TGI Friday's - Edinburgh in Edinburgh, City of

The smashed burgers we ordered were grilled to the point where they were almost burnt. We asked for replacement as they were hardly edible. The waitress replaced our burgers & apologised. There looked to be not enough staff working there as we needed to wait for more than 30 mins for our food to arrive and we needed to chase the waiters all the time, even when asking for the bill.

Service was friendly and good, food was ok, cocktails were awful.

Booked a table at 6:30pm, and when we arrived early we were offered a drink at the bar, and seated promptly and with a smile as soon as a table became available (about 5/10 minutes prior to our booking time which was amazing) Rhys was our server, and he was really attentive and service with positivity was his focus even though it was apparent the restaurant was heaving! He also made sure that we had plenty of drinks and kept checking in which was wonderful considering we were taking advantage of the £5 cocktail deal that was on!!! For starters, I ordered Mozzarella Dippers and my friends ordered Nachos with Pulled Pork and a Boneless Hot Wings, all of which arrived much faster than we expected and tasted absolutely delicious! Our mains arrived moments after we finished our starters, and Rhys came round to check in with whether we needed more drinks, sauces and if our food was good, which it was! The fajitas were seasoned perfectly and were piping hot on arrival and my friend’s Ultimate American Grill was cooked to perfection!!! As we were all completely stuffed from our starters and mains, we opted for the kids desserts as a little sweet treat! They’re actually great value for money, and great for a small dessert if you want something sweet but are already stuffed! And it wouldn’t be a complete review without a shoutout to the bartender Ross! Without him, our night would have been incomplete. His drinks were absolutely amazing, and he started our night off right at the bar with questions about what sort of drinks we liked and made sure we were aware of what cocktails were in the £5 deal so we got the best offers! Would 100% come back again!

Food was excellent and service outstanding. Rhys, Ross and Lucy were amazing in their service and the food cooked by Laura and Maisy was so good. Highly recommend

Way 2 expensive for mediocre food.

Called in on a day trip as have eaten in other TGI's around the world and was excited to try Edinburghs take on it ... disappointing is all I can say . No atmosphere just blah .. we ended up just getting the wings to share and it was basically just a pk of wings pre bought or frozen or some other crap deep fried and it was meant to have their signature hot wings sauce with blue cheese dip it was not good ! Ordered Guinness and a cocktail . The server was a lovely girl but not a bar tender she did her best to make it look like it was suppose too but she confessed she's a bar tender . The cocktail was just a slush with no alcohol and very watered down flavouring . In fact our server was the waitress the main meet and greet and also the bar tender maybeeeee she was the chef too ! Never seen another soul ... so on this experience it has too be a definite won't be back. And had the cheek to charge £28.50 even though I complaint about the cocktail and never drank it !

I got sesame chicken with sweet potato chips and salad, son got a burger. First of all the staff were kind, the only thing is is that they never checked up on us to see how our food was, my chicken was fine but my salad seemed soggy and half of my chips weren't cooked properly, my sons burger tasted very oily, we paid about 40 pounds for all of this. Also the music is so loud you cant really hear what the other person is saying

Was not the best place or experience? They were sold out out of almost everything we asked for. The food tasted burnt. The atmosphere was not great, and the shelves, in the bar, we're almost empty. I have to say it almost looked like they were going out of business.

Got the unlimited wings, only got 3 choices of wings, all 3 were poor quality and not tasty at all and after eating 3 portions you don’t want to eat any more of them due to the lack of nice flavour. Also make you download their app just to eat them and give you a time limit. Would not recommend.

Came here to eat and drink something. When we got the menu we were shocked of the prices so we only had a drink. We felt really bad to only get a drink, but i have never seen prices like this for a simple burger. Have no idea if its worth it but we as students did not want to risk it

Went here for dinner with my mother. She's never been to a TGI Friday so thought it was perfect time to experience it. Cocktails were on point and food came quickly, hot and very yummy.

Booked a table for my husband and myself hoping for a nice meal and a great evening after a day out - got seated and then just sat there for over 20 minutes, not that it was majorly busy - but nobody turned up to even take our drink order - so we got up and left. Wanting to charge 25 quid for a main but completely ignore customers - absolute joke. Would've given zero stars if possible. P.s. menu was absolutely minging just like the table, dirty and sticky, yuck.

