Great atmosphere and attentive staff 👏 great afternoon

One female member of staff extremely rude, accusing us of ordering the wrong drink when it was her the got the order wrong, attitude was absolutely stinking

Great! A very fun place to drop by for some drinks and food. The prices reflect the experience but I wouldn't say it's overpriced. The food and the drinks were lovely, the alcohol free versions were great too.

Had a lovely lunch here with friends. The sizzling platters are fab. The cocktails are a unique experience and great fun. Service was spot on, quick and very friendly. It's pricey but worth the experience.

Great cocktails,best pina colada I've had

Was in here for the first time yesterday and definitely won’t be back. It’s meant to be a classy bar but the service was terrible and the drinks are over priced. I don’t mind paying more for drinks if the service is great and the atmosphere is good. There was a que at the bar which was bizarre and my friend who had already been waiting at the bar was told to join it! I grabbed a table which needed cleared and 10 minutes later was still waiting for it to be cleared and cleaned so had to move to a clean table. A big table behind us left and empty glasses were left sitting for ages! The atmosphere was non-existent too lots of people there with little kids which is odd for a cocktail bar! Basics just aren’t there sadly, it’s a shame because The Alchemist generally has a good reputation and I’ve been in the one in Nottingham which is awesome.

My wife and I had a fabulous day out at the alchemist yesterday. Food and cocktails were top notch! All of the staff went above and beyond to look after us. Special shout out to Rhona (hope I spelled your name right) our best friend for the afternoon!

Had cocktails here, and really can't fault the taste and theatre of them! I thought they were slightly overpriced as the ones we got were somewhat small in size. The decor and lighting was super atmospheric and a great setting for a date. However, the music was a bit too loud and we were had to shout at each other to hear. No choice with the adding a tip on card machine, you had to. Which I wouldn't have minded so much if the staff member making my cocktails wasn't rude and rolled her eyes at me more than once when ordering. I had the Hazelnut Whip (festive special).

Awful service - will not be back! Visited the alchemist on 30th December for a cocktail to celebrate my sister in laws 30th birthday at 2pm. We didn’t have a booking but had checked in advance and it said online there were tables held for walk in. We arrived and found a table that another group were just finishing that didn’t have a reserved sign. We checked with a female member of staff who said the table was available until 4.30pm. My husband ordered drinks (took about 15 minutes) whilst we asked 3 different members of staff to clear and wipe the table. This included the host in a stripey shirt. He dismissed us and continued to wipe other tables around us, but not ours. He then came over 2 minutes later with a reserved sign and told us the table was reserved at 3pm. I explained that we’d already been told by another member of staff that we could stay until 4.30pm. He asked us what member of staff we had spoken to, and after checking, he came back with an extremely rude attitude and said that we had to move by 3pm. There was no apology for the apparent miscommunication between the staff. He simply checked his watch and said “well you have 45 minutes to leave the table”. I have been to the Alchemist in Manchester many times and had a great experience. I was extremely disappointed by this experience in contrast.

Always a great meal. Great cocktails. Just maybe not for.great cocktails when they are mobbed.

Uninspiring atmosphere and terrible whisky sour! That’s all I can say!

3rd 4th 5 6th 7th 8th times a charm? Every times I’m in Glasgow I try screw ball and every time it disappoints! It’s not good! Edinburgh never disappoints

Very classy bar with a lot of space to enjoy. Amazing cocktails, the menu explained them well, with different categories, the type of glasses and what to expect. You won’t be disappointed, I can guarantee! You have to order at the bar, which means the one who orders can enjoy the show! It’s a safe space for girls, « ask for Angela » at the bar if needed. Just the lounge music is a bit too loud.

Absolutely phenomenal service from table staff to kitchen staff to management staff everyone single person is there to ensure your alchemist experience is 100/10. The best place to visit in Glasgow is if u don’t have time MAKE TIME. you’ll thank me !!!!!! AMAZING SERVICE

Super place and very good fun! Expensive but worth the experience. They do various options for no alcohol and children as they can’t have dry ice added to the drinks Central location. Good available, but only stayed for drinks. Have been to Manchester and Liverpool branches, and this one was great.

Very disappointed when we visited the alchemist this month. Upon arrival no one greeted us My partner even asked a waitress if we could just sit anywhere and he was completely ignored. Once we had sat down no one came to our table so assumed we would just order at the bar and took our own drinks back to the table. I found this strange as every other table was being served. Cocktails were average, nothing special but way over priced. Overall I was really excited to try this place as I heard really good things but was really disappointed with the service and the overall experience. Just a simple hello as we walked in or someone to ask if everything was ok with our drinks would have totally changed our perception on the place.

Dinner was very good and the experience with the cocktails was amazing!

Too busy and innturn takes to long being served, the show of making the cocktails lost as the recievers are too busy getting a seat while someone goes to the bar, would be better to have many cocktail stations dotted around. Unlikley to go back.

Beautiful surroundings and excellent service . A very welcoming and helpful waiter . The food and drinks were good and toilet facilities also excellent !

