TGI Fridays in Southampton

I had a fantastic experience at TGI Fridays in Southampton! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. The food was delicious—especially the fully loaded mix grill. Our server was attentive and friendly, providing excellent service throughout our visit. Overall, a wonderful dining experience! Highly recommend!

Cold food, cold restaurant and pretty rubbish attention to customers needs. All at an extremely over priced cost !!! Food microwaved (£20 for microwaved pasta?!). Not surprised they’re going into administration. Also starters and main delivered at once ?! A new experience for me.

One of my favourite TGIs lovely staff and great service!

Not one to normally leave reviews but can fully understand why TGIs are closing branches. Food was very poor. All 3 meals we had the side salad looked like it has been sat out for over a week dry and cracked looking. My son’s chips were very overly salted and the pudding was badly microwaved!

Any place that has Animal from The Muppets behind a drum kit on display gets my vote!!!. Service was polite, fast and welcoming. A little sad that you have to pay to park outside the establishment - but worth the munchies and atmosphere.

Just had what they call a full rack of ribs well what they actually gave me and my friend was a rack of ribs each that only had 11 ribs when a pig actually has 16 , when I asked to speak to the manager he said the rack was by weight . The menu states a full rack nothing says anything about weight so I questioned it and he resided to ask us to leave, I think trading standards will love this when I contact them .

Very underwhelming food . Plenty of it but double the price I would've liked to pay. Portions were twice the size one needed but I guess that's how they get the money in the till . Will be another 30 years before I go back .

We stopped for lunch. A salad , a starter and a 2 for 1 drink. Meal was tasty but high prices.

Food quality very poor, unfortunately matching the service standards. We sat at the table without cutlery once food arrived still not given. It's definitely not worth the money

Came here for a quick lunch stop before the cinema, noticed advertising outside the restaurant showcasing amazing deal bundles throughout weekdays! Safe to say money well spent for a lovely lunch - will be returning! :)

TGIs if you ordered it from temu. Went here for dinner the night before our cruise. If you’re thinking of doing the same. I would go to mcds. You’ll get a much better meal.

Our server ZOE was lovely, extremely polite and made sure everything was ok with our meal all the time :) food was delicious Amazing service 10 out of 10 :)

Wonderful place to eat. All of the meals in our group were delicious, and the staff was very attentive to our needs, especially its allergies. The place felt like a typical TGI and met expectations there. Only issue was the rather high prices (just below 20 quid) that felt a bit high for the adequate but not gargantuan portion sizes. Still would happily return.

Excellent service. My waitress was Mel, who was friendly and polite. food came out super quick, which was good, as it hadn’t been stuck under the lights drying out.

Friendly staff but service a bit slow.

When I wrote last review we didn't have our meal which is normally but some of order was wrong and had to go back the burgers had to go back as were all pink inside my grandsons meal has to go back as they put cheese on his meal my son got his without one of his burgers so had to be taken away when he got it his and mine were pink inside so had to go back w didn't bother taking anything else or staying for pudding. Service was shocking

Stay away you will get food poisoning

Took my girl friend this afternoon noon , she has eaten nothing all day and now she is being sick at 22.45 with what it think is food poisoning from the cold slaw, as that was I only thing I never ate and I'm fine , thanks TGi !!!!

Was a very hot restaurant, sticky menus , 2 for 1 cocktails served in whiskey glasses and for £16 did not get out money's worth it was just one big cocktail in 2 small glasses , not what a Pina colada should be served in the went all over the table , Mac and cheese has no cheese in it at all just pasta and white sauce , I had more cheese on my garlic bread 😞 I did complain but they just wanted to make me another but it would have been the same and even though I didn't eat it they left it on the bill when we finally got the bill that is . Our server bought it over and said this is not your bill but it's £1 cheaper then your one but I wasn't paying someone else's bill so waited for our one , what a joke

when we asked about spoons and forks to eat, she ignored us and left us sitting there waiting and we had to go get them ourselves. When she brought out the food and put it on the table it made a noise. when we asked for the bill to pay, she threw the bill on the table and without saying thank you she left. She never opened her mouth to speak like a mute person. The service attitude I found the first time was very poor and incapable of understanding. We have eaten here many times and the previous times were very good but this time it was really bad and we felt angry while eating. I hope the manager here needs to change this employee's service attitude and show respect for customers.