Gave 1 as not sure we can give zero. Got seated then we was left to sit around and twiddle our thumbs for 20 minutes. Not even offered a drink or asked what we would like to drink. Got fed up and left after 20 odd minutes. Staff are all kids and did not even acknowledged us. Don't go here

Walked in here just a short while ago and was sat down by the 'host' (female, dressed in black with dark hair in a ponytail)....she said she'd get us some menus and then nothing. Multiple staff walking past us. No one even interested in taking a drinks order or anything. We waited over 10 mins. Eventually, as we put our jackets on, we were approached and asked if we were waiting for anything. We quickly explained we were waiting on menus, etc but that we had decided to abandon eating here due to the atrocious service. Now sat down ordering elsewhere. Simply appalling.

Food quality has gone massively downhill since tge takeover last year. It would be fine for a cheap takeaway, but it falls massively short of the price being charged. Coctails were also not as advertised and not worth the money. Service was friendly but the low staff levels (presumably to save money) meant it was very slow. You could tell they were over stretched.

Fun spot ,good food ,great staff and just of Princes street so its a perfect spot to take a break from shopping

Made a reservation and asked the availability of the pancakes deal and they assured me there is. Sat down for 15 mins and the waitress literally threw the drink on the table. 5 more mins gone by (waited a total 20mins), the waitress came back and told us they ran out of pancakes. Could have told us in the first place. Rude and feel targeted.

Very disappointed with the cocktails in TGI cocktails now. Advertisement is totally different than what we got. Glass was different. No garnish and drink did not taste great. Waitress confessed to not being a bar tender. Great. This was a Birthday cocktail session. Not great. On the left was what i got. On the right what i paid for!

It was a Saturday night and there were only 4 other tables taken except us. I thought it was strange as the place is very clean and the staff friendly. Then I saw the food prices! I got chicken tenders and a very small portion of chips for 20 pounds which seems outrageous and is probably why it was empty on a Saturday evening.

We were there on Friday for my daughter!’s 14th’ birthday. . That was our first visit and definitely not the last . I can’t remember last time I have had such an outstanding service in a restaurant . Beth our waitress made Mathilda’s birthday so special, she was so kind and helpful . The food was excellent and the portions huge ! We will be back very soon 5 stars 🌟 to Beth .

My partner and I went in for my birthday and it was an amazing experience as is expected at TGI Fridays, food was fantastic, cocktails were really nice. Was quite quiet so service was super quick, definitely recommend (doubly so if you can get a student discount!).

We had a delicious meal this evening at TGIs, and we were served by the lovely Beth who was brilliant. I would definitely recommend for an evening out!

Came here yesterday for the 6 pound drinks, they weren't too good, there didn't seem to be any alcohol. Even the mozzarella is very expensive and who knows how good: literally 8 pounds for 6 mozzarella is a steal. The girl who served us (I think her name was Katie) was really nice though, so that's an extra point!

RIBS are not the ones we know from other countries of this chain Burnt, small portions and expensive We do not recommend it

Unfortunately, my visit to TGI Fridays in Edinburgh was disappointing. The floor was sticky, and the toilets were in an unhygienic state—both of which are unacceptable. While the staff was friendly, the service was very slow, which further worsened the overall experience. Overall, I found the price-to-quality ratio to be poor. For the price, I expected much better and cannot recommend this restaurant.

Floor very sticky, toilet paper piled up next to the toilet, which spread down the stairs across the room. Quite a long wait until the food was served, even though the shop was moderately busy. Toilet facilities partly broken. Service was nice and attentive. Food was ok, but not justified for the relatively high price.

Terribly overpriced for a burger and chips (£19). Would recommend going to 5 Guys instead down the road.

Very sticky floor full with wipes all over, took a long time till everything was served, no refreshing tissues for the ribs, ribs had a bit too less sauce on it for their taste, restrooms are broken.

A sticky floor, coupled with rubbish and broken interior (sink "repaired" with gaffer tape), forms the basis for a rather mediocre overall impression. This cannot save the food, which is good, but does not justify the high price. Overall rather disappointing.

Got seated after waiting 10 minutes, no one came to take our drink or food orders, eventually moved tables as the original one had a draught passing through, but waiter never cleaned table properly and still no one came for food order despite asking to order, never stayed to eat.

Probably one of the worst places I've ate at in a while. Was eventually seated after standing for ages in reception and shown to a table. Waited at least another 20 minutes until we called a waitress over to order some drinks. 15 me later the drinks arrived and my pint of lager was watered down with lemonade. I took this to the bar and this was confirmed by the barman who said he'd send another pint over to my table. Another 20 minutes past and we'd still had no food serve by this point a waitress broke me over my new pint. First inspection looked good but when drunk it was a complete flat disappointment to be Payton 6.50 for it.

When booking through the app, they had Christmas deals like 2 for 1. But when we got there they said it was managers discretion to give the promotion deals or not.

