Tender Cow in Manchester

La vaca tierna solía ser mi favorita, pero después de la experiencia que tuve la última vez no volveré a ir a ellos, la calidad de la comida ha bajado mucho cuesta abajo, así que como los estándares de higiene, tuve una mala barriga durante tres días después de tener su filete con papas fritas...

Having ordered via the online app and the order being accepted and paid for, with an expected wait time of about 25 minutes, I was a little disappointed that after 40 minutes there was still no sign of my food, especially as my wife had ordered from one of the other vendors and had received her meal in good time. After once more checking the order we spoke to one of the serving staff who couldn't understand the delay either. With that in mind he went to find out what was happening and came back within a few minutes to apologise, but to basically say that Tender Cow had closed the kitchen for preparation, even though they had accepted the order in the first place and taken payment. The server was most apologetic and even he felt it was unacceptable and arranged for a refund. Unfortunately, this was not the first time that I had experienced a similar situation with Tender Cow at Mackie Mayor, but it will certainly be my last. As the server was arranging the refund, upon checking the email confirmation that I receive when ordering... the original order itself was still showing as accepted! With some great vendors in the building, there are much better options that seem much happier to take your money and offer you something worthwhile in return.

Went into the Manchester Tender Cow for breakfast, the entire venue was very quiet at this stage on a weekday, I waited in line to place my order with the lady and after a while realised the person in front was actually working for one of the other establishments and just having a chat at the order point. Despite trying to show that I was waiting to order food for a period of time, the lady was focussed on the conversation so I felt it best to simply go to one of the other establishments where I was instantly served. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to try one of the advertised breakfasts from The Tender Cow.

On 4th feb I went to Mackie Mayor for breakfast. I went to order at Tender Cow at 11:09am, as it was advertised serving until 12 noon. The man serving told me breakfast was finished. I politely told him that on internet it said serving until 12noon. He rudely told me “I’m not a technician, I can’t change it”. He then said “and it’s my kitchen so I do what I want”. I told him he shouldn’t speak to customers like that. He replied sarcastically “thank you” and he ignored me. There were 2 young lads working with him so I said, what kind of example are you setting to these lads if you speak to customers like that. His reply was as before “thank you” but with a smirk on his face. I said I would complain about his behaviour. His reply was “you can put as many complaints as you like”. I was horrified about the way he spoke to me. I was almost in tears. I’m a woman much older than him. I mentioned the incident to one of the Mackie Mayor staff. She couldn’t believe the way I was treated and she was very apologetic. I didn’t quite catch the name of this very unprofessional and rude man. I think it was something like Bun. I would recommend to anybody to think twice about eating at Tender Cow. Use any of the other food companies at Mackie Mayor, you’ll be treated better.
