Closed for good, it is no more, it is a deceased restaurant, it has shuffled off its mortal coil, it has ceased to be, it is now an ex takeaway

This place has rats and will be reported to trading standards. I was speaking to the waiter and he said they would give me discount if I paid cash to help them ‘balance’ the books which of course feels abit dodger in itself. They run a catering wedding company called majestic studios which I got scammed by but I didn’t know had the same owners unfortunately.

We always order our takeaway from here, can’t fault the food it’s always very enjoyable! Delivery is quick and customer service is outstanding***** We wanted to try something different as we always order the same thing after deciding against it and just going for our normal the lovely gentleman we spoke to when ordering threw in some Biryani & Meat Samosas(made in house & were amazing!) for us to try!! The whole meal was absolutely delicious! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone you won’t be disappointed 😁

Love their curry, especially the vindaloo, my fav to go restaurant, when I can’t be arsed to cook the Alachi is my place to go, always hot and delicious and on time, 5*

I had a chicken biryani home delivery previously very good. Saturday 8th ordered 2 chicken biryani with potato in sauces and omelette. Cost £15. After 2 hours it arrived. All cold and no omelette or potato in sauce. Both sauce containers were only half full. Rang them to tell them and was told the sauce was an extra dish. Obviously this is not true as the biryani is a dry rice dish without this. The rice was very greasy. No apology but said next time they would make sure it was alright. If they think i am going there again they are mistaken which i told them.

Ordered last week from here food was great so thought would try again food was 45 minutes late chips was cold but rest was ok

Driver on 2 different occasions gave me the wrong order. After the second time I had to contact the restaurant to get the driver to return with my real order, hence the food was Luke warm at best, ended up throwing the chips and onion bhajis away...will not use again.

Visited here with some mates we turned up on spec staff excellent as was the food we all went tandoori and could not fault it I fully recommend the place visit it you won't be disappointed

We a family group of four visited The Alachi on a Thursday evening at about 6pm, having read the reviews I had been trying to book a table since Monday but was unable to get an answer to the phone even when they were open, I turned up and was greeted with sorry we have a party of seventy coming when I explained I had been calling all week he ushered me too a table. the rest of the night seemed like it was too much trouble for them and we did not feel welcome at all. the food (we had ordered delivery several times before) was of the normal good standard but will not be going back as the staff seemed very put out. When we left an hour later the restaurant was empty!

Regular visits with my family always a pleasure. Good food. Amazing atmosphere and always lovely waiters

The Alachi looked expensive from the outside but the pricing was not. Food was amazing, and we didn't feel as if we were being rushed. The butter chicken was the best we have tasted in a long time

My go to takeaway for a Indian in the area enjoyed every meal Iv had. Have ate in once which was a nice experience the sat us by the the water fountain which I liked staff was attentive and smiley food was delicious! They act upon every request you ask for, every curry tastes different as most places a korma can taste the same as a vindaloo with same colouring gravy. Each dish here is individual and yummy The nan bread is soft, fluffy and more ish 😍 Popadoms never come greasy or the paper they arrive in never a drop of grease present. Thank you keep up the good work guys!

A bit of a mixed bag this one. The poppadoms, onion salad and mint sauce were really nice. My wife had a mushroom balti with peshwari naan.. the balti sauce tasted exactly like the recipe from a book called 'the Curry Secret', that I used to use at home.. not a bad thing in itself, but not my wife's favourite. The naan had a good filling but was a little hard and chewy as if it had been reheated rather than freshly cooked. I had a vegetable dhansak with pilau rice. The rice was nicely cooked but with a few clumps in it. The sauce was tasty, but the vegetables were a bit of a let down, it appeared to have been just a bag of frozen mixed veg, and the potato was definitely not fresh. The main concern was the pineapple, which was off. Even through the spices it was clear that it had started fermenting. The staff were also a mixed bag. The young lady behind the bar who took my order was polite and friendly, but very new and did not know the menu at all, of the others.. not especially friendly or welcoming and put my back up a little by stepping in front of me and speaking with the young lady behind the bar in their own language.. now I might be old fashioned but to me that is just rude when clearly I could not understand them but they could all speak good English. Overall experience was not positive, and it wasn't until later when I checked 'scores on the doors' that I found out the premises only has a 1 star food hygiene rating. I doubt we will be visiting again.

went with my family to this restaurant and I had very high standard, the food was pretty simple and very bland, no flavour, chicken was quite dry. Will not be visiting again

