Really enjoyed going here today. Been meaning to go for ages. The service was fantastic. 5 of us for my wife's birthday. Lovely cafe, very small but didn't feel cramped The food was great. Really good prices these days. The pork in ginger had huge mounds of large ginger in. A side plate full we took out. Was a bit too much. Thats just my taste though. Apart from that I loved every dish. The duck in red curry paste is unreal. Will definitely go back

Took my wife for a meal last minute after googling Thai reastaurants near Sheffield one evening had mixed starters with a beef massaman curry and chicken green curry, big portions,very tasty and the best beef massaman I have ever tasted, also a mention to the lady who served us who was brilliant 10/10 all round amazing

The staff were very friendly, food arrived quickly, there was plenty of it. The food was tasty, but more westernised takeaway than authentic Thai. We ate in and felt it was a pleasant, good value experience. Some of the options on the set menu seemed a little bland, and under spiced. Maybe catering to less adventurous tastes.

It is a shame that tonight's meal was totally spoilt by very poor and slow service. The management placed more importance on the preparation of takeaway food rather than looking after customers in the restaurant. To add 'insult to injury' they also now add a service charge to the bill. This change in philosophy means we will not be visiting again.

The food was fantastic! The flavours are sooo good! The portions were generous, and the service was fantastic. The restaurant is very pretty and clean. Everything was brilliant!

This is our local Thai but if it wasn’t, we would be making the trip across the city for the wonderful food and service we received time after time! We visited this evening for another fantastic meal. The food is always excellent, with a wide range of authentic dishes at reasonable prices. There is also a good drinks menu And the service is warm and friendly! Thai hospitality at its finest! Give this place a try, you won’t regret it! We took friends here a little while ago and they said it was the best Thai food they had ever had in the UK!

Boring lacklustre food. Plenty of it but got bored eating it. Sauces thin and lacking , rice neither sticky nor fluffy. Prices Ok service ok but would not visit again nor recommend.

The service was great and Quick, I thought the food was ok but nothing special, later early in the morning i was violently sick and diarrhea to the extent i was nearly fainting rang my partner rang 101 and told them what i had to eat the last couple of days i they told her that with what other food I had eaten it would have been the seafood curry i had at the restaurant in their opinion. The Food Poisoning lasted a good few days which was horrible and I have never been in so much pain. I private messaged the cafe as i didn't want to broadcast in public and did not get a reply for over a week it might have been two weeks and I had to send another message then next day I did get a reply and after getting more and more angry with there replies they basically said that it cant be them they never make a mistake, you must have got food poisoning some where else. They wanted proof which I was unable to give them as I was to ill to do anything at the time. and again They stated without any proof it couldn't be them. Obviously in my opinion giving all the facts they had made a mistake!. In my opinion they had dealt with the situation awfully , I wont be going back and wont be having takeaways from them. The food from the Thai bistro cafe had given me the Food Poisoning in all probability and in my opinion! Please be careful Food with Poisoning every body can make a mistake but not the Thai Cafe Bistro!

This was our first visit to Thai Traveller and it will not be our last - we were greeted in a very freindly and welcoming manner and shown to our table. The whole experience was lovely and the food was fresh and very tasty.

A gem of a place we uncovered quite by chance! The meal was very good, friendly service and it's just a lovely little bistro. I've been telling everyone about it. Definitely not to be overlooked by the other Thai restaurants near by.

Got into the restaurant at 5pm when they opened there was already a lovely couple sitting in there waiting for there order to be taken. They ordered and a couple of mins later we placed our order to takeaway. We asked how long it would be and was told ready by half past 5. We went for a walk and came back at 5:30. Waited patiently while talking to the couple who were seated. There food was served and I was thinking we must be next but no. Apparently people placed orders during the day on the website and got preferential treatment over people who are already in the restaurant waiting. We finally got our meal at 5:55pm so we ended up waiting 55 mins. At one point we were going to cancel and get pizza a couple of doors down. no real apology and no form of compensation. They should of told us when we ordered it was gonna be and hour instead of 30 mins. On the plus side the food was fantastic and was worth the wait. Please just keep people informed.

Stumbled across this place as it is down the road from a hotel we use regularly when needing to stay in Sheffield. The value for money is exceptional and having just visited Thailand in July, can confirm the food is authentic. £19.95 for a bottle of Prosecco is a steal and the food was all delicious. Staff are all super friendly too!

STANDARD RESPONSE - "IT'S NOT READY (HA HA HA)" this was the response on arrival for the takeout. Even though I was told 30 mins to arrive.

Simple and beautifully authentic Thai food in an unassuming location. Always a warm welcome, the tofu curries and coconut rice are some of the best you can get and plenty of GF and vegan options

I live in Manchester so whenever I am staying in Sheffield I try to dine at the Thai Traveller. The staff are so friendly and the food is definitely worth the visit. I love a padthai and theirs is good. The fish dishes never disappoint. I can definitely recommend this restaurant for both dining in and takeaway.

