The Hussar Kitchen in Thanet

We had a family Christening for my Great Granddaughter Raven and the Hussar was perfect plenty of room for everyone and a lovely big play area for the young children to play which they did and enjoyed every minute of fun and plenty of seating for most. We all had a lovely time thank you. 😊

The lady that welcomed us was friendly and polite. It is a shame breakfast is not included in the price, in fact, no breakfast option at all. Could do with more than just two coffee sachets. Don’t expect too much for the cost, it is basic room and just right for a cheap stay. Did notice the wardrobe in the room was falling apart, but as my wife and I had overnight bag, usage of the wardrobe was not necessary. The main entrance door lock was stiff in unlocking, it just needs WD40; wonder if they had thought of that? It is close to Margate centre and the sea front. I would stay again for an overnight stay, but do not think longer than two nights as breakfast is not included in the price, or option to have breakfast, even though the information sheet in the room indicated breakfast! That needs to be amended.

Was hired as a DJ for a private event in the marquee at the rear of the venue. Great on site parking. Owners were very pleasant and helpful. Opening a side gate for me to load and unload equipment. Self contained marquee was great

Spent the weekend down margate managed to book this hotel. I highly recommend a stay here it's a 10 minute walk from the beach front very nice staff and very clean hotel to stay in the rooms are fab can't recommend them enough. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Went to a baby shower which was being held in the marquee outside in the garden, the marquee had been made into a beautiful venue. We had a very large cheese platter which was absolutely lovely and very different 😁.

Tuesday 5th Feb. 3 of us dropped in to try the TUESDAY THAI FOOD TONIGHT. Top service & Food was lovely full of Great flavours @ reasonable prices too. Will be dropping in again soon. Thankyou 5✨️

A welcoming local pub where you get the look...you know you are a stranger... OK you are from down the road...or somewhere else on the planet ...but then the welcome smiles start and you are served with a smile...and the locals are hospitable, and the place is clean as well as cosy... and the laughter and conviviality starts.

Friday 15th December 2023 I stopped in room 2 of this pub/ hotel on Thursday, 14th December The room was great. The bed was comfy, the central heating was good, and the bathroom ample sized well laid out shame no shower jel like. There was good free coffee and condiments to make it in the room Tv a bit on the small size, but OK The reason I did not give 5 stars was that 4 was the pub , on the bar, it had 4 handpumps, but it did not have any hand pumped real ales on this as a real ale drinkers I found to be poor so only 4 stars given sadly

Can't comment on the rooms as I've not stayed there but the pub is a good place and has everything I like to see - good selection at the bar and reasonable prices (£1 cheaper than my local in Canterbury), friendly staff and manager, jukebox, dart board, pool table, quiz machines and fruities if that's your thing as well as a nice spacious garden.

Stopped in for a beer and something to eat after work, nice pub with good service and great food!

Great service, nice location with plenty of parking and the food was amazing. Really enjoyed it.

Perfect for a family roast. Busy pub, with a restaurant area. Very relaxing comfortable atmosphere. Kitchen was very busy, we had to wait a bit longer than we would have liked, but the wait did not disappoint. Freshly home cooked great quality food. The vegetable all tasted as you would like and the meat was cooked perfectly. All condiments were bought out and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend

The Hussar restaurant is in a room just off of the main bar. The restaurant was not busy at all and yet it took over half an hour to get starters and a following 45 minutes to an hour to get our mains.....there were only 5 of us. The Hussar restaurant area is very shoddy, poorly decorated and you have NO hope of enjoying a quiet meal. This is due to the absolute racket coming from the bar area. There was football on when we arrived and the sound was deafening. After football the jukebox was on and the sound levels did not improve. The food was actually really good despite the wait. This pub needs to make a clear separation between the restaurant and bar. There is absolutely no way to enjoy a meal and chat with friends and family if you have to physically shout across the table to each other. I will not be returning. The only reason i gave it 2 stars was that the food was good.

We were staying in the pub/hotel and were lucky enough to get a table as it was very busy. The menu on the night we were there (Tuesday) was Thai and traditional pub grub/pizza. We opted for a Ploughmans and a pizza, and both came with a smile from the lovely chef and tasted great. Luckily two portions of sticky toffee pudding came our way too for a well-deserved treat. Loved this place.

We last visited The Hussar for a roast well before the pandemic struck and it was good. Not been back since new owners took over. Decided to go for a Sunday roast yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. Everything about it was perfect - we chose pork, but watched others diners getting their choices which appeared to be just as good. Huge plate of meat and homemade Yorkshire. Roast potatoes were crispy as they should be. Wonderful gravy in a generous serving boat. Bowls of fresh vegetables with carrots, cabbage and broccoli cooked to perfection. Plus a separate cauliflower bake. Service was attentive and excellent. Can’t fault it. All for just under £12. Starters and sweets available, but would not have had the room for any other food. Highly recommend it.
