We've just been to Wild Card for a family meal to celebrate my daughters birthday. 3 of us wanted to order the Memphis BBQ plate only to be told it wasn't available. Not a great start to the evening. I ordered the Buffalo prawn skewer. £19.50 for 7 prawns (that tasted of nothing) a handful of salad and a dish of the saltiest fries i have ever eaten! The rest of us ordered an American double cheese burger (which wasn't eaten because the patty was burnt and he cheese sauce was lumpy and greasy). Touchdown Cajun chicken tacos (which was average). Boneless basket loaded fries (with chewy chicken). BBQ pulled pork stone baked pizza and Chick N Kiev loaded fries, which were both thoroughly enjoyed. Please be aware this is a sports bar, and it is very, very loud. Also, a 10% service charge is automatically added to your bill, which is one thing that i do not agree with. IF I want to leave a tip, I would like to decide how much that will be. Overall, I didn't enjoy anything about the Wildcard Bar and Grill, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The food was good as was the service. It is getting expensive, but show me somewhere that isn't. Music might have been a bit loud today! Overall worthwhile.

This is a good place for pub food and watching major sports events. We didn't want to watch the football on TV when we visited this time so we were seated on the verandah which was ok but found the traffic noise a bit much and the wind blew one of our drinks over! My nachos, although very nice, weren't the home baked variety I was hoping for. One of our party ordered a caesar salad but was presented with a cheesy garlic bread! A member of staff started clearing plates whilst one of our party was still eating.....sorry, but totally unacceptable. All in all, not a terrible experience but some areas of service left a little to be desired .

All in all it's a decent sports bar, but not somewhere I'd pick for a sit down meal. Food is expensive and bog standard, if a little poncy, and for the price I'd expect something a little more unique. Service isn't great, staff are generally quite stand offish (it wasn't particularly busy when I visited, which would make it more understandable). Toilets are clean but had no soap when I visited. Seating arrangement is quite crowded and I'd worry about accessibility for wheelchair users.

This review is for the food only. Went here with family and freinds would'nt have been my choice as the selection in minimul. The food is absolutley awful and so overpriced for the quality, £16.50 for loaded fries which were basically cheap fries with slop on top, they garnish nearly everything with spring onion and chillis, does'nt hide whats underneath. We also had the Buffalo chicken wings £10 for ten and very small again these were awful and like something you would get at a cheap takeaway, the sauce was like vinegar! I had the BBQ plate £22 i asked if it was big was told yes, it wasn't; again was served with the cheap chicken wings but these were deep fried and worse than the Buffalo ones, mac&cheese with pulled pork (or lack of it) and 2 scraggy pices of sweetcorn which were inedible, the half rack ribs were ok but lacked sauce, all the food from all our party was not eaten its just poor pre frozen pre packed garbage. Pints of beer were £6.50 and for a bar thats not even in central Sheffield is silly prices. The bar itself is nice and modern and has a good atmosphere and is great for sports events but think thats where it ends it needs either to stop selling food or reduce it by at least 50% as you would get better quality and Wetherspoons! If this type of food is your go to stick to either TGI Fridays or Five guys or even your local takeaway as they blind this places food. I can't understand why this place has decent reviews for food (if there real) its overpriced Iceland food and not even in a decent location. You could eat and drink in central Venice, Rome, Barcelona even New York cheaper than this place and they add on a service charge of 10% for the privelidge which is not an option? Look at the prices and options on the menu before you go or book then look at the other place you were thinking of and book that! We went for the euros final , despite the disappointing result. We had a lovely time at this venue. The staff were so hard working and did an amazing job.

Great place to go with friends or family to watch football & have food & drinks, the food is great quality & always is consistent every time I go & they have a good choice of drinks also. I definitely would recommend coming here!!

food was nice but service wasn’t the best, second time i’ve come and had to ask to get a waiter for food and drinks. drinks took ages to make along with them coming to us asking for check back. food was lovely however

Food was okay although the prices are a bit high for what it is. Service was pretty decent too. We went during the off season for sports so hard to judge the atmosphere hence the average star-age

I went here to see the FA Cup final. It was a decent atmosphere. I had a pizza. The pizza was good. I would never come here for a drink, a family night or a date, but for footy, it was fine. Not cheap.

