Dj plays the wrong style of music for the crowd 😫

Good times to be had by all in their gorgeous beer garden 🍻 🪴 Predominately British Pompey crowd, lovely 🥰💙

I like my Newcastle brown and it's 2 for a £5 during the day but, no food.

Football was on. Barman was excellent. Had a good drink, sweet.

Toilets have been sorted from last post but my have they got a problem with drugs...2 or 3 people in a toilet at one time... Security does nothing.

Smell of the toilets literally comes out into the pub disgusting watched a couple move because of the smell seriously needs to sort the toilets out vile

Used to have the reputation of the most expensive pub in North End. It is now one of the cheapest. Can't go wrong for a £2.55 pint of Doombar 👍 (03.11.2023). Usually has at least one pump pulled ale on the ready, with most of the popular larger's and cider's on tap, or bottled, in the fridge. A locals pub, which is very welcoming to outsiders like us, who have moved into the area. Just pub snacks, so the two stars on food, isn't really a fair reflection, as the snacks are of great variety and always well topped up. Great local boozer.... Need I say more....👍

A friend of mine spotted him drinking in your pub happy as larry. I just wanted to mention this as he has EVIL intent and is a danger to us women. Please do something...

Craft Union pub same as The Leopald in Southsea. Leans towards being a Sports bar rather than boozer but, clean and tidy, friendly staff, two ales normally on offer but Doombar was served today, it was OK. Can be noisy. Deco quite smart.

Could do without the language from the punters, don't need to hear the "c" word in every sentence. No Timothy Taylor Landlord either.

Used to go there before refit ,always liked atmosphere ,which it still has even with change of staff ,Claire is a sweetie.I do miss Elvis sitting at bar but he obvously left the building lol.

Lovely large pub and outside seating, good selection of beers and prices typical of all the pubs in Portsmouth.

Pub has changed hands now and although the beer is cheap it's now full of kids who want to fight unfortunately. Will avoid.

We thought we would have a lunchtime drink here. We ordered our drinks and sat down, the pub was fairly busy. There were two people behind the bar serving when a Mac Donald s delivery came in and passed over the bar, the two people then got out their food and started to eat it on the bar. A customer had to wait untill they pulled off the monopoly stickers. Will not be going back.

Nice revamp for the area! Was advised about gin and which mixer. Would be amazing if they had fever tree and also some local gins / local bands and events on to make the place feel more down to earth and less like the Clarence. Loved the atmosphere and liked the new staff.

Had a recent refurb to this pub. Nice friendly atmosphere and drinks at a reasonable price. Has a small garden area. No parking available.

Great refit! Great team heading the newly refurbished pub to be honest… I can overlook the glasses piling up on the bar and none being collected; it’s a fresh team. But INCONSISTENCIES already mean several disappointing visits. On a Sunday they told the whole garden at 1030pm that was it and pub closed. No notification. No last orders. And then the table the landlord had been sitting at was allowed to order again? People get upset about this sort of thing… Weekends open till 12… hmmm? Well sometimes the door staff let you in and sometimes as of tonight at 11.02pm they stop entry. That’s fine there’s enough other pubs open to 12 and 1 around them. The FOUNTAIN is great and Wetherspoons if you really want entry at 12.45pm… but why 11pm some inconsistent nights?? Have a suspicion this pub will get better and better but inconsistency means currently 3 out of 5

Very busy, which is nice to see, made a nice break from shopping we only had two cups of tea 🍵 which we could refill again and again, which we did 😀. The Thatchers are on the high Street so you can pop in and spend some time ⏲️ checking your purchases before starting again. We had just been to the Portsmouth Arena. *****.

I enjoy playing darts, however I have gained no knowledge of how I play darts in this pub! Does this use a dart board?

This place does awesome OAP roast dinners on Weds lunchtimes. Staff are very friendly.

Group of five made welcome in the bar for Sunday lunch, as access to dining tables at rear was restricted. Beautiful meal and good hosts.

I visited here with my husband for Sunday lunch, we both had a roast beef dinner, this was cooked perfectly, the beef was tender and moist, and the vegetables cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend to others.

OK pub but can get busy. Live music can be noisy if wanting to just chat. Good beers.

Very welcoming, and lots of humor, in short, go ahead, the prices are completely reasonable, come and relax with a pint and play darts while enjoying a superb sunny terrace.

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos. We went there from quiet Southsea, through dirty and neglected Fratton and the restless, even off-putting Nord End to the concert. I won't tell you who played. I don't know what their name is. We were invited there by a drummer who was our neighbor until recently. The concert was worth every moment spent there. And to keep my throat from drying out, I drank a very good cider called Thatchers. The price will certainly discourage fans of Friday night drinking, so the pub does not require additional protection. Moreover, most of the clients were young people around 50+. Similar to charismatic musicians. I recommend.

Its a quite Thursday afternoon not many people in but we have Dawn serving. A handsome lady who is a very good barmaid and friend of many years.

Great friendly atmosphere, the place to go for live music in Portsmouth.

Went in to this pub which i have always liked...waiting for my son and daughter in law to meet me. The lady was cleaning up glasses..which i did not interrupt,however despite it being empty at the bar, she kept her back to me and wandered up the bar to talk to the other bar worker and clients and totally ignored me.. after feeling an utter fool I eventually left to wait out the front for my son. We did go back in when my son arrived and were served straight away by the man behind the bar. I do not want to feel unwelcome in a pub as a lone woman and I am not adversed to going into a pub alone usually but this experience made me feel very awkward. If you want to own a pub or work in a pub...please make people feel welcome! Its important in hospitality. I will not return because I never want to feel like a burden or a pain in the backside. Such a shame for what could be a lovely place to be.

Brill pub. Tommy saved me a lovely curry tonight as was working till 9pm and took my left overs home. Lovely friendly staff. Also they do a brill roast. An always have things going on and brill bands.
