My friends and I came for our graduation leaving meal and Gui was so lovely!! It was such a wonderful time and we were very appreciative of the service - thank you for making us laugh! x

Food was top notch. Had the brisket plate and a steel city pint, good value for what was included. Decent service too. No waiting to be seated. Would definitely return.

My first time at Smoke last night to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our server was Alex and he was superb! Nothing was too much trouble, we were a party of 10 with a young child and a teenager who were a little bit picky but Alex took it all in his stride. The food was marvellous!! Will definitely be coming again! Xxx

We went a few years ok ( before COVID ) and it was great, we went again as we were in Sheffield for a concert, this time was a real disappointment , waited quite a while for the food to arrive, the nicest thing was the chips , I had beef rib my partner rack of ribs , both were dried out and tough

Not explained Botomless lunch isnt botomless food before we ordered and even after they explained that, the drinks are capped at 3 drinks for £35. Unfortunate because the food is great, but expensive.

BRILLIANT! When I come to Sheffield with work I always make sure I come to Smoke BBQ! I had the pulled pork this time and it was stunning, melted in my mouth and very generous portion sizes. Great value for money and always a good vibe and ambiance in the restaurant. See you next time

Our experience was unfortunately quite underwhelming. The Amaretto Sour was easily the worst I’ve ever had—shockingly sour and completely unbalanced, to the point of being undrinkable. We ordered two pitchers of tropical punch, which bizarrely came out in completely different colours, highlighting a clear lack of consistency behind the bar. It’s obvious the venue is staffed by disinterested students, and it shows in the execution. We also ordered three bottles of wine, yet were given no wine glasses. If you’re charging £30 a bottle, the very least you could do is provide appropriate glassware. As for the food: The brisket was extremely dry, with burnt ends so parched they were drowning in BBQ sauce to hide it. The pork belly was mostly an unrendered thick fat cap, with dry, unseasoned meat underneath. The steak, requested medium rare, came out completely blue, and a good 30% was pure gristle and inedible. It honestly felt like dining on a Monday was an inconvenience for the kitchen, and we were being served leftovers from the weekend. Even the small things—like a waiter asking us to stack trays into his arms—contributed to the sense of sloppiness. With a final bill of nearly £400, we expected significantly more. Regrettably, we won’t be returning, nor would we recommend it to others.

I have visited Smoke on 2 occasions over the last few months with my family. On both occasions we were very well looked after by our waitresses Sophie and Jasmine who couldn't do enough for us. They were very attentive to our needs and prompt with the orders. The food was outstanding and very well prepared. The atmosphere is great. An all round brilliant restaurant with amazing staff.

great food, had mac and cheese and loaded fries and wings. came out piping hot and really quick. good service, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting sheffield!

So here’s the thing. The food is good, like really good. Maybe that’s all you need to know. But if you need more, here it is: We had the On the Bones platter. Super tender, flavour on point. And listen, they’ll let you upgrade to premium sides for £1. The poppers, the mac and cheese, that’s where it’s at. But wait, there’s more. THE SERVICE! Ask for Casey. She’s the difference. Seriously. That’s it. That’s the post.

We had Jess as our server. She was absolutely exceptional. I’ve recently been diagnosed with Coeliacs and this was my first time dining out since the diagnosis. Jess was super attentive and made sure I knew which options on the menu were safe for me to eat. She made recommendations and she was spot on! The food was delicious. Exceptional meat, full of flavour and the burnt ends just fell apart. Teeth optional! The atmosphere was fantastic and it felt like we had plenty of privacy. Jess was attentive but not in your face. The perfect evening and I can’t wait to come back!

Grilled meat in various variations! Cool American style atmosphere. Decent portions good price/performance ratio. Service friendly and accommodating.

Visité el viernes pasado con mi pareja mientras estaba en Sheffield para ver The Nationals (torneo universitario de hockey sobre hielo). Excelente comida, servicio y ambiente - nada decepciona! Porciones enormes - izquierda con una "bolsa de perro" masiva. Bien precio, delicioso! Y Casey era una superestrella sobresaliente, también - siempre tan amable y servicial. ¡Volveremos el año que viene! Gracias!

Casey was lovely as our waitress. The food was delicious but for the chicken that was very dry. Everything else was beautiful though and Caseys smile make up for the minor food issue.

The food is always delicious and you never have to wait too long. Such lovely staff, was served by Marshall today and was attentive and kind! An absolute credit to his team! Also huge shout out to the kitchen crew! Always amazing!

First time visiting for my daughter's 14th birthday. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and huge portions; we couldn't eat it all! Friendly staff, quick service and a nice atmosphere. I would have given it 5 stars, but the decor was a little shabby and probably in need of a refresher soon.

