Decided to come here for dessert after a nice lunch and it was a great choice! While the place was busy, the staff were great and quickly seated us to enjoy our next ‘course’. We all had at least one dish plus a couple of drinks and it came to under £60 for five people, which is really good for Edinburgh. Would happily come back again for a sugar rush.

If you like a Dubai-type experience, you might like this place. Otherwise, there's no need to stop there. Their desserts are incredibly overpriced and never look like what the pictures promise. For example, we've had an eggsplosion, which looks like the most amazing dessert on the picture, but then feels and tastes like a pretentious Kinder egg when it comes. One of their best items is probably the San Sebastian cheesecake. The milkshakes are also decent.

Aesthetically pleasing and food and drinks were amazing. Highly recommend!

I had the French toast and really enjoyed it! The fresh berries were a great addition, and the berry compote was delicious. The toast itself was fluffy and well-prepared. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. It was a cute breakfast !!

Me and my friend visited today for lunch, we waited 30 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and take our order. After we had ordered the waitress came back over and let me known they didn’t have any cucumber for the salad, little did I know that meant I would be served quite literally just lettuce and a cut up chicken tender with a small amount of dressing. The issues didn’t stop there, while my friend was eating she found a pierce of plastic inside her sandwich! Immediately we let one of the staff know, he offered a “Oh I’m sorry about that” and took the plastic from my hand and went away. He didn’t return to the table at all, after 15/20 minutes we decided we had had enough waiting around, we came up to the till to pay and the same man who took the plastic was there. There was no hint of an apology or offering us a discount or to remove the food from the bill. We have been coming here since it opened and honestly this left such a sour taste in our mouths, we won’t be back.

The cleanest place for sweets and delights in you, Edinburgh. Those who have authentic waffles and original pancakes with syrup go directly to them and our orders are as follows: Belgian waffle with Nutella, strawberries, banana and white chocolate. It is crisp and melts in the mouth, and the ice cream is a balancing factor. I ordered Toama pancakes like Ihop pancakes. If you remember, I order plain ones with syrup only. It is dangerous. It tickles the pancreas It makes him laugh all the time. I ordered a Maltida cake. It was a delicious cake with beauty and taste, but it was heavy. It needed a lot of people. I ordered San Sebastian. To be honest, I did not like their reception. Very excellent. Warm and intimate. Especially the waitress Sujata. She served us perfectly. I will visit again, of course. I love you very much.

Had a birthday breakfast booked for 10:15 on Monday 16th December. Arrived at 10:00 (opening time) door locked with no one inside. Waited until the booking time and still closed. No email or call to advise they wouldn’t be open after travelling there and paying for parking.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Haute Dolci for over two years, visiting at least once a week, and I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere and service. However, I’ve recently been disappointed with how I’ve been treated. On two occasions, I was denied my 15% NHS discount, which I have always received in the past. Additionally, I noticed that the discount has been removed from my app without any prior notification or explanation. This change has left me feeling sad and frustrated, as it falls below the quality of service I’ve come to expect. I’ve also overlooked a couple of past incidents where I was served water in dirty glasses and, on other occasions, coffee that was cold. Despite this, I chose not to complain because of the overall positive experiences I’ve had at Haute Dolci. However, the recent denial of my 15% NHS discount has been particularly disappointing, and I feel it warrants further attention. I would appreciate it if this matter could be addressed and would like compensation for the two occasions when I did not receive my 15% NHS discount. As a regular and loyal customer, I hope to continue enjoying my visits to Haute Dolci with the same respect and appreciation I’ve experienced in the past. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.

Visited here today for first time. Staff polite and helpful. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere. We ate waffles nice big portion but they were nice and light and very tasty. Only thing is it would be great to get a pot or mug of tea instead off a small cup. Your reply says you have a tea pot but on your menu it says that is for 2 people not for 1.

Wonderful place with wonderful service and delicious sweet and drinks 🍸 😋. This was my first time, and I really like this place.

We went to their restaurant which is located in the mall in Edinburgh and requested to give us the strawberry and chocolate desert as shown on their Instagram and instead of letting us order in and comfortably have the dessert they asked us to leave the restaurant with the Takeaway cup, saying that this is just a marketing strategy for their promotions and this desert cannot be had while sitting in the restaurant. I think that this is the worst kind of hospitality expected from a well-known restaurant, and don’t think we will ever be recommending this place to anyone as the service is pathetic.

Waited 20 minutes to order and no one came, the second we left they lifted the menus

We had a table booked and the restaurant was so busy we had to wait a further 1 mins to be seated. There was a queue to get in and not one member of staff came out to speak to anyone waiting. When we were seated as a party of 6 they attempted to put us on a table for 4! Ask to move as booth was free which they did. Took a while to get our order then food came before drinks. No real apology or care on that. Food was good just disappointed with the service as it was very slow. I understand it’s busy but maybe more staff on the floor would be better.

