I don't know why it took me so long to go to visit this one for the first time. A really unique and authentic taste with friendly hosts and an amazing view over the Ramsgate harbour. Definitely going back!

First class food, ridiculously reasonable prices, absolutely excellent lady chefs and a truly . This restaurant has to be one of Ramsgate's greatest secrets! Our party of five were amazed by the truly authentic dishes. And every dish we had was delicious! We started with Thai prawns and a bottle of champagne then moved on to Thai mixed platters, before feasting on rich succulent Beef Penang, sizzling Sea Food, Chicken Pad Thai, and - oh, truly the creamiest most luscious selection of seafood and meat in coconut milk, basil and fresh fragrant lemon grass. Gorgeous steamed and fried rice, ever helpful servers, wonderful proper authentic Thai lady chefs, and an amazing professional owner who looked after every table with ease and grace. Because of its beautiful position high up, overlooking the harbour, diners who haven't visited this restaurant before may be forgiven for imagining this authentic Thai restaurant has expensive prices. But it doesn't! The cost for all five of us including beers, food, juices, bottle of champagne and two bottles of Pellegrino was only £170. How it's possible for this beautifully located restaurant to have such reasonable charges is hard to understand given the wonderful quality of the food, the perfect service and stunning location. While there we spotted another party of five among whom were two well known pop star guitarists. However, they dined in peace lost in the deliciousness of the food, as did we all, and we were sad to leave this wonderful magical restaurant at the end of the evening. Never having been here before we felt like we'd discovered the best little down home style secret Thai restaurant ever! If you've never been, go immediately. If you want the best most authentic Thai food, go immediately and book a table fast! If what you desire is an explosion of gorgeous and delectable flavours all beautifully combined with a profusion of palate pleasing tastes, go immediately. You will be 100% satisfied. That's a definite promise!

An intimate restaurant overlooking the harbour. The food was very good, staff were friendly and efficient,all in all an excellent evening, and good value for money.

We had a meal here this week. It was excellent. Great food, service and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend eating here, it’s lovely. Enjoy!

Everything super freshly prepared. Even if you have an allergy or don't like something. Everything is washed by hand after each use. The food was delicious. Adjusted to your spiciness. If I'm in the area I will definitely go back.

First visit. Highly recommended if visiting at the weekend it's worth booking a table. All areas of hospitality are 10 out of 10 and reasonably priced. Food was fresh and used quality products, and service faultless. Definite return planned.

Don't go there, we waited 1 hour and the French Merlot is Chilean! So we went to the fish and chips, we had reserved a table at 8:30 p.m. and had to return at 9 p.m.

Looking for somewhere to eat whilst in Ramsgate. One of our party had eaten here two weeks prior and said how good it was. Phoned on the off chance of getting a table and asked if we could wait twenty minutes? True to their word the table was ready in twenty minutes. Would highly recommend this restaurant to diners.

I wanted to eat there today, lovely warm Tuesday evening, and sit outside. I was looking forward to a nice curry. The owner said he would lose to much money if there is only one person on a table for 4 outside. And there were only tables for 4. Fair enough. So i sat down inside in a completely empty restaurant. I made the mistake to choose not the tiny table next to the entrance door where there is constant traffic, but a different table, unfortunately again a table for 4. Again the guy came over and said i can‘t sit there neither. So i gave up and left. A shame, i always had a good meal there, but with a group of people. It seem that when you are on your own, you are less welcome, because you don‘t bring so much money. i won‘t come back, but the owner made it clear that he does not care that i was not happy about the treatment.

Visiting Ramsgate for the weekend and managed to get in here for Friday night. What a find, food spot on service spot on with friendly staff and owner, will definitely be back when visiting the area again.

I really did like this place but they made a mistake where they placed us and we had to be moved. No biggy and they apologised. A nice touch, considering the price we would be paying, could have been a glass of wine or a beer on the house or at a reduction in price. The food was delicious and the drinks were reasonably priced. The ambience was good. It's a little tight indoors but that seems to add to the ambience. There are tables outdoors and for those who like to eat al fresco. This is a plus and it's no fault of the owner if the weather is inclement but do plan ahead. We had a starter and a main course and with drinks and a tip we paid in the region of £80 for two. We would very much like to return.

A great place in Ramsgate to eat delicious food. We have been living nearby for three years and only today we visited this restaurant for the first time. We will come back because the food was phenomenal and the service was excellent. I recommend it to everyone ❤️

Best Thai food out of Thailand, staff are very friendly and great views overlooking harbour. Had mixed starters, chicken Panang and seafood hotplate with egg fried rice- all dishes were delicious! £20-25 per person, great value for money, will definitely be back!

A brilliant restaurant, with great food and owners.

