This is a one-off. Cosy, eclectic cafe tucked away down a long lane on a working farm. Good coffee and fabulous pastries, unlike anything you'll find in a normal café in this country.

We have been visiting Teles Patisserie for a number of years, and have always been delighted with the meals, coffee and cakes. The Portuguese coffee either as a Americano or Latte is special. There is always an opportunity to try Portuguese food that is freshly prepared for you, and well worth waiting for. Ana & Joaquim will welcome you with a warm smile and greeting, happily explaining what is on offer.

5 for pastries, 1 for coffee. Told I was the first person ever to dislike it - that’s us English I suppose - as I watched the watery sadness filling espresso cups from the under-ground/under-tamped puck. It astonishes me that professionals aren’t even dialling in the machines at the start of the day. Undrinkable.

What a find! Was in the the area walking, and used Google maps to find the closest cafe. Google maps told us the wrong way in but we found it eventually! What a treat! Beautiful tarts and pastries, coffee and teas in a stunning location. You can eat in or outside, dog friendly and plenty of room. Will definitely be back!

What a surprising treat to find on the Wherryman's Way! Coffee and pastel de nata to keep me going for the afternoon. Unless I'm mistaken though, I think Google Maps is pointing to a different building? It's to the left of the farm track as you go in, not right. (Pedestrian entrance slightly further east is more obvious).

Visited this little gem TELES PATISSERIE as Martin had biked past and felt it an odd location to have a cafe, must be worth a visit; how right he was. We had a cup of tea and truly delicious tart, one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in a cafe, it’s restaurant standard without a doubt. The setting is unique and rustic the welcome from the host warm and welcoming a wonderful find will definitely be back..

As the cafe is on a working farm, I went to see the calves, very cute and extremely friendly, a lady from the cafe came out to tell me off, she was pointing and straightening a sign that was behind a bush, the sign said nothing about the cows, she then came out later and tried to explain that the calves were scared, I tried to talk to her but she walked off. 10 mins later a couple and their child who she obviously knew came to the cafe and also went to see and stroke the calves..... Nothing was said. Whilst the pastries looked nice the lady who served us certainly wasn't. So super friendly to some (potentially local customers) so very rude to myself and my husband. Mediocre toast, one tea and one coffee over £20. As we stood to leave a dog started licking our plates and ate the leftovers.... Lovely!

What a find! We came for lunch, and the toasties are the best I've had. Delicious bread and quality fillings. Beautifully presented and good value. We then couldn't resist the patisserie (although full!) We had the mixed berries tart and the pear and apple tart. A classic and a novel one, both delicious! Then fresh pastel de nata came out, and we had to have one! Friendly service and lots of coffee choices. We loved our time sitting in the sunshine in the surroundings of the farm. There is a nice farm shop here too. We will be back :)

Disappointed with food paid £9.50 for some hotdogs, 1 scrambled egg on a dry panini with half a plate of salad, drenched in olive oil. Was very quiet when we went so didn't wait long and coffee was nice but got the tiniest cup and was only 3/4 full. Also kept hearing alot of sniffing coming from kitchen which didn't make us comfortable. We had heard it was nice and the cakes looked beautiful but unfortunately we won't be returning.

We took a dog walk from Rockland and was pleased to find the cafe open. We arrived around 3.30pm, there was not much in the cabinet to tempt us so we only had a latte. The sun was shining so we sat outside. Although the Easter holidays it was very quiet with only one other customer which is a shame. I do find the location a little out of the way with no passing trade, let's hope the business can maintain itself, it's a little gem in a quiet village.

