We lounged here for hours till check-in and service throughout was effecient, attentive (Sujeewa and Dwayne) without making us feel awkward for leisurely lunching on a sandwich dish and a lunch bowl (and some drinks). Food was decent!

Fantastic experience at Tea 5 for my sister in laws surprise birthday afternoon tea before a flight. I booked online and Alessandro, the manager, emailed me immediately to find out exactly what we we would like for our celebration. I booked the afternoon tea including champagne and it was perfect! We arrived early to set up with balloons and table decorations and a very helpful waiter (sorry don’t recall name!) was setting up the table beautifully with a gorgeous crisp white tablecloth and had reserved the best table in the restaurant for us. The staff were very accommodating considering we wanted to hide behind a huge plant pot and jump out when she arrived 🤣.. which we did, much to other guests amusement! Overall very friendly, attentive and accommodating staff. Nothing was too much trouble. A memorable experience for us all. I would definitely recommend for a lunch/drink/tea etc before a trip!

Ate there twice for lunch while waiting to check in, place is nicely casual, super conducive to lounging, and service all around had been pleasant and personable (Gilroy was great!). The food was decently priced (for the place, ie airport + hotel), and overall delicious. My mother loved that they had options beyond tea service (she loved their salmon teriyaki bowl, I had pizza which had a nice crust), and the afternoon tea was nice to share. Just really a comfortable place to spend hours in.

Had a great experience visiting Tea 5 for Afternoon Tea with my family. It wasn't actually on the menu at the time so we contacted the manager via email who informed us that the menu was being updated at the time and that the afternoon was available. Booked a time slot was easy and had prompt responses from the café. We ended up arriving 30mins early due to an (unusually) prompt flight and were pleasantly surprised to see our table was all setup and ready to receive us. The staff promptly took our drinks orders and kindly informed us that they would speed-up the arrival of our food following our early arrival. The afternoon tea itself was one of the most enjoyable we've had, there was a nice selection of sandwiches and the scones were fresh. The stand-out part for me was the desserts - time was clearly put into the presentation of each item, they were both beautiful and delicious. As we visited between menu updates, the only small concern we had was that we weren't 100% sure what we were going to get! The staff did confirm there were no dietary requirements and we were given the option to order more of any item that we enjoyed (of which there were many!) Overall it was a fantastic experience that was very much appreciated, especially as our time at Heathrow was so limited. We would love to go again and would even consider a special trip to the airport just to have another opportunity to enjoy such a delicious meal.

We had a lovely afternoon at the Sofitel London Heathrow. Although the hotel was surprised to see us presenting with an afternoon tea voucher, Clive was able to prepare everything so we could still enjoy a pleasurable afternoon experience with champagne, sandwiches, warm scones and plenty of cake. Perfect place to meet up with our friends who had a long layover back to NYC. We were 7, including 3 children (ages 11 and 14). Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was great. They had a good selection of food including paninis as well as afternoon tea (yes we did a wide selection). Very comfortable and clean seating. Meryl and the other staff did not rush us and were very attentive yet not intrusive. Easy location for any of the terminals (right inside the Sofitel hotel). We found easy parking as well. Totally recommend.

