T.G.I. Friday's Sheffield Meadowhall in Sheffield

Disappointed and underwhelmed, last visit to a restaurant we have used frequently, we had the glazed smash burger and as mentioned it isn’t value for money, two very thin burgers, couldn’t taste the glaze and warm at best, the potion sizing has shrunk drastically to the point most meals are on children’s plates, the service wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great, constantly asking for more cutlery, drinks, napkins etc Music is louder than needed and the tables and seats are sticky and well worn, sad to say it’s our last visit to an overpriced venue that is past its best. Not very busy but service is as if it’s full capacity.

I am not sure what’s happened to TGIs in recent years but it’s going down hill rapidly…..I can remember when the food was good quality with an extensive menu now the menu is very small, the food is terrible and tasteless and mega over priced for what you get. After a recent visit I felt I had to leave some feedback as this will definitely be our last ever visit, we have been a few times recently and not enjoyed a single meal. It is a shame I can remember when TGIs had the best cheese and bacon potato skins, burgers they were famous for and amazing dishes like sizzling chicken with the cheesy mash etc these are all a thing of the past…. Such a shame I honestly don’t know how they are still open as the restaurants seem so quiet now to what they used to be, I now have distant memories of noisy restaurants with good tasty food, full of life with happy staff and a fun atmosphere.

Service is horrific, lots of staff doing nothing Always seems to be the case at TGI, training must be nonexistent. Food ok

Our first time at TGI Fridays, Lara was absolutely amazing, nothing was too much and food outstanding! Will certainly be back again.

Went there for a birthday celebration. It was really nice. Food was fantastic. Service were polite and helpful. The food came out within good time only disappointment was on the ultimate birthday Sundae. You’re not able to get a sparkler in the meadowhall branch and there is no disclaimer for this, even though this sundae is heavily advertised throughout the restaurant. Other than that everything was fantastic and we had a great time.

Lillie was our server who was very polite, accommodating and provided an efficient service. Also the food was very nice and we didn’t have a long wait

Service was great, thanks to Maria for doing a great job. The menu looked great and ordered the smash burger with glaze. Was really dissappointing given the price as the burger was luke warm and the 2 patties were very thin or maybe there was only 1 patty split into two. The chips were good and hot though. But as others have pointed out you'd get something similar in a fast food place and it might even come out hot. Marked the atmosphere down as its 3° outside and was quite chilly in the restaurant. Most of the diners including me were wearing their jackets. I have a budget (as travelling for work) and I blew that on a burger and a soft drink so went home hungry (and cold). Won't be returning which is a shame because as I say the service was good and welcoming, just a shame about the food.

Myself and my partner went to this restaurant today for some lunch. We were sat down reasonably fast but everything seemed to slow down to a snails pace after that. After a decent wait we eventually got asked for a drink order and ordered our food whilst we were at it. It then took another 15 minutes to get our drinks and another 10-15 for our food. I would have thought after 30 minutes of cooking the food would be at least hot. Well I was wrong, as I bit into the chicken wing I was stunned to find it still frozen. My partner then checked her burger which again was stone cold. We asked for a manager and to his credit he was apoligetic and didn’t charge us for anything including our drinks which was appreciated but didn’t seem to like the fact my partner mention food hygiene tempetures. It is no surprise TGI’s is going under when they can’t even cook frozen food.

Really disappointed with our meal here. Very expensive (£22) for a bog-standard chicken burger that was burnt and fries. Very let down with the poor quality won’t be returning

Excellent staff and food , little pricey but you know what you’re getting , tasty fast food that never disappoints.

charley our waiter was great, she was very kind and went extra lengths to ensure our meals was great, solved any issues we had and had a great chat at the end, couldn’t ask for better.

Absolutely lovely place food and waiters/waitresses however the night got ruined when it took 4 business days to bring out the food (sarcasm)

Appalling. Service was great and waitress was amazing. Food turned up cold and covered in salt. A replacement plate of chips was given free. And also cold. Waitress was understanding and helpful and saved the day, so kudos to her. Food simply abysmal for the cost. £20 for a cold burger and fries… you’d get better and cheaper at Wetherspoons or McDonalds. Won’t be back.