My waiter Jacob was incredible he was fast kind and polite overall had a great time

I used to love TGI, after tonight I wouldn’t ever go back. Bland food, time for food was ages, kids sat waiting, £4.30 for a can of Dr Pepper!! Absolute joke!

Jen has an absolutely disgusting attitude. As a customer being spoken to the way she has spoken to me I am absolutely appalled. She is childish and needs firing. Didn’t even give me a chance to speak and is really patronising and belittling. I’m absolutely disgusted that they would hire someone with such a lack of people skills. I will be speaking to a higher up about this.

Service was very slow , don't go for the all you can eat chicken wings you won't get all you can eat , they give you 90 minutes but majority of that is waiting to get your food , and saying sorry we don't have the staff isn't good enough, can honestly say I won't be returning.

We dined here for a late lunch and we left very happy and impressed. The service we received from our waiter was great - he came across very friendly and welcoming. All of the food we had was very tasty including the mozzarella dippers with marinara sauce which had a good string to them and tasted great, the chilli and garlic prawns which were a good size and delicious, the cheese & maple bacon fries which was a good sized portion and also tasted great and even the regular fries which were perfectly seasoned! Without having to ask, I kept receiving my free refills which came with the price of one lemonade which showed some great attentiveness. We also ordered the raspberry ripple cocktail which 2 for £16 is a good deal and tasted fantastic! We did originally order the birthday cake sundae however, our waiter did kindly tell us that after almost making it, he had only been told that there was no birthday cake left to put in it so kindly provided alternative choices and allowed me to order a different dessert with out any trouble. As a result, I had the Salted Caramel & Chocolate Brownie Sundae which I would definitely recommend: there were plenty of brownie pieces which were all fudgy and had a chocolatey frosting on top. It was very big and did not lack toppings or ice cream and it even came out with a sparkler making it a really nice treat and a great way to end a good meal. I was also able to take advantage of the UNiDAYS 20% off food discount which also wasn’t a problem and was instantly reduced without any hesitation by our waiter! All in all a very good tasty meal with good service. I would definitely return again in the future and would recommend!

My husband and I had a rare night off without our children and wanted to treat ourselves to a meal out and your restaurants are always are 'go to' even with our large family as we have 5 children we make sure on any family special occasion TGI's is our chice of restaurant! Sadly, our visit yesterday has left us walking away most dissatisfied not only with our food/drinks but the poor service from not only the member of staff serving us but surprisingly the manager. We order our usual which is the JD chicken and added extra for our cheesy bacon fries. Our meals were served and immediately we looked at our chips and could see what appears the dish had been sat on the side for some time our chips were lute warm and stuck together as the cheese had hardened around the chips with extra dry spring onion and bacon. As a result of these being left on the side prior to our mains being ready the taste was most un enjoyable as a result of this. Our salad garnish if you can call it that was pointless being on our plates as it looked out of place for the minimal we received and again was dry as if it had been on the side for some time. All of this being said we ate the majority of our food as we didn't want to grumble and more importantly neither of us wanted to waste our money or create an issue in store and have to wait for fresh chips whilst our chicken goes cold. I must say also we order a water and coke and my husbands coke tasted flat. No member of staff approached us and asked if our meals were okay or we may have mentioned the situation during the meal. In fact no member of staff asked throughout our whole visit if we were okay and everything was okay with our meals. We had to mention this ourselves at the end. When a man came and collected our finished plates we said we wanted to feedback our experience. This male member of staff then proceeded to say as an explanation the chips cant have been sat there as they are cooked and brought straight out so in other words our statement has to be wrong and our tastebuds and our eyes as we know how your freshly cooked and brought out hips look and taste. His facial expressions were far from professional along with his most insincere minimal words which followed after his defensive statement 'My apologies!' He then left the table and didn't speak another word! He didn't t make us feel valued and certainly made us feel like our feedback was unjustified and unnecessary. My husband actually said to me that I've fed back to a table collector and not a waitress/waiter and should have not told him our issues and raise with our waitress when she makes an appearance. As she brushed d past our table during our meal briefly and said can i get you anything but was walking past and didn't even stop directly at our table for us to engage in any form of conversation or response. Our final attempt to give genuine feedback to have at least a proper response and acknowledgment for our experience was to let our waitress know as my husband and I seriously thought he must be a table collector and nothing of authority to handle our complaint. Our waitress came to our table and we asked if we want a pudding and we said no thank you and I asked for another water. She took just my glass but left my husbands which i thought was odd and returned with lute warm water in my existing glass and my same all most melted ice cubes and soggy straw. I looked at it and tasted it and thought 'wow' this is shocking service! I then said to the waitress we have to give feedback and explain we often visit and this is our first time we are left this shocked with the food and member of staffs service. She asked who we was talking about and we were even more shocked to learn he was in fact a restaurant manager! How can you as a business have someone on their shop floor that has 0 ability to treat their customers as valued customers and genuinely only care that they have the right and best experience when they chose to come and eat at TGI's. Our last poor experience was when the waitress asked if we wanted our change? Honestly, what a rude statement to ask if we want our change! Yes please we would like our £4.05 change we would normally leave a tip if satisfied with our meal and service as you pay for the whole experience. But to outright ask if we want our change is rude. Needless to say we walked out most disappointed by the whole meal and service which has left us no option to escalate this complaint to the powers above. The managers name apparently is Alex and the waitress's name is Erica. As we left the manager gave us eye contact did not engage with us and say thank you for your visit and add a sorry or anything of some sort he genuinely showed an attitude and lack of care for his paying loyal customers. TGI's sadly will no longer be our go to restaurant for birthdays, special occasions and mum and dad treats as the service alone spoilt this experience. We didn't complain to staff for any for of reimbursement just feedback but instead we were made to feel like we were not genuine and certainly were not valued although if we were the type of people to make a point and scene at a restaurant we were well within our rights to grumble about paying for our meals and drink as it certainly was not as it should have been!

