Stopped for lunch which was excellent. Had a large cheeseburger with all the trimmings and a nice cappuccino. Good value as well. In addition to the lovely meal the two charming ladies serving couldn't have been more helpful; including giving my noisy dachshund some tasty sausage! Thank you and I will certainly be back.

Absolutely fantastic service. Forgot my bank card & didn't have cash available I though I was going hungry, however they have an option to bank transfer . I asked for a large egg roll and it was ready in a heart beat. Cooked to perfection & tasted amazing. Would highly recommend 👌.

My “Go to” spot during my frequent business trips to Cornwall. Always friendly with a smile, sardonic wit and a good bit of banter. Decent roadside grub at a fair price. Kept many drivers going over the Pandemic, there’s not many little snack stops like this left, it’s all “Costalot” and “Maccy D’s” I would rather use Terrys. Can specifically recommend Emma’s Tofu and Quinoa surprise burger. Served on a bed of Rocket, with a Pea Foam drizzle and a Quince Jus. Utterly divine! Great ladies, lovely scoff.

Started stopping here regularly as they have been providing an invaluable service to truckers and delivery drivers heading into Cornwall. Always somewhere to park and best of all a nice smile from the ladies who run it. They sell Etheringtons Pasties, which are the nicest in Cornwall and also do a decent Cheese Melt. Prices are fair, service is good and a sure sign, it is always busy. The best roadside "Oasis of Scoff" I have found in Cornwall. Nice one Ladies, keep it up. The Sausage Dog Guy.

Travelling down with the family, was going to stop at Route38 but was told there was better down the road. For a layby van the food was great, local meats quick service with a smile and priced properly, glad I went there instead of paying silly money for badly cooked "American" food!

If you are on the A38 westbound in SE Cornwall and need a pitstop, its well worth trying this one. Between the Menheniot and Looe junctions just outside Liskeard, the food is great with a nice cuppa and a friendly welcome.

Not sure whether there have been significant changes, maybe not complete, or even a change of ownership or staff. Called in this morning for a hot drink and bite only to find no Terry’s Tasties signage, a lot of peeling paint on the old metal container and also associated wood. There seems to be a new menu sign and the old large notice proudly referring to home made pasties has been replaced by one explaining its now Rowe’s Bakery pasties. There was a fair bit of commercial traffic parked up but no one inside while I was waiting. All a bit disappointing, but who knows, everything may have been tweaked for the better and it has not put me off stopping by for a large mug of tea and a plateful when I next pass.

Depends what your interpretation of a good burger is? This is a clean, well run stop off tucked away in a lay by on the A38 going westbound just before Liskeard. You could call it a burger van with a small add on eating shed. Granted the menu offers a bit more in choice than the normal van experience and you do get more confidence that hygiene and cooking methods are more upmarket. What disappointed me a little was the burger. To be honest it was nothing different than the normal low grade catering burgers you usually find outside football grounds. Ok, it's a lay by stop off and what should I expect? I realise that and I have no criticism of what I paid for, just feel some of the glorified reviews on here gave me an impression it was going to be a different upmarket experience to the normal burger van offering, no disrespect, it wasn't. Nothing wrong with it for a straight forward hot snack though and it's reasonably priced for Cornwall.

Recomendado.

Unconventional restaurant review subject but it is worth it. Very busy layby with big yellow converted metal container. Steady trade, quick cooking and fresh tasting ingredients, good tempered punters (despite the handwritten sign warning against unguarded use of earthy language), and an outgoing personality of the lady who does everything. Warning, closes early afternoon and maybe not very much if at all at weekends.

Big layby right on the A38. Usually busy. Bright yellow box is greasy spoon snack bar. Mostly counter trade but stools and ledges inside. Lively loquacious lady does the welcoming and the cooking. Seems to have a robust view on everything so no fear here that you might be left with nothing to chat about. Wide selection of predictable but well cooked priced and quickly served food and drink.

