Tesco Cafe in Peterborough

The food wasn’t presented very well & waited nearly 30 minutes for breakfast to come out. The hot drink was served within minutes, but cold by the time the food arrives. No apology whatsoever for how long it had taken to bring the hot food out. On another occasion, I ordered a takeaway cappuccino also took nearly 10 minutes was tasteless & lukewarm milk. In my opinion they were all to busy getting out delivery orders & making that a prority. There was flies everywhere & just to add that it smells like sewage throughout the whole store. Very disappointing for somewhere I use quite regular.

25 mins to wait for 2 coffees using the self ordering. 20 after ordering I mentioned to a member of staff that we ordered coffee 20 mins ago. Curt reply, said busy, no apology or ticket check Won’t use again

Went to this cafe yesterday. My wife had a coffee and a cheese and spring onion toasty, both were cold when they arrived at the table. I had a bacon roll, the bacon in the roll seemed as if it had been boiled not fried. I also had a pot of tea that wasn't exactly hot. My table was clean when I arrived at the cafe but many other tables were not. A woman at a nearby table had to get tissues from her hand bag to clean her own table. A big drop in standards since it first opened. I won't be going there again.

went for coffee and snack with my husband at 1.30 everything we tried to order was sold out very helpful Tesco Employee advised us that the cafe is its own eternity but he spoke to someone in the cafe and he was advised that they were short staffed and were having to close early only thing available was hot drink this isant the first time this has happened and to make matters worse when we asked the member of staff if we could purchase a cake or scone that were on display she told us no they were closing I can assure you I won't be going there again

Flies everywhere, sauce bottles virtually empty food was bland. Just find the new self serve has made it so you have to wait for someone to bring your drink where as before when you payed for food you would take you drink from the pay counter to your table so you had that whilst you waited for food.

Poor food quality, by the time it arrived as the staff couldn’t find our table/order number! Getting served , I had no cards on me but had a £20 note

Too long to wait for anything, an order station has been replaced by staff, queues to use, too long to wait for your order but the staff are run ragged, shame on you Tesco, as long as you make as much profit as possible your not bothered about the customers or staff, other shops are available so that's me done with them.

This used to be a very nice place to have a tea and relax for a short while. Unfortunately it has been modernised and now you have to order at a station. This sounds a good idea but it fails miserably. Whilst here helped a couple of people as they were struggling to understand the machine. Ordered 2 teas and waited over 20 minutes for it to arrive and then there was no milk. You would think the tables would be cleared and cleaned quickly but no, Tescos have taken full advantage of this snd reduced staff. The outcome of this is I have seen 3 people working here but on arrival all the tables were full of plates cups etc and no one was clearing them or cleaning the tables. Our thoughts are now we will go elsewhere as this is a massive backwards step. We only hope that this has not been put in place in all the cafes.

Friendly service. However, the trays are absolutely filthy. I actually lifted some on the pile and they are ALL filthy. They need to be thoroughly cleaned!!!

Came at lunch time, spent time reviewing the menu options, I decided on The breakfast as nothing else appealed, my wife chose Katsu rice bowl and my daughter chose chicken strips with chips. When we went to order our food, I was told that the breakfasts were no longer available even though they state served all day. I chose to have a cheese scone. When the food arrived, the Katsura dish was severely lacking in substance, my daughters chips sprinkled in paprika rendering them inedible for her. The food was pretty expensive given the portion sizes presented

25 minutes waiting in a queue of 4 people. Stop employing slow people, if people come for breakfast they want it before lunchtime

Went there 11.30 on a sunday morning qued for a good 20 mins finally got to counter to be told we are not taking anymore food orders as we are to busy the cafe was half empty you always have a good 30mon wait even when it's not busy no signs up saying no food thin g was they were still bring cooked food out to people most of what they do is fry ups My advice dont bother go to the subs cafe opposite better choice better food better service and your not treat like crap

We popped in for a tea, Cappuccino and biscuits and cake before doing our shopping and the experience was very poor. The woman that was "serving" was miserable, not customer orientated and seemed like she didn't want to be there. After placing and paying for our order she abruptly shoved the tray in front of us without comment. Despite it being very obvious that we have mobility issues (walking stick and rollator) there was no offer of helping to carry the tray to a table for us. A customer sitting at an adjacent table offered to help !! There was litter on the floor and six tables that had not been cleared of dirty crockery etc. It wasn't as if they were even busy as there was only one customer there before us and another that came after. The member of staff was making a big deal of emptying the rubbish bins as loudly as she possibly could and, all in all, it was not a pleasant atmosphere. We won't be going there again.