Have been here with some friends as part of a short trip to Glasgow. Unfotunately this was not a real good experience. Everything was far too expensive in comparison to what was delivered. Service was not very responsive, at least the burgers were not really good, Guinness was served in a can and cider in a small bottle. I would not recommend to go there as long as you have an alternative.

Nice location, unfortunately the noise level was very high. The service was nice and polite. The Pina Culada we ordered wasn't good and way too expensive! Canned Guinness, well, you have to like it. Food came quickly, was ok, but nothing special. My opinion: price-performance ratio is not right.

Must return to try out the cocktails!

Great place to come for some exciting cocktails. This is the third time I have been back to the Alchemist in Glasgow and every time is and occasion. Very enjoyable.

Ambiance very good, waitress really lovely BUT the food was way over the top with salt. I understand pork scratchings a bit salty but they were inedible. Crispy duck again ate this all over the world never had it laced with so much salt. It killed any flavour. Other guests next to us said the same about their chicken. Either the chef has no tastebuds or he’s addicted to salt. Do the guests a favour lay OFF the salt. 🤷🤷

The drinks are amazing, the though that goes into making these drinks really show. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food but we will definitely be back. Friendly staff & lovely & clean.

Popped in on Saturday 14/9 around 6pm with my friend for a drink before we headed home after a day in town. Place was mobbed, but we seen a table over by the window so made our way to it. There was a reserved sign but no time on it so we spoke to a female member of staff who said as we were only having one or two drinks we were absolutely fine to sit at it until 7pm. We found a drinks menu and sat down (at the dirty table!). After we decided what we would be having a male member of staff (ridiculous purple hawaiian type shirt) approached the table to tell us we couldn’t sit there and had to move. We told him that again we were only in for one or two and cleared it with the other staff member who said it was absolutely fine to sit there as there was no other seats and nowhere to even stand without being in the way. He then proceeded, in the rudest manner, to tell us again that we couldn’t sit there and that area was for food only. We looked around us and at least 3 of the tables around us did not have food! We asked him to go speak with the female staff member that told us it was fine. He did. Then came back with an even bigger attitude and reiterated his stance that we had to move. Again we questioned this and said we had been told it was fine. His reply… “well I can’t comment on that as I wasn’t part of the discussion and it’s for food only so you can’t sit there”. OK hun, but we’re literally telling you what the conversation was. At this point he has pissed us off so much that we got our belongings and left and will never visit again. I’m not sure what his problem was and if he is a manager then he clearly lacks any business acumen - surely a table with less than an hour until it’s reserved would be better filled with someone that wants to buy a drink or 2 and put money in your till (however small) than left empty until the booking arrives! Make it make sense!

Convenient setting, stylish interior decor, delicious cocktails

Very fun drinks. Be sure to ask about the drinks that give you a show before you consume. Great food and flavors. Excellent atmosphere. I would go there again. They made our 30th wedding anniversary special. Easy to get to, right off George square.

Great restaurant but has its price

WAY TOO LOUD. It's like a club in there. That's the only bad thing. You can barely hold a conversation. Drinks are great, food is great, servers are fantastic, just the music is WAY TOO LOUD. And gets louder and louder as the evening goes.

Amaretto Sours are excellent. Only place in Glasgow I've found that does a decent one. Everywhere else tries to put a twist on it but here they stick to the classic. If you're looking for some cocktails look no further. Would book a table however as they can get very busy and you'll not be able to get one. Didn't have any food so can't comment on that.

Excellent experience at the alchemist today. Lovely seating area at the bar with a live DJ playing music. Once we had finished our food which was absolutely superb (some of the best fish we have both had) we then grabbed a window seat and watched Glasgow go by as we enjoyed more drinks. A very relaxing experience with pleasant service to match. Restaurant was clean along with the toilets although they are shared. Would highly recommend this place to spend a few hours at. Bill came to just over £150 but 2 cocktails were paid separately at the bar. 4.6/5 overall.

Great atmosphere! Fantastic drinks. Service? No fault at all. It's spacious but very busy so the noise was wild. Nonetheless, we loved every bit.

it can take a while to get service and it's often not very clean when it's busy. However it's definitely worth a visit for the drinks and the fun presentation

Visited the alchemist whilst on a short break to the city to see Pink. Booked online the night before and we had a table booked for food and drinks from 1215. Originally shown a table but it wasn’t suitable for some in our party and we were quickly moved to another table for which we were very grateful. I asked for a slight change to a dish due to a dietary need and this was accommodated and felt as if it was no trouble. Massive shout out to Jay for his attentiveness, his cocktail recommendations and just for being a really welcoming presence. We went over our allotted time on the booking but we never felt pressured at any point. We had a mixture of alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails and they were both equally as aesthetically pleasing and fun :) the food as well was very nice, tasty and portion size was decent. The atmosphere was really good, part of the fun is watching what others order and seeing the cocktail creations get delivered and playing guess the drink lol We throughly enjoyed our trip to the Alchemist and would definitely recommend.