Fajitas were kind of bland, tortillas tasteless, overall not a good value for the money. Service very slow.

Our server, Dylan, was very helpful and knowledgeable. Best sweet potato fries I have had in a long, long time. Complimented the lovely ribs and slaw. Great lunch time atmosphere!

Bottomless brunch was fun! They’re strict about the 2 hour time limit and you can only have one drink at a time and can only have the next when you finish your current. It is helpful that the servers put a drinks order through as you’re drinking so they can come swiftly. Food was good and tasty and you’ll come back

Came here for a family meal (14 of us) quick service and lovely environment! Lucy was our server and she went above and beyond, very friendly and made sure we had a good meal. Thank you!

Food - Overpriced food that will make you sick Service - The servers were quick and seemed nice, and the food came out quicker than advised. Atmosphere - Music was too loud, people were shouting over the table to talk to one another.

As authentic American as it can get here on the other side of the pond. From food through to drinks and serving sizes. Great choice of cocktails including 2 for 1 offers. Free flow soda also available. Brioche bun was a little tough but the Friday's glaze was rather unique. Bacon was juicy and succulent. The loaded fries were nicely topped off with cheese and bacon bits.

David was amazing. Give the man a raise. Food was great. Drinks were amazing. Service was the best. Prices were reasonable.

Food tasted great but after just a few hours both me and my boy's was ill after eating here. And the staff was abit tarty not really a place I'll be going to again especially after the prices u pay u would expect alot better staff performance.

Alex was an amazing server who was kind, considerate and really friendly and helpful with it. The food was gorgeous and the venue absolutely lovely. The app is also extremely easy to use

Never been to a TGI Fridays before and it was surprisingly acceptable - the staff were helpful and friendly and the food quite tasty I think it borders on a fast food establishment but an up market one compared with its competitors. It's not a standard choice of restaurant but would recommend TGI Fridays for this style of eating. I would like to thank both Lydia and Nick for their menu help, general help and their service..

I went to TGIs in Harbour Parade, Southampton with family and friends. We were served by a gentleman called Nick who was exceptionally helpful. My son has a very serious egg allergy and he explained everything so that my son was in no risk. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

the staff in tgi's were brilliant today, especially Grant. They were friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and there was a lot of it

Went for a birthday meal. Despite the place being empty and we had reserved our table.we were left standing for 10mins at the door while staff walked past us. Then we asked to move to a bigger table and the manager said ' just use the table we sat you on and then we over heard a staff say ' these type of people always fuss! ' staff kept standing by the table and made comments like ' what do they want now?' The service was slow and food was dry and then they charged us double for things on the receipt, where we kindly tipped staff without realising what they had done !!!! Never go back.very rude staff and un - welcoming.