We walked in here….already a red flag when the other restaurants had queues! I ordered fajitas….the quantity & quality of the beef was poor….on the sizzling skillet…..onions, nothing else! Tiny portions of guacamole, sour cream, grated cheese, salsa & 4 teeny, weeny wraps….when we asked for more we were told there would be charges…..£26 for the beef fajitas!!!!! the extras never came…,as with another round of drinks ordered (which would have been added to the bill!!!!) WILL NOT BE RETURNING & WILL BE SUGGESTING NOT TO GO TO WHOEVER WILL BE LISTENING!!!

Food was once again brilliant other than the fact that they have removed the pot of Fridays Glaze from the smash burger. There was very little sauce on the burger too so I asked for a side pot which was quickly sorted. On a side note, the "2 for 1" cocktails are a rip off. £16 for 2 cocktails that are supposedly on offer is disgusting! Jade was brilliant and very attentive 😊

On arrival we were advised waiting time was approx 30 minutes which was fine and to wait at the bar. During this time there were 4 empty tables inside which no one was seated at. When our buzzer went off we were asked if we mind sitting outside to which I asked to sit inside as there are plenty if available tables to which I was told they are empty to give time to the kitchen to catch up. I personally do not think that is a good enough reason to ask people to sit outside as it makes no difference to the kitchen where I sit. However Once seated the waitress was friendly and efficient and brought drinks quickly. We had starters and mains and the whole meal took nearly 2 hours so food service was very slow but I guess thats die to being busy and staff not coping with demand. Disappointing visit

I don't think I have ever had such appalling service anywhere before. We were sat at a table that was filthy, ketchup smeared all over. We had to chase up the child's drink order three times before it was eventually brought over. Starter plates were not cleared when the mains were brought over. Speaking of the mains, apparently it's possible for a burger to be burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. Trying to get the attention of the waitress was like trying to hold water in your hands. We waited 40 minutes to pay our bill whilst being ignored throughout. Eventually caught the attention of someone who said they would be right over, took another 15 minutes. Will not be back!

Went in for lunch, table and seats were sticky, which is never a good sign and doesn’t speak well of hygiene standards. Should have left at that point, unfortunately we didn’t. Ordered drinks, only one arrived. Ordered smash burgers and wings, the wings were barely warm with no celery/dip as per the menu. The burgers were burnt, dry and tasteless. Terrible for the price they charge. Served on ridiculously small plates, hard to actually keep your food on the plate while eating. If you want a nice juicy burger, five guys is around the corner, much better. TGI has seriously gone down hill, will be the last time I visit. Very poor, have to say, other diners did not look too impressed with their food either, so not sure all these 5 star reviews are genuine.

Jade was fantastic, making sure everything was great and that our drink was always topped up and making sure our food was all good and the service was very quick.

Jade our server was so polite and friendly, gave us everything we needed and nearly convinced me to get a dessert😂😂 Was overall amazing!!

Extremely disappointed, went in this evening and was seated straight away which was good, only we were seated in the outside of the restaurant where there was only one other table. What I didn’t realise is we had been seated in an area where you are shunned from the rest of the restaurant and not served. Another couple soon arrived and there order was taken quite promptly where as my partner and myself had been sat there for at least 10 minutes without even having our drinks order taken, the restaurant wasn’t even that busy and i’m not surprised. another 10 minutes pass and i’m fed up as the other couples food who arrived after us had been brought out! hardly any staff coming to this particular area of the restaurant, i know it’s difficult working in hospitality as i have myself previously but this was disappointing!! we went to frankie’s and bennies where we had our order taken straight away! will not be returning to this restaurant again all the staff seem to be away with the fairies and not a care in the world! this is a shame as my partner and I do enjoy TGIs but this has put me off!

