Texas Joe's Slow Smoked Meats in Southwark

Visité con un amigo para probar los sabores de la barbacoa americana. No decepcionó. Probamos las alitas de pollo, pechuga de ternera, costillas de cerdo y ensalada de papa. Todo estaba bastante sabroso. Lo recomendaría a cualquiera que quiera probar un poco de Texas en Londres. El lugar está ocupado, así que asegúrese de reservar con antelación o ser un temprano.

Gran restaurante. Generalmente tendrías que reservar aquí ya que es muy pequeño. Lo encontré en Google cuando buscaba una comida después de una actividad en Londres con Friends. Nuestra mesa no estaba lista y llegamos 5 minutos antes, así que nos pidieron que fuéramos al bar de al lado y pronto vinieron y nos atraparon. Probablemente la mejor carne barbacoa que he probado en cualquier parte del mundo. Mi amigo tejano me trajo aquí a cenar. Vaya, qué puedo decir. Ahora sé por qué los tejanos se jactan de barbacoa. Este lugar es divertido, relajado, enérgico y la carne es absolutamente increíble (al igual que los lados). Incluso tuve el placer de conocer al propio Joe. Un tipo fantástico. Vaya lugar. Definitivamente regresaré.

Mi hijo encontró Texas Joes en línea cuando buscaba un lugar para comer y lo reservó. Me alegro de que lo hiciera ya que el restaurante pronto se llenó y me hubiera decepcionado si no entramos. El personal era muy amable y servicial. Recibimos nuestra comida muy rápido y fue increíble. Sin duda volvería la próxima vez que estemos en Londres.

Texas Joe’s BBQ Smokehouse delivers on authentic, hearty BBQ experience that’ll satisfy any meat lover’s cravings. This spot should be on your radar. It’s a little taste of Texas in the city. The staff are very warm and welcoming just as the food is. No one wanted to move from this place even after they had finished their meal. I can’t wait to come back to this place.

Wow! First time being here and I can honestly say this place is 10/10. The food is insanely good, it’s juicy and flavoursome and such good value for money. We did a platter of meats, with beans, chilli mac & chips - everything was cooked to perfection. My only regret is that I’m only here for a trip and not able to visit here more often! Another great meal with friends - definitely recommend ordering everything and sharing it all. This visit the pork shoulder was the star of the show (first time trying this) but the brisket was still way up there! Already looking forward to visiting again!

Can’t believe I forgot to write a review. Was looking for ribs while in Southwark. Did a google search and decided on Texas Joe’s. I was not disappointed. The pork ribs were meaty and seasoned to perfection. I talked about those ribs for a week when I got back to Georgia. Texas Joe’s was definitely one of my highlight meals in London. Can’t wait to go back.

Having been to franklins and some top smokehouses in Texas / USA my expectations were high! For London, this is pretty good - authentic menu items and the meat was surprisingly good (had brisket and a beef rib). Decor is just like you’d find in Texas too. Would return.

They have a good specials board which i recommend trying, it tastes far better than the regular menu. We felt incredibly rushed by the staff, even though they'd not long opened for the evening and the resteraunt was mostly empty. I went to the toilet and when i came back they had taken my meal away. They also have a beetle problem. I noticed a couple of beetles crawling by my table and my partner even had to kill one. We notified a waiter who didnt even bother responding when he listened to us. They served us a bottle of water that had dirt in it, i get the feeling they dont look at what they're serving you. Honestly this place used to be the one but its long fell off, theres better elsewhere.

I cannot recommend this little gem highly enough. It is a brilliant place to visit for superb slow cooked meat, the beauty is in the simplicity and the flavour and texture is awesome. The most amazing dish is the pulled pork wrapped chilli's wrapped in bacon omg they are to die for. The welcome is always fabulous and the relaxed atmosphere is great. You have to visit!!!!

I cannot praise this restaurant enough. The food was sublime. The service impeccable. The ribs, the short rib and the tri tip steak were just perfect. Will be back again and again

Our son for his 12th birthday wanted to go to a proper smoke house. We definitely picked the right one. 5 star service 5 star food. It was really nice as my son spoke to the chef who was smoking the meats and he took time to talk to him and give advice on smoking meats. We would definitely recommend and go back. Wow! This is the home of real BBQ, forget your big chains like BigEasy etc. these guys are the real BBQ kings here, meat is juicy, smoked flavour to the bone, nice portions and the price is fair and no way a rip off. Service with a smile and attentive also. This is going to be a regular spot now for me. Can’t wait for round two!