Had a trip to TGIs to celebrate a birthday. There was a lovely buzz about the place. Food was delicious (burgers, fries, ultimate ribs). Piping hot. Cocktails were amazing Service was fabulous.

Yummy food but not worth it for the price in my opinion. Service was very polite but extremely slow even when there weren't many people in.

Average food, mines was cold. Service was what you would expect from a McDonald’s and no atmosphere. Place is also freezing cold and baby change is stinking! Wouldn’t return there is a five guys just down the road I’d recommend there

We ate here yesterday & our meal was perfect. Hot & tasty & a good portion size. The staff were very busy but I don’t feel we waited too long for our order all things considered. It is a very popular restaurant but we were lucky enough to be seated immediately without a booking. Would recommend to other people

Over an hour late everything stone cold

Popped in with friends before our respective journeys back home after spending time at the Christmas markets. Floor was extremely sticky, so much so that if you stood still too long, you had to make a real effort to move your feet. Service was poor, very slow and the order was brought out to the table wrong. Staff were friendly enough but the food was not of great quality, judging by the prices charged

I am very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant! Arrived and was greeted by a lovely man whom we never seen again, asked to sit at the bar and ask for 3 cocktails told we couldn't have one yet the person across from me was drinking them? Got our seat after 10 or so minutes. Had to ask a passing by waiter could we order to which she shouted across the restaurant to another girl 'they want order' food eventually arrived 50 minutes later. We asked for ice, to which we never received it, and had to get from the bar ourselves. To which the two burgers were burnt, the chips were cold, and the mac and cheese we ordered arrived without the pulled pork, by the time it eventually arrived the pasta dish arrived and the waiter was extremely rude when we pointed this out by saying 'I don't know anything about this I'm just dropping it down'. We paid £85 for 3 main courses and a bottle of prosecco. When we were converting our payments from € to £ the waiter shouted 'well shit' we had 4 different waiters which was very confusing and slightly odd if we wanted to tip a waiter we couldn't even though we wouldn't after our experience. Overall very rude staff not many people there and no tables being cleaned average burnt food won't be back

Very disappointed with our experience. Value for money very poor also. After getting assigned our seats we had to ask 15 minutes later to order our food. We ordered drinks with ice and water for the table- we had to go up to the bar to get our water and ice. When we ordered our food we were eventually handed it 47 minutes later the burgers were tiny portions would have fed a small child and were also burnt and fries were cold. Mac and cheese with pulled pork was served without the pork and when we questioned this we were given attitude from the staff who turned around and walked away from us. Had to ask for tables to be cleared also. I would understand if the restaurant was busy but it wasn't. If I could give 0 stars I would.

They forgot our drinks. Came only after request. The place was unclean. There were still old leftover food under the next table. The stairs up to the restrooms were totally dirty. My ribs were dry and the fries were soggy. The side salad (maybe a spoonful) was unsightly and tasted of nothing.

Has multiple vegan options for each course. The Christmas meal deal was £22 for a starter and a main off a set menu, which was decent value for city centre prices. Went for the plant based potato skins, it had plenty of melted vegan applewood cheese, vegan bacon, spring onions and came with an ok guacamole sauce on the side. They were filling for a starter. For mains went with the vegan Christmas burger, but when it came out it was only the “normal” vegan burger, not the one off the Christmas menu with the chilli jam and cranberry sauce. Burger was nice, had lots of veg and vegan cheese was melted, but came out late and was cold. Service was slow but it was a busy lunch service on a Saturday in December so to be somewhat expected. Other vegan options on the menu include vegan chicken wings, vegan nachos, vegan pecan pie among more; lots of plant based options on the menu and were clearly highlighted too which was appreciated. Handy for a decent meal, has a full bar and plenty of drink options.

This has only got one star because I couldn’t give a zero. We sat down and no one came to take our order for over half an hour. Eventually ordered and it took 15 minutes for our drinks to come. Starters came and they forgot one. Mains came cold. Bill came and we were over charged, got it redone and it was still wrong. The floor was so sticky our seats stuck to it. Overall bad vibes. slay.

It was the only place near Princes Street, open after 9pm (that I could find) on a Friday night!! Was really good value as I had £25 off the entire order (spent over £100). The waitress was very helpful and deserved a tip. The big boy dinner (meat feast) was massive and worth the money. Good cocktails.

My partner & I visited the Edinburgh TGI Fridays today and was disappointed by the unwelcoming staff and cold atmosphere. The staff seemed disinterested not even a hello when we were seated, and the overall vibe was lackluster regardless of the overwhelming tinsel. To make matters worse, the ladies' toilet had a broken seat, which is unacceptable. Overall, this location didn’t meet the usual TGI Fridays standards and we left before ordering.

