The night I went, none of the waiters spoke Spanish (not a big deal, either). I ordered some "Colombian" empanadas. Besides, they were poorly fried, had no potatoes or stew, were just meat, and didn't taste good. Besides, they were very expensive for what they are. The music was great.

Electric latino muchachos, great place to hangout with some friends, enjoy a few drinks, plays some fine electronic latino and south American music to beat your mood high.

I made a reservation at 1 pm, when we arrived they informed us that they had some delays in the kitchen, and that the orders would take between 30-45 minutes, the options were, either they leave or have something to eat in the meantime, we decided to wait 30-45 minutes, and after 50 minutes they received our order, 35 minutes later the order arrived at the table (1 hour and 25 minutes). If a reservation is made, enough time in advance should try to prevent any delays from happening, if something happens, they should try to solve it in a better way. Good food, lacked a little flavor, for my taste.

I went there to celebrate my birthday and it was very good! The food tastes great, and I have to say this caipirinha brought the taste of home. There’s a dance floor and the DJ had a good selection of latin musics. The only detail is about places to seat, I had a reservation for 12 people and we couldn’t be seated just on one table because don’t had enough space, and there’s just 2 tables where people can seat to eat. Definitely recommend for a great latin night!

We were waiting about 50 minutes for our meal to come while our friends got their meal 30 minutes before us, we cancelled the meal and ordered a starter and just one have been sent . So we were waiting another 30 minutes for the starters . My friend class had something weird on the bottom. Service doesn’t know how to deal with a complaints. Kitchen so slow even if that was only one table . Food so fatty. Definitely not recommend

I am from Panama living in Edinburgh and I have been searching for authentic Latin food and despite having tried a couple of places, none like this!!! From the moment you arrive you feel at home. The music, the service, and the food WOW. Delighted with everything. And my husband who is a Scottish local loved everything too. Recommended.✨🇵🇦 *Please appreciate this paisa tray*🤤

Wow! Great flavors, great service! Rolled into town late (for full-service restaurants) - starving. Sat down at the bar at 10:29. Friendly barkeep greets with a smile and asks if I may want something off the main menu because the entire menu generally available til 10:30 (smaller bar menu available til 2am). I say yes. He says he'll let the kitchen know so I can order the entire menu. Great service. Asked what kind of beer I was thinking about. Tonight, lager. Without blinking, grabbed a sample. Done! Ordered Bandeja Paisa. Rice. Beans. Sunny egg. Homemade sausage. Spiced meat. Chicarrone. Plantains. Was genuinely surprised how good it was. Great flavors. Seasoned perfectly! Got some rice and beans for a 2am snack ;) Try it out!

Service was amazing and the food tasted like heaven, would recommend 100%. The sancocho was delicious and the Bandeja Paisa so yummy. Drinks and good music were a plus! We will go back before returning home to Puerto Rico.

The food they sell here has nothing to do with Latin American food, the flavor has no comparison, I went a few days ago and the empanadas were leaking oil everywhere, nothing was flavored and not to mention the chili, if what they serve can be called chili, we also ordered the tray paisa, what they serve is not even a fifth of the Colombian tray paisa, the atmosphere is good and good music, speaking of the food, their chef has to change.

Baruno is an amazing gem in Edinburgh, the staff are incredibly welcoming, the atmosphere is electric as soon as you step into the door, and they make quite possibly the best margarita I’ve ever had. Thank you so much for making us feel so at home!

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Husband and I are on our 2-week honeymoon and I’ve been dying for a taste of home. It is incredibly hard to find good Latin American food (especially when most people think that means Mexican food..), and finding BARUNO was like an oasis in the desert. We both had the sancocho — a hearty stew with plenty of veggies and meat — and ended with a flan (or pudim). SO GOOD. (I can’t show you the flan because I ate before my camera had a chance.) As a plus, there were two very adorable and tiny hosts named Tequila and Zinfandel.

Such a great place to stop by for food and a few drinks. Great music and superb staff who look after you with such a joi de vivre. Thank you for your hospitality

Although it was quiet when we went, the atmosphere was still there in the form of a really good chat with the owner about his inspiration for bringing you authentic Latin food. Really couldn’t recommend it higher.

The restaurant’s owner was very friendly and even came to our table to check if everything was okay. I loved it! The atmosphere was cozy and beautifully decorated. The food had great flavors, was made with high-quality ingredients, and came in generous portions. The prices were very fair too. We also went back for the party, and it was fantastic! The vibe was incredible. The drinks menu had plenty of options. Perfect experience! A solid 10/10.

Latin food, a mix of several countries, of course I ate a very delicious Paisa tray.

This place is ok. The food is hit and miss with the menu trying to do a range of Latin American dishes and then randomly also some Spanish ones. The pan de quejo for example was dry and stodgy, while the pasteles were actually really nice. Avoid the torresmos which are not freshly made but instead tasted like they were served from a packet. The beer selection could be improved and the cocktails are not bad. Prices not my favourite but it is George Street after all. The servers were nice but the food took far too long to come out and came one at a time - as a party of 7 that was painful as we had to watch each other eat and wait over 30 mins at some points for others’ food. I understand it was just one person in the kitchen but we pre booked and it wasn’t great.