Very disappointing. Table and seats were sticky. Main courses took forever to arrive. When it did finally arrive, my burger was cold and had to be sent back. The replacement burger took another twenty minutes to arrive, by which time my party had finished eating! An apology was given but nothing else.

Server was perfect. Atmosphere was lovely. Food manly ok but quality does not reflect the price. Loaded fries came microwaved in a hot bowl but contents cold. Had sick burps all night. Won't be going to a TGI again.

Really poor customer service. Waiting time was so long when no one was at the bar with bar staff just sat around. No table service and staff didn’t speak to us when giving the bill. Won’t be returning. Very disappointed.

The girl in the minion crocs The one waitress with minion crocs was absolutely lovely as well as the swift and smooth experience we had. Really enjoyed the food as well cooked beautifully. The food was made better by the smiling face of the waitress serving us and the attentiveness she showed to us and our table! I recommend this to anyone who wants a lovely evening meal! As a side note the minion crocs put a smile on our sons face and showed a fun side to the workplace which was even more inviting!!

Me and my partner got verbally hate crimed by horrible customers. The staff handled this perfectly especially Chloe and Mel. All staff there deserve the best and they were so nice and apologetic even though it wasn’t their fault. The food was also great, just unfortunate that the other customers (one table) was vermin.

Cannot commend all the staff enough! My partner and I were hate crimed by some ignorant customers and all the staff were so supportive, namely Chloe and Mel who were the ones that had the main contact with our table, but all staff were so lovely! Food was amazing as well, and the atmosphere from all the staff and the rest of the customers was so loving towards us and non-judgemental. It’s just a shame there are some bigoted people in this world, but all the staff should be incredibly proud of themselves for making us two feel so supported and seen ❤️

The fact the restaurant was empty at peak time should have been a red flag. The advert on their tables encourages you to download the app to get deals and discounts, yet they do not load with their WiFi, so you can't use them. Then they offer a £25 off offer, which did not say on the advert about having to spend over a certain amount (I have evidence of this). Contacted them afterwards regarding this and sent to proof, only for them to send an updated version which details the 'over £100 spend'... Won't ever be going back here, plus the food was barely average.

Girl in the minion crocs Awfully rude verbally and so inconsiderate of me and my girlfriend sat waiting for food she couldn’t even ask us what drinks we wanted while sat for 25 min waiting after she said only be 15 min . I find this absolutely ridiculous and Inconsiderate . really bad staff and she presented her self like a joke with the crocs she was wearing while at work , I am aware it’s not a 5 star restaurant however she needs too look in the mirror or be told straight by her higher ups as she has no right to walk around in minion crocs which nearly made my poor girlfriends eyes bleed , not to start on how she is totally disgusting too look at how dare she be aloud to work around food with her extremely grufty hands and face. Also to add I got called a bellend by a member of staff who’s concerns should not have been with me but should have been elsewhere.

Took the grandchildren here after a busy day shopping. 3 adult meals and 2 meals for the kids. Adult meals were lovely but unfortunately the children’s food left a lot to be desired. Burnt burger and the bread for the hotdog was hard as rock. I have given the 5 stars for Mel a professional young woman who was the manager on the day who was both sympathetic and helpful. Both childrens meals were struck off the bill with no fuss and they were offered a free desert each. That’s how to deal with customers. Thank you Mel. We would return when we are in the area.

Been coming here for years and Unfortunately now it's really gone down hill, we'd pre booked online and still had to a join a queue with everyone else who hadn't pre booked as there was hardly any staff finding people tables so fast foward 10 mins after our original booking time we finally got to the front to be shown to a table. Once there ordered an oreo milkshake for £7.50, nothing oreo about it, a plain milkshake with vanilla ice cream on top, the only thing "oreo" about it was one tiny oreo biscuit sat on the top, normally you'd expect it to taste/include oreo in the actual milkshake itself. Partner had steak and it looked like it had been sat under a heater for an hour before bringing it out it was as dry as a bone. I had the smash burger which was a little better. Total bill for 2 meals and 2 milkshakes was £71!! Absolutely not worth the money. Only good things about it was waitress was lovely and service was fast - shame food quality or prices aren't as good

