Ted's Fish & Chips in Southampton

Oh my god the chips are proper chip shop chips and cooked to perfection so much better than chain takeaway chips. Ended up chatting to the Naz who was lovely and gave excellent customer service. So I give it 5* all round. Ill definitely be back. :-)

Still wish they'd allow more than one salad item with kebabs, burgers, etc, even if they charged for it. Everything else spot on.

Cheesy chips were ok however the cheese was melted onto the side of the box instead of on the chips.. I swear the portions have gotten smaller too.

Delighted wth the meal. at last I have found the perfect fish and chips. I won't be ordering from anywhere else now. 10 gold stars, Thank you

Ordered via deliveroo, food was stone cold, chips were pale, stale and had a few bad ones and the fish was not large at all.it was a regular size. Overpriced for what it is.

Was a bit hesitant when stepping into the shop because of its condition, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and satisfy my craving for chips. Unfortunately, it was a sheer disappointment. The chips were stale and tasted bitter. Additionally very overpriced. My advice: steer clear of this place.

I brought some saveloys and they tasted watered down and had no flavours

fish (cod) was nice and fresh, good size. the chicken kebab was little bit grizzly and you could only choose one bit of salad ie either lettuce or onion or tomato not all of those together

5pm just open I think - chips seem to have a weird after taste? Stomach achs 5 hours after eating them 👎

Food was missing one of the two orders of mozzarella sticks, which has been noted on Just Eat. Otherwise it was delivered on time and tasted good.

Always got good food here. The staff are super friendly and polite.

I’m not sure what has happened but food is now delivered Luke warm, the kebabs taste of so much salt, there drowned in so much sauce no salad unless you ask and you have to pay extra for coleslaw when it was included. Overall very disappointing.

Been here a few times, lovely food

I have always used teds but think this was my last time. My order was not what it use to be. Everything has shrunk in size. A large chips was just a handful. It was very expensive for not much food. This place has either changed hands or just gone down hill

Always love kebabs from Teds. Delivery time was good. The saveloy was soggy and tasteless. However, I won’t order for you again if I feel coerced into giving your driver a cash tip.

Soggy batter and flavourless. Also, the driver outright asked for a tip, which was uncomfortable. Wouldn't order again

Food usually good but not on this occasion. Fish not fresh chips and chicken pie not cooked fresh but had been sitting for a while especially the chips. Such a shame as usually fantastic

The delivery driver went to the wrong address on the other side of Southampton, so the food was cold. The delivery time was probably extended to cover his mistake. The fish was not very big and of poor quality. The order was mixed up but did contain what I had ordered. The rest went in the bin as I know they can't take back food once delivered. I write from a person who uses Teds frequently (every Friday usually)

It was actually okay the restaurant told us my a text message it would be a bit late,what was okay some restaurant don't say anything but this one was good enough to let us know

Be careful here at the moment, the short eldest guy decides to add extra on the prices. Went in 3weeks ago for a pie at £3.40 and he tried charging £3.70 so I walked out. Tonight I went in for medium chips (£2.60) and pie (£3.40) at £6 and he tried charging me more again. Be careful, look at what your ordering and calculate the price for yourself. If he comes up with a higher price, walk out.

Chips very dry with too many bits. Sausage was horrible. Could not eat. Won't be using this place again

Delivery time was good and on time. I normally order from here and they’re normally very good but today the chips were half cooked and the battered sausages were cold and tasteless. The chicken burgers were very nice though, no complaints about them. Hopefully just a bad day but has put me off ordering for a while.

Average at best. Never had batter sausage that was soggy and firm at the same time before now.

Disappointed with the food this time ! The cheese burger was just pure gristle ! Absolutely disgusting went in the bin ! Shame as they used to be good

I have ordered with Ted's on numerous occasions. Fish and chips. Large portions are always delivered. Delivered earlier than said time. Food tasty. Definately recommend.

Awesome food. Mushy peas were a little runny but still very yummy.

I have ordered from here before and it was great but this was awful! I pre ordered at 5 for a 7.30 delivery. They updated on just eat to say 7.40. Could of lived with that but that time came and went. Called the restaurant at 5 to 8 guy said the guy left at 7.40. Still not here at 8. Finally rocked up at 8.10. Guy basically threw it at me and it was all cold, at best room temp. Never again

First time i have had a donor kebab with no bread or sauce. Wouldn't reccomend

Nice food. Ordered mixed kebab lamb was lovely but the chicken not very much ( ordered extra large) the chicken had no taste very bland. Advise don't have coleslaw it does not go with a real kebab but is an individual choice.

You order a large chips and wxpext a large portion.. 4 times asked for large and get a portion that is worth not even a small. Very bad service

Not as nice as they use to be. The chips were hard and way too salty. The cod was way too oily I only ordered from Ted's Fish & Chips & Kebabs, because Andys chippy wasn't taking orders at the moment...

Delivered earlier then estimated, delicious food and arrived hot. Perfect as always!

Fish was really greasy and cos they put it in with the chips it meant it was all greasy and also stuck together. Fish size was very small as well.