Popped in for lunch to try some authentic South American cuisine. The owner was so friendly and loved to talk about his story and the food. Ordered the Bandeja Paisa, amazing is all I can say. The egg and rice. The flavours and juices from the beef, chicharron and Chorizo. Now I no longer have to travel to London El mejor del Mundo I will absolutely be back for more

We were wondering what to have for lunch and we found this hidden gem. I had a feijoada and my mother in law sancocho. Both were really good. Cameron, the guy who waited for us, was corteous and funny. We would love to come back!

While it was quiet when we there, that meant our host (who I took to be the owner) was most diligent, friendly and attentive. A wonderful place with excellent food.

Leaving the Scottish National Portrait Gallery we were looking for a place, without too many pretensions, to eat at midday. We got here by googling and...surprise! A basement place but really nice. The guy who welcomed us was very nice, the place was empty and he put us at the only table flooded with sun. We ate very well and discovered new flavours. I pointed out that the hot sauce wasn't spicy enough for us, and he brought us a "secret" flavored oil with green and red chilies, the kind you use to trigger a thermonuclear reaction, and it was... actually at the height. I hope to return here one day.

I came across this place by chance on my only day visiting Edinburgh and I'm so glad I did! For starters I got the Bolinho de Feijoada, for the main I got Moqueca and as a take away dessert I got Carrot cake. The serving size was very generous and the taste was simply spectacular!

We were wandering around and came upon Baruno by chance. We had a 3 “small plates” and a some cocktails. All delivered by amazing and friendly staff. The owner was great and it was lovely to hear about the bar / restaurant from him. The music was at an enjoyable level for us. It was a great atmosphere. One brilliant part was the ladies toilets, beautifully planned. The whole place just had a great vibe about it. It we lived in Edinburgh would definitely go again and again. Loved it!!!💃🏼🕺🏼

This is the new go-to place in Edinburgh! ❤️💃🕺 Even though it was a Monday night, Baruno had organised one of the city’s best Latino DJ. The drinks were really good, and best served with the owner Camron taking the time to explain his concept of Dine, Drink , Dance to us. Go see for yourself, I‘ll be back on Sunday for the brunch!

Baruno Latinamerican restaurant in Edinburgh offers an authentic taste of Colombia that truly impressed me. The dishes were rich in flavour, and every bite brought me back to the comfort of home-cooked meals. The empanadas, in particular, were outstanding—crispy on the outside and filled with a perfectly seasoned mix inside. It’s rare to find a place that captures the true essence of Colombian cuisine, but Baruno absolutely nailed it. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a genuine Latin American dining experience in Edinburgh! Oh I forgot about the music... It was the best I have listened to in a while!

We left a show at the fringe in George street at 9.20 pm expecting the local restaurants to be catering for late comers, but no, all the kitchens seems to close at 930. Happily we found Baruno, and what a find. Really good , tasty food, the owner was great and very welcoming. THANK YOU

We really recommend it! We ordered bandeja paisa that we did not eat it for a long time ago and it was really good. Food was cheap and fine. Service was good and interior was fun. Can't speak to the individual cocktails, but the humongous drink jugs that supposedly can feed 6 people each have barely any alcohol in them. Myself and partner drank 2 of humongous ones between the both of us and neither of us even felt tipsy. Waste of 60 quid for some juice.

Great place with a fun, summery atmosphere. The cocktails were amazing and the gluten free Candy Big Cheeseburger was fantastic! Would highly recommend.

Food was lacking on the dirty fries too hard and oily couldn't finish it. But everything else was good. Cocktails are nice, but would love it if the size or quantity of the drinks were bigger for the price of a small glass of £6.

I went to candy bar yesterday after hearing about it from a friend and it didn’t disappoint! The staff were very welcoming as soon as we walked in and very helpful. We got served by a boy behind the bar called Jamie and he was amazing at helping us. I’m quite picky when it comes to drinks but he took the time to ask me what I usually like in cocktails, and then ran through the menu giving me suggestions on what might suit what I like. Jamie was very helpful and patient, and even tho it was fairly busy he did make us feel like we weren’t rushed. Would 100% recommend anyone to come here that is looking for a reasonably priced, fun cocktail bar in Edinburgh.

I decided to have a drink here with a couple of friends last night where a lovely Barman called Jamie served us and was so friendly and had a welcoming smile. I wasn’t very sure what I wanted to drink and he gave me a few recommendations as I fancied a cocktail. He looked happy at his work and nothing was any trouble. I would definitely come back here. Could not recommend candy bar enough! After being welcomed ant the door and shown to our table by a lovely host. We were then greeted by a lovely bar man by the name of Jamie. This young man was extremely pleasant, welcoming and couldn’t have been more patient or understanding with us. He ran us through the menu and how to order. He gave us time to read over and think about our choices. After disclosing we had an allergy within our party he gave us several alternatives and recommendations for drinks we would enjoy. As well as doing his best to accommodate to our needs. The atmosphere within candy bar was exceptional , music was good along with the overall vibes of customers enjoying themselves. One thing you are guaranteed at Candy Bar is service with a smile and staff always looking to make your experience the best they possibly can. Again can’t thank Jamie enough for making our experience so great and making our drinks to exactly the standard you would expect and want! Will definitely be back for some more fun fruity cocktails!

I came here with some friends for a couple of drinks and the experience was amazing. I don’t drink much and Jamie that was working behind the bar was extremely friendly and helpful when it came to me ordering, he took time to ask me about different cocktails he thought I would enjoy after telling him the alcohol I like to drink. He made all our experiences here more enjoyable and entertaining while keeping a high standard of professionalism and respect about himself.
