Omg!! I've lived in the UK for 33 years, and have searched high and low for true Smoked, authentic, BBQ food. I finally found it whilst at the Maid of Stone festival in Maidstone, Kent. I had the Brisket stack Burger and dirty fries. AMAZING!!. They even had their smoker oven attached to their food stall, the smell was driving me crazy.....in a good way. Texas Smokers.....truly the best Smoked food in the UK. Well done guys/gals

Well. Poor. Very poor indeed. Texas smoker sits in the top corner of the trail blazing and incredibly popular ‘stack complex’ in the centre of Newcastle. The menu yarns on about how long the cook brisket for and various other banterous food descriptions. I order the ‘cowboy nachos’ at coooool £8. After a ten minute wait (not clear why) the buzzer goes off and i return to find my tiny tray of nachos that look on the face of it intsagrammable but i was to be in for a bad surprise. I get back to my table and its nachos covered in warm baked beans (quite literally Heinz baked beans) which are warm. The type of warm that is on the toast that your kids leave after din dins. Awfs. The nachos are thusly soggy. Don’t worry though, theyve drizzled sour cream on top and sliced a Jalepenio. Absolutely dreadful. The problem is though, its in The Stack so they’re guaranteed footfall so they hardly need to produce good quality. Will not be returning. Baked beans on crisps. No thanks.

Ordered “loaded” fries but there wasn’t anything loaded about them. Just some fries in a box with beef brisket in a stale brioche bun. That’s it. And for £9 a complete rip off. Friend ordered loaded fries from the Greek place and got what I expected, big plate of fries covered in sauce/chicken. Never going back.

We were looking around Stack today and the delicious bbq smell drew me straight in! The food was made freshly for me and tastedj ust as good as it smelled! The portions were quite good as were the flavours. Staff were really friendly too!

Whilst visiting the stack on Saturday we were seated just opposite the Texas Smoker & after a few drinks we felt the need for food, there wasn’t a massive choice but enough, we ordered the bbq fries & onion rings which arrived red hot & were really lovely, a very pleasant choice

We ordered this as a takeaway but were sadly very disappointed. The portions are generous but that’s the only good thing I can say. All of the meat was incredibly dry and chewy including the ribs and it was all coated in the exact same sauce which was way too vinegary for any of our tastes. The fries were fine but the mac and cheese tasted like that watery pasta you used to get in school - don’t think it had seen any cheese to be honest! Really wish I could get a refund because it was so bad we had to go out to the shops and make a whole new meal for ourselves afterwards.

We often visit the Stack and the food and service here is great. You’re always greeted with a smile It’s hot, fresh and good value

Great place in Stack. The nachos were delicious and the staff were friendly. Not too expensive either.

First class food very friendly staff and great music when i visited there was a open mic night very entertaining

Hubby loved this place. He ate an amazing beef brisket sandwich which was full of beef, had great texture on a lovely bun. Friendly staff, great service and well worth a visit.

The Stack is a great place to visit, located at the bottom of Northumberland Street it features various local businesses, bars, restaurants and live music. We hadn't tried Texas Smokehouse before but were not disappointed. We went for the Pit Plate to share for £15. The portions were generous and included pulled pork, beef brisket, bbq wings, slaw, onion rings and spicy fries. You are also allowed to buy drinks from other Stack locations and have them with your food.

Had a fabulous Pulled Pork Roll at Stormin the Castle Mag Rally, so full of everything could hardly finish them, will certainly be visiting this Restaurant ASAP

WE discovered The Stack in the afternoon, just looking for a cold drink on a red hot day, but returned in the evening with our family for drinks and food. The food from the Texas Smoker was amazing and the portions very generous. It was hard to choose what to eat as everthing on the menu looked great. 3 of our party had different meals and we were all very pleased with our selections, the food was delivered to our outside table piping hot and left us wishing we were staying in Newcastle for more than 1 night. Highly recommended and freshly cooked proper Texas fare.

Called here for tea, ordered a burger with pulled pork and fries and a foot long chille dog with spicy fries - we chose to eat outside and the place was buzzing. When the food arrived it was hot and really tasty. The staff were also very nice and helpful.

I love the concept of the Stack. Then to find this culinary gem tucked away was awesome. A great atmosphere of a Texan bbq shack, great staff and a reasonably priced menu. I had the Dirty Dog. A foot long sausage loaded with pulled pork and bbq sauce with a mac and cheese side. This was easily as good as bbq I have had in Alabama. Well worth a repeat visit next time I’m in Newcastle

Dog friendly!! Big tick in the box for us. We got topped nachos And Tipped fries Great food whilst out for a few drinks. Really tasty food, big portions, staff were polite and inviting. Defo a recommendation!

Used a Groupon voucher for four. Went with my wife and daughters. Absolutely lovely. Brisket sandwich, sloppy Joes, chilli dogs. Fries and onion rings. Reasonable prices, lovely staff, will definitely be returning. Worth a try if your in Newcastle town centre and fancy something a little different