Small characterful restaurant overlooking the harbour. Must be fantastic in the summer eating outside. Friendly and attentive service. We are both vegetarian so we had both the red and green curries, which we were equally delicious. Pad Thai noodles and cashew rice were perfect accompaniments. We will definitely be back👍🏻

We took a chance last Saturday night & turned up to eat without having pre-booked, the Manager & Staff were so nice and managed to squeeze us in! The food was great, the Manager & Staff so polite & friendly & we had a marvellous time. The prices were also very reasonable!! Highly recommended, we would defo go back!!

I've been living in Ramsgate for the last 10 years..and my biggest regret so far is not trying this place sooner -it's quickly become my absolute favourite place in Thanet. It's a true treasure to have in our town! The food is simply incredible, what a truly amazing chef 🖤 I have not eaten something that made me so excited in so long. Just got home from another great meal at The Thai Orchid. It was really bust with all the tables inside and out occupied. Wonderful atmosphere.

Having sailed to Ramsgate in June had a fantastic meal there with our crew. On return home told my wife of fantastic meal. Returned with wife in July and spent both nights having fantastic meals at this restaurant, The food was great, the service was great and yet all provided at excellent value for money. If in or around Ramsgate i highly recommend this restaurant and strongly advise "get cooked in". Thanks so much.

Ate here for the first time a few weeks ago, they were lovely. Service was spot on, very friendly chap who was enthusiastic to have us. I would say the starters were average so personally we probably wouldn't have them again, however, the mains were to die for. We had the duck fried rice, prawn panang and the red duck. All were faultless. View of the harbour and other busy restaurants close by made for a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

We have visited Thai Orchid for the 3rd time with a year and would recommend this establishment to all.. food is amazing, helpful friendly staff, I feel the costing is good value for great, freshly prepared food. Views over Ramsgate harbour on a warm night always help also.

We visited the Thai Orchidagain last night. We discovered this restaurant over eight years ago when we moved to Thanet. Tim ran it then and the food was always great. Just over three years ago, Michael took it over and upgraded the furniture. He introduced take aways when the lockdown occured to keep the business going. One common factor throughout all of this has been the Chef, Nok. How she prepares such superb dishes is amazing. Well done and thank you to Michael, Nok and all the team.

Staying in Ramsgate for the bank holiday weekend and as my husband and I were walking past, decided to go in for a meal. We were asked to return in 15 minutes as it was quite busy, which was no problem for us to do. So glad we returned. It is the first time we’ve been to a Thai restaurant. It was absolutely amazing. The food was so fresh, light and fragrant. We shared chicken satay to start. My husband had chicken pad Thai and I had a green chicken curry with coconut rice. I tried my husband meal to taste and it was just as delicious as my curry. The waiter was helpful and knowledgeable with the menu. He was extremely pleasant. Every table was filled inside and outside the restaurant. The waiter had to continually turn walking customers away and numerous people phoning for a table. Booking in advance is advised. If we lived here the this restaurant would become a regular haunt for us. Definitely highly recommended to dine here.

Ive worked away in Ramsgate for over 5 years and I've missed out on this little gem. Friendly staff, lovely little restaurant and the food is absolutely stunning. I had the mixed starter and green thai curry with garlic rice, possibly the best thai curry I've ever had and the prices are not too bad either. Well worth a visit I'll definitely go again 🙂

A Thai restaurant that doesn’t sell prawn crackers or sticky rice !! Pan yang curry looked like it was made with bisto gravy, couldn’t eat the chicken satay it looked like some processed turkey twizzler. This was by far the worst Thai food I have ever eaten Avoid at all costs.

A bit disappointed with this meal. Spring rolls were small and very similar to supermarket frozen spring rolls. Not worth £5. Curries were fine but a bit vague and lacked unique flavour. Also lacked vegetables. Staff were lovely however food quality let them down.

Michael and his team really do offer superb Thai food. everything is present very nicely, it has wonderful flavour and if that is not enough, the view of Ramsgate harbor is outstanding

We have been coming here for 5 years, and the experience is always terrific. You feel like you are hosted by a friend, and the food is fantastic. The service is attentive and timely, and Michael runs the place smoothly. His team is superb as well. Foodwise, good portions of lovely made classics, tom yum, tom kha, pad thai, seafood hotpot, etc. Dishes can be spiced up if requested. Good selection of beers , wines, etc. On a summer evening when still light at 9pm it is just lovely to have dinner outside, overlooking the harbour. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We hadn't visited Ramsgate for getting on for two years (due to obvious "circumstances") but returned for an overnighter on Sept 24th. Very glad we did. We had the surprise of the Royal Harbour's 200th anniversary celebrations (which we had no idea were taking place)...

Having eaten at many Thai restaurants in the UK and Thailand was a little disappointed with our meal which, whilst tasty, didn’t deliver that something special. Had the mix starters and two curries with rice and noodles. Rice portions always too big and hate to see food being wasted.