The Covid policies are fantastic, face coverings to be worn and one person in at a time with alcohol gel available. I felt extremely safe and well looked after. Great to see such things in place. As a health professional seeing the worst of covid this is so reassuring to see. Mack the dog was also a stand out, a friendly Labrador with his ball that just loves greeting guests outside the patisserie. Today was the second time I visited Teles Patisserie. The first time I went the service from the lady who appears to be the owners wife, was frosty and rude. I felt as though I was inconveniencing her by being there. Today I passed by with some friends and we decided to drop in and buy some coffee and cakes to take away. Her tone was just as rude. We ordered our coffees and cake to go, she said she would bring them out. We just sat ourselves at an empty table whilst we waited. When she came out with our order she laid into us about how we can't just sit where we want especially as we ordered our stuff to go, she said the tables were reserved (there were no other customers around so we weren't taking someones seat) and that she would have to disinfect them now because we sat there. She then proceeded to not only disinfect the table we waited at but all the others around it. I won't go back again, even though the cakes are good it isn't worth being treated like that. I don't recommend the place at all, they don't seem to want customers.

We saw a post from Teles Pattiserie in a local FB group last week and it sounded like a fantastic place. The food and cakes sounded delicious from the website and there were tonnes of great reviews online so we were excited about going for lunch today. When we arrived it was only after midday and there was only one other table of 2 – we asked if we could see a menu (as there wasn’t anything outside) to which the lady behind the counter frostily replied there wasn’t any. There were a few cakes out and she said that’s all there was available. We asked if they were serving any other food as there was no mention of menu restrictions on the website or their posting on FB – she reluctantly told us 2 select menu items were available and went through them like you would with specials on a menu. None of them sounded particularly exciting or like their normal menu but we chose a couple of chicken baguette type things. She didn’t seem too impressed that we wanted to order something that wasn’t cakes and we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing her just being there. The seat we were given was in an area that was infested by wasps (to be expected at this time of year) – this wouldn’t have been so bad if we weren’t waiting over 30 minutes. She came out to tell us the food was delayed because the chef was busy making cakes when she took our order and it would be another 10 minutes – I asked if it was possible to sit inside where we might get some peace from the wasps but she flat out said no, those seats had to be pre booked and there were wasps inside anyway. There was no willingness on her part to try and accommodate us and she really didn’t seem to care about our discomfort. At this stage we were feeling uncomfortable and not welcome so we asked to take our food to go. We got 2 x chicken baguettes and 2 x drinks and it came to £20.50 – when we opened the box the baguettes were actually half a baguette and the bread wasn’t cooked properly. The quality of the chicken was ok but it had very little flavour and tasted of raw garlic and little else. For this price I’d expect much more from a baguette that you had to wait over 40 minutes. You might expect to pay such prices in a café/ restaurant in Central London where the overheads are much higher….but this is barely a step up from a shed on a farm. I’m usually reluctant to leave any bad reviews for small businesses, especially in the current economic climate. If the service had been even remotely friendly and we were made to feel our custom was valued, I would have probably let it go. However, the combination of weird and borderline rude service and mediocre overpriced food has just tipped me over the edge. If you want decent Portugese food and to be treated well as a customer, you would be better going to Jorge’s in Norwich.

We were in the Norwich area and required food. This popped up as one of the nearest places and we didn’t even look at the menu. We walked in and got a table without booking. When nosying around I started to get the feel for the place. We’ve been to Michelin star and fine dining places enough and as such expectations are raised as well as the menu prices. Staff were experienced and very helpful when catering for my food intolerances, the decor well appointed and rustic and the aromas from the kitchen were hunger inducing and we like the ethos around locally sourced food. We just wanted a bite to eat so only had a main meal. The Pheasant dish arrived as did the venison for my wife, I got food envy. A well presented plate but was underwhelmed by the portion size and didn’t leave me satisfied. Perhaps as part of a three course menu it would have been about right. The meat was well cooked but seemed to lack the game flavour I was expecting. The sauce was a little bitter and left a slight burnt aftertaste I wasn’t overly fond of. The accompaniments were well cooked. The venison and sauce were unctuous, the portion a great size but given the near 150% price difference quite honestly I would have expected more and my wife still managed it all. It would be a little harsh to give just 3 stars and I really struggle with this review. I tend to avoid hotel restaurants as the prices do tend to be inflated and we didn’t check the place out thoroughly, it also isn’t a Michelin star restaurant, although seems close to it and so shouldn’t be held to quite that high an account - very tricky. Would we eat there again? Maybe.