I use this cafe weekly and the service is fantastic, very polite staff, always have smiles on there faces and always very helpful. The food is seriously yummy. Went in here this morning for my usual breakfast (Fry up) wow can't rate them enough. I was served by Karl on the till and his customer service was outstanding, very professional and extremely helpful and a big smile. Thank you to all Tesco Cafe staff for making my morning a enjoyable one. Keep up the good work team Tesco ! :)

Ordered and paid for food. Sat down, waited. Half an hour later asked where my food was. Had not given order to kitchen. "We'll do it now." they said. My response, "don't bother just give me my money back." which they did and I left.

Never really been here, but my friend and I went for breakfast, there’s a food selection, and you get a real good plateful for £4, and lovely lattes to accompany, we sat chatting for an hour, it was busy, but everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the staff were wearing masks, which seems to be a novelty in most parts of Peterborough so well done to all the staff, overall very pleasant and will definitely be returning again.

Had a fantastic meal as always lovely and very helpful staff, extremely pleasant. Would like to say a well done to Pauline who kept me up to date with the problem they had in the kitchen which held up my meal but was not a problem because I was kept informed about it all. Brilliant customer service from both members. I had the crispy chicken burger which was the best burger I ever have had. Definitely recommend this meal. Will be coming back again :) Well done :)

I really like this cafe and bring my toddler here when we do our supermarket shopping. I’m surprised at the negative reviews as it what it is- a cheap and cheerful supermarket cafe. The varied menu is good and kids eat free if an adult has a meal during the summer holidays. The staff work really hard under pressure. A new manager has just started so hopefully things will improve.

We popped in for breakfast before my eye appointment on Saturday 26th, we waited nearly half an hour before we got our food even though there was only one lady and her son before us. The cashier cooked our toast which he used his hands to get the bread out the bag and toaster and he didn't wash his hands before hand. Our food was cold and awful, I had drank my warm coffee before we got our food. Will definitely not be returning waste of money as we left most of it. The lad clearing tables only wiped tables and not any chairs that had been sat on by previous people.

My daughter and I arrived here for a spot of lunch today 29/09/2020. The menu is very limited atm nevertheless we ordered a Cheese & Tomato Panini and Macaroni cheese. After 30 minutes wait, I went back to the cashier to see where our order was. No joy there just a confrontation of we are only staffed with 4 people today that’s why it’s taking longer. 1 on check out, 1 cleaning tables who was just chatting away with some other lady for the whole hour we was there waiting,not cleaning down tables so not doing her job, 1 in the kitchen and 1 serving food. Hmmm not my problem but I sat back down. 50minutes later our food arrived Macaroni cheese in a small I mean small dish with a small side salad which tbh was so wilted you could not really recognise what was what. And as for my Panini well it was TOAST only toasted on one side the other side warm bread and a Ham & Cheese toastie. Erm that’s not what i ordered!!! I could be a vegetarian !! This cafe is a joke regarding food and service. How could they get a simple order of food so wrong and the wait is appalling. The cafe only had 6 other customers in store waiting so not really rushed if there feet. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE

Not many tables In use and very minimal menu.The guy behind counter took our tracking information.. And then our order.Sat down coffees bought over.. No offer of sugar.The Breakfast we ordered was OK, but once again no offer of sauce or salt etc, meal was just plonked down.Few people was queuing and lots of tables empty but no one was clearing them. The guy behind the counter could of been doing this while no one was ordering.When the queue was rather long we heard the lady behind the counter shout about no clean tables to the customers! Which in our option was very unprofessional. (one lady had already walked out).Think it's time they either get new staff or up on the training.

came in today for breakfast still waiting after 45mins the breakfast was cold, scrambled eggs full of water and bland, hash browns were soggy went to complain about it did not offer to compensate me never have food from here again