Here for fundraiser. Had lovely food. Only dropped a bit as I like spicier. Otherwise wonderful time had here

Really disappointed with the visit, supposed to be a sports bar but F1 took priority over the championship playoff final, no commentary on speakers until and hour had passed on the game, won't be back, if Id have know this was going to be the case I'd have gone somewhere else,

Booked months in advance ready for the boxing, only to be emailed a few weeks the event to be told they're not showing it. Poor decision making, its suppose to be a sports bar, wasting people's time and ruining plans. Sort it out.

Shame… my first ever bad review. Usually good here but went for my 7 year olds birthday as a treat.. paid to shuffle board. Timer was started when our starters were delivered. Ate and then played two slides each way before the mains were delivered 6 minutes later. Ate mains… and the board had been tidied. A total of 8 minutes play….

Typical sports bar. Staff were friendly and the Guinness was good. Too many screens for me though. They did have a Guinness head printer which is a great addition.

I know it was Mothers Day, but a 2 hour wait for your main is pushing it. They clearly needed more staff, with that or they judt took 2 many bookings, you could see families complaining about the wait.

Slightly disappointed today, serviced was slow orders missed and food average. Not what it used to be or was designed to be.

Fantastic gem of a sports bar. One of the best I've been to in the UK. We travelled from Doncaster to watch the Superbowl there and weren't disappointed. Food was fantastic (the wings were particularly excellent!) and the beer variety was stellar. Fantastic atmosphere, love the decor. Will definitely be visiting again next time we find ourselves in Sheffield! Thanks!

Very busy popular sports bar based in a former casino on the Eccleshall Road. The restaurant has a lot of sports memorabilia and several giant screen TVs showing a variety of sports. The menu is basically burgers plus but the burgers are very good. The prices are reasonable. The popularity of the place does mean that service can be slow but the staff are very friendly. There's no parking attached to the venue. There's paid parking on the road or in nearby car parks.

Wasn’t expecting anything special food wise in a Sports bar on a Monday night. So was very surprised by the quality of food. Great ingredients well cooked. We could have been in a decent restaurant by the standard of the cooking. Well done chef.

Amazing experience at the wildcard! The atmosphere here is great, the food is delicious (the portion sizes are very generous) and the drinks selection is brilliant. Great venue 👌🏻 and walking distance from my home in Millhouses so spot on.

This is the second year running that we’ve chosen this venue for our family New Year’s Eve celebration. We came at lunchtime straight from the pantomime and were a party of 25 adults and children. We were seated on one long table upstairs. The staff were fabulous. They were friendly, and attentive and the service went smoothly in spite of the place being very busy. All of our food came out hot and all our meals served together. It is very good value, especially the children’s meals which are plentiful and tasty. Personally it isn’t my favourite choice of food but having said that I ordered the chicken skewers with flatbreads, salad and chips and it was delicious. I would not hesitate to return again to the venue especially for a family event. There is something for everyone with the big screens featuring spirts, the pool table and shuttle board to amuse the kids. Also the cocktails are brilliant. Thank you all.

We went at 6.45pm on 31st December with our 5 year old. We were shown to our table but then nobody came to take a drinks order until I went to find someone after 20 mins. The waitress apologised that we had been forgotten about. Part of the drinks order was incorrect when brought to us. The food was OK but the menu is quite limited unless you are totally into an American Diner flavour. Very limited wine list and options for vegetarians. We were quickly reminded when our time slot was nearly over. I wish they had been as on the ball when we arrived! Overall we were a bit disappointed with our experience.

We were all really disappointed that the food was below normal standard. They were also out of burgers which is normally a go to for our family. This made our options limited as some of us also don’t like pizza. We had a mixture of items off the menu and were all disappointed as a whole. It’s put us off heading back any time soon.

Visited March 23 for a family birthday & it was fantastic. Great atmosphere & we loved it. So different today. No atmosphere unfortunately and staff seemed so miserable compared to last time. I booked the table in July for upstairs to make sure we could play pool and shuffleboard like last time but unfortunately they weren’t available unless we paid £5 per 30 mins. I wish I had known about the cost before I booked. Fortunately the food was ok so not all bad. Disappointed to say we will not be returning.