We recently visited with my wife on her birthday while out shopping. They messed up our order and when our food did arrive it was only just warm, I also ordered a Biscoff milkshake expecting something wonderful for the price of £7.50 ! But it was just vanilla ice-cream with squirty cream top with crumbled Biscoff sprinkles total let down . Very unhappy with our visit

Extremely disappointed, we were going to use the Thursday “burger and a bevvy” offer which stated on the app that we could get either a burger or a hotdog, hotdogs were not even on the menu so we asked our server (Jade) about this and she said we could get one they were just not on the menu and offered us the pulled pork hotdog, all 3 of us went with that option, it arrived in a tiny basket which is normally used for sides, we had about 10 fries each and the “hotdog” was simply 3 burned pigs in blankets shoved in a bun with pulled pork on top for £15, what a waste of money, we were not informed of this before we ordered and when we brought it up with our server she just said yea I don’t know why that is sorry about that and asked us to pay, no explanation or trying to do anything about it, nothing, she also had a terrible attitude towards us and seemed to be avoiding our table going to all others in her area being lovely towards them and it seemed she just wanted to get rid of us, can safely say this has put me off TGI Fridays which was once my favourite restaurant. Thank God It’s Fridays I think not, Thank God It’s closing down.

Food was delicious and our waitress was lovely - Kadie she really took her time and made us feel very welcomed. The music is loud inside - thankfully we were outside!… hence my 4* and not 5* on the atmosphere!

Really tasty food, only came in for pecan pie, I can't lie. It lived up to our incredibly high standards. Our server, Jade, was fantastic and made the experience a thousand times better.

Luke had sensational service today - after a few friends were unable to make it for my friend’s birthday, he made sure she was well looked after with free drinks! He was very attentive and the experience wouldn’t have been as fab without him.

Service was really good and quick which a busy bloke like me appreciates, food was top notch and jordan was great.

Used to be a regular customer at TGIs as it was reasonably priced. But nearly £21 for chicken strips!!! That’s so over priced. We will not return for that price.

First time at this restaurant, dirty seats, waited a long time for food, chips, chicken wings cold, only thing that was hot was the garlic bread. Plenty of drinks (refill cokes) Will not be returning anytime soon!

Booked for a birthday meal, but regret it and won't return. Really bad service... Possibly the worst we've experienced in a place like this. Struggled to get staff attention for anything because they were never in our area (seemed to be outside chatting). Table dirty and no knives put out. Not very kid friendly - no activities for children like other chains. Food not worth the money. Burger raw inside and burnt on the outside. So many other places you can go in meadowhall that offer better for less.

The young server was lovely however the food prices are ridiculous so we ordered from the kids menu, nicely presented but the food lacked flavour, wont be back again.

service was super slow, took ages for our order to be taken even longer for the drinks and the food menu is limited and a bit rubbish. Food is super expensive and not the best quality, wasn’t even that busy when we went in will not be returning :-( such a shame 😳

Went for a birthday celebration this evening but absolutely shocked at the price.yeah it's nice food but we left and went harvester and got twice as much for half the cost with a fantastic service. Sorry but you've lost our custom by being greedy.

I can not belive I have just paid £8 for 4 potato wedges, said to be potato skins! It’s absolutely outrageous that you are charging people extremely expensive prices for your food and services when the service is shocking and the food is just as good Quality as McDonald’s! For £8 I received not even half of a potato filled with cheese. Over the years I have been a very loyal customer to tgis but after this experience I will no longer be returning.