As a texas native my sons girlfriend was quite excited when we stumbled across this place you could smell it 5 minutes before we got there the inside has got a sort of lived in look which I love the staff were great and the food oh the food amazing we had brisket 20 quid for 4 slices now I know the price of decent beef has doubled in recent times so I thought that was reasonable absolutely stunning nice bark decent smoke ring as it should be wouldn't be surprised if its the best in London pork ribs 16 quid 2 big ribs nicely done but maybe a bit under still wolfed em down lush chicken tacos soft ones they was alright 12 quid I think we had two of them and chicken wings 10 quid for 5 now they were lush but you really should tip em and nick the joint so they pull apart easily little things couple of cokes 92 quid we were in there 40 minutes and also they add 12.5 service charge which I don't mind paying but it should be optional all in all really good give it a go

My brother was Visiting me down in London so we decided to try the local BBQ restaurant and what an experience! The food was truly incredible, and the staff where so friendly, would recommend to anyone!

Tasty, proper smoked bbq but expensive. 3 slices of brisket will set you back £20 and one thick cut pork rib - £16. We were also hurried out once we've finished, with the waitress keen for us to settle the bill very soon after eating. Will return again if I'm in the area though, as the food is very good.

I had the pork ribs and fries they are served cold with so much pepper and chilli I had to ask for mayonnaise to cool my mouth down. Luckily my son with me and ended up eating the meat that was covered in flavouring. The fries were served lukewarm too.. quite unusual seeing as we were first customers in this eve. I’ve given 2 stars as the staff were lovely ! Not for non spicy folks, portion sizes are small and it is expensive

Amazing place! One would be suspicious upon first seeing it, but we had an amazing time. The staff is cheerful and helpful. Funny atmosphere with the owners old school US car parked outside. But all this pales in comparison to the food. We tried almost everything and it didn't disappoint. The beef brisket, the pork ribs, hallapenno cornbread, the deserts, tasty and reminded me of my visit to Texas. I would definitely give this one a try - a hidden gem. We will be back!

I was lucky enough to travel to the states for my 50th and we ate award winning slow cooked BBQ food a few times. I have tried quite a few so called BBQ places in London and around the 4 counties. Texas Joe's is the real deal, I was so excited to eat my Beef rib but had to stop to talk to the chef's and thank them. The flavour was fantastic spot on Texas style, the quality of the meat was first class. My wife had the slow cooked pork butt, and yes I had to take some just to sample it. Wow it was amazing, the meat was juicy and seasoned so well. Both were cooked to perfection and I have to be honest it was the best I've tasted from the UK and Europe. The brisket was amazing, really tender and full of flavour. We all loved the stuffed jalapenos too - what's not to like about pepper, stuffed with meat and wrapped in meat.

Despite arriving at an empty restaurant first thing for dinner when they just opened the waitress seemed intent on giving us the worst table (admittedly didn’t book), all the food came at once which meant by the time the mains came they were going cold. £90 for 2 as well (card only) pork ribs weren’t great and I remember all the portions being bigger , £8 for for 3 jalapeños wrapped in bacon is pushing it. Smoke rings weren’t as deep as previous as well, wings were tough and tasted as if they were cooked in the oven then put in the smoker for 10 minutes (£10 for 5) *Kaboui ramen next door used to be one of my favourite spots

We visited at the weekend and had some of the most amazing delicious slow cooked meat that I have ever had in London - I tried the mutton shoulder and my partner the brisket - both were divine! I would also like to offer a big shout out to the tasty buttermilk pie dessert! We sat at a table in the bar area and loved the atmosphere there, very cosy and romantic!

Walk into Texas Joe's and the smell is a pretty good indicator of how tasty your food is going to be. I've been a few times with our swimming group in the last month, starting with the pork ribs, which were meaty deliciousness. The last two times I've had the tacos - one chicken and one veg - and they were even better. A big shout out to the staff who have been so flexible, friendly and accommodating.
