Stayed for two nights with a group of car enthusiast. And a great weekend it was thanks to Dan and his staff. Excellent location, good accommodation, relaxed atmosphere, catered for all changes that you get from a mix of 20 people and excellent food for everyone served efficiently. Many of our group have asked to come back next year. It was a 5 Star stay but: I so wanted to give the hotel 5 Stars but the pre-booking and customer contact services are woeful. Various people in the group contacted the hotel with queries and changes and were regularly faced with answerphone messages which were not responded to. We had one couple wanted to stay an extra night and could not raise anyone to make the booking. One couple had to cancel but could not get anyone to pick up the phone or respond to messages. If a manager/owner reads this, your excellent staff deserve better than this. They all worked so hard to make our stay so enjoyable but there jobs are at risk if you cannot sort out your customer contact services at the front end.

Visited Worcester for the weekend with friends and we all stayed at The Rodney. We all booked individually as found it hard to contact anyone to arrange a group booking. Managed to speak to the Baiting House group about group booking discount but they only offer if the entirety of the hotel and lodges are booked. We booked 8 of the rooms for two nights and so a little miffed that higher management were not prepared to offer a little off the rooms and very surprised that no single person discount is applied to rooms meaning solo occupiers had to pay the same per room as those sharing and having 2 breakfasts for the same price. It's a real shame that the policies adopted by the Baiting House as a company are so greedy and lack customer focus. The Baiting House Groups saving grace is the location of the hotel and staff on the front line - The Rodney is in a stunning part of the UK with great views over the Malvern hills and Dan and the team at The Rodney were fantastic and made our stay really memorable. I dealt with Dan to pre-order dinner the first night and from this first encounter to the end of our stay he provided an organised, impressively efficient service. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable, the food was of good quality and very tasty. The staff hard working, friendly, fun and welcoming. Thank you Dan and the team for all your help and hospitality - you made our trip one to remember!

Haven’t been to the Admiral Rodney for a couple of year but prior to that used it regularly and highly recommended it. However, what have you done to the place. £162 bill for four people having a meal of poor quality is a disgrace. The menu on line looks fantastic but then to arrive at the pub and are given a completely different menu is blatant misrepresentation. You really need to get your act together.

We booked here as we have had so many great evenings at The Baiting House which is in the same ownership. Big mistake. The staff were wonderful and tried everything to make our visit enjoyable but the food was poor and the place was empty on a Friday evening. Microwave fare. Really disappointing. Won’t return here. Amazed it’s in the same ownership as The Baiting House.

Visited on 24th October 23 on the recommendation of my recently graduated granddaughter. It was a quiet Tuesday evening. Starters were OK but took 30 mins before they appeared and we appeared to be the only customers dining. For the Main Course from the limited menu all 3 of us ordered an off the menu item described by the waiter as a Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger, chips and salad,(£16 each). When they arrived the chips were overcooked and there was no salad, Having called the waiter back about the missing salad a voice was shouted from behind the scenes " We're out of salad!". we presumed it was the chef, The waiter embarrassingly relayed the message to us, Not wanting to embarrass my granddaughter as the meal was supposed to be our treat for her as we were visiting from Cornwall, when we finished our food we decided that we wouldn't order desserts so I requested the bill ,paid and left. McDonalds serve better quality burgers at half the price.

Don’t waste your money going there. Absolutely awful. Salad black and slimy, food not as described, poor quality, cheap oven chips which tasted reheated. Rice boiled to death til it split. Missing items from plate. Some dishes they had sold out of so limited choice. Outside lights turned off at 10pm so we had to navigate through the patio furniture in the pitch black to get to the car park which was dangerous. I have emailed them re the issues and had a very poor response taking no responsibility despite me also raising issues on the night to which the response was just ‘we’ll tell the chef’. 3 of our party were up through the night with upset stomachs. The pub was empty when we got there at 8pm on a Saturday night and stayed that way, I can see why now. Only wish I had read the reviews before I booked as they echo my poor experience and are spot on.