We have been regulars at The Alachi for approximately 14 years and in that time have celebrated numerous family birthdays, anniversaries etc. Without fail we always had a warm welcome from the owner and staff and we have never had a bad meal, until this time 😔 We booked our normal family celebration for 17 of us this had never been a problem. I was so disappointed when we arrived to find the restaurant had changed management and our usual welcome was not to be😔 Ok so let's just get on with it then. We waited about 20 minutes for anyone to ask us if we needed drinks so I went to the bar to order and let them know we were ready to order. We said we would like poppadoms and waited then someone asked if we wanted poppadoms again! So they eventually turned up and we put our orders in for starters and mains. Starters turned up ok but not up to the standard we would normally expect . Ok. The mains turned up lukewarm and not smile in sight. As I said we have never had a bad meal in all the years of going there so we were all disappointed to say the least as the food was barley warm and not up to standard. I felt so bad for our Granddaughter as you only celebrate your 21st once. I never thought I would ever be giving a bad review for The Alachi and I am truly sorry to be writing this but if we are not honest then the management will not know and may not then put things right. I would suggest the new management get their act together a.s.a.p. in the meantime we will not be returning and I am really sorry to say this.

Now, this is a shame I have to write this review as my family attend quite regularly as a large group for birthdays. Waited 20 mins for a drinks order.. whiled they were faffing sorting out DIY with nails and screws spread out all over the bar area (surely could of been done when there wasn’t 17 people waiting) Would you like popadoms? Yes please... waited another 20 mins and was asked again if we would like some! My cousin had to ask for some hand soap and was given a squirt of washing up liquid. And there was no hot running water in the ladies. When the food arrived it was lukewarm, not just mine, the whole table! I felt like our presence was an inconvenience. Staff were not welcoming and rude!!! The new management definitely need up their game! 😘

Had a take away for valentines and very disappointed. The chicken tikka main was dry and tough and the chicken in the masala was the same. The sauce was very bland. There was a very small portion of chips which did not look appetising in the slightest but they tasted better than they looked. The boiled rice was nice but the naan bread wasn't very good either very floppy as though it hadn't been cooked enough. To top it all off i found what looked like the stalk of a chilli in the tikka main which I have had before! As not part of the dish! Good job not allergic to it... Overall not a very good experience on what should have been a romantic meal.

I was really excited because the stir-fried peppers, onions and tomatoes were delicious - but the meat in my rogan josh was unbearably salty. Our tastes are adjusting as supermarkets put much less salt in food nowadays (for or benefit, we're told). Big disappointment!

My grandson always like to go here for a meal (he’s 10 ) The food is always delicious and hot. The staff are excellent. Friendly, helpful and attentive. A lovely place to eat.

I'm a regular here because I live within walking distance but haven’t reviewed before (oops!). Just returned from celebrating by 10 year old son’s birthday here. He chose this place as we go fairly often and he loves it. The food is excellent quality and the portions are generous. I had a salmon curry and there we’re two large filets if salmon in it, so much so I couldn’t finish it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The place is being refurbished at the moment which will make it even nicer, not that that’s theres anything wrong at the moment, it’s just being modernised I guess. I think it will have more of a cosy feel when it’s finished. We will return over and over and would highly recommend to others.

Visited last night service very slow, was in there 30 minutes before was given any menus. After ordering food still not delivered nearly 1hr later. Went to walk out when they said 2 minutes it's just been cooked. Waited but not impressed.. Mine was just warm. Same thing happened last time we went which was a few years ago. Wouldn't go again.

Wish I could comment on the food quality but we didn't actually receive any! Parents had an awful experience with Alachi - food was already 1hr30 late - at this point the driver was 5 mins away apparently but took another 20 mins as he couldn't find the address and was very rude to my mom on the phone. We appreciate that our house is on a newly built road that may not appear on maps yet, however the driver could not follow basic directions and had somehow not heard of the main road our house is adjacent to...

Food was cold, I didn’t receive what was advertised, chips were under cooked and it had no flavour. I’ve eaten once there ages ago and it was good but this evening it was not. The driver was polite enough but the food was not of a good standard would not recommend, it’ll ruin takeaway night!

Horrible bland tasting curry, wouldn't order from there again even if I was paid too. Even gave me an old pound coin in my change what a joke vile vile food do not order

I assume brexit is having an effect with the small portions and little to no decent lamb. Shame really as there are fewer and fewer good Indian takeaways to order from recently. Disappointed

Ok so we didn't book but my friend is a regular and so said we would be ok. We got seated within a few minutes although the place was very busy. We took our own wine which is allowed even though they have a licence. We asked for a jug of water and a corkscrew. We asked a few more times. Then went to the bar to ask. Then asked another waiter. Another came to take our order and we said NO. Not until we get a corkscrew!!

No loo roll tables un cleared even tho was not busy. Food rushed only 5 mins between starter and main quick to force desert menu (overpriced) in youre face as soon as u ask for the bill. Food was ok hence the average rating

The food was ok the naan bread looked more like a cow pat. When my wife called to find out what's happening with our order and when was it likely to arrive, she was told they wasn't sure but should be there in five mins or so. 30 mins late from original time.