First of all, although this is a 3 star review I can't fault the service. Our waitress was very accommodating and helpful. I had the spare ribs which were reasonably tasty but chewier than I would have liked. The fries were spot on but the mac and cheese was a bit claggy and not cheesy enough. Overall the food was average, maybe the burgers are better.

Been wanting to visit for a long time now, the smoky smell from the restaurant is amazing. The restaurant definitely gives a great first impression. The service was very good, the atmosphere was nice and the prices weren’t too bad. The fries and Jalapeño poppers were perfect, and the sauces are great. But I found the pork and the patties to be a bit dry, they were still tasty but not as good as I was anticipating. Overall, still a good experience.

Really excited about the food but when you order brisket you don't expect it to be dry, never mind that bloody dry. Severely lacking in seasoning as well. A BBQ by the name of 'Smoke' pumping out terrible brisket is something to be ashamed of, especially at the premium price point. The pork belly ends were good and the fries, jalapeño bites were average at best. Service was excellent though and accommodating. Shame about the obvious lack of passion from the BoH.

Well where do I start, the chicken wings I ordered was the best part of the meal, and that's because they used a Frank's hot sauce 100% out of the bottle, the brisket we both had was so dry I only managed to eat 1 bit of it, and the "onion strings" were horrible a bit like a onion bhaji if a bhaji was a greasy mess and put in a little silver tub, the mac and cheese was so bland one taste was enough, all in all it was a waste of £71 the best bit was the 2 drinks we had, when the plates was taken nothing was said even though most of the "food" was left. Won't be going again

Disappointing. We ordered the brisket and the baby back ribs, both were very dry especially the brisket. We felt like we were being rushed out being told they needed our table for other guests after only being in there for an hour. Definitely wouldn't return.

Possibly one of the worst experiences at Smoke, been several times and this one was by far the worst. Ordered baby back ribs and these were inedible and v dry, the 2 meat plate (sausage and short rib) the sausage was fine but the short rib again dry and unnecessarily spicy. No water for the table, no offer of more drinks, no check back. My partner left all her plate and no ask as to why. Needs some serious improvement and attention

We didn’t have a huge amount of time as we had to get to the theatre, but Emily was great and made sure our food was pacey but equally that we didn’t feel that we were being rushed through. Food was nice but huge portions for adults. Kids portions were good and we had a nice time.

Superb barbecue restaurant venue. I had Ribs ( again!) and they were as brilliant as last time. Highly recommended, but not for those who like smaller meal portions.

We made a pilgrimage here for the 2nd time from Derry (90mins away)! The food is 10/10. We always go for the one of the boards because they’re brilliant value. The staff are great and the hostess remembered us from our last trip. Really friendly welcome and fantastic BBQ meats. The Mac and cheese is probably the best I’ve ever tasted in NI!

We visited here for a family member’s Birthday. We ordered 5 meals which were all really tasty and very reasonably priced! The portion sizes were extremely generous and the staff were super friendly and helpful! We also sat at one of the barrel tables which was absolutely fine, however I would avoid sitting here if you or any of your party have issues with mobility as the stools are fairly high up.

Absolutely terrible food chicken full of fat and bland . Had beef it was full of fat Tacos were lovely staff need a personality transplant very miserable will not be returning.

Muy lejos de las jugosas carnes húmedas que se caen del hueso que encontrarías en un verdadero ahumadero.

Chicken very dry, ribs even dryer. Burnt end not burnt but slathered in bbq. I feel this is a gimick bbq restaurant that doesn’t really know how to do bbq. Service good though.

We ordered on deliveroo for a takeaway. The food was inedible and went in the bin. What a waste of £56. The brisket was so dry, i could hardly chew it, the burnt ends were that dry and overdone, i couldn't even cut it. My partner had the chilli hotdog said it was disgusting and was nothing like a hotdog.

Was looking forward to this with what I've read but very disappointed, asked for a pint of neck oil to be told they dont have any, it's some other version, they brought me a fun size can of whatever it was, i swapped it for a coke, wife asked for a wine glass with her wine to be told all wine glasses are out and she could have a flute or a mug, a mug of wine isn't very classy. Ordered the beef ribs that came and was OK but very greasy, onion strings started ok then turned to a bowl of grease with onion strings mashed in there, chips were nice, then the dreaded hair, eating a price of beef then pulled it out, not good, then a waiter rocked up with 3 espresso cocktails, told them it was the wrong table and asked for the bill, had to get them back to adjust the bill as they had charged me for the espresso cocktails we never ordered. We wanted to like this place but I'm afraid it was a bad experience so won't be back im afraid. On a plus note the atmosphere was very relaxing and rustic.