Cold welcome, not overly friendly or chatty staff. Guy i think was the manger barely managed a hello when i greeted him, i smiled he didn’t. Outside tables and chairs need TLC, patio furniture full of spiders, webs, no care and attention. They are not encouraging anyone to want to sit and drink out the back, and definitely not eat outside, no flowers , all very bland and unloved. Was going to eat here, but changed our mind because of the cold bland atmospheric in this pub. Will not be returning sadly …

Having bothered to book, as we were interested in the menu on-line, on arrival we were immediately informed that one of the four starters on the reduced menu was no longer available and that there would be a half hour wait as they were very busy. Having had to ask for the wine list we made our order to be told that our first choice was not available. Having then chosen our food the waiter had the embarrassing task of coming back to us twice to let us know our choices were not available. As nothing else on the reduced menu was tempting (we did not want steak or curry) we decided to go elsewhere. The waiter deserves credit for giving us our drinks on the house.

Arrived with quite a cold reception. The rooms although tidy had been shut up for a while and smelt fusty. All the Others rooms all shared the same pathway so everyone has to walk past everyone’s main window and door (no privacy). The parking facilities was good. The breakfast was a bit lacking. First morning they had no bacon. The second morning the breakfast was cold. Myself an many others sending breakfast back. One resident ordered a boiled egg and it arrived in a bowl because they had no egg cups. It all appeared to me as if the business owner was wanting to make as much money as possible with little input. Leaving a very young (16is) girl to sort out breakfast is not good practice. A chef that didn’t have any allergens information on the food he was serving was frightening. The response to one question was “ I think there ok but the butcher doesn’t send me any information with them” I’m afraid any food without ingredient and allergens lists shouldn’t be on the premises. Other than this the place was okay and a clean tidy please. Would i recommend or stay there again… probably not.

What a most unpleasant experience eating here. This is such a shame as it was our 4th time previously staying here and every time it has been fabulous - food, service, accommodation. It seems to have new ownership and having being closed for a while has opened to very little staff serving the worst food I have ever been given. Firstly we ordered a bottle of Prosecco, it arrived, already opened with about 1/3rd gone from the bottle. This was quickly resolved. There was only one other table in the bar with us, yet once we ordered our food we waited about an hour. During this time we were told the ‘chef’ had to restart our order and we we offered a bowl of nuts. We ordered 3 cod and chips and 1 belly pork. When our food eventually arrived, I cut through my fish, which was still frozen and oozing with water. This could have made one of our party seriously Ill. the belly pork was bland, no colour, with a few veg that were limp to say the least. We told the manager, who was only on his first week of working there, who quickly took the food and asked if we wanted to eat anything else. We chose not to considering the poor quality food we were given. We did however decide to have a cheeseboard to share as we were so hungry. This arrived, with no crackers and one slice of stale bread. Again, inedible. We went to our room hoping that breakfast would be better. This in fact was just as bad. The black pudding was rock hard and the rest of the food Luke warm. We didn’t eat it and left straight away. I have been waiting to hear back from the owners with regards to an email I sent but after a week, am still waiting for a response! I will not go back here again which is such a shame! Avoid if you want to eat some nice food!

Came here to visit family and order some food. The food came, a duck which was terrible and a ploughman’s which was meant to come with 3 cheese and only came with one. I have never returned any food before but I couldn’t eat it. We swapped it for a plate a chips and a pint. My partner went up and wanted one of the meals removed, as neither were eaten. She was refused, afterwards I went up. One of the staff members was very rude and slightly aggressive, the male one was more understanding and offered to not charge us the chips and pint and £8 back on one of the orders (half the price of one of the meals). We accepted and moved on, it was only on the drive back it was revealed that my partner did pay for the chips and drink. I don’t know if this was on purpose or a genuine mistake. It resulted in us paying £44 - £8 for 2 pints and a plate of chips. Quite a expensive trip with a unfriendly atmosphere created by one staff member towards the end. Not what you want when you are trying to see family.

Our booking for Sunday lunch was in the barn part of the restaurant with tables nicely spaced. Very good Sunday lunch menu and good options for pescetarians and vegetarians. The tomato tart was delicious for a starter and friends enjoyed the soup and prawns. The veggie sausages and mash were tasty and loads of additonal veg (red cabbage and brocolli, both well cooked). Excellent desserts (treacle tart and a well made panna cotta). Service was with a smile. However would say service speed was just on the acceptable side between courses as were just wondering when our food was going to turn up when the food arrived. We weren't in a rush so it didn't matter too much. Robinsons cider on draught.