Off the bat we were shown promptly to a table for two and the lady was very friendly and asked us for allergy advice, We had been seen shortly after being seated by a lovely lad named Luke who had been very patient with us despite the time it took us to decide on what to order, they had asked us if we had wanted refills on our drinks as he checked in on us and even asked to see if our food was enjoyable ensuring there were no issues. Quality service overall. I look forward to my next visit :)

Coming back from a game of rugby today I thought I’d treat the kids so we stopped off and went to dine in at the TGI in Meadowhall and oh what a dump! The table we were sat at one of the bench seats was broken, the other side the divider between the two tables weren’t attached properly. If that wasn’t bad enough the table was sticky and the floor was dirty, what’s more disturbing is that every piece of cutlery was dirty. What a terrible place, we left before it got any worse.

Food and service was excellent 👍🏻 Classic ribs - must try. Anna served us, she was brilliant and good hospitality service 👏🏻

Very friendly and d professional staff, Anna Meadowhall) was very upbeat and friendly and made our visit a great one. Good as always was great.

Fix served me and my friend for bottomless brunch to celebrate my 19th birthday. She was so lovely and welcoming and we had a laugh with her too! 100% would come again thanks to Riz!!! She’s absolutely lovely!!

Visited yesterday with our 4 month old baby. The food was delicious and fast. The waitress (no name unfortunately) was extremely helpful. A good level of service. Really enjoyed our meal.

Not going to lie, the food has gone down hill. Starters of chicken strips and potato skins were lovely. Main meal of cajun pasta and fajitas....awful. The pasta had taste and probably half a chicken breast, for £20 do not waste your morning. Faitas again hardly any chicken and not much taste. Very disappointing.

Me and my parents called here on the way home and picked TGI's because I usually really like the food. We asked at the front about Gluten Free because my mum is. The lady told us to scan the QR code to look at the menu online. Which I thought was a bit rubbish why not just put what is GF in the Menu. We sat down and I scanned the QR code and filtered GF. There was hardly anything for my mum and to be fair the actual menu was pretty dire! I've just come back from Australia and the menu over there was massively different and they had a lot more choices. I ended up looking up Frankie and Benny's to see what they had and they had tons more options for my mum so we left. Nothing to do with the staff they where lovely and really apologetic.

Allow about 2 hours minimum, we all (4) ordered exactly the same burger, took well over 1 hour to arrive, simple drinks took about 30 minutes to arrive, they pretty much forgot them, was a quiet time in the week day also. Brought the bill very quick when asked though, funny that! Way too expensive also. Our first time eating here, never ever again, EVER.

Nice ish food for the discounted price we paid. Not sure I would be as pleased paying full price. An easy eat with children though

I went to TGIF with my grown up son when he came to visit me in Sheffield recently. I used to take him to TGIF when he was a child as a big treat so maybe that's why he chose it. That was in the late 90s. The menu that was on offer then had variety. The 2024 (much reduced) menu was the usual bland burger based type that is everywhere these days. And what I had wasn't even that good. The staff were helpful and enthusiastic for the most part, but even they couldn't lift the tired and outdated feel of the place. Having an American 'theme' anything no longer has the appeal that it once did - everything seems to have an American theme these days, so TGIF no longer has even that in its favour. It's not for me anymore.

Isla s on the bar was amazing and so friendly. She found out it was my birthday but I didn’t want any of the fuss but she still made sure I got some cake. Couldn’t leave her a tip as she didn’t have her card with her and we didn’t have cash on us so a five star rating from us instead.

Amazing food as always! My wife had the classic ribs and I had the wall of chicken which was awesome! Our server Iona looked after us brilliantly, proactively refilling our cokes. A great experience today.

Had an amazing time at TGI Friday’s Meadowhall. Lorna W was really welcoming, helpful and chatty but not overly! Riz, the manager, couldn’t do enough to help us and was lovely, explained the Stripes reward app and made a birthday celebration extra special. Thank you!!! We will defiantly return again soon.

We had recently come back from a trip and wanted a taste of familiarity. TGIs was our choice. We had Kaci as our waiter, absolutely phenomenal. She was friendly and gave us the extra time we needed to catch up. Once we had our drinks...

TGI’s in the food court of Meadowhall is amazing , where it’s placed , the services , it’s amazing. my waitress shelly was absolutely outstanding!