I dined here for lunch with a family member in May 2019 during a a car during, bringing a new car from London to southern Ireland, via the Rosslare ferry. We actually stayed at the Sofitel Heathrow the night before (which I have reviewed before here on TripAdvisor, an excellent hotel as always). Having collected the new car at a garage near Chiswick Park, we decided to come back to the hotel for lunch, before resuming our driving journey to Fishguard Harbour in Wales to the ferry. This was an excellent option because we were heading out of London on the M4 past Heathrow anyway. We took the Heathrow Terminal 5 exit off the M4 onto the M25, going off of that at Heathrow. We were able to park the car in the underground car park of the hotel, and take the lift up the ground lobby. The parking was inexpensive. We had no reservation, we just walked in. Having stayed in this hotel, and eaten in the Vivre restaurant several times, this was my first time in Tea 5, which is used to serve afternoon tea, as well as light lunches. We simply walked in and took a seat. Food: Very simple, we both had a Chicken Club Sandwich, and a side of french fries. These were served toasted, and presented simply but nicely. They were fresh, and absolutely delicious - very appetizing and very good chicken. The fries were excellent, very addictive actually. Given we were about to go on a 5+ hour drive, we didn't have anything else so we would not need to be stopping for a toilet. I should point out that the fries were a separate side-order, and did not come with the club sandwiches themselves, as you get in different places. There was a good menu of other options there though as well. They also have a counter of cakes etc that you can buy to take away with you. Pictures of the food are attached to this review. Service: The service was great, friendly staff, and all very quick. When we sat down, we had actually sat at a table that had been laid out for afternoon tea, and we were asked to move to another table close by of our choosing, which was no problem. We had sat at that table because there were menus on it (which we discovered after we sat were afternoon tea menus only). The other tables were for lunch, but they didn't have menus on them, so the lunch menus needed to be brought to us. Location: Tea 5 is located on the ground floor of the Sofitel. If facing the hotel reception desk from the main entrance, it's to the right, past the shop, and into the right again. Sofitel is directly attached to the Heathrow Terminal 5 arrivals level via a walkway and lifts through one of the car parks. Overall: An excellent lunch option with great food, service, and a lovely luxury ambiance, which we much preferred to stopping in some pub or service station on our long drive from London to Fishguard - easy to get to from the M4. A great option for lunch for anyone laying over at Heathrow terminal 5 for lunch or afternoon tea as well. Will be looking forward to my next opportunity to dine there and try more of the menu as well.

We had a four-hour layover in Heathrow and this was the closest place for proper afternoon tea. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! We have been to proper afternoon tea (some people call it high tea) at many places around the world, and this was definitely one of the best. And very reasonably priced! The sandwiches alone were amazing -- not the usual tiny tasteless cucumber sandwiches, but several true delicious hearty sandwiches. But then there were also two small scones for each person with clotted cream, and several huge portions desserts. All for two people. The tables in the tea salon were spaced nicely very far apart, with some tables-and-comfortable chairs, and many couches with coffee tables. Very clean and modern, but yet cozy and comfortable. What was most amazing of all was the impeccable and attentive service! Our server, Sylvia, was the perfect proper professional, and really made this tea a truly special event.

I even got a free glass of Prosecco for my birthday!! The guys were so helpful and even helped pick something light to eat. We then went back to the Spa to relax and even enjoy a massage at 3pm. We'd booked an afternoon tea for 4.30pm and when we arrived back, we were served by Nilanga , the restaurant manager, himself through the whole experience. He even had extra sandwiches' put in for us! (definitely enjoyed those) and kept checking to see if we were enjoying ourselves. As for 5 star service, this was most positively above and beyond what we expected, nothing was too much trouble. Nilanga also recommended the best times and dates to book overnight stays in the future and where in the hotel to eat. All in all, a most enjoyable and memorable experience thanks to Nilanga and his team. You are a asset to the Sofitel Hotel and we look forward to seeing you again soon. P.S. If they were rock cakes then were still inedible . However after mentioning it to the staff they apologised and said they were made earlier ( Do BA make from scratch in the air ) and presented me with two new freshly microwaved scones and glass of champagne . Everything about this hotel is very, very good. Especially as it is an airport hotel and these are normally fairly run down and grubby and the owners treat them as cash cows. The Sofitel at Heathrow is different. It's a great place to stay if you have an early morning or late night departure. It has a number of different food outlets from fine dining to more of a cafe feel Tea 5 is cafe style venue but high end cafe. We visited for a meeting between a small group who were flying to different places. We found space to talk in peace, had coffee and tea on hand as required, we were not bugged by the staff to top up drinks or buy food at any time. In the end we did go for a snack and had the Croq Monsieur. At £11.50 it is expensive but it was a good a size had a nice salad with it and of course you are paying for very nice surroundings and convenience of walking to Terminal 5 at Heathrow. After many visits have yet to really find any major faults with Sofitel Heathrow or any of it's food outlets.