Always eat here, really love the food. Unfortunately last night it arrived late and actually it wasn't very warm when we recieved it. My fiance had to warm his up in the microwave because his was colder than mine. It was a Saturday night though and at peak time so they were probably just busy. Food taster good as usual though :-) one hiccup won't stop me ordering again because I've never had a bad experience before

I have ordered from the Alach many times and even ate in there. But today the food was very disappointing! I ordered 2 curries and both were watered down and basically half water, and it filled half of the tub.. and even the mint sauce was watered down and I couldn't even taste any mint just water, it went in the bin! Very disappointing food, won't be returning!

There is a good selection of items to choose from. I have been a few times and have selected something different every time. Nothing has disappointed. The staff are friendly and attentive. It's our local indian restaurant so we will definitely be returning.

Nunca ha sido antes, pero fui con un amigo que era local. Era un sábado por la noche con una mesa reservada para 8 de la tarde, así que ser ocupado y era. Servicio muy amable. Esperar bastante para las bebidas de 45 minutos para el arranque. Principales otros 45 o así. La comida estaba bien, pero el tamaño de la porción bastante pequeño por desgracia. Probablemente volveremos en nuestra próxima visita a nuestro amigo, pero sólo por esa razón.

Service was brilliant, we went on a Tuesday evening at 7pm, not many people in. The staff were very helpful and attentive, also very polite and courteous. The food was excellent, well presented.

Food quality is always amazing whether we eat in the restaurant or order as a takeaway! The staff are incredibly polite, friendly and will recommend certain things that they think will enhance your meal. Always made to feel welcome and haven't got a bad word to say about the food or the service!

Very disappointed. I dont like leaving negative revewis but waited over an hour and half for food. When it turned up the chips were stone cold and overdone. Chicken was chewy. They also didn't read my special request. Normally order from them every couple of weeks but don't think we'll be ordering from them again.

I came here Saturday with my son, very clean, food was nice, seem to be a lot of staff chatting walking around but not really very attentive to there customers, we waited ages for the bill at the end, I had to get up in the end and ask for it, we had to wait until they stopped cleaning the tables and tidying up

Never again! Late (even though app said it had been delivered!) food was all stone cold, popadoms were soft and missing the veg curry and mango chutney.

Have been a customer for years. This time, order arrived 1hr 40 which didn't bother us as it's busy. Food arrived freezing cold to be told twice by member of staff to put in microwave. I got worked up whilst talking to a member of staff so my husband intervened who works for EHO and advised the food wasn't adequate and wanted a refund. Was told they had to wait for payment to be authorised through just eat to be able to get a refund. Not happy, won't be using again

Really happy with the time delivered. Knocked a star off service as only two poppadoms when there were 3 people. 4 star food as was nice, but nothing amazing.

Garlic Chicken Tikka is really good can recommend... Tasty but not too spicy.

The waiter was attentive and the food came quickly and was tasty. I had a mixed kebab to start followed by a chicken tikka biryani. Both good. The ambiance was spoiled for me by an unruly child that was not kept under control. That spoiled my whole evening but that was not the fault of the restaurant.

Friendly service, food was lovely although the alcohol choice isn't the best. Lovely decor. Overall a nice evening but I personally wouldn't return as I have a new favourite

Got treated to a meal here, a friends birthday, 6 of us , we all had a nice meal ,starter, main, except for the sweet, 2 of us had cheese cake and it was frozen solid, surely somebody must check that things have been defrosted,do you freeze cheesecake anyway? Apart from that all good.

Either really good or really bad and no inbetween. My last order turned up 1 hour 20 mins late and despite being told it was en route one hour before arrival it eventually turned up stone cold. I think it's safe to say this is my last order from here.

Went to The Alachi Friday night (9 Sept 16). I found booking the meal very easy and did have to make a change to the reservation, which was not problem at all.When we arrived, we were welcomed, shown to a table (and asked it that was OK). They gave us plenty of time to mull over the extensive menu and offered any help with the dishes. Once we had decided, the service was prompt, without being rushed and they always asked if we ready for our next course.The dishes were delicious and whilst Licenced, allowed us to bring in some of our own drinks. Whilst skipping dessert, they offered all a complimentary drink to finish. The place was very clean and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Good Meal, Good Value.

Visited here 23/7/16 booked night before and took birthday cake in , the food was lovely , they made us feel really welcome , and it felt like they enjoyed having us here , will be going again

Food is nice but very disappointed as every time I order from them they fail to put every thing in the bag and when you have to pay £15 + to actually get it delivered it would be nice to receive all the food and when you phone to tell them you can never seem to get through.

Food was terrible, in fact I was sick the following day. Staff were not very pleasant and as I said the food was not very good at all and not a lot of it!! I had a lamb curry and I needed a magnifying glass to find the meat. It is a shame really as a few years ago this was one of the best places to eat, now when you go by it is empty.