Absolutely appalling! our server Lucy was incredible, so patient, attentive and helpful! HOWEVER, there was an incredibly rude waitress called erika, she refused me service alongside very rude looks. I felt the negative energy as she pondered about the restaurant.

I came here for the burger and it was amazing. The fries were good too. Service was also nice and quick. Ample parking on the premises. Right now offers are going on for cocktails.

Very good service, served quickly and drinks arrived quickly, so did the meals. Enjoyed by all of us. My son had a very bad experience at the Bournemouth Branch the other week. One in Southampton was great experience by me.

Because we love the choice that suits us all and always made to feel special. We use this place as easy to park and use it as our family treat out. Served by Grant, who was fabulous, friendly but not in your face

The food and service were very good. However, TGI is now charging premium prices for standard restaurant fare. Our bill today came to £160.00, including service, for three people. The restaurant was almost empty which is very unusual for a school holiday Saturday. There is no doubt that the new, significantly, higher price menu is adversely affecting footfall.

We came away feeling quite disappointed after a lunch meal at TGIs. Food portion was abysmal, my toddler had a better portion size than myself and husband did. Both went for the sticky chicken, mine wasn’t coated, had about a half portion size of chips, sad looking salad. Astounded that a starter is £10, quality of food does not match the price. Can’t say we will be coming back

I loved it, great food but. Didn’t have time to take any photos 😂 had allready eaten it . I especially recommend the hot wings… well unless your vegaterian then you have suffer and watch your friend demolish there bloody , juicy and suculant burgers 😂 any way 👍🏻

We went at lunchtime on Friday and our server grant, looked after our every need, facilitated and catered for the extra needs we wanted but by no means just expected. Thank you grant.

Standard chain restaurant, some not so interested receptionists but once seated service was good, attentive and polite. Food was good, not amazing but perfectly edible and couldn't complain about anything. Service was quick, food was hot, just felt slightly mass produced.

It's a little hit and miss. We go for Birthdays, St Valentines Day ect sometimes the food is great and others not so good. It is the same when getting it delivered as the portion sizes seem to change quite often.

We had a sharer, never known a sharer where you need to cut a chicken wing in half because they you only get 3 and they are cold...we refused to pay and they gladly accepted because they obviously get loads of complaints! Disgusting smelly ladies toilets...We will NEVER visit the place again!

Cost £39 for sesame chicken strips, boneless wings in red hot sauce and 2 for 1 mocktails ( strawberry fields) on the expensive side for the amount of food available. The wings had too much sauce and very salt. The sesame chicken strips were nice but very expensive. The cocktails were nice but too much ice. I would only go again if the prices were restructured.

Slightly disappointed with the visit, TGI was always known for a good steak, but when our food came out looking dry and didn't taste fresh. Also found decor dated and dirty cutlery on the table. Service was a bit slow, considering we came in on a Monday lunchtime and the place wasn't busy at all.

I am not happy because of how they advertise all the offers but in the end they let you pay more on their offers. Children are not eating for free! Be aware! We have 2 chilren and still we had to pay for them (9 months old) despite of downloading their app and everything. I am not recommending this restaurant. Very overpriced for what they offer. Avoid. And it's freezing cold there

Food was ok not the best in my opinion service was good

I was very attracted to the young lady at the bar serving drinks. I found out she used to be a young man, I think this makes me a gay, well at least by proxy. Food sucks, over priced cr4p and it makes you gay.

Only popped in for a cocktail whilst waiting on a ferry, but it was fabulous

We have been here twice now for different occasions. Our main problem was how filthy the toilets were both times! The female toilets were disgusting, sorry to be so detailed but the toilets had either blood, urine or what looked like faeces on the seats. There was toilet paper all over the floor. Service was friendly but we waited quite a while for our food to be served. Both times the staff tried to seat 6 of us at a small bench table... more suited to 4 people One of the times we had 2 young children and even then it was a squeeze but we had no option as at first we were seated at a table with a low flickering dodgy light which wasn't suitabledue to an epiltetic and someone with sensory issues. The next time it was 6 adults and we requested to be moved annoyingly we were moved by a large traffic light (displayed on the wall) that I was directly facing the green light was bright and irritated me.

