Burger Drop in Newcastle upon Tyne

Used to enjoy food from here but it has went right downhill since the opening of its Heaton branch expanding way quicker than it is able to cope with. Myself and family/friends will likely pick an alternative place to eat now. I have had more bad experiences than good experiences since the opening of the new branch. The mouthwatering burger plastered across social media etc is rarely what you get these days. The restaurant is also shockingly ran by management, they take zero accountability and nothing is ever their fault and always the customer fault. For example, I have in the past been called a liar about an order. They have a crazy policy - which blew me away and I even had to ask for the manager to confirm whereby, as long as what the kitchen produces matches what was put through the till then your order is correct and you must’ve ordered wrong.. when asked about what happens if they accidentally put it through wrong at the till, well apparently they don’t (wow, impressive). On this occasion the manager also confirmed to me that he spoke to the staff member that took my order and they definitely took my order correct and that his staff are not liars so he is siding with them. Wow, either am I! Funnily enough I managed to produce evidence (dashcam footage) of me placing my order to prove they DID take it down wrong.. but who would typically be able to prove that? EMBARRASSING. For my latest visit I had an awful burger (and I didn’t even complain!). I simply posted on one of their latest triple/quad burger posts saying you’d need it to get your moneys worth these days to which they asked me for a picture. I mean it did look like a 2 year olds first go at a ‘craft’ burger. They’ve since ignored it despite prompts so I’m guessing they’re either happy with that or maybe it’s my fault again!

5 stars is not enough for burger drop. All the burgers are tasty and fresh, highly recommend hope they stay in this level.

If you were lucky enough to goto this establishment in the first 3 years of it opening, then you will understand how crazy good this place USED to be. The perfect Burger and meal every single time without fail. I hadn’t been for a while as it’s about 15 miles away from home, I went last night and was so appalled and disgusted at the changes and new found greed at Burger Drop. Burger Drop made its name and reputation around succulent, juicy smash Pattie burgers with a small extra payment to make it a meal with chips and a drink. Now meals are no longer available? If you want your typical Burger, Chips and can of pop, you will have to buy individually, which will cost £20, £7.50 more than it used to cost. There’s a huge amount of middle ground between cost of living and greed, and unfortunately Burger Drop has went full greed. What was once the perfect burger experience every single time, is now overpriced grey burgers, with no option of a meal and served on a proper plate now to charge the customer even more. Quality + Quantity in February 2023 and prior = 5*. Quality + Quantity in 2024 = 0*. So disappointed I will not be going back. I don’t want to ruin the memory of what was once the perfect Burger.

I’ve waited until I tried a few times before writing this review in the hope to get a more well rounded view of the food. Firstly the burgers (went for the fire beef smash burger), the patties are bland and tasteless, the only thing you can taste is the sauce, which doesn’t taste very nice. Have also tried the European chicken burger, which was better but the chicken was dry! All that being said, the burgers are still the best thing on the menu because the sides are just plain terrible! The chips are over salted, tastes like they’ve been dipped in the Dead Sea! The loaded chips are a waste, we got the salt and pepper loaded chips, which was basically handful of chips with some waited onions and bell peppers (think they misunderstood the concept of salt & pepper). The wings are tiny, overtired, dry and tasteless! Avoid - you’re better off with frozen burger patties at home.

Ordered plain chicken, just chicken and the bun for the wife, nothing else. A1167. Mine was a burger, no pickle or cheese. When I got home, the chicken was overcooked, just about burnt, but also had cheese on it. Burger not too bad. Fries OK. Disappointed.

Absolutely disgusting. My boyfriend and myself got a bacon burger and some chilli loaded fries. Starting with the burger I opened the box went to pick it up and I can only describe it as a soggy mess. The base of the bun was dripping and stodgy with grease to the point where I felt like all I was eating was grease. Closed the box and left the burger. Gave the loaded fries a chance- and they were the consistency of baby food again dripping in grease. No flavour to any of the food due to the grease and far too overpriced for how bad the food was

I ordered a burger mango milkshake and bottle of water that came to 15 pounds. I was served very quickly. However the burger was disappointing. There were 2 thin grey coloured meat patties inside a soft bun and soggy pickles and lettuce and sauce. It came with spicy chips that were small and dry and over cooked. The mango milkshake was so thick I struggled to suck it through the paper straw although it was delicious. The girls serving did well. My expectations let me down

Came here for the first time and never again, food was mediocre but that wasnt the issue, plenty of rats running around the back kitchen area/alleyway and the door was left open! Avoid at all costs.

Never will order again Ordered for delivery driver went to totally wrong area to deliver didn't understand me on the phone made about 3 phonecards to me and then gave mobile to member of public Uber eats no help no contact so rang the shop they said I would need to re order so I did and this time did priority order as it was getting late so paid twice for same order and bit more for delivery to come sooner and then contacted uber eats through the help option no response contacted via email they just send automated response now been told over 48 hours so won't get a refund for an order that I didn't even receive absolute nightmare and stress charge exterminate price for delivery and then don't deliver and now won't give my money back for food I paid for and di not receive absolutely ridiculous Uber eats are just a joke even the staff don't know how to get intouch with the company they delivering for pure joke

Burger, minus pickle, tasted absolutely lovely. June really enjoyed her chicken, chicken only - no additions. Only downside to the Heaton take away is that there are no milkshakes!

‘May The Fourth Be With You’ Star Wars day, I’ve dropped my dear old mother off at the Newcastle Westgate Cataract Centre to get her dodgy eye sorted out and got plenty of time in hand, therefore a spot of lunch is on my agenda. It’s time to pop to Burger Drop on Westgate Road, now I’ve had burgers delivered from here before and they’ve always been excellent but I’ve never actually eaten on the premises. Great guys staffing here delivering a very friendly, welcoming and helpful service, their burger cafe/bar is very clean and tidy and you can see how they’ve earned their ‘5’ rating for cleanliness, the place is absolutely spotless. I upgrade my two beef brisket burgers to having four patties on each one, and opt for meal deals with chips and Dr Pepper, food comes in good time and the burgers and portions are massive, the buns are of good quality that stay together rather than fall to bits the minute you take a bite. Seriously great burgers, pure gobgasms, definitely a contender for one of the best burgers in the Toon right up there with Meat:Stack and Fat Hippo, the brisket was unreal and I definitely recommend visiting their Burger Drop cafe/bar to get your burger straight off the grill, so-to-speak. Great effort guys at Burger Drop, full marks!

Amazing! Best burger I’ve had. So juicy and the onions were cooked perfectly. And the chips were seasoned perfectly. Not often you find a place that has good burger and chips, it’s normally one or the other. So so nice. Would definitely recommend

Sadly moved out the delivery post code but Iv had a couple take aways and was amazing probs the best take away burger Iv ever had. Genuinely great customer service and chat back on the socials.

Ordered online , delivered by very friendly driver, food was piping hot & probably the best burgers/ chicken we have had ! Fries, Brownies whole order was delicious. Will definitely be using regularly from now on. Great prices too.

I ordered online only to realise once I received my order it was wrong. BD corrected the order and sent over the correct order along with free brownies. Although they made an error they corrected it in the right manner. Super impressed

Ordered via deliveroo 3x bacon drops & seasoned fries. Turned up within good time and packaged well (cardboard not plastic). Really enjoyed the burgers, not greasy at all and the turkey bacon worked well (was a bit dubious beforehand). Plenty of chips per portion too....
