Best food in Portswood. Affordable, filling and tasty. Staff are friendly and hard working every time I visit. Never had an issue with quality or wait times. On top of this the restaurant is always clean. I always leave with a smile. 10/10.

my boyfriend and i always order from portswood piri piri as its cheap and the food is good. however today was a disaster. we ordered at 15:25 and got our food 2 HOURS LATER. we called after a hour to ask where it was as its usually very quick. we were told the food was ready and they were waiting for a delivery driver. we called 35 minutes later to lots of non-answered calls and eventually to be told it was on the way, a few minutes away. we called again 20 minutes later to be told the same thing. we explained we’d waited 2 hours, if it was correct on the first call our food had been ready nearly a hour and would be cold and after the second call we should have our food by now after we had waited another 20 minutes. the man on the phone was extremely rude and didn’t listen. we asked for our money back as waiting 2 hours and being lied to about where our food was and how long it would be was disgusting. he then went and talked to someone else in the background where i could hear them laughing. he kept saying ‘the food will be a few minutes’ ignoring all the points we made. the food eventually arrived (2 hours and 3 minutes after the order was placed) whilst on the phone to the restaurant. i told him the food had arrived but was cold and we still wanted a refund. the man kept saying ‘it will be with you soon’ despite me repeating it was there and he wasn’t listening. i explained i’d ask for a refund through my bank and write this review as the man was clearly useless and ignoring my request for my money back.

Rude service from the staff member. Found a human hair in my chicken. By the looks of it was from the staff member who was serving us, because he wasn't wearing any hair net. When I ask him for refund he was so annoyed and start screaming and shouting at me that they are not a charity service. Then he try to kick me from the shop or telling me to sit down quietly shhhhhing at me. Rude staff member. 😒

Customer service was horrible. From the moment we walked in the guy was with awful attitude. He mess up my order and try to over charge me. When I realised that he overcharged me I ask him for receipt. So I show him where he done wrong and he becomes more agitated. From that point onwards is not for explaining. I will not recommend. In general very rude staff.

I have always come here for food but thee last 2 times my orders have been bad this evening I ordered at half 4 at half 6 I still Didn't receive my order after ringing and asking I just got excuses asked for a refund after 2 and half hours and was declined no sorry no nothing never ordering from here again

I have an allergy to mayonnaise which makes me extremely sick, I ordered through the website and put on a note that there can not be any mayo on anything as I have an allergy ( which I thought would be enough) After my food had arrived I decided to leave my wrap until last because it is my favourite bit but when I took a bite out of it the was a big clump of mayonnaise in the top , a few minutes later ( after the only one bite) I was sick which I knew would happen which is why I specified it on the notes I then called the shop and said about it and I was told apparently the person making it did not read the note and I requested a refund. To which the man said I could only have the wrap refunded every though everything that I ate is no longer in my system and he said that I can’t prove anything. I think it unfair for the staff to not read the note especially with so many allergies that are around. And then tell a customer that they can not prove it. I used to enjoy this place but I won’t be having it again if that is the care they take

Got the ordered wrong, only realised once I got home. Called then up promises to re deliver the food, which of course was just to get me off the phone! Food was not great! Poor customer service and shocking phone manor.

Shocking customer service. Ordered on their ‘website’, order cancelled. Called the store and advised that this is their old website. Then why let people order on it! No offer to re take the order over the phone. Now having to wait 3-5 working days for my money back. You need to put a sign on this website to say it’s inactive!

I have to say the food in here is actually quite nice reasonably priced however the in-store prices and the menu seem to be the same but online is actually more expensive on a couple of the deals especially the specials. And that is before using Just Eat and Uber Eats and Deliveroo, which are way way more expensive .Food tasted nice and light nothing too heavy, flavourings are good and a nice range of them. Will go again. Used to prefer Pepe's however with their pricing increases, I've started using Portswood Piri Piri

I ordered my food waited a hour, the delivery man came gave my order it was wrong, I called 2 minutes later for them to tell me to eat what I was given even tho I’m allergic to the seasoning on the food so I physically can’t eat it I must eat that because they won’t re make my food as they have just closed however I called so fast that they was open when I first called to tell them it was wrong spoke to manager just rude no customer respect at all!

This place is fantastic! Portswood Piri piri👌 Friendly staff and probably the best cheese Chicken wraps Spicy, I could go on. Everything we’ve tried here has been amazing. And the chicken wings test was fantastic. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. The chairs are very clean and the staff is very friendly... I give them a full five stars....

I ordered at half past 8. Just eat promoted the delivery would be at 21:20. 50 minutes is pretty long anyway but we thought we would just stick it out as this Was the food we fancied. My delivery notification states 21:25 but the actual delivery arrived at 21:50 (I have a Ring Doorbell) and the car was parked outside the house with his hazards on and my Partner went out to check if it was our food. It was, the delivery driver said he couldn't find our house (that he was Parked outside of) What is the point in giving a phone number if they don't use it when they are lost. The wraps were nice but all the food was cold, especially the chips. The paper bags they came in were completely wet and disintegrated. Pretty disappointed in the overall experience, a shame really as the meat itself was nice (after it was reheated).

Simply the best piri piri in Southampton. It was the first in the city and still has the best marinades and is massively cheaper compared to the overpriced competition. I can't tell you how many times I've called another one on the same street only for them to pickup the call and hang up. Double chicken wrap actually fits my macros and if your being naughty throw in the sweet potato fries. Can't go wrong!

The order was well prepared and well packed, the food was cooked properly and the delivery was very quick even before the time and the piri piri specials are a must try.

