We booked the London Afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful experience and a fabulous selection. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh. The scones were very tasty, and then the special sweet treats shaped in iconic london buildings looked amazing. You are also spoilt for choice with a selection of teas and coffees. My top tip is to see what the london buildings are made of .. flavour wise, as there may be something else on one of the other menus you'd prefer. After we almost finished up, they started to play happy birthday and proceeded to bring me out a separate mini birthday cake. Very nice touch. They do takeaway boxes, which was lucky as we couldn't finish everything. Hazel, our server, was great at explaining how it all worked, and they had a selection of versions of the menu. Vegan, vegetarian, as well as gluten-free, and a kids selection. She was very attentive without being intrusive. Very polite. Would highly recommend this lovely treat for a birthday, etc.

While staying at The Dilly Hotel we decided to book an afternoon tea. We also had breakfast here and all I can say the staff are exceptionally attentive. They are all very friendly with a smile and consistently check that you are happy and if you need anything more! It’s very clean, bright and the food served is of high quality. Amazing service from all. We were also presented with complimentary sparkling wine each due to not being able to have the birthday cake due to a nut allergy. My afternoon tea looked the same as my husbands but was nut free, this was great as all other afternoon teas I’ve had, haven’t always been impressive and have looked plain in comparison to my friends teas!! 100% effort and service, highly recommend The Dilly Afternoon Tea.

We really enjoyed the London Landmarks afternoon tea at The Dilly. Everyone was very friendly and the quality of the pastries was excellent. The dark chocolate was of a very high standard. The pastries in the shape of London landmarks such as St Paul's Cathedral and Tower Bridge were delicious. We asked for and were given a box to take home the ones that we couldn't finish there and then as we were full. The decor is nice, with a flower bower at the entrance.

We loved the London themed afternoon tea, attention to detail and flavours were amazing. The cakes and biscuits taste even better than they look and the setting was so nice. Having been to an Afternoon Tea at The Dilly before I knew what to expect as it's always been delicious, so once I had seen their London Afternoon Tea advertised I just knew I had to come back! The attention to detail on the London themed pastries was incredible, hats off to the chefs because not only did they look great, they tasted great too! We managed to eat all the savouries, but hit a wall when it came to the sweets. So anything we left we were kindly given a takeaway box to take away anything to enjoy at home. The servers are always so friendly and really take the time to go through the menu and constantly ask if everyone is enjoying themselves or if anyone needs anything etc. It really is a great treat for those special occasions and would definitely come back to sample their lunch menu one day.

Great place. I went with my husband and 4 year old for afternoon tea on Mothers Day weekend. I was a bit worried looking at some of the reviews but we had a great time! We requested the heat to be turned down, which never happened. We stayed with you for a total of 3 nights. I have not had a full nights sleep during any of those nights, I was either woken by house keeping staff being verbally noisy or by the crashing and banging of their trolleys outside our room. The lack of consistency in relation to housekeeping was also very dissatisfying. The water bottle in the room was only replaced once during our 3 night stay. One night we decided to have a drink the downstairs bar, a member of bar staff stated that if we tipped on our card the tip would be shared amongst the rest of the staff and he would not get as much. He then requested cash as this would be better for him. The entire experience was embarrassing for everyone concerned. Our friends who were also staying with you (from the USA, where there is a very different tipping culture) were also very shocked at the lack of decorum and tact from your staff. On the morning of our checkout the housekeeping team knocked on our door 3 times to basically ask us to leave. I was under the impression that checkout was at midday not when your team needed to turn the room around. We had to utter the sentence “can you please leave us alone”. The entire stay has been very disappointing and we were made to feel so unwelcome by your team in the end it was a relief to be leaving. The doorman (a gentleman from Yorkshire) was very professional and informative, both he and Abdul are the best assets you your business.

I booked the London afternoon tea. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious. We were given refills of sandwiches and scones, which was fab! The staff were lovely, but service could have been quicker. The menus were taken off us after ordering our first drink - we didn’t notice until after. So when going to order our second round of drinks we had to ask for the menu again, but the staff were busy , so this took some time.

The lunch time menu is quite limited but all of the food is nicely presented and extremely reasonable for a five star hotel. Everything feels very new, contemporary and clean. Truly bizarre experience at The Dilly yesterday. Arrived wanting drinks and light snacks, asked the Concierge if The Terrace was open. The Concierge was very welcoming and reassured us yes. He took us to the lift and sent us up to the correct floor. We arrive in The Terrace and ask for a table for light food and drinks to be met by a very confrontational staff member who stated 'no we are not open'. I checked Google which said they were open, and said we had been guided up there by the Concierge. To repeatedly be told 'no food, no drinks, not open'. What was even more confusing was there were people clearly outside on the Terrace, all the lights were on and staff were there. There was no sign of a private event. We went back down in the lift to speak with The Concierge and inform him of what had happened. We said we want to come and spend money in a relaxed environment and we were then told 'oh if she says it's closed, then it's closed'. We left soon after feeling incredibly confused, frustrated, and baffled that we weren't able to get simple food and snacks in a bar that was meant to be open. Or was it? Who knows, the staff surely didn't.