I was so pleased I booked this restaurant on the Internet, as living down in Hampshire, we wanted to take some family and friends living near Bromyard to a nice pub restaurant near them. It was delightful. Lovely interior decor, very clean and tidy and a great menu with some very interesting dishes. We received a nice welcome and a lovely window table. Our orders were taken professionally with a number of dishes being explained very well. The starters, main courses and deserts were all excelllent and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. I was particularly impressed by the staff and management who are clearly at the top of their game. Just two points come to mind when thinking of what made this place so different. One was the beautiful combined white and brown bread loaf that came with my soup and the other was the stunning array of spotlessly clean urinal pipework in the men's toilets. You may think me very silly for mentioning the latter, but rarely do you find mens toilet facilities so clan and impressive. Sincere congratualtions to the managment team. I hope we can come back to you again soon.

Apparently the pub has recently reopened after a major refurbishment. From the outside it is fairly unprepossessing but inside the modern décor is tasteful and subtle. We were served by I think one of the owners. We had a light lunch. I had a brie and bacon bloomer with salad and crisps. Very nice for 6 quid. My colleagues had a meat and fish platter respectively. All good although I would have expected a bit more on the platter, given the 12 quid price. There is a good selection of lagers, cider and real ale. The pub is slightly out on a limb on the road between Martley and Knightwick. I hope they can make a go of it. Definitely worth a visit and good luck to them.

This was our second visit to the restaurant and overall, on both occasions, the overall experience was very good. However, on this occasion we ordered two courses, a main and a dessert, although I had only intended to have one course, and usually do when I eat out. The main was nicely presented and very tasty, but there was so little of it (a small cut of chicken and a few quartered new potatoes with 3 small green leaves as a token of veg) that I was still hungry and decided to have a dessert as well, hoping that would fill the gap. As the main was so tasty and well presented you could almost forgive a small portion as the food looks reasonably priced (although now I know why - you don't get a lot for it), however, for £5 each the dessert we were served really was pushing it too far....tasty but incredibly tiny. What amounted to a few teaspoon sized tastes of chocolate served in a teacup smaller than my thumb (!) and three small, very thin shortbread biscuits! I also overheard someone on the table next to us tell the waitress the food was nice but 'not enough of it'. Sums it up really. Shame as the rest of it was done well, but we paid a lot of money (also the wine menu didn't list prices) and went home after two courses still feeling hungry (and neither of us are big eaters anyway). Unfortunately, simply due to portion size and value for money, we won't be going back again.

Real ales with local ciders topped the meal off perfectly. The room was excellent, very clean, spacious and a very comfortable bed. Will definately be booking here again.

We've just returned from a company lunch at The Admiral Rodney Inn. The food was lovely and although the restaurant was busy our food was out in no time at all (we phoned to place our order before arriving)! Unfortunately, someone in our party ordered Fish and Chips and was given a fish the size of a gold fish (no joke!) covered in batter (it looked normal size until he cut it to find very little fish (maybe it should be called fish batter instead of battered fish)! The dish was returned and replaced with scampi and chips which he enjoyed. A lovely restaurant, just not if you like more than a 2-inch fish! I ha Burger and Chips and it was delicious (hence the 4 star rating even with the fish issue).

I'm always balanced when writing reviews as I think it is important. I also wait until the following day in order that my feelings are not written in the heat of the moment. I booked a table for two at this location for my wife's birthday and found the location, atmosphere and staff were all fine and the visit started well. However it was the food that caused the problem! For a starter I had the soup, which when served was so hot it almost burnt my mouth and it was not possible to enjoy. Once it cooled down, some ten minutes later it was simply bland and tasteless. It was supposed to be carrot and coriander but was not nice at all. In contrast, when my main course arrived ( gammon ), apart from the chips, the rest of the food was cold! This was really disappointing as it affected the enjoyment of the event and we won't be going back. Come on Admiral, please get the food to match the environment!!

The food is not only prepared excellently, but sourced locally, which is not just a marketing ploy but something John and Jean are very proud of. The service is friendly and accommodating. The menu is a perfect balance of pub favourites and dinning. As for drinks, we had some particularly good wines and whiskies. We have stayed there twice and our only complaint is we probably ate too much. They know how to take care of you.

