Lovely village pub, friendly welcoming staff, good selection of drinks and a great new menu. Spent a lovely day eating/drinking outside in the sun with the family.

Good food, Chilled atmosphere, good selection of drinks, menu has something for everyone, don't have to wait long to be served

Visited the Acton on 1st March for my friends hen party. We opened a tab to make things easier at the end. I looked on my phone and noticed I had a voucher for the wine club. I asked the server what was included in the wine club offer. She's asked to see the voucher to check the T&Cs to confirm which wine was included in the offer. She let me know which one and we ordered. Upon paying our bill, I present my voucher and they tried and tried to process it but must have been coming back with an error. The manager (pressuming) came over and tried and then went oh, it's only valid on a Thursday and Sunday after 5pm. I advised that the server did ask to see the voucher, he advised if you click on it, it says valid Thursday and Sunday, the T&Cs are different. Not wanting to make a scene as we'd already been there a while with a busy queue, with the staff trying to process the voucher I just paid my bill. I did email to complain as after going home I looked at the T&Cs and the second sentence before the selection of wines it says that it's only Valid Thursday and Saturday. I got a standard, Sorry not Sorry email. I replied to say that I wasn't happy with the response (blaming me) I'm still waiting for a further repsonse. The food is fine and the service with food being delivery/Cooked is fine. I was stay away from vouchers as the dont have a clue!

Came here for dinner yesterday, the chicken wings were amazing, nicky who served us was fantastic and the manager Dan was also very helpful

The Acton Park is our local pub/restaurant and has always been our go to, including my 84th birthday and our Wedding Anniversary, What makes it great is usually the very pleasant staff, we can take the dog in if it is too hot to leave her in the car, we like the food and the prices. We have had one poor meal there, in the last five years, averaging about one visit per month except during lock down

Changes to menu meant that long standing favourites no longer available, e.g sea bass now served with curried veg; barbeque sauce ruined Mac n cheese. Smaller dishes too.

We came for the second sitting at 3pm on Christmas Day. I’ll start with the negatives- The wait time was far too long - 45 mins for our pre booked starter and then an hour for our mains. Totally unacceptable. I spoke to several members of staff about this and was given different excuses: 1. ‘it is really busy’ - no, you know how many people you have booked and what they have ordered; that excuse doesn’t work. 2. Several members of staff have left early as they only wanted to work certain hours’ - ok well that is bad management - if you knew you weren’t going to have the staff to cover a second sitting, you shouldn’t have run one, or emailed people via your automated system to tel them to come later 3. Three of us had the traditional Christmas lunch but they had ran out of stuffing - granted, we were offered extra food to compensate, but again, how do you run out of something when everyone is booked and pre-ordered their meals? - once again, poor management. The good points - when it arrived, our food was actually very good, credit where due. The young man who spoke to us last was outstanding, apologised, acknowledged that the delay and service had been unacceptable, and gave us a free round of drinks by way of apology - If my business were hospitality, I’d employ him in a heartbeat. Ember Inns should just make him the manager. Because of him, I almost didn’t write a review, but figured that a review should highlight both good and bad points to be balanced. This was our fourth Christmas meal at the Acton; despite our really bad experience being partially put right, it will sadly be our last. It’s a lot of money to pay for such a poor experience.

Sadly came here for works meal 8 of us on Thursday and it was shocking table booked for 5pm back room sat there for 40 mins only to be told it isn't table service and told abruptly by a gentleman is says order at bar on menu sadly we couldn't see it on there then ordered food which is no problem to wait another 40min for food I had mixed grill steak was cremated couldn't cut it chewy crap cut of meat also chicken was that dry I didn't think you could chew it without drinking at same time my partner is rib dish was solid very poor food we were offered free round of drinks when we just wanted a decent meal and were leaving anyway as getting late on won't be going again sad 😢

We come here quite a lot, not only is the food great, but the service is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. We visited today 1st December for Sunday lunch. The food was spot on as usual.but the service was exceptional. I'm in a wheelchair and it doesn't fit under every type of table. I was OK at the table we picked, but they wanted me to be more comfortable, so Dan and Robyn brought in a table from the function room that my chair fitted under better! Amber served us and she is so lovely and polite. In fact Dan, Amber and Robyn are a credit to the pub. We love visiting as we have such a warm welcome.