The place is nicely designed and feels fancy. The food itself is decently priced and the quality is quite good. The hot chocolate was excellent and worth the price! The coffees were also good but a bit more pricey.

The service was great today! It was my friends birthday and they made sure it was celebrated and took some lovely pictures of us. They also accomdated to our preferences which was nice. The dessert was so so good, we enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend the pistachio stack pancakes!!!

Super nice dessert cafe, very friendly service and smart decor. We had their San Sebastian cheesecake, which was honestly excellent. Such a unique texture and flavour. And I really liked their white choc cookie dough.

Nice atmosphete and decor. The huge menu was a bit overwhelming. The French toast was decent (but I prefer it gooey). Cookie dessert was very good but the star was the excellent San Sebastian cheesecake. Service was good despite being full.

Bad service, slow when there was not that many tables in. We asked to sit on a booth and they said "sorry, that's for big parties" although there was a party of two sitting on one of the booths already.

Took my mum here for a birthday brunch via Groupon, we hadn't visited before and wanted to try a new place in Edinburgh. We were pleasantly surprised; the location and view is fantastic (I would request the main window seat for a special occasion), the food was good, and the service was memorably positive. Service goes a long way, and the maitre d' was very polite and professional. I look forward to returning in the future because it this.

I had a wonderful experience here! The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and welcoming. It was my boyfriend’s birthday, and they kindly brought a candle to celebrate, which was a lovely touch. They were so accommodating throughout our visit. The place, including the bathroom, was spotless, super clean, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend this spot – it’s peaceful, with a comfortable atmosphere that’s perfect for families, friends, and couples alike.

I would say, it looks better than it tastes. The service was very good and the interior is more pompous then stylish and elegant. The deserts are looking pompous as well but the taste is so primitive. If you are looking for a really sophisticated deserts it's not the right place. People working there are very nice though and the service was perfect.

Judging by the reciept attached to the bag, they didn’t start preparing my order until 45 minutes after I placed the order. Somehow arrived lukewarm despite this, and french toast was burnt. Smaller portions than in store.

This place is dramatically excellent. I have tried in Manchester and Edinburgh and never fail to provide the same taste and ambience. Staff is great as well. Tried croffles and Matilda cake, both were excellent. Preciously, I have tried cakes, waffles 🧇, and shakes. Excellent place for dessert.

It was the worst egg benedict i’ve ever had, the beef tasted horrible, also they put old brown lettuce under the egg and sauce (hoping we won’t notice I guess). Food was cold, coffee was cold. We did complain about old salad, received an apology for that and then we saw kitchen staff bringing in fresh lettuce after our comment. I wish I’ve taken some pictures to show how brown and soggy it was. Basque cheesecake was nice and the guy who served us was really friendly, although he didn’t take any actions to resolve the issue. Anyways won’t return, after the complain we still paid full price for cold egg Benedict with old lettuce and weird tasting beef, it was definitely not them trying to rectify the situation in any way.

I was charged twice and been calling and emailing since monday with no respond!!!??? Such a bad experience!!! Send me back my refund!!!!! On Sunday afternoon, my friends and I visited your Glasgow location, and our total bill came to £86 and some pence. I paid £39.90, and my friend covered the remaining amount of around £46. My payment was processed first, and it was confirmed as approved. However, when my friend attempted to pay, they received an "unauthorised" message. At this point, another staff member came to assist and informed us that neither of our payments had gone through, including mine, despite the previous confirmation. I explained that my payment had already been approved, but the staff member insisted that it hadn’t, stating that it was pending. After contacting my bank, I was informed that the payment is no longer pending, and the amount has been debited from my account. They advised me to contact you directly to request a refund, as they cannot recall the payment. I would appreciate it if you could review this situation and issue a refund for the £39.90 as soon as possible, as I should not have been charged twice. The card machine indicated that my payment was authorised, and it’s not my responsibility if there was an error on your system. I have attached screenshots for your reference. Please address this matter promptly, as I am quite disappointed with the experience.

Had a lovely time at Haute Dolci in Edinburgh, with a great location overlooking Princes Street. The venue has a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The desserts were beautifully presented and tasted good. However, I think the mango shake could be better. That said, I'd still recommend this place for the ambiance and service 👌🏻

They have delicious passion fruit ice cream and the waffle is excellent, but the one next to me was not even and looked delicious. The place is spacious and explained.. The one who works on ice cream is called Saneem, and his treatment is very sophisticated

We order just 1/2 an hour ago from delivero app when I complained they making excuses.Drink was so bad not in drinkable form . Its look like expired.

Beautiful venue in the heart of Edinburgh city overlooking princess street. Had a lovely time with friends and great hospitality and service by Majid, who served us with a friendly demeanor. The desserts were elegantly presented and tasted as great as they looked.

