Been previously but had booked. Today we popped in without a booking and we were treated with utter contempt by the staff. Will not return.

Great place, reasonably priced welcoming, only one issue was length of service and not receiving condiments when asked for them

No waitress service for drinks. Lots of staff hanging about watching me struggle with wine bucket and 4 glasses.

Considering how quiet it was, a lot of the tables were covered in spilt drinks and napkins which kind of spoilt the vibe, but the staff were lovely and the drinks were great.

Was at the the alchemist today, had the best cocktails and the best service. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Also special mention to neringa who went above and beyond!

If I could actually score this lower I would, I am seated in front of the kitchen were the chef with ginger hair and beard and glasses isover the counter on his phone or device and had his fingers up his nose I am disgusted

We were met at the front of house by a cheery helpful young lad who informed us where we could sit. The staff preparing the cocktails were very informative and friendly. Our first time but not our last and we will have food next time. Thanks to everyone for a great night.

First time here. We had been elsewhere for lunch and cocktails. Popped in here on way home, kept meaning to visit. SO glad we went in for a cocktail - Dead Red Zombie - absolutely delicious 😋 Hubby said the bar staff were amazing and I watched the other staff when someone broke a fancy glass - staff couldn't have been more helpful, polite, and speedy at cleaning it up Can't wait to come back and sample the rest of the menu and the brunch offer too 😋

Rude bartender interrupted me as I ordered a cocktail to direct me to remove my bar menu from the bar surface so she could prepare a drink for a different patron.

The food was good, but the selection of food for people with multiple dietary requirements isn't the best. I usually check the menu out and was happy to see that the brunch menu which was where there were definitely menu choices to suit, however it turns out that the brunch wasn't all day and we couldn't see where it said otherwise. Couldn't fault anything else. Service stars are lower due to slow service and lack of knowledge regarding dietary requirements.

A great experience all round. Food was great, cocktails were fun and tasty. Loved that each cocktail had its own interactive charm. Would definately return.

Lovely cocktails and so much fun to see them make them. We had a great time but the service was disappointing. We had a table of 8 booked which meant we paid a £80 deposit. At no point did a server come up to us to take our order or let us know about how we can use the deposit. We just had to keep getting drinks at the bar until we asked them about our deposit and they came and took our order then. It was quite slow service. Good place to go for a couple fun drinks.

For of us had the 3 course meal and a few cocktails. Food was amazing, cocktails were great and entertaining when served. Previously been to their branch in Liverpool a few times but think Glasgow pipped them for the food. Only 3 stars for atmosphere as the music was pumping so loud we struggled at times to have a conversation while dining, it was like eating in a nightclub.

Some cool 'chemistry' going on here.... and the cocktails are pretty good as well. Really good atmosphere, prices as expected for city centre location. Recommend a visit if you're in Glasgow.

Can be a little pricey but great for a special night out. Really nice low-lighting interior and surprisingly fancy bathrooms lol. Definitely recommend as a fun start to a night out.

Drinks are cool but pretty overpriced. Especially if they’re not doing table service and you have to shuttle your drink back to the table yourself after walking up to the bar. Once at the bar, the same staff member didn’t even utter a single polite word and basically just snapped at us asking what we wanted as if they were about to close or something. No problem with bar service only in a bar but I asked for a tray for a cheeky staff member with a whole bunch of attitude barked “we don’t give trays” at me. We had several cocktails, “cool” ones at that, that had multiple parts to it - so the solution was what? Leave drinks unattended at the bar? I don’t think so. This was a Monday early evening so it wasn’t too busy but it’s not a risk I’m willing to take. We got a Pop-sicle and the bubble didn’t even last until the person who ordered it saw it. Really disappointed as we attended the Manchester venue last year and were so excited for the Glasgow one but they’re worlds apart in terms of service.