Having travelled to Thailand for years on business, I so wanted this to be great, but sadly it wasn’t. Ordered a takeaway online - process was easy. Collection was absolutely fine. However, the food wasn’t good. The chicken (with cashew nuts) was very chewy and extremely greasy. So greasy I could see fat floating on top of the sauce. The pad cee aew noodles were disappointing and not like any other I’ve ever eaten. They were dry and pretty tasteless. I seem to be in the minority, but I doubt I’ll be ordering again.

We ordered takeaway at the weekend and really enjoyed this! Definitely our new go to Thai restaurant and takeaway! Excellent food at great prices, we will definitely be back very soon!

Really enjoyed our meal tonight... family birthday meal...... set me u D for 2 is an absolute winner.... plenty of food, really good value.... and you can even swap the dessert for a liqueur if you have eaten too much. Will definitely be visiting again....

Received a warm welcome to this small but pleasant restaurant. Recommend booking as there are only a few tables. Service was attentive, but we never felt rushed and food was incredably tasty. Lots of choice and food prices were fairly reasonable (for Thai food). Although licenced, it allows you to bring your own wine - great if like me you've specfic wine preferences. However, be mindful there's an excessive £5 per bottle corkage charge! As we we're with a group this added quite a bit to our bill. Restaurant also offers takeout which could get disruptive with people walking through this small venue constantly.

Visited here for a Christmas meal with a local group. Everything was fantastic. The staff were friendly and kind, the food was amazing- and such great value. I shared a set menu with someone and couldn't believe the choice of what I was given. I knew that there was going to be a big range of starters but I had mistakenly thought that we would have to pick one of the listed mains, not that we got all three of them to share! It meant I left feeling full (and I have a big appetite) and I got to try so many different flavours I might otherwise not have experienced. The Thai pancakes as a dessert were also so tasty, I've never had them before. A true neighbourhood gem, I wish I lived closer!

Have been having take away from here since 2020. Started very well but have had a number of issues with some dishes not being as they were. Have stuck with it despite this but final straw on Sat when I had to wait half an hour after I was told it would be ready, then got Chicken instead of prawns ordered and the chicken was definitely not good! Had a gelatinous consistency and didn’t taste of chicken at all. Won’t be using this place anymore I’m afraid.

went early but was allready quite full as it is quite small the food was very good the meat a little tough but sauce was authenticlly Thai, the beers a liitle expenive but over all good value

This place is excellent, full stop, if you like fast food don't go, if you like good food with an amazing selection, be patient, because good food comes to he/she, she/he who waits, enjoy.

The food here was very good, full of taste and fresh ingredients. The service was excellent too. Thai is not my number one choice in food by some way but this lovely little bistro delivered a pleasant surprise to my taste buds. If you love Thai cuisine you really need to visit here.

Super little place. - Book I was a walk in and only just got a table. Thai fishcakes to start, then mixed seafood for main which was outstanding. Included what I think were langoustine tails, but also very similar to slipper crab. Lovely flavours, nice and spicy, great service.

Excellent food for a party of 6 it was all hot came very quickly and extremely tasty - main courses were beautifully prepared and very generous portions - staff were very friendly and courteous would highly recommend.

I've visited a few times and honestly, the food can't be beaten. Some of the best Thai food in Sheffield at a reasonable price point. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

This is such an amazing Thai restaurant. All of their dishes are delicious! I ordered a Massaman curry and a tofu red curry, so good. The fried tofu in the red curry was on point as using fried tofu soaks up the curry sauce and also adds a nice texture to the dish (Sure you can have it with fresh tofu if you ask, but that would be a pile of mush in the dish..if you like baby food this would be the way to go) Would highly recommend this authentic Thai place.

Ordered thai tofu red curry, asked if it was made with fresh white tofu, informed that it was, unfortunately when we got home very disappointed to find it was made with deep fried tofu which is soaked in oil when pre prepared in bulk by their supplier. It’s in the bin.

Staying locally and at the last minute called and booked a table a hour before they closed the restaurant part, it’s small and intimate inside, but from the start we were made to feel welcome by the friendly staff. The menu is large with lots of choice, my dining companion had prior knowledge so the dishes chosen were on her recommendation and they were delicious. Lovely chicken, perfectly cooked cod, a real taste sensation. Beautifully presented and generous portions. Attentive staff finished off a lovely impromptu evening. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back to sample more of the menu.

Visited recently for the first time ( party of 4). Delighted to find a place that really delivers the authentic taste of Thailand. We ordered a selection of dishes, all of which were delicious and served with typical Thai hospitality. Brought back happy memories of Thailand. Would most definitely recommend.

A hidden gem and one of the best thai resteraunts in sheffield. As soon as me and my family entered we were welcomed with warm smiles. The food was absolutely delicious and the wait was less than a minute, This is one of the best resteraunts in sheffield and i recommende it to other people. We will come here again and again.
