Terribly overpriced, over £4 for a weak flat white, fish finger sandwich made with very average supermarket style bread containing basic fish fingers. Two sandwiches and two coffees = £36, including a 10% service charge ! Really poor value for money, very limited pretentious menu. The staff were friendly and the place has a nice ambiance. I won’t be returning due to poor menu, weak coffee, and silly prices.

Tetbury is full of antique shops but is a bit light on when it comes to cafes. This is a good one - on Long Street, where all the antique shops are concentrated. Great full English, baps and coffee, with friendly, efficient service. Bill came to £46.75 for two.

Opened in 2005, Cafe 53 began its life as a small 20 seat cafe, tucked behind Domestic Science. As its popularity grew the business expanded. You can now either enter direct from the shop or alternatively via the doorway entrance on Long Street. The dining area is light and airy and overlooks a lovely Mediterranean style water garden, with additional seating. It was busy even midweek and thus with no tables currently free when we popped in from the shop next door "Domestic Science"we had booked a table for 1 p.m. Our seats at our reserved table were right next to the window affording us a lovely view of the garden. It was a bit of a cold, Autumnal day so sitting inside was preferable although some folks were braver than us and had taken the outside option. We enjoyed a beautiful lunch opting for the Ultimate 53 burger and a Saganaki Greek Salad followed of course by cakes and washed down with great hot coffee. This cafe is slightly more expensive than it’s sister branch in Nailsworth but that’s Tetbury pricing for you!

As someone with food intolerances I greatly appreciated the matcha, beetroot and turmeric latte options with dairy-free milk. Unfortunately, I ordered one with coconut milk and received one with COWS milk, which I didn't realise until I had already taken a couple of sips. It's extremely lucky I don't have a cow's allergy otherwise it could have been a medical emergency. Mistakes happen and it was replaced, but I wasn't offered a refund or a complementary drink to make up for it, which I feel was the least that should have been offered!

Nice ambience and the food, such as it was, tasted great, but not worth the £35 price tag for what was effectively two glorified sandwiches, one small coffee and a canned soft drink (punchily priced at £3.60!) The staff were pleasant, but seemed overstretched even when the cafe wasn't particularly busy. They offered to remove the automatically added service charge, but agreeing to its removal would have felt unnecessarily mean, so we paid it. A nice enough place if you've got deep pockets, but I'm afraid we won't be returning.

Found this cafe on Tripadvisor. Very quirky and friendly environment. Very busy on the day we visited. Dog friendly. Lovely Saganaki and Greek salad - very impressed. Felt the quality of the burger meat in the burger was extremely poor (cheap) and didn’t reflect the other meals and what I would expect given the environment and ambience. I’d struggle to recommend anyone to choose that dish. Overall if you choose the right item it’s a great spot for lunch.

We visited today , the decor was good and the menu looked interesting although we did think it looked overpriced. It took at least 15 minutes for anyone to come over to take our order and then a further 25 minutes before we received it. My daughters coffee was Luke warm but we were not prepared to get it replaced because we didn’t want to have to wait another protracted period of time. The breakfast baps were mediocre, at £11.50 each we felt they should be better. We ordered water but that was never brought to our table. Also it was not like you ever saw a waitress to ask. The bill was a joke as a service charge was cleverly added to the bill! All in all a very expensive breakfast which was not value for money. I definitely would not recommend this place .

Expensive yes, but it’s tetbury and expected. I had the veggie option sourdough with avocado, really nice but small portion/slice of bread. Friend had the full breakfast, are the sausages boiled or raw? We weren’t sure, no colour to them at all! Seems odd, at least brown them off so they look appealing? He didn’t eat them. Expensive and mediocre food, disappointing really.

Struggled to find anywhere for breakfast in Tetbury. Ended up at Cafe 53. The place itself is quite nice in terms of decor etc. Staff dismissive and not welcoming, however we found this to be the general tone of the area to be honest. We felt like an inconvenience even though the place was only 15% full. Staff took 15 mins to take our drinks order then another 10 mins for drinks to arrive. Surprising given drinks were from a carton. Menu was limited and very expensive (a slice of sourdough with vegetarian toppings circa £14) but tasted ok. Small glass of Tropicana smooth orange juice £3 (!) Ambushed at the till for £4 worth of ‘service’ charge which had been automatically added to our bill…for what we’re not sure. All in all, £40 for a barely average breakfast. Bitterly disappointed, avoid!

! ! ¡No pudiste hacerlo! Terrible. We met friends here looking forward to a nice lunch . It was very busy so we did expect to wait a little while . However, we ordered our drinks first which must have taken at least 20 mins . We then ordered our food , this took around 35 mins to come out . Our sourdough toast was burnt and eggs barely warm . My husband should have had sourdough with his breakfast but was given sliced white (perhaps they had run out of sourdough) . It was already buttered and not very well . The portions in the Tetbury breakfast were very poor with one small sausage . For the price we paid we really did not get value for money . Let’s hope it was just an off day and things will improve . Sadly I can’t really comment on a positive. We understand that ingredients can run out but you need to let your customer know and offer an alternative.

Stumbled across this place whilst strolling around Tetbury. Doesn’t look much from the outside but once inside the cafe is at the rear of a building which also houses a gift shop, very popular obviously given the number of people inside.

Caí sobre este encantador café después de una visita a la tienda de violines al otro lado de la carretera. Encantador lugar escondido en un callejón.

Cute little coffee shop teeming with customers so obviously popular. Coffee was nice but sadly the lamb in the lamb pitta was tough and the pitta dry and the mozzarella panini a bit tasteless so couldn’t recommend those dishes but the salads looked good.

Very generous portions had the chicken a Nd mayo sandwich. Nice side of coleslaw. Others had Paninis which were great too. Quirky style

A great place for coffee and cake, plus a whole lot more. Cafe is situated on the ground floor of an "antiques" emporium. Relaxed atlosphere and a beautifal garden

Read good reviews so thought we would try it ourselves and certainly weren’t disappointed. Both the Tetbury full breakfast and the avocado and poached egg on sour dough were excellent. Freshly squeezed orange juice. All served in quirky rustic relaxed setting and friendly staff.

The entrance is small but there are large internal and external seating areas. On a warm summer day the garden is delightful and has sufficient shade for a relaxed lunch.

Really lovely food - had avo-vege eggs on sourdough toast, then coffee and the best cheese cake ever. Heaven. Perfect stop gap on a 20 mile bike ride.

This is a really welcome, beautifully renovated addition to the area. A warm and friendly local with stone walls and open fires. Food is very good, modern pub style at a very reasonable price for The Cotswolds. Staff are very friendly and efficient and the clientele are a great combination of locals at the bar, people eating and walkers, cyclists etc calling in for a pint. Been several times since it reopened and all have been good.

Served a Biarra Moretti, didn’t look right, went back to the bar to complain, was told there was nothing wrong with the pint and no chance of changing. Batman very rude.