1st time here last weekend and it was amazing every cocktail we had were delicious and the theatre of the full experience was brilliant . My hubby and I will definitely be back . I would highly recommend the Alchemist you will find it amazing ❤️❤️

First time here, very friendly staff, great choice of cocktails and at a reasonable price as well. Would highly recommend to anybody who liked cocktails. My fav was pop notch

Affordable drinks in the city centre, especially considering the impressive quality and taste. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wanted a unique drinking experience. We didn’t have to wait too long to get a seat for drinks. The drinks were amazing and the cocktail making was so impressive to watch. The only downsides were that the queue for the bar was quite long (upwards of 20 mins per round) and the menus and tables were all very sticky.

Cocktails are amazing - pricey but then part of the experience is watching them make it! Only issue is the lack of seating and the wait at the bar but then it’s sort of expected

This place was great. Really cool idea and I enjoyed it. The only reason I have knocked a star off is because it obviously takes a fair amount of time to make up the cocktails and they are worth the wait. The problem was the person you order with is not the person who brings them so my plan had been to order the next drink whilst I drank the first drink but I couldn’t do that. The girl who was looking after us was friendly and nice but sometimes I didn’t see her for 10 minutes so I had finished my first drink well before I got the next one. As the table is booked for an hour I only really had time to order 2 drinks. The atmosphere is really cool and dj was excellent. I just wish I had more time to try more of the cocktails and the ones we had were very good.

The two cocktails we had were good whilst we waited for our table. The food was ok apart from the hair in my niece's squid. Waited over 20 minutes for a hot chocolate and coffee.

Booked for the drinks and had a look at the menu so changed to food and drinks. Was blown out the water by the food, amazing. We will be returning here for the food. Got a couple of cocktails each and the service was fantastic. Didn't wait too long for anything and staff knew what they were talking about. Atmosphere was a bit loud but I think that was the group in the centre of the place on a joint stag/hen do. Can't be helped.

Yeah great location and nicely done. Nice drinks etc. Service is friendly but slow. A queue of people at the bar and a couple of staff just sitting playing on their phones. Don’t really get that 🤔

The food we had was very tasty and extremely good ingredients. Location is special, everything is alchemical related. We had a cocktail that was served like a potion and made smoke while we were preparing it. Amazing place and experience.

Stopped in and had a delish Espresso Martini. They can pour a mean drink. Would return.

Firstly I would just like to say that I've been working in hospitality and bars for over 10 years so when I say this I am writing it from someone who's been in very uncomfortable and extremely overwhelming situations within the hospitality industry. I have never felt more uncomfortable and experienced such rude staff. We had a reservation for a birthday that was been booked for a while. Upon arrival we were met by a really unprofessional host who had told us our table wasn't ready yet. We were told to wait by the bar where we couldn't even get to the front of to order a drink while we wait! The place had been so over crowded and obviously poorly managed. After waiting for 15 minutes at the bar we went to ask when our table was to have them turn their back on us while we were talking to them. When we decided to leave we were chastised at the door for leaving? I just don't understand how you can over pack a cocktail lounge like a cheap over crowded club and have people waiting for their reserved tables and just be met by disgusting service and appalling behaviour from staff. If I could give this place no stars I would. Needs be better managed and quite frankly different hosts hired.

Watch out, staff member tip himself without consent!! Mojito was undrinkable asked for swap for a soft drink and refund the difference. He tried to charge the coke. He didn't want to make a refund Mojito was completely full up. No reason was given apart from we don't do refund on drinks. Got supervisor over with lack back of customer skills. She asked if I tipped him. I said no. She want to refund £9.50 but I said it was more than that. She said mojito is £9.50. Checked my online bank account -£11! Then she claimed he clicked tip by accident without even talking to the guy... During excessive wait 20m ( Wed empty bar) I almost got burn by another staff member while waiting. Perhaps that day I looked fire resistance. Truly unpleasant experience. The place has nice views but honestly there are better and friendlier places in Glasgow where you get charge the right amount, customer rights are followed and no one try to steal your money.

Don’t think I’ve ever waited so long for a drink, on a Tuesday night and waited over 25 mins for someone to serve…. Ended up going to the bar and waited another 15??

