We thought we would try this out for the first time as we have said we would. Very disappointed the food wasn't the best. Wouldn't class it as Thai. Been to the giggling Sqid a couple of times and it beats this place hands down. We won't be going back even though it's walking distance from where we live.

I highly recommend this Maidenhead gem. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and the Green Thai Curry was excellent. Worth the visit if you’re in the area.

I have been there several times. I would recommend seafood dishes and suggest avoiding dishes with beef.

I liked the place, but was not impressed. The food is ordinary, the interior is nice, but without a twist. I'll try something different next time.

Perplexed at the positive reviews that can only have been left by people who haven’t a clue what thai food is. The restaurant claims to be authentic. I ordered pad Thai. It tasted only of sugar. When I complained the waiter admitted that it was nothing like a pad Thai but “it’s how we make it here”. He then said it isn’t full of sugar but honey. In a pad Thai! If anything I’d have given the benefit of the doubt and presumed it was palm sugar but no - honey. In a pad Thai. A disgrace to Thailand’s national dish. I told him this and he said “thats what our customers like”. So he admits that their customers are ignoramuses who want to eat plates of sugar as they have no palate. I only ate a few mouthfuls and got diabetes. I couldn’t eat any more. If you have any idea Thai food is supposed to taste like, avoid this place. Service ok but waiter very pushy trying to persuade people to have more and clean for drinks and puddings.

Superb buffet Sunday lunch for Father's day occasion. Lots of variety and flavours in food and cuisine. Thai restaurant. Ample parking. Big seating area on the ground floor and a few seats on the 1st floor as well. Great to eat together in groups or families.

It seems the buffet on Sunday gets great reviews, feed your belly for a reasonable price. However when it comes to takeaway it’s a different story. Staying 3 min walk from restaurant in hotel got back rice was lukewarm warm half filled container. Thai green curry was all sauce 6 prawns a few strands of vegetables 7 small pieces of chilli and filled with sauce By far the worst Thai takeaway I have ever had In terms of amount given Daylight robbery for £18 If you had delivered that dish to my table for what would be a higher price I would have sent it back. So if you’re ordering to be delivered good luck with getting a hot dinner. Trouble is when you get a delivery you’re stuck with what you get. Never again

Experienced the Sunday buffet for the first time. It doesn’t disappoint.

Spur of the moment visit to thai orchid as I was in the area, food was quality and the atmosphere was warm and authentic. Good amount of parking will definitely will visit again.

Everything was fantastic, the price, the speed. The food was fantastic and the service was great, very friendly. They even came outside to give me the handkerchief I left inside by mistake.

My favourite Thai Restaurant of all time. The staff here are very welcoming (we've been coming here for years, so they know us by our first names). Food is always freshly prepared, hot and tasty. I usually have either numbers 43 and 45. Our waiter friend always remembers what we have! They have parking at the back and limited out front, but it is tight.

MY GOODNESS! A Buffet with all dishes meticulously prepared to authentic perfection. One of the very few buffets where the desserts are equally good. Best Sunday buffet in the UK! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We visited today for the 4th or 5th time in 10years and once again left with smiles on our faces. It’s now about a 25mile drive for us but worth the drive. The satay chicken is the best I’ve ever had. The people of Maidenhead need to get behind this place before they lose it as the owner said it’s been increasingly hard since covid. I would be gutted to see this place go. An honest, good quality and independent restaurant.

Visited this restaurant while travelling for business as the reviews were fantastic. Dinner totally justified the exceptional reviews that others have posted, the service was exemplary, and the food was fantastic. The lamb pad prig was absolutely delicious with a beautiful balance of flavours and spice. Only disappointment is that I don't live in the area!!

The food is amazing,service sublime, however the prices keep rising and rising to eat in..for instance you can get a king prawn Pad Thai and price is £15.95 eat in/ £11 take away , which is outrageous and will ultimately be their demise

Beware! The Pad Thai is sold without the peanuts- if you don’t request, they will forget this is an important part of the dish.

Food was good although starter portion were small. Prices are on the higher sides. Drinks are very expensive.

Very good food but could do with more dips for prawn crackers as after a couple there is no sauce left. Very friendly owner but constantly felt like our meal was interrupted by lots of people picking up take aways which happened right by our table

Been going to the restaurant since it opened 20+ years ago. Went back at the weekend for the first time in a longtime and the good and the service is still just as good. Nice to hi to a restaurant that isn’t a chain.

