road and so easy to find. There's no on site parking or adjacent parking facilities; but there's an NCP parking lot on the road opposite, but on Sunday we found free parking nearby. Rest room facilities are also available, but just for customers. Ice cream was delicious & quantity per scoop was more generous than compared to most other places! And the waffle cone was scrumptious also. Lots of options, both in flavours but also ice creams vs. sundaes vs. shakes as well as brownies, waffles and hot and cold drinks. Decor felt a bit typically American; 70s nostalgia!? Staff were polite, helpful and welcoming Overall, very impressed by the BR in Edinburgh!

Love ice cream and there is a lot of choices here. Not the best ice cream but the whole experience is easy and seating is nice.

Only let down by very slow service. I'm guessing they most have had a problem as we were only table in. They did apologise but didn't explain the delay. Waffles, crepes and milkshakes were worth the wait though.

On a visit to Edinburgh last year my kids enjoyed the ice cream so we thought we’d pay a return visit. Last time the service wasn’t amazing but this time it was truly awful. Waited at the ‘someone will seat you sign’ for ages whilst one team member was busy with a delivery (fair enough!) and the second one was behind the counter. They both made eye contact on a number of occasions but just left us stood there with no attempt made to speak to us. A quick “we’ll be with you in a minute” would have been fine. We eventually asked if we could sit down and was just answered ‘yes’ and that was it. Very limited selection of ice cream - when we asked if they had more, we were told that they’d just had a delivery but what was on display was all that was available. We left as it was such a disappointing experience. No customer service whatsoever and it really appeared that the team didn’t want to be there.

Quantity over quality. Loads of options on an overly complicated menu. Glad I tried the brand to say I have but I'll never go back to.one again. Girls working the shift gave their all on what was a clearly busy night but the ice cream is just sub par.

Wandered in after a big meal craving something sweet and we weren’t disappointed. The girl who served us was lovely. Ended up ordering way too much and spending a fortune but we couldn’t complain as it was amazing!

I took my kids in at the start of the week. We waited by the table at the door that said someone would deal with us shortly- no one said a word or so much as looked at us the entire time we were in. Two staff members behind the counter moving at a glacial pace and making no effort what so ever to deal with customers. Eventually let the kids go up to see the ice cream flavours. The woman ahead of me was straining to get the attention of the staff to obviously try and get some service for her and her kids too. There was one table seated, so by no means busy. Staff only seemed to be making delivery orders (still at the slowest pace possible) and ignored all the walk ins completely. I eventually had to pull my upset kids out and go elsewhere. By that point, there were about 3 groups behind us in the queue with not a single order taken the whole time we were in the shop. This was definitely nothing to do with the pandemic- just terrible service and seems to be a long standing issue going back to the store opening from looking at other reviews. Is it really that hard to hire staff who actually want to be there and know how to serve an ice cream?

Waffles were nice, although was a bit disappointed as came home to find out we were given the wrong ice cream flavours and wasn’t given a straw for the milkshake.

Abaolutely diabolical NON-EXISTENT customer service. Clearly ignorant students employed here. This was my first experience at BR - I went twice in 2 days. The first day i arrived with only a group of 2 people together being served. Yet it took 15 minutes for me to even be acknowledged by staff and a total of 20 minutes just to get 2 scoops of an ice cream. There wad only a total of 4 people in the shop so far from busy. The 2nd day i went and there was 1 staff member too busy wiping down tables and ignoring the 1 customer in the shop ready to pay for 1 scoop of icecream. Clearly doesnt understand that the customer is a priority in a customer service job. Idiots.

Can't fault the ice cream but 4 *s only because of slow service and milkshake not like semi-solid ice cream so it could stay cold for longer.

The food is good but took ages to prepare

...that's how long you have to wait to get served! Never seen such slow service with one server just walking around like a ghost looking lost. Not worth the time you have to waste to get served and then wait for your ice cream - what takes so long ?!

Always love to eat BR (Baskin Robin) ice cream for Dessert all the year - Summer - Fall - Winter - Spring. The Chocolate Ice cream is a must to eat for chocolate lover, and other flavor also good like the mint flavor, bubblegum flavor, cookies n cream, pistacio, berrys, etc.

Short staff poor service .when you are waiting in a queue the delivery drivers just go straight to the front and ask for their order .terrible system

Ice cream is alright, lots of flavors to try but crazy artificial taste. Also on deliveroo there is an 'option' on the 3 scoop one to get a waffle cone for 50p extra but you have to tick yes on that and pay more whether you want to or not :(

I placed an order at 21.30 for a delivery with just eat Baskin robins confirmed my order and stated it would be around 45 minute for delivery which I was fine with but did think it was a bit strange as it said they closed at 22.00 so I waited and waited for an update on the tracking and eventually got an update saying I would receive the delivery at 10.39, so yet again I waited and waited and then at 10.52 tried to call the restaurant but got no answer so I contacted just eat and the contacted the restaurant, I then got an update the the order was finally on its way, I eventually got my order at 23.15 at night which should have been 3 medium milkshakes (which were for my kids that are now up past there bedtime waiting on them) and a cotton candy crazy waffle costing me a total of £30.90, but what I actually received was 3 very small milkshakes and a dry waffle with a drizzle of chocolate sauce and a few smarties but the description says.... waffle with cotton candy ice cream, chocolate eggs, caramel and chocolate toppings and cream. Absolutely shocking service and even more shocking what they had the cheek to send me after waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes. I will be personally calling to speak to a manager today when they open.