Went in there at 1215 yesterday lunchtime after hubby had finished work, Friday 21st August. The rotund man with glasses, who never wears his name badge (his name is Anthony) served a customer then ignored us and walked away behind the counter!Our party consisted of myself, hubby and adult son. I asked how long was the wait for food. Rotund man said ‘it’s 3/4 of an hour, despite him not even bothering to ask what we would like! (I only wanted a panini).He then came round the front of the counter and filled the gangway with 2 large ‘wet floor’ cones thereby blocking our way through!!We’d seen and heard enough! His behaviour was disgusting. Don’t bother visiting here, shocking service

Popped in for a quick bite and a cold drink. Barely any cold drinks to choose from, no diet drinks (but the shop was full of them so we got one from there instead) 1 bottle of still water in the fridge on one of the hottest days of the year! Not acceptable. Ordered 2 pieces of cake and the waitress forgot to bring them out, when prompted she brought one of them and not the other and when prompted again for the other brought the wrong one out. Wouldn't mind if they were busy but only 6 other customers in the cafe! Tables full of dirty pots not being cleared.

We looked forward to enjoying a quick lunch at the Tesco cafes. However, we were really disappointed at the service here. I asked for a panini to be heated, I was told it would be bought out (no table marker). Over 10 minutes later, it had not appeared, so I asked. Overheard a comment of " what panini". It was then found and processed and arrived nice and hot but not as toasted as I would like. My wife had jacket potato with cheese and beans. Good size portion with the beans served over the cheese. The beans were also cold.In general my observation was that the servers were very disorganised and could do with a better system and training.

I bypassed the other rubbish food outlets and decided to brave Tesco's café.It's been 12 years since I ventured into here and last time was a disastrous experience. This time, I opted for the pie and chips.The "steak and mushroom" pie was quite tasty but devoid of mushrooms and fairly cold. The chips appeared to have been hanging around for hours (it was 12.30) and the peas had been cooked to death.With the only other options being a terrible Burger King and a Sub Express with a mind-numbing menu, I left feeling I should have chanced my arm at the overpriced M&s or the pretentious Costa - perhaps not. Should have stayed hungry.All in all, another miserable experience in a Tesco café. It seems it doesn't matter what area of the country you visit, Tesco's cafés are consistently dreadful

Was with daughter and 2 grandchildren, daughter recovering from operation and youngest needed high chair, lady on the till carried the tray of drinks while I sorted children so daughter didn't have to, really helpful and appreciated

Bacon - Surprisngly okBeans - you couldn’t really mess those upThe server used my plate to scoop the eggs and beans on to it, leaving it dripping over the side as he passed it to me. I paid £14.97 for two breakfasts. I over paid by £14.97.

We wanted a hearty breakfast so popped in to Tesco cafe a Hampton The breakfast was great really nice staff but the cafe could do with a lick of paint but the place was clean & food was good

A great selection of quality hot and cold food and snacks. Tea & coffee and cold drinks available. Plenty of space to enjoy a relaxed and tasty meal

We popped in here for a coffee and snack after a day in the town centre. In its defence, the coffee was good and the peppermint tea was all right. Their approach to gluten free leaves a lot to be desired. Although the carrot cake is cooked as gluten free, we were told that it cannot be guaranteed to be gluten free as it's unwrapped. The one of us that is coeliac opted for a couple of wrapped gluten-free snacks.We thought it might be worth a try for breakfast the next day. The food looked appetising and freshly cooked but it was a non-starter for anyone who is coeliac. The hash browns are cooked with gluten-containing ingredients and the bacon was sitting on top of gluten-containing sausages. There was no gluten free toast on offer so we opted to go somewhere else for breakfast. We will definitely not eat there again.

Told 20min wait for cooked breakfast, asked for jacket potatoes with cheese and beans, told beans would take 3minutes, in the meanwhile ordered drinks, sat down ,about 10mins later food was given to us. person who brought it to us seemed to be unsure which table it was for.I suggest that you should have a number ticket to stand on the tables to help the staff find correct table that meals are for..

