Turf Hotel in Wrexham

International Wrexham fan so this pub was a must see. It is exactly as you would imagine! We definitely stuck out, as chubby Mexican Americans do 😂, but everyone was super friendly. I don't usually drink beer so was happy they had a wine option. We arrived about an hour before the game started and we were able to walk right into a crowded bar. As we left there was a line of people waiting to get in.

Where does one go after a late breakfast butty? The Turf! Great people, good atmosphere and a Guinness. We travelled far and were not disappointed by the team. Great Crispy tuna sandwich for the road was very good also. Thanks for a great experience!

Great food, great beer, and friendly staff. Got to meet Wayne Jones in the coffee stand. He was very friendly even though it must be difficult to be world famous. He was very polite and humble about it, which made the experience even better.

Stopped in for a quick drink. The place is amazing!!! Really friendly staff and locals. The atmosphere was building before the game that night (Harrogate at home) and you could feel the energy and pride around you.

The Turf is an awesome local pub right next to the Racecourse grounds. Naturally, as an international tourist this is exactly the spot I wanted to visit and it didn't disappoint. While hanging around with friends, the locals were very happy to just come up and talk to us about our travels. The Turf offers drink only, but often has a food truck located outside. I would highly recommend it.

Met the owner. The place is just like one the show. The people are wonderful. The owner, Wayne is awesome. If you're coming to Wrexham this is a must.

Fantastic family run business, friendly staff and great customers. Recently been refurbished, very clean toilets, and brilliant disability access. Massive range of booze to choose from, great collection of gins. And with the burger van outside with a variety of hot foods you can sit on the decking and enjoy your pint with a burger 😊. Also a large seating area at the back where you can enjoy a cigarette.

By far the best thing we did in all of 2023 traveling 4560 miles just to hand out with the people who show the world what loyalty and pride truly is. We had the most delicious sandwiches, drank very good beer, and made friends for life. Thanks Nicky for the special brick! We feel part of the family now. Can't wait to go back! The Parkers

Great place to stop over for a pint when you're waiting for a train! Plenty of good beer selection plus so much things connected to two famous Wrexham AFC owners! A group of us travelled from Scotland to the Turf on my 60th birthday (New Year’s Day) to celebrate and enjoy the atmosphere. Everyone was so welcoming to us and I really felt like it was all about me!👍🏻 Wayne greeted me on arrival and my family thought that was a great touch. I can’t remember how many times I was wished Happy Birthday 🎈. To top it all off. They got me a ticket to go and watch the game ⚽️⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 How special is that? I had a great day, a wonderful birthday 🎂 made better by everyone associated with and at the Turf. Thank you 🙏👍🏻⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Loved the vibe even if the weather was off Got to see Wayne who made my niece happy with chocolates.

My m8 is a dentist is in Wrexham decided to have a swift one in turf on way home as saw it on this is Wrexham. Forgot it was last Friday before Xmas(mad friday) it was heaving but a joyfull happy atmosphere. Will deffo visit on a quieter day

Nice pub but pity about the patrons - too many Wrexham fans. Would have been much better with more Newport County fans

Visited this place simply through watching the Wrexham series on the telly. As soon as we went in, we were welcomed by the landlord and invited to sit with him and his guests. Superb. Stories and jokes were told whilst we were in their company, and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. If you're thinking of going in for a swift one but are unsure, I urge you to do so. Great place with the friendliest people I've met in a long while. We WILL be back.

Everyone is very kind. We flew in from the US to see a Wrexham game and it was cancelled due to weather. But everyone we met at the Turf was exceptionally kind! If they had did there I would never leave!!

As most others we visited this place after watching the Wrexham documentary.Unfortunately they were away to Accrington Stanley that day,, "Accrington Stanley who are They? Exactly" Lol. Great pub great atmosphere and choice of drink, deffo worth a visit again.

An iconic place with lots of history, fantastic and friendly staff. Stopped by the club shop and bought some gifts and had to have a few drinks in The Turf! It wasn’t a match day so it wasn’t packed but fairly busy. The burgers from the burger van were really good. We definitely want to come back on a match day. Very clean. Comfortable seating. Several big screen TVs and a couple pool tables. Good drink selection too.

Such a lovely small pub right next to the Stadium. We went on a Sunday night and it was chill and the staff we’re lovely.