The service was friendly, but otherwise very average. The barbecue sounded good, but was also average. The ham hock was dry and salty with lots of gristle. I had the spicy double burger, which was like two very thin, dry burgers stuck together with cheese. It was awful and tasted like cheap frozen burgers. I was assured that the burgers are made fresh, but hmmm… bad recipe? If you take a moment to look at the reviews, there is a recurring complaint about the meat being dry, which is never a good sign in respect of the food preparation - especially meat! The whole experience was that of a modern American-style restaurant with a focus on the vibe, but very little passion for the food. Adding insult to injury, they automatically add a 15% discretionary service charge to your bill.

The food is good but if you prefer less greasy and more healthy options then may be you should choose a different place. Staff were friendly and accommodating our guest special dietary needs.

Chilly hot dog and loaded chilly fries was excellent. Highly recommend. Huge portions, good atmosphere.

We have been plenty of times to Smoke and I'd have always have rated it as 4/5 but were left a bit underwhelmed by today's visit. The service was quite slow - it took 15 minutes until our order was taken. The staff were a little inattentive at times - heads down and not really noticing when you needed something. When our food arrived, several items were cold. The ribs were so spicy they gave me hiccups to the extent I felt they needed a warning on them. I NEVER complain in restaurants but did on this occasion - I only complained about the temperature of the food as I felt I must have made a poor menu choice. The staff were good about this (but it took a bit of time to get their attention and noone had come round to ask how our food was). They gave me a fresh plate of food within five minutes that was steaming hot - and these ribs were not at all spicy so I was left wondering if I had been served the wrong item the first time. When we ordered, no burgers were being served which threw us a little bit as we had our three year old with us and that had been the most suitable item on the kids menu for her. However, they were good at accommodating my request to give her a hot dog instead when only sausage was on the kids menu so I appreciated this. On another note, the disabled loo is starting to look in need of some maintenance (though this isn't unusual in lots of places we go). We had a nice visit overall - but just felt things could have been a little better.

I pre-booked for a works christmas party meal, we had pre-booked months in advanced for 39 people. We arrived on time to tables not available, we had pre-ordered our food and ended up waiting 1hr 20mins before the food was served. My party was very unhappy with this late service as we spent nearly £900 . We will think twice if we are going to visit as a large group I don't think they can handle a large booking.

The decor and the place are 5 star but some basic things really let it down. Staff don’t bring salt pepper or sauces until after food No second drinks offered and wait time for drinks is crazy. It wasn’t busy yet I ate half my food whilst 3 trays of drinks sat waiting on the bar. Bit sad really as I thought I’d be in love with the place from the outside and heading to my table but it simply failed to do anything but disappoint. Food was ok service poor

The industrial chic atmosphere and cheerful staff are a good start but my brisket was dry and had little flavour. It is hard to recommend a barbecue restaurant which has mediocre meat.

Amazing place that serves up some delicious BBQ. Easily the best restaurant at millennium square. Also love the portions here - if the owner is reading please never change this!! The sharing platter is amazing for two people

Some of the best American BBQ I have had the chance to eat. Got the pit plate consisting of the pulled pork and brisket plate alongside the pork belly ends. The pork belly ends and brisket were genuinely amazing with a rich complexity of flavour and the glaze was top quality. It was sweet and savoury pairing excellently with the crispy skin on fries.

Food was very nice, my wife is a vegetarian and her dietary choices were more than adequate. Atmosphere was just a little too loud for my liking but food and staff were amazing.

Absolutely shocking. Booked for a bottomless brunch in October turn up to be told it’s not on. Won’t honour it. Terrible service no manager on site. Absolutely disgusting.

My first time here with friends who are regulars. Service was very good, quick efficient and friendly. The food was spot on. I had the brisket which just fell apart. Others had the belly pork and burger. All the food was a hit and the portions huge. Washed down with a few decent pints made for a decent experience.

Great place to eat me and my gf enjoyed it really decent portions aswell I couldn't finish mine was really nice though.

Me and my brother tried the delivery option last week, and I have say, the service was excellent, ordered online on the Monday and the food arrived Wednesday, we went for Pulled Pork, Baby Back Ribs and the Pit fired Chicken. All just as good as the restaurant version. Our favourite as we both agreed were the ribs, juicy, succulent and full of flavour, the pulled pork was very good too, and we enjoyed the chicken, there was even enough left of the pork and chicken that I made sandwich’s for the next 2 days! I haven’t been down to the Restaurant for a few years, but I will be heading down there in the New Yeat. Richard

Great selection of meat! If your into meat then this is the place to go. My only complaint is that the sharer we were told serves 2-3 people, we ordered this plus a main, and it was huge! We couldn't finish it. I'd say served more like 4 people with normal portion size. Felt a bit uncomfortable that evening! Great staff though, clean and rest rooms were well kept.