Not as nice as the Edinburgh one... Lacks atmosphere. Bit like sitting in a school canteen. Food was ok, cocktails were OK if a bit limited on the Brunch Menu

Team that work here are great, know what they are doing and able to help out with the menu. It's missing some atmosphere and seems to be a place where you'd go for a drink, just to see what the fuss is about and then onto somewhere else for the rest of the night

So much fun! There was a bit of a wait at the bar but it's worth it, watching your drink being created as well as watching others for inspiration for your next! Great atmosphere and bar staff couldn't do more to help! Looking forward to trying the resturant next time.

We only had one drink each, but it was delicious. The ambiance was great, busy and bustling. The decor is classy and spacious. I especially enjoyed the extra I got with my hip flask margarita

Nice place for dinner and cocktails. The food was well presented, and tasty. The cocktails are all about the drama, with a strong focus on how they look. There are smokey cocktails, and they all come in different glasses. The staff were nice and friendly too.

The cocktails looked spectacular and having looked at the prices, I would have expected no less. Nice setting lovely staff, but to put the 3 stars I to context, I am just NOT a cocktails sorta guy.

As a couple of Candian traveller's in Glasgow for the first time we must say the service was on point, aside from not getting water to the table. This is a standard back home but not sure if it translates as a standard of service here. Our server Aimee was beyond friendly and helpful with the food menu and drink recommendations.The dry ice drinks are a work of art! The food was priced very fair for a place that is so fancy and it was one of the best burger and steaks we have ever experience. This is a must try restaurant if you are ever visiting Glasgow!

My experience changed with my second order. I believe that an image is worth more than a simple comment… Judge for yourself. Why did it seem so rushed, especially on a Monday when it isn’t busy? I think these are the moments when you have to take more care of the customer. I don't like to pay £11 for a cocktail and get this in return. I hope this changes. The details in a cocktail are important.

Highly underwhelming. The unit itself isn’t very appealing at all from the outside. It does seem a very strange location for there to be a ‘fancy’ cocktail bar. Inside is a bit weird with a rather large open area at the bar - unsure if people stand & gather here at busier times? 6pm on Saturday it was relatively quiet. It also appears to be bar service only unless I am mistaken. Not what you expect given the price point as well. I get the place is trying to be ‘high end’ with the fancy cocktails and to be fair they do look impressive but the rest of the place was a major let down. (service, decor, general cleanliness, strange mixed gender toilet system). I didn’t have food so cannot comment on that. I suppose I just expected more.

Asked for a custom cocktail and told the bartender how I'd like it. He was all great and I had the drink I wanted. Everything was okay. The next time I went up to the bar I was told I was rude to the server and wasn't allowed to be served anymore? Bit strange but couldn't be arsed arguing.

Popped in for cocktails on a Sunday. Bar was lively with a great atmosphere. DJ on playing some nice house music. Great selection of innovative cocktails, that are an experience in themselves. Staff friendly

The food is great! but we have been let down by some cocktails. They specialise in 'theatrical' cocktails, so many of their drinks contain dry ice. Personally i think dry ice is annoying as you have to wait for it to melt in order to safely consume the drink. Aside from the theatrical aspect, the drinks themselves are very tasty and offer very interesting combinations! Good atmosphere at the weekend, can be quite loud at night and they let walk ins by the bar.

Lovely relaxed restaurant with some asian-inspired dishes and pretty cocktails. Some menu items come with a bit of a show, like you got to pour the ingredients together to watch them change colour in your glass or your server blow-torches your baked alaska in front of you, etc. Food and drinks were tasty and we were looked after well by the friendly waiting staff.

We ordered a sharing platter and had 2 drinks each. The bill was around £70 which I felt was very expensive. The food quality wasn’t great. Edible but nothing special. The drinks were good but not great for the price. You are definitely paying for the theatrical aspect. Maybe we are old but the music was quite loud. Quite difficult to hear each other when you are out for a meal. I didn’t enjoy that. The service was great though. Lady at the door was helpful and polite. Our waitress was great too. Very knowledgeable and service was quick. Decor was lovely but I thought it was strange to only have 4 toilets which were not gender specific. Not enough for the large venue.