Fantastic food and brilliant service, we came for food and stayed for the quiz which was very enjoyable definitely will coming again.

Food was lovely apart from hot and fiery wings, which were not very spicy were very nice. Good prices service very slow took 45 minutes to get a sandwich, due to kitchen equipment not working.

Just driven from manchester airport after a holiday so didnt want to cook so came for sinner arrived at 5pm and ordered the 3 course evwning meal we had to wait a couple of minutes as ot was 4.55pm. We ordered th e meals of battered mushrooms and wings which took 25 minutes but were nice. Then gammon and chicken burger they arrived at 5.55 chips stone cold chicken burger on a dry bun no burger sauce so smothered it in ketchup. Didnt bother with dessert as the first 2 courses took ages. We used to frequent here most weeks but this is the third and probably last time which is a zhame cos we live locally

Much improved since my last visit. Haven't been there for some time, but had a nice meal. Good service too. I won't be waiting such a long time before going back. Update 2022: just had a lovely meal, definitely recommended. I'll be back again soon. And 2023 - still great, had some lovely food 2024 - just had an Ultimate Burger. I would say it really was the best burger I've ever had in a pub. Highly recommended.

Whoever decided an "open sandwich" means you can serve it with half a ciabatta needs to be sacked, but I'm sure using the other halves as garlic bread have saved enough money that the company doesn't care. No reflection on the staff, but the company is ripping people off.

I booked our table for the Acton via the Ember Inns app. Due to a delay on my part I needed to cancel the reservation and choose a different time. This was all done and sorted in 30 seconds. Very easy to use and confirmation emails received almost immediately. From the minute we arrived we were looked after by 2 amazing bar-staff, Sian and Niki. Nothing was to much trouble and they ensured we were well looked after, friendly, chatty and helpful. I had made a special request when I booked, but also knew it may not be possible. As soon as we arrived my special request had been taken care of by the staff. Before we ordered I asked the bar staff (Sian) I think, if the discount voucher I had received via email was ok to use, I was informed it was, I was also kindly advised rather than use the voucher when paying for my order, to open a tab and all food and drinks that we purchased would be discounted when we left rather than just paying for the meal at the time of ordering. There was lots of choice on the menu and I had the soup to start with, and chef Andy did not disappoint it tasted amazing, one of the nicest soups i have ever eaten as a starter. My husband had the battered mushrooms, he said they were lovely, i already knew they were as I have had them on previous visits. Myself and my husband had the mixed grill. The portions were amazing and the chef excelled, as did the kitchen hand Rob. Our server was Sam, the Shift Supervisor/Manager. Which we were not aware of, we thought he was a waiter (sorry Sam) Again, very friendly, polite and helpful and he ensured we were looked after and had everything we needed, the whole evening was lovely and a perfect way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The cost of the meal and drinks seemed to good to be true, my husband had 2 drinks, I had a bottle of prosecco, my husband had battered mushroom to start, I had the soup and then 2 mixed grills for mains – Total (with a discount code) £56.00. If I had to give a score out of 10 it would most definitely be a 10 + 100 An amazing price for top quality food, service and atmosphere. It knocked spots off The Savoy. Had a dreadful meal here thu night ,ordered 2 chicken and chips and a chicken and leek pie ,was told the pie was the last 1 we were lucky well far from lucky meal took 50 mins to arrive (it was not busy)the chips came cold and the pie well what can i say the leeks were put over the pie to hide the burnt crust ,we sent all 3 back with no apology we sat there thinking he will come back and ask us what we wanted in place of the last apparently pie well not ,15 mins later our meals come back warmer and still the same pie with extra leeks put bk.on top , by this time we were hungry so ate it but to say we wont be dining here again til the staff and the food improve 😡

We didn’t have a good night, my food arrived without any coslaw (they had run out) they had also run out of the sauce I requested, so I paid £13 for half a very dry chicken and 6 baby potatoes my friends egg was raw and her gammon was chewy, we left the table to order more drinks (left coats and bags behind) and my full drink was thrown away. Had to queue at the bar to request another, Ordered 2 puddings but only one turned up. Bar staff were apologising for the long wait to be served.. people were asking for drinks for them to be told they had run out so they would have to think of another drink which would also be sold out. Felt sorry for the staff, was at least 15 people waiting to be served with 2 staff on.