We were a group of x23 friends who went to Wildcard for a Christmas celebration. The booking process for pre ordering food was really simple and seamless, everyone ordered their own dishes and paid on the night (a £5.00pp deposit was required and deducted from the final bill). Thanks to Ellie for your help in the run up to the event. We were sat upstairs, it was great for our party, we had a wonderful time, the staff were lovely, all very helpful and kept checking on us. We chose to order our own drinks from the bar, but the staff did offer to take drinks orders for us and add it to the final bill. The food was decent, pretty much what we expected and priced correctly. I'd recommend Wildcard to anyone looking for a social event for a group, the atmosphere was fab and it all went really well, huge thanks to all the staff who helped us out and made us feel welcome.

Great American style bar. Good service. However the chilli beef tacos wasnt good. It was watery, tastless and the consistency was poor. A chef would not have allowed this to be served. They must have employed a cook at short notice. Due to the expense you would have thought the small cup of sour cream and advacordo was part of the tacos deal instead they charge £1.25 for each.

Not your average sports bar. The food is banging and service is top notch!

Great staff, lovely food. We joiined them for our works Christmas party. There are a couple of good games tables too.....pool and Shuffle board I think it's called.

We Celebrated my daughter in laws 30th last night, food was outstanding and our waitress really went above and beyond to accommodate our needs so Thank you . We would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again

Celebrated my daughters 18th with a big family meal off 22 people, We all had a great time the service we had was excellent they couldn’t do enough for us

Great atmosphere and excellent food.

On arrival there was a large group of people smoking, swearing & blocking the entrance. Bouncer on the door seemed oblivious to it all. Had to almost push our way through to get inside. (This was at 7pm on a Saturday evening.) Once inside, staff were helpful and the food was great. Just spoilt by poor first impression.

Eaten here many time as a family and with friends. The menu has been changed which is fine but the veggie starters are very limited, either garlic bread or mushrooms. The best veggie dish bang bang cauliflower is no longer on there. The meals that the family had were really tasty but not be rushing back due to poor choice of veggie starters.

We went here for our anniversary :) had a lovely meal food was delicious and cocktails were fab. Watched some football and played some pool good experience all around 😊

We like it here - ok, the meat eaters like it more than the veggies, as there aren't a lot of veggie options. But for a family meal out, it works well.

Food average, It reckons it's a luxury sports bar, It's just like any other sports bar as far as I can see, I wouldn't recommend this place for kids as there was a lot of swearing from other punters where we were sat, Food was ok, nowt special, won't be rushing back. Have to say that the Staff were great, very helpful.

Sadly we were not impressed. Good venue but service was slow, food was dreadful (unless you like deep fried over cooked food) and massively over priced for quality and quantity. The coffee was ok though and might go back with the children as plenty of space, seemed child friendly. I try to support local businesses but this was disappointing.

Third time we have been here for food. Can't fault the service or the quality of the food. Would recommend a visit. Try the habanero hot wings 🔥

Great sports bar. You can watch any sport even in your own booth with your own tv. Food was great and good size portions. Good selection of beers and cocktails. Staff were helpful and with a smile. Loads of sporting memorabilia on the walls including my team Sheffield Steelers. Only down side no parking on site but weekend road parking and a Co-op opposite, but if your on the pitchers of beer you shouldn't be driving.

Unfortunately this place has gone down hill on food and service . As a regular customer I have visited more than 10 times and each time things seem to be getting a little worse . The quality of food has drastically reduced but the prices have increased (I understand food costs increasing and don’t mind paying it if quality remains the same) Customer service has also gone down hill with servers now totally disinterested with serving you , no check backs , personal service , conversation and never a smile but more than happy to keep pushing you to buy second drinks and more bothered about chatting to each other. You have a great building , concept which should be great American food with great drinks and service with sports being shown but your food and service is letting you down !