Service was very slow however the girl was nice but food in my opinion is over priced for what you get! A wee bit more of an effort food wise and it would be good! 2 adults 3 kids and 1 child had chips and bill was £160 for 2 starters 3 mains a kids meal and some drinks!

Chocolate fudge fixation promised alot but delivered relatively little. Tasted great but far from a sharing plate. I expected more from a desert costing more than £10.

Errors in food and drinks orders, but they were corrected promptly. Food quality substandard, using cheaper ingredients. No wonder they are having to close restaurants. Won't be returning. Advertising states every day is a Friday. Except for special offers. Bit Orwelian if ask me, very 1984.

Went for my birthday, didn’t tell the server but she clocked my badge and brought over a slice of cake with a candle! Service was great and so was the food! Would recommend.

Honestly wouldn’t recommend. Went for a birthday celebration- got ignored for the first 30 minutes of being sat at our table (this basically continued the whole night as well unfortunately). Serving staff were nice enough but sadly kept forgetting things (not bringing all the drinks over- having to remind them about the things not brought over). Food sadly the worst in most things: 0% recommend macaroni from here The boxed make at home kinds are better and that’s no exaggeration (dry, barely warm, no flavour, genuinely seemed reheated in a microwave). Nachos just as bad: toppings were wet (like watered down) and lacking in seasoning and flavour; the tortillas chips tasted stale. Bbq beef fajita was disappointing especially being more expensive for the beef itself. (Not worth it given it wasn’t the best) Such a shame as we have previously enjoyed going. Giving a 2* because the pecan pie was lovely and the drinks tasted good.

I ordered the sesame chicken it was awful, covered in too sweet sauce and a lot of sesame oil , nachos were cold and soggy , the garlic prawns were too basic for the menu description , it took 20 min just for the starters 😕

We had a great experience on a hen do! Staff were very attentive, food was great and they were very accommodating of allergies and our group!

We went to TGI Fridays for a few drinks whilst on our holiday. The server Beth was amazing. We were there for a couple of hours and I watched how Beth ran around seating people, taking orders, making drinks all with a smile on her face, even though she was clearly doing all the work at a busy time. Nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately her colleague seemed to keep disappearing throughout our time there. She did not seem to be helping Beth at all. A polite notice to the managers. Beth is a fantastic member of your staff, you need to look after her to ensure you can keep her. She is a credit to the company.

TGI Friday’s located at Castle Street in Edinburgh is a prime location for good food, drink & service. Had a lovely family meal which was exceptional due to the epic ribs cooked by Konrad & the raspberry ripple cocktail served by Leoni. It’s the best cocktail ever. Leoni’s service was outstanding as always. Will deffo be back again soon.

Good menu choices. Birthdays actively celebrated by the staff. Some dishes arrived a bit on the cold side, and requests for drink orders had to be chased at the bar. This was a Sunday, 2pm-3pm during fringe. Was overall ok, but would expect better for price. Really nice vegan pecan pie & ice cream option for dessert.

Dirty filthy restaurant, the toilets were filthy all the environment was awful, we asked for no spicy food, we said that we were allergic to spicy foods and we have a little boy with us and they gave us spicy foods.

Crappy food, we had the chicken fingers that were over soaked in an overly sweet sauce, and the kids pasta which was dry and inedible. The service was poor, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all but we still waited 5 minutes before anyone (staff all looked like grumpy teenagers) took notice and sat us, then we were ignored for long tines to order. Stay away, plenty of great options around!

Well, I haven't been to a TGI this time, but this time I was really disappointed. When we were led to the table, we almost stuck to the floor, really disgusting! I have no idea how to clean this. The waitress was young and pretty superficial. Then the music was so loud that you couldn't even hold a conversation. The burger was ok, the fries had probably been sitting in the kitchen for 30 minutes and were lukewarm and limp. My five companions were anything but enthusiastic about this restaurant.

It was a terrible experience there was no steak and. I ordered the bbq chicken wings and there was so munch bbq sauce it was disgusting. when we came into the building are seat was so dirty I would not recommend it

Dire. We went to sit down and order and saw the state of the tables that hadn’t been cleaned as well as sticky tables and chairs. Not sanitary and not suitable unless you want to chance your kids getting ill. If that was the state of the front of house I dread to think what the kitchen is like!

Quite disappointed by my first visit food was very slow in coming out. Fajitas were very disappointing for the price not a great portion and there was definitely not enough dips for the amount of wraps or chicken. Really don't think I would come back