A working lunch with a colleague who has flown in from Madrid sees us both ordering lunch, with Mezze to share, followed by Aberdeen Angus burgers. The Mezze were fine, if nothing special. Mostly excellent service is perplexingly catapulted into a parallel universe by a discussion on how our burgers might be cooked. The advice was to have them 'medium-well or well'. Our request for medium-rare was discouraged on the grounds that they 'had received complaints from customers who had become unwell' as a result of eating burgers cooked this way. My challenge that this would suggest poor kitchen hygiene more than anything else was not understood, even though our rather bewildered waiter stuck to his guns and said they would happily cook steaks this way, if not burgers. He then changed his mind and agreed, when I suggested that it would be a shame to over-cook good beef and we would take the risk. He remained unable to make the link between illness and hygiene, simply restating the more general undesirability of the medium-rare approach. Hungry and bored with trying to explain, we gave up and ordered. Burgers, medium-rare, were excellent, as were the accompanying fries. It's a pity the entire ground floor has to smell of their frying though, as do my clothes even now late into the evening.

I was a guest at the Sofitel T5 and this is the second time I have taken afternoon tea at Tea 5. I like the price, choice, quality and service and it started my holiday on a high note. I'm already planning my next visit.

Tea 5 offers lunch as well as tea and traditional English tea. I had the latter with with my Mum, attended by the very professional Gulshan. The food was tasty and fresh - we actually shared 1 tea as it is a huge portion for one person, especially when you are after a quick savoury/sweet bite. The selection of teas is pleasantly large and the jasmine green tea was full of flavour. Very glad we stopped. The tea room is spacious with sofas around low tables and more traditional tables, with a clientele that ranges from business folks to Heathrow travellers.

We were meeting a friend who had a long layover at Heathrow and were struggling to find a good place to eat this side of security. Fortunately we found the Tea 5 Cafe in the Sofitel at Heathrow Terminal 5. The food was good and the price quite reasonable. The service was also excellent and the atmosphere relaxed. We were very grateful for this oasis within walking distance of Terminal 5.

Had an excellent time with my wife and two kids. Afternoon tea scones, cakes, sandwiches were all excellent. Darjeeling and Assam were both superb. Service was brilliant. Nilanga, in particular, was attentive, helpful, efficient and very accommodating. Would definitely come back if it wasn't for the confusion over the car park charges. My parking ticket was not discounted correctly at the front desk so I had to pay the full £9 for 1.5 hour stay.

Nalinga, Valentina and the team once again have done an amazing job, on my many visits to tea 5 have they never failed to impress with there attentive and superior service, and treating us like we were the only ones in the cafe. Nalingas knowledge and quick service are second to none compared to some of the central london hotel chains. Now we just need tea 5 to register some more promotional Groupon vouchers! Excellent experience at the tea 5 and would highly recommend it!

Me and my sister purchased a Groupon afternoon tea today for the Tea 5 cafe in the Sofitel London Heathrow airport Terminal 5 and Nilanga and his team did not fail to impress! Having sampled many afternoon tea experiences(The Langham/ The Ritz/ The Wolseley/ Harvey Nichols) and various through out London and greater London, Nilanga, Roky and the team have absolutely got it right, the perfect mix of amazing service, excellent quality and friendly and prompt response to requests. They were helpful and accommodating also letting us choose our own desserts from a amazing selection from luxury Bakewell tarts to Gooey chocolate mud pie (2 per person and they were full size not small cakes you get with even a posh afternoon tea) also hot plain and raisin scones (2 each) with clotted cream and excellent strawberry preserve. An immense selection of tea and served on the best Wegdewood china. They also served delicious sandwiches and were open to making substitutions and meeting any religious or dietary requests which was a plus!. All in all one of the highest rated afternoon tea experiences brought to life by the quality and Superior service of Nilanga, Roky and the Tea5 Cafe team.

Was very happy to visit the Tea 5 Cafe in the Sofitel hotel. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable and I was overwhelmed with this. I can't remember the gentlemans name who waited on us but he was absolutely brilliant and couldn't do enough. I'm not a tea drinker but to see my partner and her family feel so comfortable in the cafe was exactly the way I wanted and lovely. A pleasure to go there and I will recommend ***** 5 stars

Last Saturday, my friends and I treated ourselves to an afternoon tea at the Sofitel London Heathrow. From the moment we arrived we were looked after very well. Firstly, the hotel is very modern and ultra clean. The service was excellent, we were served by a young charming man called Nilianga who made our stay very special. He helped us with the choice of cakes ( I recommend the small apple tart and the lemon cake), He was extremely patient and discreet.Well it is certainly a lovely place to spend and afternoon. Thanks again to Nilianga and the chef.