Was looking forward to eating here as had read good reviews, unfortunately that was not the case for us. Ordered loaded fries which was literally all cheese and 5 small pieces of garlic covered chicken. The two who had this both left 2/3 as the cheese was overwhelming. The waitress unfortunately didn’t want to ask us if we enjoyed our meal as clearly we hadn’t. The other person in our party had a meal with flatbread which was cold and hard. It wasn’t a great experience for food and hate service charges being added when we had left the majority of food. Lesson learned not to return!

The veggie breakfast and tater tots were incredible, really really great food and great service from Lucy who looked after us the entire time. Would 100% recommend coming here for their new breakfast menu. Lots and lots of options to choose from for all, staff are accommodating to needs.

Lovely place, good environment, pleasant staff

Really enjoyed the food here. I visited with 3 friends & we had prebooked and got sat in a booth with its own TV. We could request what channel we wanted on (my friend wanted to watch a Leeds match). The only thing that lets it down slightly is lack of parking, although that's an issue for a lot of places in that area. I parked on a street nearby but a good 5/10 minute walk away. Would like to visit again in the future 😊

Great place nice food selection.

Impressive sports themed bar and restaurant. Called in on a quiet Saturday lunchtime when there was only a handful of people in. Had to wait to be shown to our seats (can't we just have a pint at the bar or overlooking Ecclesall Road?). Food looked good but we didn't eat. Could be THE place to watch The Ashes.

New and clean with lots of space. Definitely more of a restaurant vibe than a sports bar. Sadly didn’t enjoy my visit as we sat upstairs and the railing blocked the view of the big screen. High-top tables would have been better for the upstairs tables that rely on the screens above the bar. Service was also a little slow with drinks and our orders being forgotten. Would have preferred a bar upstairs that we could use rather than table service.

Don't spend money on a drink before you check out smoking rules. Nice outdoor terrace at the front but you can't have a smoke with your drink on it. No prominent sinage which I hate. You can smoke at the side of the building but can't take your drink with you so bit like smoking by the bicycle sheds. Don't mind segregation buy it's not illegal and the people don't go there to drink fresh juice and work out on treadmills. Appart from that tasty food and pleasant staff . Just think a business taking monney for alcoholshould make these restrictions clear before you spend .

The food was amazing just the service let it down. We booked and they asked us to make sure we arrived at 6 for our table and wasn't ready when we got there so had a drink in the bar which took forever. The staff were focusing on table orders and ignoring people wanting service and then finally got served. Then the waitress just was very tentative and we waited ages for drinks etc and we could see drinks on the end of the bar for time. Not sure I would visit ahain

Cracking sports bar, soooooo many tvs to choose from. Food is decent and staff friendly.

If you like sports bars you will enjoy this place. Plenty of TV screens good selection on the menu. Only disappointment for me was no real ale.

Me and my family (four kids) are big American food fans. Specifically, wings, and having tried various restaurants up and down the country, it's honestly impossible to find good wings. Impossible! The wild card is an exception. The wings are perfect. The chips are salted in seasoned salt. Honestly, even thinking about it makes me want to book again. We visited with our four kids on a Saturday afternoon . The staff were lovely, good humor, and attentive. You don't have to sit around looking to find staff members to place orders or get a top up, and if you're a sports fan, they have it covered. It's an killer place, and I will definitely be visiting again soon. Good job, guys.

T'was a few nights before Christmas and all through the bar, not a wine glass was empty, nor a waitress too far. The music was joyous, the food a delight, the customers buzzing with no sign of a fight. We had starters, then mains, plenty of beer - then left with smiles knowing the festivities were right HERE! Thanks to all the hard working staff as always, you made our night xx

Tonight’s experience at the Wildcard was a shambles. On previous visits it has been fantastic, but sadly not tonight. There was just not enough staff. What can I say, missing appetisers that had to be reminded about. No plates for appetisers. No extra cutlery and napkins were brought to the table for the main course. The first drinks took at least 20 minutes from being seated. Main arrived but one had to be sent back as was cold. Although staff offered for it to be re done all the other guests had almost finished before it arrived. Two subsequent drinks that were ordered were wrong. I heard another couple ask to be re seated as people at the bar were coughing on their food. This was ignored by staff. Another party of 5 adults were seated on a four person table. Oh and the portions of food are much smaller than three weeks ago when I came with a party of 11 adults. I will not be returning.