Order food never arrived phoned the next day explained the situation and was told I won't get a refund coz I left a 1 star review please please be aware the shop just wants reviews and not prepare to deliver food. Totally shocking 😐

Ordered through uber eats and arrived cold. My bf liked his chicken wrap. I had the vegi paneer which was cubes of tasteless cheese and iceberg lettuce..no onions or tomatoes... Just soggy wrap.

Incorrect order received and when I called to rectify this, I was told it isn't their problem and they weren't going to do anything about it. Appalling service! Manners don't cost a thing but I'd rather spend my money elsewhere

Claim to be a Ben and Jerry's store for additional delivery service. Disgusting service, no remorse when failed to supply product. Apparently it's the delivery services fault, 0 for customer service.

PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. THE STAFF ARE RUDE AND THEIR FOOD IS NOT PREPARED PROPERLY. I've been ordering from this place for a while now and it was perfectly fine up until yesterday. The delivery had taken over 3 hours, so i did phone up and ask what was going on and they told me they'd send a driver. After that, the food came and the burger and chips were alright, but the ice cream was SPOILT. It was teeming aith bacteria and disgusting slime. If tehy cannot store regular ice cream in a freezer, that concerns me to think if other food has not been stored correctly. When i phone up and told them what had happened, I was made to feel like it was MY fault and after I asked for a refund, they hung up. I wasn't rude and I understand some people can be hard on people who work in restaurants and diners, so I made sure to be nice. I was still made to feel like it was my fault. Disgusting, they've lost a long term customer.

disgraceful customer service my daughter called asking if they do vegetarian options, when she couldn't understand the man she asked him to repeat it. he replied "oh my god" and then decided to hang up on her.i called back and when I asked why they hung up on her he said 'we did nothing wrong, if you want to leave a negative review then that's fine' no care for customer service and no care for they're falling reputation which is already only a 3 star and will continue to get lower if they are this rude. I ask how different that would have been if I hung up on someone that couldn't understand my accent!!!!!!!!!

Decent food with good value however a member of stuff is incredibly rude. After a few visits one particularly stuff member has always provided terrible customer service. Rude tone and abrupt verbal communication. Much room for improvement.

We ordered a burger and the lamb kebab wrap. The burger was the best burger I’ve ever had. We was expecting a lamb doner but it was a wrap but it was amazing, glad it was the wrap. Would highly recommend

Very unhelpful aggressive service worker. Asked him what he could recommend and the response was very aggressive...almost as though he was looking for an argument Cancelled what we ordered as I was not too confident with quality of food. Noted on the way back he was sitting near the front window eating his finger nails.. great hygiene! I would give it a miss.

Rubbish stone cold, place was rude when told food was cold avoid avoid avoid at all costs

Our food arrived after an hour cold. The chips were soggy and chewy and when we arranged out our meals to microwave them we realised the chicken was RAW. This could have been detrimental to my husbands condition had he eaten any of the food. We called the restaurant and they were unsympathetic and rude and told us to apply for a refund on the app. It was like they didn’t believe us. The whole meal had to be thrown away and I will tell everybody not to go near this restaurant.

OK order here regularly but noticed the RICE IS FROM MICROWAVE POUCH really cheap way to sell rice squeeze bag and microwave uncle Ben's style.. Poor considering I can get that from Co op.. The 2 stars is solely for the corn on the cob which is amazing all chared and with peri peri dusting makes it really good.. Prices have gone up and £5 delivery is a joke.

Went in here Sunday not expecting much but was just starving and not much else open. I was pleasantly surprised! Got a mixed platter for £19.99 which was plenty for three people, side portions were huge and the chicken itself was really quite good. The medium spicy sauce is just right IMO and tastes like proper piri piri I had in Portugal. Very good overall for a light lunch.

Long standing customer of this Temperamental restaurant, the Food is great but other times it’s over cooked and soggy, and not up to standard. I would recommend ordering a meal via a Third-party deliver company as The restaurant is absolutely terrible with handling any bad Criticism and will be blunt and rude, even to someone who has been ordering for way over three years. The final Chapter. The straw that broke the Camels back, we ordered a Meal and both Chicken wraps wear Raw. It was absolutely disgusting. Photos wear taken but no apology from the Restaurant.

I would only give 4 stars because guys, the toilet wasn’t clean. Hand washing liquid was finished. Toilet role was finished and the plastic rim wasn’t a good thing to see before I started my meal which was good, I’d be honest, portion size was satisfying and prices were good and affordable. Seating arrangement was also modern but again, fix this one thing which put people off.

We have been ordering from here since if was roosters and after almost a year of having good food tonight I was utterly shocked by the way the owner disrespected me over the incorrect order they sent me! I phoned up to ask to send my correct order and they were soo unhelpful, rude and shouted at me!!!! They have lost loyal customers tonight I will never order from them again!!!!

First the delivery guy was a bit late because he couldn’t come down the alleyway I live in with his car when he could’ve just walked but oh well. The hot wings are not as good as Nando’s but they come in larger quantities and are cheaper per wing. The saving grace is the extreme wings. These things are EXTREMELY spicy and I almost died and afterwards I felt very ill but they taste AMAZING if you are going DEFINITELY get the extreme wings

Ordered from Just Eat. I got a call from the staff saying I couldn't get the Satays in my platter because the deal was for collection only, not delivery, even though it's written on the delivery page for Just Eat. (The Deliveroo app has the same deal for the same price including the Satays for delivery...) The guy on the phone was adamant it wasn't part of the deal even though it's written right there... The employee then hung up on me and cancelled the order.