My hubby got a Groupon deal and treated me to Afternoon Tea!The Tea 5 cafe is located within Sofitel Heathrow T5 and quiet easy to find. The hotel has a very nice atmosphere so it was a great first impression. We were served by a delightful lady called Valentina, the service was exceptional, they were expecting us and very helpful in terms of making us aware of options available. You get a menu and have a choice of teas along with your choice of afternoon teas, I went for the Moroccan mint but I'm sure whichever tea you choose it will be yummo. So once you choose your tea, you select 2 desserts each, this was a really nice touch as you choose what YOU want to eat, not what they have decided for you and they are good size desserts. I got the Oreo cheesecake and blueberry crumble And it was pretty good. The sandwiches were OK, I really liked the Coronation chicken and the salmon was a bit strong but that's just my personal opinion of smoked salmon.I think it was a lovely way to spend an hour in the afternoon, if you drive your own car, take the receipt and show the hotel reception and you will get 25% discount off your parking.I wanted to thank Valentina for making us feel so welcome and being so attentive we will definitely be back again soon, Groupon still have this deal available so I would highly recommend others to book this.

If you're not up to taking the tube into the city. If you're just needing to kill some time before heading over to the spa. If you just want to have tea in the UK, because it's the British thing to do! For all those reasons and no reason at all, take a moment and have tea at this lovely cafe. The food is delicious, the service is gracious, and it's a bit more low-key than what you'll experience at Harrods.

It was quiet and a much welcome lunch after a long flight. We were able to check into our room even though we arrived at 11:00 o'clock so a nice relaxing lunch that was quickly served was needed. We ordered tea and I loved have several cups of delicious tea.

This is anything but airport food.We got stuck in London and used the Sofitel Hotel to wait for a rebooked flight. The following day we wanders into the Tea 5 Café for a brunch before re-boarding. The lunch meals were awesome. The menu was thoughtful and provided a wide variety of options. We went for the sandwich dishes and were more than pleased with the presentation, flavor, quality and quantity of the food provided. During our meal we were visited by the manager and wit staff to insure that our meal experience was as expected. The breads and pastries were all fresh (baked onsite I was told) and tasted delicious. We took an order with us for the flight it was so good. The seating offered lots of space and was setup for small groups at tables (including with children) or larger groups in a lounge setting. My only recommendation is to use a more tender cut of beef in the Japanese beef sandwich - but the flavor was fantastic (just hard to cut with my fork)

A nice proper afternoon tea. Sandwiches were tasty and scones were wonderful. Was a bit disappointed at the tea menu, after taking tea at the Savoy a couple of weeks earlier it seemed skimpy--although it was also only half the cost! The price was fairly reasonable considering the location.

We visited Tea 5 while staying at the Sofitel. We didn't want a full-blown afternoon tea as we were eating later in the evening. We ordered two pots of tea from a very good range, two Victoria sponges and two glasses of champagne. All were very nicely presented and delicious too. The surroundings are very pleasant indeed. Not the cheapest light afternoon tea, but don't mind paying that bit extra for this level of service and quality of food and drink. Will definitely return if staying at the Sofitel again.

We went to the cafe for a breakfast meeting. Usually, the continental breakfast includes toast, pastries , juice and tea or coffee and no charge to refill the tea pot with hot water. Well, they've decided to change the menu. Now, for the same price , (£8.50) they only give you tea and toast and charge (£7.50)for refilling the teapot with hot water. Consequently, 2 light breakfasts, 2 refills of hot water and 2 coffees cost us £50!!! Parking another £13 so total over £60. Absolutely not worth it....and to top it all, the staff are rude and aggressive. .... Avoid if at all possible.

Had lunch here whilst staying at the Sofitel for one night in late October. Ate here with family who were equally as impressed; food, service and cleanliness were all excellent, and some great light food options were on offer in case you wanted something small prior to an evening meal. Shall definitely visit for lunch upon return and recommend it highly.