We were visitors to Glasgow & went to the Alchemist in anticipation of a good cocktail. My friend & I are connoisseurs of piña coladas from all over the globe. Well their 'take' on it was no more a piña colada than it was a cup of tea. It was more like a lime slushie! Our lovely waitress Rona was absolutely a joy. She took care of us & entertained us throughout. Lovely girl.

A great place for special cocktails

Such a good spot for people watching if you get a seat on the side with the chairs overlooking George Square/City Chambers! We ordered a quick drink before getting the sightseeing bus, and the theatrics!!! We got the Mad Hatter which gets infused using a bunsen burner. The staff, you can tell are passionate about the guest experience because they really do go above and beyond explaining everything Our drinks were served in beakers and we were given tea cups and saucers to enjoy our cocktail. Amazing experience!

We had an amazing experience there . Cocktails were stunning and entertaining. Jaidyn gave us an excellent service . His vibe and positive attitude make us feel special. We highly recommend this place for something unique . Customer service is always on the high level .

We went here for my daughter’s birthday as she loves cocktails, the selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic was great and we managed to get a drink for all of the family. The food was great to share and we all had a great time, highly recommend

Fantastic place - cocktails here really are AMAZING. You’re about £12 per drink but it’s genuinely artistic. Staff are really friendly and very skilled.

Came here to have a wine break on a day off and some snacks Unfortunately, just near us there were not very nice people, guests from one northern non-democratic country that enjoys nuclear threats toward the West but the hostess/waitress quickly addressed our concerns and helped us relocate to a different area 🫶 The food was surprisingly good for a bar, the service was excellent despite the lady served a couple of tables, she managed everything; drinks were good but we didn’t have any of their signature cocktails and just opted for wine. What I noted specifically was flawlessly clean glasses, tables and cutlery which is sometimes rare in Scotland. Overall great impression and the location is of course perfect

Currently sat in here waiting for friend who has been caugh in traffic. Have been in over 20 mins and not one member of staff have acknowledged my presence. Is it because I'm in as a loan female. Will not be back!

I was made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome by staff who kept telling me how long I had left of my booking. I ended up leaving because of how awkward they made me feel.

Beautifully decorated with creative cocktails in beautiful glassware. My only gripe is that the music was extremely loud, and wasn't very nice for the environment. It's also quite pricey but it's very worth the cost.

Far to busy for my liking but I'm old and past all this and they didn't have any cocktails that I liked ( Boo-boo 😂 )...need to take out a bank loan to afford the prices 😅...Although the young people seemed to enjoy it...

I’m sorry to be “that guy” but I was extremely disappointed with this place. We came as a group of 21 for a hen night. Paid a deposit beforehand. The cocktails I had were tiny, not worth £11. The food was mediocre and my friend’s mum waited so long to be served for a drink and never got one (table service) trying to get served at the bar was a nightmare. I felt so sorry for the staff who were serving us at our tables when we wanted to pay our bills separately. I think they thought one of us was paying the grand total. That would have been like £700. A very stressful experience overall. We won’t be back.

Considering how quiet it was, a lot of the tables were covered in spilt drinks and napkins which kind of spoilt the vibe, but the staff were lovely and the drinks were great.

Was at the the alchemist today, had the best cocktails and the best service. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Also special mention to neringa who went above and beyond!

If I could actually score this lower I would, I am seated in front of the kitchen were the chef with ginger hair and beard and glasses isover the counter on his phone or device and had his fingers up his nose I am disgusted

We were met at the front of house by a cheery helpful young lad who informed us where we could sit. The staff preparing the cocktails were very informative and friendly. Our first time but not our last and we will have food next time. Thanks to everyone for a great night.

First time here. We had been elsewhere for lunch and cocktails. Popped in here on way home, kept meaning to visit. SO glad we went in for a cocktail - Dead Red Zombie - absolutely delicious 😋 Hubby said the bar staff were amazing and I watched the other staff when someone broke a fancy glass - staff couldn't have been more helpful, polite, and speedy at cleaning it up Can't wait to come back and sample the rest of the menu and the brunch offer too 😋

Rude bartender interrupted me as I ordered a cocktail to direct me to remove my bar menu from the bar surface so she could prepare a drink for a different patron.

The food was good, but the selection of food for people with multiple dietary requirements isn't the best. I usually check the menu out and was happy to see that the brunch menu which was where there were definitely menu choices to suit, however it turns out that the brunch wasn't all day and we couldn't see where it said otherwise. Couldn't fault anything else. Service stars are lower due to slow service and lack of knowledge regarding dietary requirements.

Lovely cocktails and so much fun to see them make them. We had a great time but the service was disappointing. We had a table of 8 booked which meant we paid a £80 deposit. At no point did a server come up to us to take our order or let us know about how we can use the deposit. We just had to keep getting drinks at the bar until we asked them about our deposit and they came and took our order then. It was quite slow service. Good place to go for a couple fun drinks.

For of us had the 3 course meal and a few cocktails. Food was amazing, cocktails were great and entertaining when served. Previously been to their branch in Liverpool a few times but think Glasgow pipped them for the food. Only 3 stars for atmosphere as the music was pumping so loud we struggled at times to have a conversation while dining, it was like eating in a nightclub.