Came out for a meal on Sunday evening with my partner, had not been to TGIs in a long time so wanted to try it again. Fair to say if was absolutely in awe at the amazing hospitality shown by the manager Nick and our waiter Dylan. They were attentive to what we needed and always had a smile. We ordered the starters and mains to come out at the same time and they were more than happy to accommodate that. We ordered Mac and Cheese, Calimari, franks chicken burger and sesame chicken strips! All of the food was delicious and portion sizes were perfect. Safe to say it was a very enjoyable experience and we will be coming again!

I simply don’t recommend it at all. One of the very terrible places. They are consistent at being consistent with the poor food quality always served not as expected. Either not fresh or not hot. And the kids menu came like burnt 3 chicken strips and loads of sweet potatoes. Everytime we visit we decide we are not coming again. And definitely this is the last time

Visited here on a Saturday night last minute managed to get a table. Our server was really nice. The only problem was they ran out of a couple of ingredients to make most of the cocktails on the menu. No problem really to us as we opted for Long Island ice tea which was 2 for 1, and you get a big glass and had decent amount of alcohol in 😋 . We ordered the wall to wall chicken sharer , chicken was really yummy and shared fries which were tasty! (I noticed on the menu burgers seemed very expensive near on £20) I will have to try one day to see if they are worth it! 😊 Decent meal out , place is quite noisy but not overbearing, would return.

Dry food. Missing food. Rude uptight staff. Wouldnt release my click and collect with out a code which I didn't have and explained why and got told no code no food I was the only order there and could of been found with my name and order details. Wouldn't order from there again.

Way way way over priced! These are £19.60 each! The chicken was burnt and the pasta was dry asf…. Also the cocktails barely have any alcohol in them…. Complained for the food which didn’t eat, as it was terrible and they offered a 20% discount!!! Which we said no! And then we went to two tills to pay and they said we had to wait for the waiter so then waited another 20 mins to pay!!! Worst place ever! Way over priced and the worst quality food if ever been served ever!

Thank you Charlotte! On a busy Valentine’s evening, Charlotte really did TGIs proud, she had mentioned at the end whilst paying the bill that she hadn’t worked in 2 weeks but she didn’t miss a beat! Very attentive, very well spoken and really knowledgeable considering the Menu had just changed also! Deserves big credit, really made mine and my partners night to be looked after on our evening! The food was delicious also! Although unfortunately for my girlfriend the vegetarian options were limited due to a stock issue :( looking forward to our next visit!

Been here many times. Best TGI's I've been to. Fairly expensive but the food never dissapoints. Today our refillable coke was forgotten but hay mistakes happen from time to time. Didn't spoil out time. We had a lovely day out followed by a lovely meal.

We went to TGIs, Southampton Retail Park, for mine and our Son’s birthday. We were served by Erica, who was brilliant and made our visit even more special. The food was great as usual, so thanks to TGIs and Erica for another great evening.

It was our first time here a couple of weeks ago and they helped us of what to get and with the drinks the recommendation of the non alcoholic cocktails definitely go there again

Arrived at 1pm and were seated promptly. Very few customers in the restaurant. We waited. And waited. No members of staff visible. Nobody came to take a drinks order. We waited for 15 minutes, without seeing any staff, so we left. We were a party of 10. One member of our party went to the bar to complain, but was told that he 'was just the barman'. Very disappointing.

They use to be good value- not anymore way too expensive!!!!

Hadn't been to TGI for ages and was really looking forward to it.....what a disappointment. Paid £23 for a burger which was dry and tasted like cardboard and the place was really cold. The only saving grace was the fries. 8hrs later and it's still repeating on me. ☹️

Arrived at Tgi with plenty of time to eat before our show. The food took quite a while to get to us and when it did it was warm like it had be left on the counter for a while before reaching us. Due to the time frame we was on and the time it took for us to get the food we had no time for it be sent back

Worst food ever. The corndog that I ordered was absolutely uncooked from inside.

We visited on a week day afternoon, we ate a burger and hotdog. The food was well cooked and tasted fine. David our waiter looked after us well. Thanks for a nice meal.