It was a lovely evening, we had the chicken wrap and halloumi wrap and both good. The fries were also good. The cocktails are spectacular, but in terms of flavour not that tasty. I think it is a fantastic place if you want visuals and effects, but the taste of the drinks weren't my favourite. I had a brilliant time though

Outstanding food and cocktails!

We had an amazing night at the Alchemist. I had been to the Alchemist in Newcastle previously on several occassions so it was great to see one opening in Glasgow. Wasn't disappointed great cocktails and the staff are lovely. Great place to go if you fancy something a bit different. I have to say I am just in love with the place! Could happily sit there all night and work my way through that cocktail menu 😄

Went mid week when it was quiet. Food and drinks are amazing + fun ( dont wanna ruin any the little games) The staff are really helpful always checking up on you to ensure everything is okay. Visually the place is stunning as well. Would highly recommend taking a little cheeky day off during the week to experience this.

Just awesome. Great vibe with an in house DJ and all the theatre going on with the cocktails makes it a special experience indeed. Get the cosmic oysters, they looked and tastes as good as advertised! We got loads of lovely starters and nothing was left, snaffled the whole lot. Salt n vingegar potatoes are a must! The girl Ivy who served us was super chill and welcoming as well. My only slight fault is that the duck pancakes seem a bit like an after thought when compared to the other dishes. The meat was left quite fatty and greasy. Loved the marinated cucumber though!

It was was quite spectacular. We popped in for some spur of the moment cocktails and were not disappointed. Each one tasted delicious in its own right, though my favourite was the cosmic oyster shots. We also had the hipflask margarita, which is not pictured, but comes with a cute little hipflask you get to take home with you, and also get discounted refills if you bring it back. Every cocktail was a little bit of fun and really makes you smile like a kid lol looking forward to returning.

After visiting Edinburgh Alchemist and getting fantastic table service I was disappointed that for the Glasgow bar you have to order the feature cocktails at the bar, by the time they are made and you get to the table they are out of smoke, very disappointing, or maybe Edinburgh has set the bar too high.?

amazing experience overall. the best thing about this place is the staff, it was our first time here as we were visiting glasgow and all of the staff were so polite and friendly, very welcoming. even the bouncers on the door were lovely! the staff were all happy and smiley. you could tell from the way they interacted with each other that they’re a great team and clearly get on with each other well. it really made the atmosphere even better, very upbeat!. The food was lovely, the chicken is probably the best chicken we’ve ever had. The drinks looked really cool and actually tasted good too so they weren’t just for show. Our server was Nelli and she absolutely made our night. Nelli was super sweet and friendly and even on a busy night she made sure we were well looked after, she was very kind and welcoming. Overall a fabulous experience for our last night in glasgow and will definitely be back on our next visit! I will admit, its a pricer night out but i think its well worth it for the service, atmosphere and novelty of the food/drink. The only complaint we had was that the music was a little too loud, was more of a club volume and you did have to almost yell to talk to each other, which made it a little hard to hear the staff. Other than that, absolutely wonderfull experience!

We spent an afternoon at this location and it was amazing!!! We had the brunch, and the food was incredible, the drinks were theatrical and lovely, and Tadhg is so amazing! She gave us her recommendations, was so helpful and accommodating, and made our experience fabulous! Next time I'm back in Scotland I will absolutely be in again! Beautiful, clean restaurant and bar, vibes were immaculate, and everything tasted amazing. In love with this place!!! Thanks for being awesome Tadhg!

Josh. What a guy. He made my drink with such verve, such pinash, I was left spellbound at just the show of it all. On top of that, it was absolutely delicious and went down wonderfully. Ladies, get yourselves a Josh. Or better yet get yourselves down to the alchemist and get yourselves THIS Josh. (Honestly tho good drinks, good times.)

I don’t like J names, however, by god Josh makes a fabulous beverage.

Pleasant experience and different from the norm. Asked for recommendation from bar tender, opting for the dead red zombie. Spacious, fairly relaxed and good music. Liked the decor. Possibly return for food next time. Issue with table being reserved but I'll forgive them this time as busy being bank holiday weekend.