Taste wise it was ok, but the beef rib meat was dry like it was old and a bit tough. Staff were great but needs a better chef my companions seemed happier with their meals so maybe it was that one dish can't say for sure not going to actively return but wouldn't rule it off.

Food definitely not freshly cooked to order. Very quickly served 11 meals in 10 mins or less. Food cold, one meal was uncooked..(pink chicken). Overall felt very rushed. Service was ok. Tentative waiting staff but still felt this was a forced customer service and not staff genuinely wanting to make the experience an enjoyable one. They did remove the meal from the bill that had the raw chicken however. Will not be returning or would recommend.

Visited on our anniversary for a meal. Food was ok but not amazing. Service was friendly but sluggish at time. The place has a few wonky chairs, so me (and people on other tables) were needed to swap around.

Came here last Wednesday. Great food and atmosphere, our waitress ( I think she was called Jess) was great and attentive. Will definitely come here again!

Visited on the 27th October ordered food came chips were creasy onion bits were creasy had to send steak back as asked for well done still bloody inside the not even finished food started taking plates away when I not finished even took the mayonnaise away so didn't finish my food then gets bill not even finished our drinks so will not be going again as we felt rushed into finishing

We have been before the food was good. We where raving about it to our daughter-in-law. When we went on Saturday it came to the table rather too quick, indicating it had been stood too long. The food was dry and wasn't very hot. We mentioned it to they staff he said he was sorry we hadn't enjoy it. The bill came well over £100. I don't think we will be going again. Not even a mention of a reduction in you bill.

My very first visit to smoke BBQ,we had preorder our meals.the service was quick and polite the staff made sure we were all looked after.i thought my burger was reasonable priced and I will return to smoke BBQ in the future

Dine Sheffield started today and I’d been wanting to revisit Smoke. I couldn’t order the Meat platters as they were meant for 2 diners. I was happy to try the Bacon Mac N Cheese Burger with a pint of Smoke lager. A very tasty meal with friendly service. I’d like to drop in again to try the platters.

Good atmosphere and staff were lovely. Food was ok but nothing too special. The pulled pork was good as were the chips but the ribs, burnt ends and chicken we had lacked the depth of flavour I would have expected from having cooked for so long. Not a big fan of their BBQ sauce either - for me I found it a little vinegary.

Casey’s service was fantastic, felt really welcome here and ordered the pulled pork. She was so lovely and made the whole experience that much better. Will definitely be back

Birthday meal out. Great atmosphere. Staff attentive and food was good. Chicken was a little dry but overall the food was really tasty and plentiful! Nice touch by the staff to offer the birthday diner a complimentary birthday cocktail too! Recommend the ribs and pulled pork! Share platters good value too.

If you like prepacked, reheated, dry, grey meat covered in sweet sauce, this place is for you! Brisket and burnt ends were inedible. £21 for that privelage. Smoked sausage possibly the foulest thing ever pulled from a vacuum pack. As others have said, waitress didn't even ask how the meal was, just cleared the plates. Obviously they get told not to ask cause of what would come their way. 'barbecue love' is the tagline apparently. Lol.

Sent the steak back as not cooked enough, didn't eat it in the end as wasn't cooked to my liking, other 3 people with me liked their food, wont be visiting again

Maybe was because i was one of first customers on a Monday but was very disappointed, any way u shouldn't be serving 18h smoked brisket from day before, someone people know what is a fresh cook brisket, anyway the ribs was not alot meat ,the mac and cheese not much flavour, chips where good...

Went for a birthday celebration, the food was very good, really tasty! The decor was great and all the little touches with the tin plates etc, were in keeping with the theme, the drinks were good and the price point also good. The staff were attentive and friendly. The facilities were clean and quirky (taps) What I will say, is they don’t scrimp in portions and if I went again I would choose a smaller dish. I have the build your own, I chose pulled pork and the sausage and couldn’t finish! We shared the Texan toast (insanely good) All in all a great experience, but advise you not to wear your favourite clothes as the gorgeous smoky smell does linger! 😂

Friends and I went for a meal on Saturday evening and 2 out of 3 people from our party (who both ate pork) came down with crippling food poisoning instantly after the meal. Waitress brought an array of random items to the table which weren't ordered and was rude to us when informed of the error. The waitress reread our meals upon ordering so not too sure how my friends meal was completely wrong and random items added to our bill. Had to ask for the bill three times before walking over to the bar. At this point we were all very nauseous from the food poisoning and needed to leave.