Disappointing. Firstly, as other people rightly point out, rather unprofessional service. We’ve been brought other people’s food twice (although the place was other empty). Secondly, the food was nothing special. For this price range especially. We had burgers and the meat was very dry and overcooked. Truly awful. Appaling service, server had clearly had no training and had no idea of customer care. We waited 40 minutes for our food, only half of it came as server had ‘forgotten’ the rest of the order. No explination or apology, just walked away. We had no idea if the remaining food was coming or not. We decided to cancel anyway as the food we had been served was some of the worst I have ever seen or tasted in a London restaurant. The salt and pepper squid was actually frozen calamari rings which were horribly over fried and inedible. The chicken croquettes were equally tasteless but slightly more edible. The rest never came! It was a terrible experience and unless they improve radically, I would advise any potential diners to chose somewhere else.

Lovely terrace for an afternoon tea, really let down by the service that was slow and painful and got a lot wrong. It took over 30mins to get drinks, which came in bits after the food arrived. Even just a glass of water I had to re-request 5 times. We asked the waitress if they had any non alcoholic beers and she replied 'I don't know' and stood waiting for our order. We asked if she could check and she said okay and never returned. 10mins later after trying to flag the staff at the bar, the lady I assumed to be maitre d' was walking past and I called out 3 times to get her attention and asked if we could order. She said yes she'd find someone. The previous waitress returned soon after. I asked if she'd found out about the beers 'oh no sorry I forgot...' my husband said nevermind, he'd just order a water. It took a few requests of a few people to get our drinks, with all of us having the afternoon tea spread so no food confusion to throw in. And this was after the maitre d returned to ask if we'd received everything. No, I responded and listed the 4 things we were still chasing down. She said if they'd been ordered then it should be fine. I said 'No, please follow these up as I believe they've been forgotten'. I believe she did bit we didn't see her again. We settled the bill. As we were leaving a young waiter who'd brought part of our drinks order came up to us with another bill for two items we didn't have. We said those weren't ours and he shrugged and left. All rather confusing. The tea spread itself was great, as were the Peter Rabbit crockery sets. Shame the experience was so tedious, plus 12.5% service charge was ridiculous. Finally in the booking I mentioned a birthday as it asked if we were celebrating anything. This was not acknowledgement at all which was a pity. Sadly due to service I wouldn't go back nor recommend it.

Awful, plenty of young friendly staff, but not trained, waited 40 minutes, no food arrived so we paid for drinks and left. Furnishings stained, plants on outside terrace dead. Asked to speak to Duty manager of Hotel, she agreed service was awful in Terrace but they were awaiting a new manager. Don't open it then!!!. I subsequently emailed hotel as we r due to stay overnight New Year eve, quite costly, they haven't even replied I think we'll be looming elsewhere. Fantastic location, but on what we experienced very far from a top star hotel. We crossed the Rd and went to Gaucho, excellent, then a drink at The Lanseborough, again excellent. Suggest the mgmt of The Dilly visit both, to see proper service.

First time I have ever written a review, not something I would normally do but felt compelled after our visit. We visited the Terrace twice while staying at the hotel. On our evening meal, Cold starters we ordered (a cold prawn dish and cold crab salad, no cooking required) took an hour to come out… mains another 40mins. Also the wait for drinks was far too long…and the restaurant was far from busy. We returned for breakfast, sadly many items from the buffet had run out and were not being replaced, the stuff that was there was Luke warm. I had to get up to find a waitress and ask for salt, she walked off (I assumed to fetch some) and never returned leaving me standing there in the middle of the restaurant. Orange juice dispenser was broken and I actually ended up standing and pouring it out for the rest of the customers. The entire place had the vibe that most people were unhappy with what they were experiencing. I overheard many tables complaining about the standards of the food and service. Shame as if run properly could be a real highlight to the hotel but instead really lets it down! That being said the hotel itself was lovely and they did refunded the meal. They also were on hand for all our needs throughout the stay with them so would recommend staying there.

No pudimos entender.

Has gone downhill. I went a while back maybe 2 years when there was a large menu with great selection of fish. Now it's a cut back menu with basics and it's very pricey. A lot of tea at the end of the meal was 6 pounds! Daylight robbery. Will not be going back. Such a shame

Our family had booked The Terrace for my 60th birthday treat. The food was superb and the unlimited prosecco wonderful. My husband was shocked when refused the last two glasses as I was full!We were well looked after by Katia and her colleague, who were both professional and entertaining. A lovely day out. Thank you.

With a prime location in central London, a restaurant offering lovely views over Piccadilly, the Peter Rabbit themed afternoon tea is full of promise, however it doesn't deliver. It's a shame, as the place and the theme are full of possibilities.