We stayed at this inn to attend a wedding, and chose it because it was close to the wedding venue in Malvern. Whilst at the inn, we booked a table in the very busy restaurant. We found the staff exceptionally cheerful and helpful, the restaurant clean, and the quality of the food was excellent, both at dinner and at breakfast time.

We've been meaning to eat here, every time we've said we would we've always missed the serving times, due to walking around for too long in the surrounding countryside (it is stunning in and around Martley). Even the local shop sells gorgeous homemade sausage rolls.... but I digress !If gin or whiskey is your thing, you're in for a treat. There are several speciality boards for you to choose from. Being a cider fan, I was in heaven with the draft choices, one even tastes similar to my beloved Cornish Rattler, I was already in heaven.I ordered the comfort food, it was a sublime gorgeous home made lasagne which came with the most delicious tomatoe salad with lots of herbs, seriously, I've been to some great Italian restaurants but this dish eclipsed those experiences, the chef is genius. The Man ordered a delicious, juicy rump steak and it tasted fabulously chargrilled, the chips are worthy of a mention and I was banned for stealing any!I shouldn't have.... but I ordered a slice of Amaretto & Chocolate cake, it was seriously decadent and if I only had one complaint, I'd have ordered a smaller slice, it's seriously filling, but moreish, don't say I didn't warn you !The service was exceptional, we were looked after soo well and we'll definitely be returning.

We were staying at Admiral Rodney for a week and had planned to eat around the area as we toured each day. However our first meal was so good we kept coming back lured by the specials , variety on offer and sensible prices so ended up eating there 5 nights out of 7. Chicken and spinach curry especially delicious on curry night and steak very tender . Always plenty of fish on menu and clearly everything cooked from scratch with generous and varied veg. We shall be going back.

Booked and early evening table and were met by friendly staff. The decor was a bit dull and the menu was standard pub fayre although the specials were more interesting. Ordered the baked figs, mozzarella and serrano ham to start and after some confusion over what we had ordered it arrived promptly. The mozzarella was very good although the overall dish was a little lacking in taste. For mains we had fettuccini with saffron, crab and prawns which was nice but not special and a chicken, avocado and bacon salad which was short on chicken and the bacon was cold and dry. Just felt that the food, decor and atmosphere need to move up a notch.

I never received such rude customer service, than what I received here!! I think the lady working on Saturday 12th September at lunch time, may benefit from attending a customer service course. With the Admiral Rodney being the half way point for a popular walk - Worcestershire Way, you would imagine they would be used to having walkers use this stop as lunch break after grueling 17 mile walk and further 15 mile ahead. So during a charity walk on the mentioned date we stopped here to replenish and followed their request to remove our walking boots before entering the pub to order cold drinks and food. We then thought it would be considerate to sit outside due to some of our clothing being muddy, so we patiently waited outside for our orders. Some of the lads were desperate to get energy levels back up etc, so set about munching on some energy bars and energy drinks. The mentioned lady took exception to this and came bursting out the pub doors and in a very rude and abrupt manor told us to get of the property as we were eating items not purchased on site. So wearily we packed our bags, picked up our wet boots and socks and trudged to the road side where we had to manage our safety of passing cars whilst eating to gain the energy to continue our charity walk for the neo natal unit at Birmingham hospital. The lads who had ordered food stayed at the tables awaiting their orders, a few minutes later the same lady burst through the doors again, booming out she had told us to move once, the lad waiting replied he had ordered food to which she replied - you haven't purchased those crisps here so put them away. I was absolutely flabbergasted at this customer service, I totally understand the fact we hadn't purchased some items of food from the pub and they are trying to run a business but surely a quiet word, along the lines - sorry lads the beer garden is for customers only who purchased food here, but I don't mind if you want to rest over there by the car park. On this experience I would definitely not be recommending this place to eat or drink as I am sure the other 20 walkers in the group wont be either. We did our bit for charity for 13 hours, would have been nice if the lady mentioned could have maybe done a charitable return for 5 minutes!!