Food was excellent value for money. Although some items were unavailable staff made recommendations for alternatives. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Will visit again.

Great beer, good service, nice place... but what they're doing in the kitchen to make chips that bland I don't know. Heating them under a warm lamp and injecting papier mache into them it tasted like. Ham & eggs perfect though!

Ate here for the first time yesterday - it won't be the last! Excellent service from lovely staff, thoroughly enjoyed our meal (menus offer great choice). It was very busy but from entering to leaving took just 45 minutes - and we weren't rushed at all.

My 6yr old got told to get off a stool whilst I was gambling on the fruit machine sarcastically, not very kid friendly, then took 50mins to cook 3fish fingers and chips whilst the place was empty, didn't have sides for Sunday lunch so i ordered mix grill with steak done rare to medium and It came as tough and as dry.

Really nice pub with good food. I had the tandoori skewers and my friend had the chicken burger with the hash brown they were both brilliant. Staff are really friendly and helpful I’ll definitely be returning when I’m next in the area.

Went in for drinks, service from a bartender called Gaz was immaculate. Made sure I was seen to as soon as my glass was empty and took time to talk and laugh with me. Fantastic service from the lad!

Having tea out with her indoors at the Acton Park on Chester Road, Wrexham. Fish: More batter than fish, the batter was rock hard, shaking the table trying to cut it with a normal knife. It could not have been cooked to order, it had been left to dry. Two slices of bloomer bread ( paid extra for) was wet at the bottom. The gammon was NOT thick gammon as advertised, but normal size and it was dry. It's a lovely place and the car park was full, the staff were really nice. Will not be returning.

A wonderful welcome on a difficult day. Having travelled from South Wales for a funeral it was gratifying to attend a function where the needs and emotions of those present were well considered and catered for.

Had my husband's celebration of life do there buffet was gorgeous we had the gold star menu . Staff where really friendly and it was a great atmosphere can't thank them enough

Listen carefully , I’ve eaten at the best places in the country I should be a food critic I’ve been everywhere . I have an outstanding taste for food and ingredients and know when it’s 10/10 or not . We stopped here on our way to Snowdon with the family. I had a steak sirloin. Two days later and I still dream about it !! The single best steak I’ve ever eaten in my life . I’m actually annoyed we stopped here because going to miller and carter from now on is going to be a disappointment! Absolutely outstanding. I would wait two hours for my food if I had to . The pizzas were amazing best taste ever .

I had a home delivery today and omg absolutely amazing. First time ever ordering from here and wow 👌 highly recommend, portions are more then enough price is really good but the food was amazing will definitely be ordering again very soon

Ordered food tood an hour and 15mins. There was a funeral on but we arrived an hour before on pre booked table. Food was cold. Chicken was rubbery, steak was grisly. Chips were off. Really disappointed. 4 of us left most of our meal. Nothing like it used to be. Really not good.

This was our first visit. We were helped immensely by a man behind the bar as we had a dining out card and were unsure how to use it. He informed us it was easiest to order from the bar with the card. This was true, no hassle, just plain sailing. Ambience was great, service great, but the food was fantastic! I would definitely recommend the lasagne!

Great place to eat and drink with friends! Met up with a few mates for food before the footy and it was so good we came back for drinks afterwards. Food was prompt and hot, beer tasted perfectly conditioned and staff were great!

Taken the wife out for a nice meal and it was 100% nice. I had the mix grill and the meats were cooked perfect and full size too. The wife had a Double chicken burger which looks tasty too. Was quite busy but the staff always smiling and always a good pint too. Nice chilled atmosphere with everybody just having a nice chilled time.. I downloaded the app and it also has offers on that and you get rewards too which is great for my next visit.