Food was absolutely amazing and every option on the menu looked delicious, it was hard to choose! Good value for what you get and for the quality of the food. The service matched the food, and the staff were very attentive. A perfect atmosphere for a special occasion or a more casual night out, with a beautiful interior! I would highly recommend this restaurant and definitely plan to return in the future. A big thank you to everyone involved for a fantastic evening.

Food was very tasty, only problem my husband needed more choice only turkey option all others were veg based for mains. We would visit again. Thank you so much for a lovely evening.

9 of us had birthday drinks there last night. The service was slow. The waitress gave us a little bowl of tortilla crisps. Half way through the little bowl I bite into two crisps held together by a chewed mint gum. I spited everything out onto a paper napkin. One of my friend drew the attention of the waitress. Her comments was « it’s impossible » and promptly made the evidence disappear before we could take a picture. She later informed us than she had mentioned it to her manager and that she would deal with it at the end of our evening. She didn’t dealt with it. I paid my two none alcoholic drinks and a whisky for the birthday girl. What kind of apologies is that? So please never again. They clearly recycle crips bowls from one customer to the next The waitress kept saying she would have made a scandal if it had been her. But I am not her. I was not going to ruin my friends birthday by having a tantrum.

Afternoon Tea is my favourite weekend hobby. From time to time it can get a little boring with many of the London hotels offering unimaginative variations of a basic afternoon tea. The Terrace at Le Meridian is currently promoting their Peter Rabbit inspired afternoon tea and this is not to be missed. It is the PERFECT experience for little ones, and very fun for adults too. The offering is different - vegetable and humus baguettini, salmon roullade, (but then a traditional ham and cheese sandwich). The cake selection is truly impressive and fun, with edible plant pots and marzipan miniature Peter Rabbit characters that are too cute to eat.

What a super idea this afternoon tea is. We are adults but loved the presentation and food. The setting is lovely, under the arched glass roof and with bustling London outside here is a haven of calm.

Visited for my friend’s birthday & had the Peter Rabbit Afternoon Tea. The concept is fantastic, the attention to details is brilliant & they’re really yummy. However, the service was a bit slow & not very attentive (my friend would’ve had a glass of champagne but we were never asked if we wanted one), they had run out of the tea I wanted & it was lacking finesse. More cream & jam is needed for the scones as a little pot just isn’t enough! It was nice that I could take home the cakes I couldn’t eat in a Peter Rabbit box. Was really excited about visiting but was a bit disappointed with the overall experience, considering the price. Great to say you’ve been but wouldn’t rush back.

Terrible service! We waited half an hour for the menu, another almost an hour for the meal and at the end it turned out that there was no coffee because the machine was broken!!!

Table booked for 17:45 for a concert which began at 19:45 - as I thought two hours would give us enough time to eat and get to our seats in plenty of time. However, I had not banked on the poor service and bad food. The £44 bottle of white wine was warm not cold. The starters were cold not warm. The main course was not quite as expected. The menu said “Roasted crown of Norfolk turkey, apricot and sage stuffing, root vegetables, Brussels sprouts, chestnuts, garlic and herb roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, pigs in blankets, sherry jus” – the turkey roulade with the stuffing was fine, the roast potatoes were fine, however there were no “pigs in blankets”, there was just one “pig in a blanket” all the other vegetables looked as if they had all been put together in a food processor and blitzed – so there were no identifiable individual vegetables. My dessert (a delicious-sounding “Chocolate orange, chocolate mousse, burnt orange jam”) tasted of nothing. My husband’s dessert (supposedly “Mulled wine poached pear, vanilla ice cream, chocolate and pistachio crumb”) was so hard that he had to cut it with a steak knife! When asked if we wanted our (included) coffee with or after dessert, we both said “after”. The coffee then appeared “before” the dessert. The waiter and maitre d’ were not communicating with each other, which meant that they were both asking us separately if we wanted water, order drinks, give our food orders etc. The service was very slow and confusing. The first bill included a £26 tip, which I declined to pay as the service was so bad. The bill was taken away, the service charge removed and the cost of the desserts was removed, but we were kept waiting for about 20 minutes until the revised bill was returned, by which time the concert was about to start. They insisted we were given a free glass of wine to make up for their lapses. Afterwards there was a horrendous queue to use the loos, so we just managed to get to our seats with about 30 seconds to spare before the concert started - having made everyone in the row stand up in order to get to our seats. Thus we finally arrived in our seats very cross and completely stressed, which completely spoiled the atmosphere for us. I found the actual space a bit like a high-ceilinged barn – lacking in atmosphere and not the intimate, expensive restaurant I had expected. I would recommend anyone else planning to eat at the RAH, to eat at Verdi, where we had previously had an excellent meal with extremely fast service and give Elgar a miss.

It's been 8 years since I was last at BoDeans and it did not disappoint. The service was great, gentleman serving me was friendly and inviting. The food was brilliant. Everything tasted fresh and how proper BBQ should be. Would definitely recommend the burnt end. The atmosphere was quiet and chilled for the time I was there with people talking and football on the TV. Ideal.