I was very shocked when i got to the half way point of the charity walk to be confronted by which i guess was the manager being rude and basicially telling us to shift instead of just saying in a polite way yes 3 had irdered but if the lady would of give us all time alot more would of ordered food and drink and by saying u welcome the walkers all the time it looked obvious to me as we were all in walking gear and ruck sacks not my general every day wear oh and im affraid to say what i can recall there was nodbody using bad language and our litter was collected as is everytime we do this walk

My husband and I were so pleased to have stayed here. The food was absolutely wonderful, with expert advice about local cider (delicious) thrown in for good measure! We visited on the night of the local folk club where we were made perfectly welcome and enjoyed the music. The 'Snug' room was perfect for our needs, comfortable bed and again, wonderful food at breakfast. Parking was straightforward and easily accommodated our large car. We would very happily visit time and time again!

After completing18 miles of 32 for a charity walk for the Birmingham Children's Hospital we arrived at this pub as it is a common half way point for this type of walk, ok it's not normal to sit at a pub and start eating your own food but try arranging a walk of this nature then telling all the participants that you must eat there might make people think I won't bother. So when the first 6 people Sat down and half ordered food and drink and half did not it was quite surprising that without question or reasoning the lady who I guess is the management came to the door barking her ordered to get shifted, the rude lady did not even ask why we were there but just told us to clear off.Whilst one of the walkers was packing up she came back out and told one of the guys who was eating his own crisps but who had ordered food and drink to stop it like he was a kid.Charity obviously starts at home in this pub and I for one will not return regardless, the sandwich was fair though so I can't be all negative. If the management do read this we were walking for the Neo Natal unit so I am of the opinion that maybe it's worth asking why first rather than being rude.Nick Fenton

Well worth a visit, the "Specials Board" menu is tantalisingly different, and the normal menu contains all the usual favourites. The food was really well prepared and the portions are good. Combine all this with the spectacular views, and I'm sure you will come away happy.

Had Sunday lunch here. Very nice not any complaints as such. The only one thing to mention is the dessert menu. I wish they had had more choice as no hot desserts and 2 much the same. Having said that we have eaten twice there and the food is better than most. The service is excellent and there was a nice feel to the place. would definitely go again.

A little gem tucked out in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside. Besides the wonderfully designed balconied restaurant, there are tables in a bar/lounge area or you can just sit outside in the lovely garden to take in the view. There is also a dedicated and separate bar area which nicely divides the diners from those who just fancy a pint. Food was excellent and the service outstanding. A truly enjoyable couple hours spent in a very fine establishment indeed.

Had a lovly meal last night with my partner. Breads and chicken livers on toast were fantastic the squid also if a little to salty. My sea bass with salsa Verdi was excellent and my partners burgar was very tasty. Sweets we had chocolate and espresso mousse very nice rich not for some one with small appetite, And a cherry cheesecake this was nice rich but not quite to my own personal taste, it was more on the savoury side it did complement the cherries but I would prefer a sweeter cheesecake one perhaps not made cream cheese and mascarpone instead. But it was a good meal good food lovly service with a smile

We came across the Admiral Rodney by chance whilst out for a drive with my father in law. What a find! The food was amazing and beautifully presented. There is an extensive menu of locally sourced produce and even though we only had a light lunch, you could tell a huge amount of care is taken where the food is concerned. This really is a menu to be proud of. According to my father in law, the local beer is also extremely good....and they do a cracking cup of coffee. Altogether this was a very pleasant lunch and we shall make this one of our destination restaurants in the future.

First visit to the restaurant, only sat outside with bar snack previously. Very welcoming pub restaurant. The starters were excellent, my wife and I had the asparagus and our friends had fish. I had the Herefordshire beef and my wife and friends all had lamb. Everyone enjoyed everything and finished off with a selection of sweets. Everything cooked excellently and coupled with good selection of beers, wines and spirits made for a perfect Sunday lunch. Will definitely visit again, fully recommended.

After having a lovely roast at the kings head we sat in their garden having a drink. Really unprofessionally the manager came over from the star inn and asked us to join them because ‘the drinks are cheaper’ Maybe but the live music is awful and your pub is empty - we now know why. So rude. Really unprofessional and an awful attitude to have towards another local business Absolutely no business coming from our large group who would have happily spent money behind the bar.

An amazing Sunday lunch at this lovely local pub. Visited with friends and 3 of us chose the roast beef. It is the best beef I've eaten. My friend, who is a vegetarian, had the Sunday roast but substituted the meat for cauliflower cheese...which she loved. I would highly recommend this lovely place for a warm and friendly Sunday lunch.