We knew it used to close not long after two but thought we'd heard that it had pushed that back to four or five for the mid summer. Sadly our presumption was wrong and all we found was the neatly locked up yellow cabin. No further food till the Halfway House near Trago which is not remotely the same. We score high again for an intervening visit when it was open at midday a fortnight ago and the service was as good as ever.Wish there was a web site so we could keep track.

Like this roadside snack stop and been coming regularly for years. Busy but efficient during main hours. Just wish that they would do what often happens in other well established places, which is to accept mobile phone orders. We drive to Truro and west Cornwall a lot, usually very pressed for time. If we could phone ahead with an order for our burgers or sandwiches and takeaway teas it would make a lot of difference. Not quite the Lewis Hamilton 7 second pitstop but three rather than ten minutes would be a bonus. Must say though, no complaints whatever about the food efficiency and friendly hospitality here.

Pity Tripadvisor won't upgrade the photo to the appear when you scroll through the Liskeard listings because this is a distinctive feature as you drive up or down this stretch of the A38. We like Terry's because of the invariable helpful friendly and efficient traditional welcome. The food maybe the usual selection but as with favourite places it always seems to be that little bit more tasty. We stop here not just because Terry's is good but this is a big safe lay by, there are proper public lavatories and there are almost always a good bunch of other eaters which gives company to chat. Like it. And of course there is inside if wet or blowy!

You may not spot it at speed as you pass it west bound on the A38 and if you heading towards Plymouth you may think that the complication and dangers of doubling back are not quite justified but once you know that this place is here and that you can slip in for use of the public convenience as well as stopping by a very efficient and friendly snack bar then you will find that it is probably the best option for many miles in either direction..

On the west bound side of the A38 a mile or so short of Liskeard is a busy lay-by with lavatories and a constant stream of lorries coaches and cars. From about seven in the morning till mid afternoon a bright yellow transport container is open as a snack bar. A great hole/servery cut into one side and the interior converted into a slightly foreboding cafe area. All the usual offerings, eggs burgers bacon sausages cheese etc naps and sandwiches with large hot and cold drinks served by friendly staff in coordinated yellow tops. Nothing exciting but fast friendly and an oasis in the desert. Last option before Trago and the A30.

Booked a two day getaway for R & R through Booking.com. Stayed Saturday and Sunday nights on B&B basis. (1st & 2nd March) We checked in around 3pm and were taken to the room by friendly staff member. The room was introduced as a "Cabin" style room. At first we thought that it was quite small and very little room to move. Facilities were excellent and very clean and modern. Especially the bathroom. Again small but useable. Bedroom space was very different, tiny area, hanging space was at a premium. 3 shirts and the space was full. The bed was enclosed in a tight corner with only one access side, so exiting was difficult to say the least. I enquired about a bigger room and the extra cost to do so. I was informed that if someone did not show up I would be informed and the room would be offered. That unfortunately did not happen. I explained that my wife had limited mobility and found it difficult to enter and exit tight spaces but it appeared to fall on deaf ears. A follow up to say sorry no rooms were available might have helped us decide not to stay the second night. I think maybe it would have been better to book direct with the Hotel and the possibility of discussing room size etc. I thought for the money we paid Booking.com the room would have been more standard size. I get Genius discount with Booking.com so my assumption was completely wrong. We likened the room more to "Rabbit Hutch" more than "Cabin" For the price we paid I would consider the room expensive and more to be used as single occupancy rather than double. All other aspects of our stay were lovely, the staff, the public area's, food and drinks were all very good. The only other worry I have is parking ticket arriving at a later date. I asked at the time of check in if it was in order to park just up the road in the general Car Park and was told to give my Reg number to reception and that would be ok. On leaving the Car Park I noticed the "Have you paid an displayed" sign. We gave our details to a young lady service at the bar and she said she would enter it at reception on our room number (4). I checked later after returning from a walk and found it had not been and was done then but informed there would be a problem because the Car Park was not monitored. I hope that statement was correct!