**UPDATE** Decided to give this place another try. It was WORST than before! Milk cake came out still frozen in the middle and frozen ice in the milk. Spoke to female manager, who advised that ALL DESSERTS ARE FROZEN, apart from crepes/pancakes & waffles! Such a high price for frozen desserts? Total waste of money and time visiting! Staff are just messing around with their phones! The boys on the front (small & tall guy) need to sort out their hygiene! The weird disgusting smell really puts you off your food! Previously visited Perth store and did not have a good experience, thought we’d try out this branch as we were through Edinburgh. The food was amazing, shop is very nice and clean compared to Perth one. Some of the staff seem a little lost and the music was AWFUL! It was so loud that I was struggling to hear the person next to me. We asked to speak to the manager, the server went to get him and we were told he would be there shortly. After waiting for almost 25 minutes, we just left. I don’t think I would bother returning here, I think they have forgotten that it’s a diner and not a nightclub.

Pretty disappointed we came in for brunch with a baby and were sat at the worlds smallest table - we did ask to sit at a larger table as the restaurant was mostly empty but were told no, we then had brunch which was very average for what we paid the spicy hash - not spicy when we asked for spicy and my eggs were hard when asked for runny - the desserts may be better however wouldn’t come back for brunch again the restaurant is stunning and super clean

Unbelievably don't take online bookings for solo diners. To avoid. R.e. their response - I have checked and their system still does not permit online bookings for one person. It's not a glitch. It's how they've chosen to set it up. Dishonest as well as hapless it appears.

I don’t ever write reviews but honestly was really disappointed. I am a local in Edinburgh and have been waiting to go here for a while sadly this was not worth the wait, the service was so slow, I brought my family here because I thought it was great for such an occasion but honestly don’t. I had to ask for water twice and the drinks longer than the people’s food that arrived after us. The nutty coffee was good but nothing special. Was really hoping to come back here but don’t think I will be.

It was ok. What I had to eat was tasty but so overpriced. I've tried it, enjoyed it but wouldn't return.... mainly due to the cost.

We had a great wee visit here on a Tuesday afternoon after our shopping we needed a nice cocktail and that’s exactly what we got they were delicious, staff were very friendly and chatty. We had a good time and would happily return.

We went for a friends birthday brunch to this place expecting to have a pleasant experience. We didn’t. We had to ask 4-5 times for the birthday sparkler and it came right when we were gonna get up to leave. The service wasn’t amazing, we got the wrong drinks. We had to ask multiple times for small things like water. The booth also felt a little cluttered for the 4 of us. The appetisers were fine, i got bruschetta which was described as toasted garlic bread but the bread didn’t taste like garlic at all and was rather underwhelming. (I have a stomach bug the next day now and i’m guessing it was from the stale feeling appetiser). The desserts were nice but too sweet to finish (a lot better than appetisers). The plating was quite nice though, they were lovely to look at. We also had two flies roaming near our table the entire time.

Waitress who seated us and took our order was so surprisingly and unnecessarily rude that we contemplated cancelling the order and walking out. Hadn't caught the service charge automatically added to Bill before paying or would have taken it off, as definitely not deserved for this woman's unnecessary attitude. First time going to the Edinburgh Haute Dolci and is nothing like the service experienced at another Haute Dolci down South. We chose here for a nice anniversary dessert treat expecting it to be the same, unfortunate this was the contrasting experience we had, though can see we're not alone in this regarding staff from other reviews! Brings the Haute Dolci reputation down. Food was ok, wasn't offered any sugar for our coffees.

The San Sebastián was ok. The salted caramel ice cream/ gelato was bad and freezer burnt. The caramel cheesecake was way too sweet, just not good unfortunately. I couldn’t eat it. The service was decent. The vibe was nice enough.

Wow The Cocktail Making Experience with Peter was absolutely the best fun we have had in ages and made my gorgeous nieces 21st birthday truly memorable. Peter was the most perfect host and full of fun and encouragement in our family get together. Most of our efforts were pretty good bar a strange super limey Mai Tai in my corner lol (it's not easy gripping 2 bottles at the same time !) I would truly recommend you to book this for an afternoon of fun & gain knowledge in making cocktails (no mean feat) The DJ deserves a mention as his music selection was fab to accompany the experience. We would love to do it all again with friends and our sons and only if Peter was again our host. He is a credit to The Alchemist.

Came upon this Restaurant by chance and we are so glad we did. We ere a group of pensioners going to a garden party and required a light lunch. The choice was great and the food wonderful. Staff were so attentive and obliging, especially Niamh who took time to advise us on where to get a taxi. We enjoyed lunch so much we booked for dinner as well! Everything was perfect and made our visit to Edinburgh a memorable experience. Would definitely visit again and will advise family and friends to do the same. Thanks again everyone at The Alchemist.

It wasnrlt planned to come here to eat especially with such fussy eaters however the menu seemwd to cover all the bases and from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out we couldn't fault the place, the staff especially the waitress with the blue bib with her friendliness and service. Even the kitchen deserve a mention cos they adjusted the meals to suit our needs and that's before we asked for gf and df meals. Overall a great experience and we would be more than happy to come back when we next visit edinburgh . For me it was a no fault found experience. Thank you