We ordered Pad Thai and Singapore noodles as a take away. This is our normal order hence we noticed the difference instantly that both these dishes were not prepared as per the normal standard and the oil used in these two dishes was not good at all. We called to notify the restaurant that we weren't happy with our order, and the quality wasn't up to the mark. The manager didn't seemed interested to hear us out, and said that we haven't changed our chef in the past 20 years and just hung up the call. We didn't expect a refund or anything in return. Just wanted to let them know about what we felt about the food. Definitely we will not be ordering again from them due to this poor experience and the food quality seems to be getting low. 😕

Excellent food and lovely staff as usual.

Firstly, the sign states ‘Authentic Thai’. I asked for no fish, he told me no, fish oil in all the food on the menu, that’s how it comes from the factory. All foods came at different times, (must only have one microwave), the crockery was hot and the food was warm. Poor quality off vegetables, watery sauces and curry. Didn’t choose sticky rice but had to cut portions of rice from the bowl. Over-salted, Over-priced and over-rated. A big let down for what real Thai cuisine is. Four diners, sweet and sour, curry, noodles and small plates of vegetables and two rice.

First time here after hearing good things. Parking was impossible so had to park up the road. Nice welcome from I assume the owner on arrival. Place is quite small and compact. It was a buffet on a Sunday lunch for a very reasonable 20.00. They had four food buffet areas with an excellent choice of soups, starters, mains and deserts. All were excellent with the highlights being the 2 types of soup. Seafood and Thai red type. The pork belly with crackling. And peking Crispy duck. Good selection of drinks also. You get a real family feel about the place. Confirmed while I was watching the father (I assume) spending 15 minutes to remove a child’s toy car which had got stuck behind the radiator. Much to the young child’s delight. The owner and the child both seemed genuinely happy when it finally fell out. Things like that I feel make a difference !! Cannot fault the place. Only negative is (1) it can get booked up. (2) parking. Car park was totally full and just got lucky finding a space on a side road 4 mins walk up the road. Highly recommended and Will definitely return.

Not a great option for vegan food. Vegetable Pad Thai w no egg was just noodle and sauce. Portion was small. No lunch options for vegans either so we split a dinner. Restaurant was clean and staff was courteous

Thai food is one of our favourite cuisines. So, when we moved to Maidenhead, we were excited to discover that there were several Thai restaurants in town. In London, we had been spoilt for choice when it came to Thai restaurants, and the standard of food selection was great but the greatest I’ve had. I ordered the following from the menu which I’ve provided pictures of food and prices: #9 POH PIAH TOD #10 GOONG HOR PAR #25 M CHICKEN #30 NEUA GATA #106 KHAO NEOL #107 COCONUT RICE The prices were slightly higher than we were used to paying for Thai food in London. The service was excellent and the food was not be the best Thai food in the UK, but it's definitely worth trying if you're in the area. On Sundays, they offer an all-you-can-eat buffet for just 20 pounds. This is a great deal, for all the selections they have listed Overall, we had a good experience at Thai Orchid and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new place to try Thai food.