Food was delicious. Fish served was so white and fresh. Just falling apart. Chips are proper chips. Not French fries or frozen. Fresh cut chips.

Hi I ordered Our meals tonight I asked for Large Donner Kabab and chips but there was no pitta bread in with the donner meat I’m sorry about complaining it’s just the order says Doner Kebab with chips

Portion size was tiny and food was freezing cold when It arrived ordered a large cod was no bigger than the size of a small coke bottle and as thin as a pancake, there was a handful of chips and the breaded mushrooms were solid. All in all I would never order from here again

Rude scowling guy behind counter told me I shouldn't have entered the shop because they were cleaning the floor (they weren't). The good news for him is that I won't ever be going back, and neither should you. Absolutely horrible place, avoid in all circumstances

Unfortunately the whole order was cold. Chips were overcooked and bitty. The fish was greasy and overcooked as well. Shame really was looking forward to it. Gave service a 6 for the free bit of cod added to the order to compensate I guess?

Chips were very hot and fresh cod was nice although I did find 2 small bones but not the restaurants fault things like that are bound to happen and even gave us some extras definitely recommend x

Awful fish and chips, avoid at all cost, missing items, cold food and massively overcharged. Rather eat dog food than this

One piece of fish was so overcooked and dry it was inedible. Should have taken it back but couldn’t be bothered to go out again. They were clearly very stressed and kept complaining about how busy they were. Well perhaps stop taking orders from deliveroo if you can’t cope with them!

Quite nice, wish it was a bit hotter as they were lukewarm unfortunately but the ingredients were good, would try again another day 😀

Not as good as it has been. Chicken wings were dry Haddock was small Chips were massive

Chips and curry sauce were lovely but sausages tasted and smelt funny. I called Ted's and the woman I spoke said she couldn't accept that and that sausages were fresh today even though every chip shop I've worked and visited use frozen sausages

Unusually late delivery. Took half an hour to be delivered so while still warm (not hot), the chips had been hanging around a long time, not at their best and donna meet defiantly the same.

Rude staff when calling, order took 1hr 45m to arrive and food quality was poor - cold, soggy and dry meat/fish. Drive was clueless and had clearly gotten lost.

When busy thing get VERY BAD , but it NOT busy things are normally OK so good luck people!

Have been using Teds for about two years but just recently the food seems to have taken a turn for the worst. The last couple of delivery’s have been luke warm and the last one the kebab meat was cold and burnt not enjoyable at all.

Poor quality chips, couldn’t eat half of them due to how hard they were!!! If you wish to order some quality food that you shall actually enjoy then i recommend you go to Jj’s Fish and chips just down the road.

Food was late but i understand things happen. However it was not worth the wait. Food was so bland and horrid. Fish batter was so soggy it was like wet bread wrapped around fish. Ordered cheesy chips and it had a sprinkle of cheese. Mozrella sticks were solid. It was just a very bad experience.

Took well over two hours for food to be delivered, and even once it was 'on its way' it was another 30 minutes before arriving. Unsurprisingly, by the time we got it the food was stone cold.

It took over 2 hours to get our food. And the food wasn't great either. First time ordering, also the last time.

Food turned up too early fish batter very rubbery and I had quite a few large bones in mine which put me off finishing

Service and price very good, however the chips and fish were just ok, the fish itself was quite grey and rubbery and the chips the same, kebab ok too, usually buy from the fish station but thought i give teds a go, 4/6 on food quality.

Restaurant left part of my order out.. paid £2.50 for nothing. And awkward to check order per just eat rules, as it was all wrapped up when I got there and put in a bag..

We never eat our food had to chuck away as it was stone cold buy time we got it I just put in bin discussing normally there amazing but last night was bad

Hi Shop sent the wrong order out and I spoke to them and they said they were refunding it back could you let me know when this happens

2nd time ordering from this place, and we were very pleased with our food, I would highly recommend them. Everything was absolutely perfect. Thank you Teds for a great service.

Love their food. Always hot and delicious. Never had a bad order from here. Battered sausages are alway crunchy instead of soggy as is the fish.

Very good food, warm and good quality

Food was a hour late, luke warm and of verifying quality. Also the order was incomplete (cheesy chips missing), unfortunately I would not order from this shop again.

I will not be ordering from here again if i could have posted pictures with this review i would. The food was practically cold when it arrived. The fish cakes were over cooked and burnt, and i cant even describe the so called batter on the sausages (it didnt even look like batter) also i ordere a 1.75l bottle of coke zero and ended up with 2 cans instead. So would i reccomend?? No absolutely not.

This has not even been delivered. Tried ringing Ted's several times to see what is happening but no answer. Not happy

We are very disappointed with our meal. We ordered a small haddock & an extra large haddock both with chips. The haddock that was supposed to be extra large was near enough the same size as the small one. Very generous with the chips but you need to sort out the size of your haddocks! Am not to sure whether I will be eating from your restaurant again unless something happens!

Will never use again. Delivered to incorrect address, shop hung up on the phone and tried to deliver to me food that left the shop some 40 minutes prior. Refused the food...beware if you order from them