Good for a pint. A Wrexham FC fan favourite as seen in Welcome to Wrexham lots of the usual Deadpool paraphernalia etc. Staff were friendly and theres 2 pool tables with an outside seating area. Didnt have any food so cant comment. Good on them for doing well given whats happened historically in the area which was similarly depressed as where im from. Gets a lot of through visits from tourists now.

A great place to go for a pint before the Wrexham game. A Good pint of Guinness and good value. They also sell Shipyard Ale from Maine, USA.

Had a pint before the match. Although it was super packed, was able to get prompt service.

I didn't have anything to eat but there is food available and I'm told it's excellent. The pub is very popular now due to the tv programme but retains its local feel as well.

Great atmosphere, made very welcome

The atmosphere of the premises was probably the best I've ever witnessed tourist from America are regularly at the turf to visit and soaking in the atmosphere of the Wrexham pub. I was passing through as I was waiting for my next lecture and have visited as a fan in the past however it can get overcrowded during match days which can be hard being served although there is an outdoor area which I am sure compensate that. Very well recommended to visit as I am sure many have and will.

As an Aussie who travelled some 17,000km and managed to have a pint or two here it was well worth the visit. Travelling solo I heard the stories that you can come in a stranger and make friends but until I walked in and experienced it myself wasn't entirely sure. Was in Wrexham for two days and both days went in to have a pint there such was the feeling even on non game days

Everything you think it will be. Wayne was so very welcoming, and happy to have a selfie with us. You can feel something special there.

Well, at less than a mile from the centre of town, next to a famous old stadium that until recently was crumbling down, after fortutatus investment from the Deadpool and Rob McElhaney this pub is a great place to spend a penny or even a few quid on a beer or two. There's even a barman who used to steal koy carp what else is there to want.

Dropped in with the wife on our way to the grosvenor Hotel down the road and loved it. Starstruck by meeting Wayne Jones to not gonna lie.

Loved this pub, a little quiet but I imagine all the locals are in USA touring with the team. Worth a visit, good choice of beers/lager, jukebox also.

Proper old school boozer that is now attracting drinkers from around the world thanks to a certain TV series! Good service and decent pint and you can bring your food in from the fast food van outside. Enjoyed my quick visit.

Amazing pub, such great prices and service, the pub is well decorated and feels welcoming. The burgers were the best part- the lady outside in the food truck was so kind and the burger was the best burger I’ve had in Europe!!!!!! For only 3.50 as well!!! Please come here if you visit Wrexham.

We visited the Turf and the Racecourse as a pitstop on our way to North Wales after watching the Welcome to Wrexham show on Disney plus. Nice atmosphere and some good selection of beers. Unfortunately they weren't serving any food when we arrived at 1pm and settled for a spoons lunch instead.

Very friendly service, 2 clean bathrooms, pool table, arcade games, TVs and lots of Wrexham memorabilia. I had fun coming here. However, I did not like the draught beer selection. There wasn't a lot of choice of quality ales or British beers.

Looks, feels and smells like a pub. Landlord (who is now almost famous) was very nice and noticeably courteous to punters and staff alike.

Phenomenal experience. American who caught onto Wrexham,the club and the town, with the documentary and have been a huge fan ever since. Such a great atmosphere at the turf, met Wayne the owner almost immediately upon walking in and he couldn’t have been nicer. Whole town is buzzing after the clubs promotion recently and no place more buzzing than the turf! Can’t miss it, a must see for football fans everywhere.

For those visiting The Racecourse or Wrexham in general, I highly recommend this pub. Great atmosphere, great staff (such as Wayne of Welcome to Wrexham fame), full of history of Wrexham AFC, plenty of Deadpool and Always Sunny In Philadelphia decorations and good food in the burger stand outside. What is there not to like?

A very well run pub next to Wrexham Football club. Considering all the celebrations yesterday with the clubs promotion etc, it was packed again today. Quite a few Americans in as well!!! A very Happy crowd, much singing, especialy, "We are the champions". Great to feel the atmosphere.

Visited for a pint and a couple of games of pool. Great atmosphere. Lovely pint. Plenty of history of the mighty army, Wrexham AFC adorning the walls. Highly recommend a visit.

Friday afternoon, not too busy, guy behind the bar was upbeat and friendly. Pool tables available, big screen playing racing. Very nice