I took my son out for the buffet all you can eat meal yesterday (Sunday 7th August 2022) His birthday is on the 9th so i did some research into all you can eat buffet restaurants in the area and a google search came up with Thai Orchid. The reviews were excellent so i decided it would be the perfect place for us to try. WOW, it was a real revelation, an Aladdin's cave of Thai art, elephants and food. Immediately you are hit with a real cacophony of amazing aromas and an amazing selection of food delights waiting to be enjoyed. Our waiter was a real character, he took us up to "business class", which was upstairs. There was lots to choose from and all the available space was well utilised. However, the choice wasn't thankfully overwhelming, i think there was about 50 dishes from starters to mains to choose from. We chose a plate of starters each and our waiter was on hand to take several pictures of us with our food, a nice touch. We returned to business class to find that this part of the restaurant was filling up nicely. We ate our starters which were a real treat to start the proceedings. My son and i needed a well earned breather before heading down for our next plateful. We are real foodies so discussion was how good the food was. We went back downstairs and the restaurant was full now. There wasn't an empty seat in sight. This is a really good indication of how good a restaurant is in my opinion. I got talking to a few people and they were there for the first time also. We all agreed how good it was. We ate so much amazing and flavourful food it was unbelievable. I would recommend a bowl of the thick satay sauce, which was loaded with nuts, lemongrass and of course coconut milk, an amazing accompaniment to lots of the dishes or just to serve as a dip for the starters. We wished we could have taken a container of this home but alas not. Our waiter took more pictures of us eating, again another nice touch. I didn't mention, all the tables are glass topped with the most amazing wooden carvings underneath. Certainly lots to discuss while we were there and lots to discuss afterwards and definitely an all you can eat buffet experience to be savoured for a long time to come. I would say personally that we have filtered out a lot of truly awful all you can eat buffets, but this may now have taken the new crown for us. My son and i were literally gobsmacked by the outstanding appearance of everything, the décor, the food and of course the friendliness of our waiter. My son said I'd chosen an amazing location and restaurant and we both agreed we will be returning again and again and possibly again. Thai Orchid also offer a menu service and now also a take away service, both of which I'm sure are just as good. There will always be people who have good and bad experiences and people whose taste expectations dont match the restaurant and yes you have to go there to find out but i speak for myself as well as my son when we say that this was a truly unique all you can eat buffet easily within reach locally. We have nothing bad to say at all, however the only time for the buffet is 1200-1430 on a Sunday, which for some might be too early, but judging on how rammed the restaurant was it certainly didn't put anyone off and at £20 per person was excellent value. The other great thing is the restaurant is located opposite the Thames at Maidenhead so you have a nice place to walk off a full tummy afterwards. This is a completely genuine review, written without bias. I write from my personal experience and thought it was that good, i should let everyone else know too how good it is too. I guess if you don't like or appreciate Thai cuisine then this isn't for you, but if like my son and i and all of the other happy customers yesterday we loved it. Thank you Thai Orchid, we will most definitely see you again

I love this place. The staff hasn't changed much since its opening 18y ago, all of them lovely and polite. Food is divine and the whole atmosphere is very nice.

We Visited the Thai Orchid one day after my Bodybuilding Competition in Maidenhead. We were very suprised by the friendly stuff. We got a seat upstairs, it was a little dark up there but as I went down to visit the buffet the chef comes to me and saied that they got a new Table for me it was the best place directly at the window downstairs were it was quiet. Then i Visited the Buffed and it was a very good selection of all foods and here comes the reason why there's one star missing, the sushi was out and as i asked when they will do a refill the stuff friendly denied. That was very sad i wanted to taste it. I took from every sort of food one or two pieces to taste the whole buffed and there were only 3 things that havn't found my taste but you will never like everything at a buffed same my wife saied. Very good food also the desserts were amazing maybe there can be one or two more sorts of cakes. But all in all staff food and selection of food was really good, we can highly recommend this restaurant. Best wishes from Austria.

Great choice of hot and cold starters and lovely mains and puds too...drinks very pricey and to charge £10 per child is uncalled for especially the 2 year old 🤔🙄😏 we had 3 children with us the other 2 are 6 years old and none of them ate much and certainly not £10 worth as not much there for them to eat really. Unfortunately we wont ever go again with the children as they also had to pay same price for drinks as the adults and when we queried it we were told if they touch the food they pay for the food...bit rude I thought such a shame really 😔😕£10

We have been coming back here for 10 years. Only Thai Restaurant & takeaway in the area. Their buffet is lovely, deserts lovely and their Tom Yam soup the best I've tried. The owners are friendly, the service is superb and the decor is cosy and inviting. I've only knocked one star off because they over-sugar some of the dishes too much - avoid the Pad Thai and Massaman curry; it's like eating syrup-covered Frosties!

We dined in as a pre-Christmas night out. Friendly & welcoming service from start to finish which ended in receiving a nice Christmas card from all at Thai Orchid. It has a really nice atmosphere, authentic feel to the interior and very clean. The courses we ordered were packed full of flavours, freshly cooked & nicely presented. This is a lovely venue, in a beautiful location by the Thames not far from Maidenhead centre which is easy walking or by car with plenty of parking behind the restaurant. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🎅🏻🎄

Fabulous evening, food and service were excellent. One of the best beef massamans I've ever had. There was a group of us there and we were treated like family, I can highly recommend the place. Stunning location, interior beautifully decorated. Will definitely be back. Covid restrictions in place.