We had the audacity to try at enter at 12 noon, their opening time... alas the door was locked. The “keen & enthusiastic” 🤥 staff member appeared a short time later to open the door. Order taken to the tune of £12, no problems, server very knowledgeable of the vast menu. Card machine not working, not a big deal, I’ve got some cash luckily. I had a warm chocolate chunk cookie with ice cream and butterscotch sauce. Cookie was burnt in the middle, brick hard almost chipped a tooth. Other than that the rest wasn’t bad. Sherbet ice cream drink was also quite nice! Just fell short of the 5 star treatment...

Went in just before closing, drove all the up from Glasgow to have a nice dessert and was absolutely horrified and not only the presentation of the desserts but the quality of it aswell. Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Looks like I’ll be staying in Glasgow mate. Waste of Money. The staff was lovely though !!

My order was a crepe and it was cold on delivery. I tried to eat it but it was nasty and when I called them and explained the crepe was cold they hung up on me. Very very poor experience

No offered toppings, sauce smeared over everything. Lengthy wait for 2 sundaes so hot sauce solidified. Disappointing service & food for the price.

Regular customer come every week with the kids so know the portion size. This time is was allot smaller for each person and when mentioned it to staff, she said it was the standard size. Would have preferred a full scoop in each cup, they could have easily accomdated but choose not to.

Ordered a banana split and brownie sundae from here. We made it perfectly clear that there were to be no almonds or cherries on the banana split, as my fiancée was allergic to almonds. The banana split arrived and it was coated with them. This isn't the first time this has happened. Phoned both the restaurant and Just Eat about this. No answer from either party. It's an absolute disgrace. Whatever you do, do not order from this place. If they get your order wrong, and you wish to complain, I can personally guarantee they WILL NOT respond to your phone calls.

Amusingly, recieved no customer service at all. Entered at 8.30pm. We were the only customers. We said hello to the staff and didn't even recieve a glance from any of them. There was smoke in the air, but the staff didn't seem concerned about it. They were talking amongst themselves. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited for 2 mins. Still no acknowledgement so we walked out. Think the staff may need to be rebooted.

Prices to high for what you get

My favourite ice cream parlour! I recommend trying unusual ice cream flavours, because these make this place. Sometimes you have to wait in a queue, but the food is definitely worth the wait!

Great deserts but the worst service there is just a few young girls makeing the deserts you can wait up to 40 min for ur order this place needs at least 10 staff not 4

Waited for 15mins at the front of the queue with 3 children for ice-cream, while four staff members ignored us, we were not even acknowledged at any point.

They need to focus on reading proper when ordering from either uber app or just eat always mess it and charge extra for nothing

No too shabby, portion was a bit too big for me after my dinner, but can't be giving marks down for being filled up, good job troops.

Sorbet was really nice,place looks really clean. And staff are helpful and polite.

As always BR ice cream is good and will always continue to support. The service in Edinburgh store is good not as amazing as the store in Aberdeen though, staff are nice but I wouldn't reccomend the pancake/waffle desserts my view is the staff may need more training in cooking waffles, I do love the amazing selection of flavours. The store is not in the best location, it's always quiet had it been near the west end/ Lothian road would be very busy.

Debido a COVID - 19, decidimos pedir un par de helados de Baskin Robbins. Pedimos a través de deliveroo y el helado llegó a tiempo, lo cual fue genial. Sin embargo, pagamos un poco menos de 7 cada uno por los helados, elegimos el helado con una cobertura y un almíbar y también pagamos la entrega, por tanto dinero esperábamos una porción generosa de un helado de alta calidad. Elegí helado de vainilla con salsa aero de menta triturada y caramelo de caramelo, pero me decepcionó mucho recibir solo 1 cucharada de helado, 3 bolas aerodinámicas y una capa de jarabe en el fondo de la tina de cartón. . . . . . . ¡PARA 7! ! ! ! ¡Qué estafa absoluta! No volveré a Baskin Robbin, ¡o debería decir Baskin Robbers! nunca más y no los recomendaré a ninguno de mis amigos. Ojalá hubiera tomado una foto para mostrar el lamentable esfuerzo de un helado.

I ordered a Sundae for £7 and they delivered a single scoop of ice cream and some sauce. They were unapologetic and even sarcastic, and stood by this being a Sundae. It’s not like any Sundae I’ve ever seen. It’s a scoop of ice cream and sauce for £7.

Always AMAZING order. We ordered their Happy 4U (Mix and Match) and it was simply delightful. Quick service and nice quick ice cream pitch.

We were very excited about our family visit to Baskin Robbins. The choice of ice cream flavours was amazing and so were the portions. Too big for majority of people to finish. Unfortunately ice cream was not nice at all...more of the sugar, fat and colour rather than flavour. Given the choice of amazing UK ice cream producers I think I will stick to a more natural local produce.

DESSERTS THAT HITS THE SPOT It was extremely quiet for a Sunday evening which was actually a great thing. Was able to get served immediately. Never seen so many deliveroo drivers congregating in the same area. Got the waffle which tasted fairly sweet but was quite thick and heavy. Personally, I needed to share this with someone to finish the waffle. The waffle was a decent base for the ice cream, toppings and sauce. Highly recommend the salted caramel ice cream. What's great about this place is the vast selection of different ice cream, the various cakes and pastries, the smorgasbord of different toppings, and the decent prices. Its awesome that you can personalize your dessert to quite a high degree. It's a great place if you need a big hit of sugar and just sugar!

The service was on par with the terrible milk shakes we had, to be fair we took them back and the staff admitted they were not as they should be and made us two new ones. This was our first and last visit to b r.

Flavours were fine but the service was awful. Sorry, they kids were pumped but really, it was awful.
