While food was quite nice unfortunately portion sizes were very small for the price and when we asked why they were so small excuses were made including "pad thai is a side dish" and not a main. Portion was taken back and reappeared with 2 extra noodles. Disappointing

Ordered beef with ginger, the beef was grey and tough, there was no flavour of ginger whatsoever! The onions and peppers tasted boiled and again had no flavour. Informed the waitress as she collected the plates and was offered no apology. We then waited around 20 minutes to get the bill, after asking. Maybe it was a one off but my dish was terrible and the service not great at all

In my personal view this is the best Thai in Thanet, based upon the food, atmosphere and price. Visited for the first time on a Friday in early October. Busy at 7pm. Loved the jungle curry and my wife had an excellent Duck stir fry. The starter mix was also excellent.

Excellent customer service. I ordered the tofu starter and didn't like it at all. I must admit I thought it hadn't been cooked properly but that was how they served it. Without hesitation I was offered an alternative and wasn't charged extra. The seafood green curry was excellent, the squid so well cooked I could cut it with my spoon. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, and I couldn't eat another mouthful

I visited this restaurant with a friend during the recent local folk festival - so we were lucky to get a table - given that there are only about 8 of them in this small establishment. Located in a residential street just off the town centre, it is a lovely spot to watch the world go by. The place is independently owned and family run, so has a relaxed friendly feel (note cash only and no alcohol licence, so there's a £2 corkage charge unless ordering soft drinks). The food is lovely and authentic. I ordered the thai fish cakes followed by a green beef curry for a very reasonable £8.90 served with coconut rice which is lovely and creamy. The curry itself was delicious with just the right level of spice. This place is obviously very popular with locals, so we'll book next time!

We were very lucky to get a table as walk-ins, but we arrived early in the evening and the place soon filled with pre-booked guests... the reason why soon became apparent. The 'bring your own booze' policy keeps prices low, but the quality and presentation fo the food was of the highest order and deserved every penny being charged. The mixed starters ofr two was devine, as was the seafood and ginger stir fry, a true delight. Lovely and friendly service.

We`ve lived in Broadstairs for many years and spent many pleasant evenings at Thai Four Two but unfortunately their standards have been dropping over the last few years and do not seem to be on the up nor likely to return to their once excellent rating. This place we really used to love however a little disappointed. The food was good but we wouldn't say amazing, possibly a little worse than previously. The staff are clearly interested only in serving and not asking if your meal is good. Also when paying they clearly don't wish to give you change. I am happy to tip but do find a £8 tip on £20 meal where we brought our own wine with us was exorbitant; We had to wait for the change while they tried to ignore us and then reluctantly gave to us, it wasn't busy at that time.

My partner and I booked at this restaurant for an evening meal. The staff seemed more interested than sorting out home deliveries rather than seated customers. We were sat near to the kitchen where the smell of burnt oil was overwhelming for us and the people on the next table who began to cough. We couldn’t move as no other free tables. Our starter arrived which was a sharing platter. The plate was stone cold and some of the starter was just warm. What was served was greasy stodgy and bland. After taking a bite of the grey very flat and disgusting fish cake I felt unwell shortly after I developed a stomach ache and we had to leave. We didn’t stay for a main course. The staff didn’t ask if we had enjoyed the food, if they had they would have got an honest answer! Would never return to this restaurant.

We were recommended this place by our hosts and came on a Monday evening. It is a small family run place with maybe 25 covers. They have a good sized menu with some more unusual dishes as well as those you expect to see. The quality of all the food is first rate although they do not have access to such a range of Thai ingredients as restaurants in London. The Pad Thai was done with beansprouts which I have not seen before. I would especially recommend the very reasonably priced Thai desserts especially the banana fritter in coconut milk with sesame. Service is friendly and the young waitress (daughter of owner) was delightful. The jasmine tea was bags - a bit disappointing and I saw the coffee was instant so avoided. The restaurant is not cheap for a Thai but that is ok as the quality is high. Portions were a bit small though. Bring your own alcohol - there is a corkage charge I think. Reserve a table though as even on a Monday it was very busy.

