Great place for afternoon tea and great ambience and perfect service. Went there on Saturday and can’t go wrong. Bang on

A unique experience that takes you back in time. The staff are friendly and the service is great. There menu has a wide choice of items and as you would expect from a tea room a wide selection of teas. I highly recommend their cakes. A must visit if in town!

This is a lovely tea room made perfect by the owners enthusiasm and imagination. I think it's run by a husband and wife couple and they are very happy to chat and tell you about the tea room (which is adjacent to Boscobel House). There are a number of children's toys and games which helps to keep young ones occupied. As the name implies, the decor has a war-time feel which is quite unique and gives a flavour of times past. It's very cosy inside but also has some outdoor seating. We had cakes and drinks and everything was lovely (huge cake portions). Somewhere we'll definitely return to, perhaps for one of the special roast sharing (see pic).

We called in here for lunch as where we were going to go only did take out food. We sat outside over looking the town as the weather was lovely. We ordered tea for 2, cranberry and brie baguette and the vegetarian ploughman's all for £15. The food was delicious and the portions were generous especially the ploughman's with 4 pieces of cheese. Will definitely go again.

We were visiting Boscobel gardens and had a walk down to the White Ladies Priory so stopped here with our dog for a latish lunch. Lovely interior with lots of interesting things to look at . We were made welcome and entertained our selves with a pub quiz and some knitting, The food was delicious, rabbit stew and soup, both were very tasty. and we shared a home made scone. No napkins available.

We had a light lunch after visiting Boscobel House. Charming place with lovely theming. Food delicious, generous portioned and served quickly. My scone was still warm! Staff are lovely, especially the lad who served us. Friendly, accommodating, and, dareI say it, very good looking! It’s a shame English Heritage are kicking them out, I hope they find alternative premises to keep the business going.

We had lunch here while waiting for a 2 o'clock tour of Boscobel House. We sat down at one o'clock and got our food just before 1.45. After twenty minutes we hassled them to take our order or it would have been longer. We got huge pots of tea, delicious stews with fresh bread, and a very pleasant place to wait to be served. My sister said her burger was dry and she went in search of the creamy cole slaw it should have been served with and was told they'd stopped doing the cole slaw as no one ate it. Onion rings were the substitute and they apologised for not telling us when we ordered. I do recommend the cafe and you can visit without going to the house, but make sure you've got plenty time.

Welcomed in by an extremely enthusiastic owner(?), we found somewhere to sit in the very cosy interior. There is a '40's theme, perhaps to remind us of how lucky we are today. All the staff then seemed as enthusiastic as the owner(?), perhaps it's genetic?, infectious. The smallness of the kitchen had me scratching my head as to how the lady in there produced everything that was from the menu, but apparently she did - amazing! A brilliant place, and very popular!

The set up in here is great. The restaurant area is full of 1940’s stuff and is nicely done (not kitsch or tacky) & genuinely interesting. There was plenty of choice on the menu and had some interesting options ranging from standard sandwiches and cakes to hearty stews. We just wanted sandwiches, tea and cakes. Again range was good and when the food came it was excellent quality and worth the amount we paid. My only issue today was the time it took to take our order and then to bring the food. Similarly having ordered 2 cakes at the same time as the sandwiches, to be told later that they had subsequently sold the one of the cakes we had ordered was disappointing. The restaurant was busy but not excessively given there were 4 staff and only 8 tables. I genuinely hope that this was a one off bad day and that any problems are overcome quickly. I got the sense that the people care and they acknowledged my gripes when I was leaving. This has potential to be a great little tea room Ambience and location 5 /5 Food quality and price 5/5 Today’s service 2/5 Overall 3/5

Visited here for a cycling stop, hadn’t been since it changed hands last year. Now open Wednesday to Sunday all year. Made welcome, much quicker service, smaller variety of cakes but a lunch menu too. I shall return with my husband who I am sure would love the hare stew. Nice location to cycle or drive out to , excellent use of the old stables

I visited Boscobel House today to find a beautiful 1940’s Tea Room. Now I must make it clear that you do not need to pay to visit the Tea Rooms like you do Boscobel House, as you make think you need to to get in as they are next to the House. I popped in and was visually delighted as soon as I walked in to see all the features and character of the Tea Rooms. I was instantly greeted by the staff and made extremely welcome. Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures as every table was full of guests and I didn’t wish to encroach on their privacy. But wow, what a place! The food was just as delightful, well cooked and a fantastic variety of sandwiches, home cooked soups, burgers, breakfasts, cakes, refreshments. Children are catered for by choosing of the menu and halving the portion size and price. There are games on the tables, cards, dominoes, chess to name a few. I will definitely be back to this beautiful place, I’m glad I found it today. I did pick up a leaflet which I’ve attached below. Busy at the end of tours of the house to time your visit or call the number to check if they are busy or book a table.

CAMRA’s current national pub of the year ~ a real varied mix of cask ales on sale at competitive prices which is always good to find. Look out for the Tap Take Overs which will be advertised on the Untappd beer app.

10oz Steak came with one onion ring, one mushroom, half tomato and handful of chips £20.50 plate was half empty. Mushroom rissoto consisted of bowl of rissoto rice with three mushrooms on top and bread £15.50 very poor quality and grossly overpriced, mushrooms barely cooked. Very disappointing for an eighty eighth birthday celebration. Have eaten several times in the past and have always been very satisfied, will not bother again.

Lovely place, very reasonably priced. Food was fine but not fancy or homemade that I could tell. People were nice. Very local however which might be off putting for some.

More than a bookshop, this little gem of a place, connecting book lovers with great books, is a cozy, beautifully laid out, and lovingly managed by an amazing team of people! Whatever they do, they always do well and that includes the delicious food and drinks! A place worth visiting!