Coffee ok.. food was edible but cold.. but service is terrible. Tesco, please get some staff who care. A 'little' friendliness, a 'little' bit of conversation, a 'little' smile 'would help'.

Went in for lunch today decided to have Tea Cake and coffee . Big mistake . Tea cake was half toasted and can only be described as like cardboard . Coffee was luke warm. Will not be eating there again 😞😞😞

Went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Only 2 people serving who looked half dead and we had to wait around 10 minutes to be served. The person who served us was very scruffy and looked like he had just woken up. The other female staff member had a face like thunder and clearly didn't want to be there!. I also noticed the grumpy attitude when she shouted "How many items" at me at the till. When we finally got to our table to eat, our drinks had been filled so far up with hot water, they had spilt all over the tray. The food on the plate was cold and really poor quality for £5 worth. Sorry, won't be eating here again!

Went for some food feeling hungry when went to Hampton on Sunday. Yuk! food was of poor quality and service poor, should of saved the money, my fault as I was the one who insisted, won't make this mistake again unless Tesco do something drastic to improve the place.

How about instead of putting one teacake in to cook, then putting a second one in and then doing the coffees at the end. That makes the food cold!!! Every time this happpens!!!

This is my go to place for coffee when my legs get tired and wife is shopping. Fast efficient service and good value

Metimos en un café hoy y el servicio era terrible! Había una camarera detrás del mostrador de quejarse de la cucharas de té muy alto a las otras dos mujeres. Una mujer delante de mí pedido un gran chocolate caliente. Y me dieron dos pequeñas tazas de chocolate caliente ya que no cualquier grandes! ! Estos eran prácticamente tiraron a ella con un montón de la bebida de ir al plato y ninguna disculpa. Debería haber ido a nuestro típico café favorito al otro lado del camino, pero me apetecía cambiar.

Pedí dos salchichas pequeñas y huevos revueltos. Cuando la tapa se eliminó desde el recipiente manteniendo el huevo caliente pude ver algunas eran descolorido, el asistente poner una cucharada en el plato, pero me negué y pedí un huevo frito en vez de. Tanto las...

Así llegamos al café tesco en Hampton para el desayuno. Persianas abajo, sin señales en cualquier lugar. Preguntamos a un miembro del personal de "a qué hora abres" a lo cual él le gritó "no nos gusta". Ninguna explicación o siquiera venir y hablar con nosotros. Atención al cliente Atención al cliente qué? ? ? Evitar!

Compra un pastel y una copa en la cafetería una tarde tranquila el viernes. Sólo había una pareja en todo el café (que es bastante grande, con un montón de asientos) entonces me senté y empezó a amamantar a mi bebe. Yo había terminado mi bebida y pastel en este punto, y el personal de la cafetería se acercó y preguntó si id pedir nada más, como los asientos eran "los clientes de pago único". Bastante molestó esta realmente, ya que estaba necesitando para alimentar a mi bebé.

Tesco Cafe in Serpentine Green is just a basic tesco cafe. Used to be good but gradually standards have slipped. but still good for the occassional snack meal when shopping at the mall.

We popped here for lunch the other day. The service was a bit slow. Restaurant area could be cleaner. The food was average.

Had a nice coffee after shopping. Clean and staff nice. Coffee went down well what more can you say!

Good selection of hot & cold food and sandwiches. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Also ver well prices in comparison with other supermarket cafes. I'd recommended

This is an ok cafe selling ok drinks and snacks. It's ideal for a quite coffee after a walk round the centre.The staff clearly work hard but like lots of these places there are too few of them which then leaves them struggling to keep up with serving customers and clearing tables.

Recently visited with my daughter and granddaughter and thought the child meal was excellent value. A choice of 5 items including a roll, fruit, crisps, yogurt and drink for under £3

visited on Wednesday 4 February I had 8 item breakfast plus pot of Tea came to 6.08 a bit dear but food is nice well cooked would have liked toast included for the money though nice fried bread

I visited here for breakfast and was very happy with the choice and that it wasn't greasy and was very tasty and was good for a quick breakfast on a day out.

This is just a standard tesco coffee shop , good tea and coffee whilst shopping. Don't expect anything fancy just basic fare at basic price.