Clearly the locals know this place doesn't have a licence and doesn't take cards but those of us visiting don't and need informing of this before we sit at a table and eat. Had to leave the place twice during the meal to go and buy wine and then again when the owner informed us on presentation of a card in payment that it was cash only. No signage anywhere in the place to convey these two key pieces of information! Told the guy it would be useful to tell his customers this. He looked blankly. Clearly doesn't want new custom. Average 'British' Thai food and not authentic Thai. Anyone who has been to Thailand knows that Thai curries have a thin sauce, not thick like this and carrots and peas are never used. Not a mushroom in sight. You will also never find 'ribs' on a Thai menu. Wouldn't return.

Lively atmosphere- interesting interior and a good value menu. The restaurant does not have a licence but that provides good opportunities for buying quality wine and not paying excessively for the pleasure. We spend a couple of months in Thailand each year visiting family and are always cautious about finding authentic Thai food in the UK. There are several pluses about this restaurant. We managed to get the last available table on a walk in basis on a Saturday. It's cosy and not huge. The guy and woman seemingly running it were extremely efficient and welcoming. There's a fair few Chinese interloping dishes on the menu, I guess to keep the punters who maybe less au fait with real Thai food happy. Thai food can and should stand alone frankly it's interesting and tasty enough. You bring your own wine here and frankly I like that arrangement a lot! Just be aware before you go and also they don't do card payments just cash, again go prepared and minus the cost of restaurant priced wine it'll be very affordable. The red curry was spicy, the jasmine rice excellent. The tom yam soup was fairly good. All in all it's certainly better than Da's Thai in Broadstairs which we thought was disappointing, though clearly others don't think so. There's one more to try and then we'll decide if we are going to eat Thai in Broadstairs which one we'll return to.

Every time we stay in Broadstairs, we have Thai take-out from Thai Four Two. Each and every time the food is fresh, nicely packed for take-out, and reasonably priced. I am always greeted with a smile when I walk in to place my order. I highly recommend Thai Four Two and can't wait to return to Broadstairs and enjoy a night or 2 (or 3) of take-out once again.

We visited this resturant for the first time a month ago and we were very impressed. The food was beautiful cooked and delicious and the service was great too. We are looking forward to our next visit and must remember to take our own booze next time as BYO.

We love this restaurant! Authentic Thai food, always fresh. First class quality dishes, always cooked to perfection. Never disappoints. Great service, ambience. No other Thai restaurant can compare!

I came with friends who have visited regularly for many years. The food is very good indeed. This is a small restaurant and does not look particularly inviting although it is absolutely fine inside. However, the food is well cooked and tasty. It is no good eating in a restaurant that looks spectacular if the food lets you down. I was very happy with this restaurant and would come again. The staff enquire as to your taste and cook to order

Came for my second visit and it did not disappoint. The most amazing flavours combined with a good atmosphere. Favourite dish must be the sizzling tiger. Everything was cooked to perfection.

Simply the best Thai restaurant that I've visited. Food is authentic. The atmosphere is intimate and the staff are very attentive. The best thing is its BYOB which make the overall meal exceptionally good value at around £20-25 per head

Book a table at this restaurant which was very busy. They don't have a licence so it's bring your own drink. Staff were friendly and the food was very good.

We went to this restaurant this weekend and had a lovely meal. We had mixed starters followed by the sizzling prawns which were very good. I love the fact that you can bring your own wine as it keeps the cost down and you can bring something really nice. The service is ok and the food was served within an acceptable time. An authentic and cosy environment. There are two other Thai restaurants in Broadstairs but this is definitely my favourite.

A relatively well priced Thai restaurant. Ordered takeaway which was of 'ok' standard with some of the meats better than others (beef was rather chewy where as chicken was rather nice). when picking up our order the food served in the restaurant itself all looked very nice and probably a bit better quality that our take out. Cash only but they did advise us that when we called the order through.

I don't know why it took me so long to go to visit this one for the first time. A really unique and authentic taste with friendly hosts and an amazing view over the Ramsgate harbour. Definitely going back!

Lovely friendly service but not great selection of drinks. Nice outdoor seating area. Clientele seemed to be of the 50+ demographic which is fine but perhaps if you are a younger group then I would not say this would be the place to meet contemporaries.

Amazing service at this cute lil restaurant!! Tina managed to squeeze us in on a busy Saturday night and even ensured our food was prepared in time for us to rush off for a gig. They were very accommodating to dietary requirements and everything was delicious - I look forward to visiting again next time I’m in Margate!
