My friend and I have had a sausage roll from Taylor’s every Friday morning this academic year. It is the highlight of my week and my all-time favourite breakfast! The sausage rolls are decent sized, piping hot, and only £2.10. so worth a visit for them!! the sandwiches are also good. my only slight complaint if any would be that the syrups for coffee are only sugarfree, and I’d like real sugar ones.

The food was fine but I found similar for cheaper after I ate here (unfortunately for me.) No complaints about the service.

fantastic choices of sandwich fillings and lovely food items. Will return when next in the city and staff were competent.

Avoid — the manager here is extremely rude and doesn’t abide by requirements to use separate utensils when serving vegetable and meat products.

I was greeted by 'we close at five o'clock'. As it was barely half past four this was a bit unwelcoming and made me wonder how slow the service was! £7.50 for a cheese-veg flatbread and bottle of elderflower wasn't bad but the flatbread was just slammed down on the counter after heating. I found a wooden fork which fell apart. Nice enough food but service leaves something to be desired.

If you don’t mind: (a) cross contamination of meats and vegetables (b) the same rag being used to wipe hands, surfaces and utensils (c) Cooked food rejected by you to be sold to other customers (d) staff abusing their customers, especially women and children (note: unfit bloke with glasses and black hair) then go for it.

Popped in here on Saturday as we were staying at a rented house opposite. Looked charming from the outside. The girl that served us though as so sullen, miserable and rude that it made us feel uncomfortable and afraid to ask for anything else in case we got snapped at / told off again for trying to order. Needless to say put us entirely off returning another day. Went to Gail’s on Sunday where the staff were delightful. I thought we got a bad day but looking at other reviews on her it’s clearly a then they are going for.

We often used to pass by the two Taylor's establishments in St. Giles and loved the look of their food in the windows but never went in because it always seemed so crowded. However, we have recently paid two visits and managed to find a small table at the back. (This is not the "sit down" cafe as such) We had delicious samosas and sandwiches, which can be made fresh to order. It is busy, lots of people, of all ages pop in to grab food, coffee on the go. But there is limited seating and we have been lucky twice! The staff are very friendly and also very helpful, my husband is 83 and uses a walking stick and the Manager brought our food and drink to us himself. The food was very tasty and very reasonably priced compared to the big coffee chains! We certainly would go there again when visting Oxford. They also do catering which we are sure is up to a good standard.

We popped in here for hot drinks before attending a meeting in the city. My husband enjoyed the coffee and I had a breakfast tea. The place was very busy and we were lucky to find a space at the big table, all the tables for two and four were occupied. The gentleman serving was friendly enough, but rushed off his feet. There isn't much atmosphere here and it's not a place to linger - this is a place to order, pay, drink up and go.

Wide selection of quality sandwiches and some sweets. Very nice staff eager to serve and please. Veggie samosa was just okay though; recommend sandwich or salad instead.

Taylors has has shops in Oxford for 20 years, the ST. Giles and Gloucester Green stores were some of the first and now there are more, all serving up sandwiches, coffee and cold drinks with some sweet bites. Its simple but delicious fair. Super hint: know what you want before you go in, and tell them what you want, that way you get less questions and life is easier for all...Extra super hint: go eat elsewhere as it can get hot inside... by the river is perfect and not so crowded...the botanical gardens are recommended.

Great selection especially the Cuban, great staff Suki has a ready smile and great customer service, Andrew has my Cuban made and it a real treat. Thank you all, if only other businesses realised that actually customer service is key to customer loyalty! Thank you

Firstly I would like to say that I use to go to Taylors every day, it was a all time favourite but I have been away, clearly things change. Went in at 12 noon it was empty, I wanted something warm as it was cold outside and I had to catch a bus to a lecture. ALL the pies, rolls and samosas, of which very few, were meat. I asked a member of staff who if they had anything vegetarian ... she said I needed to wait for the other girl to make a coffee first, as she was new. I waited for 5 minutes or more, then the other girl said YES they do, but they were kept in the fridge they don't have the vegetarian options out ? After much conversation (she was now making another coffee) said they could heat up a samosa. The girl serving me ( who didn't speak much English ) put the samosa into sandwich grill ..... the price was one pound seventy BUT she rang up two pounds and four cents. I thought she had made a mistake so questioned ..... the girl making coffee LOUDLY said it's MORE BECAUSE YOU WANTED IT HEATED AND THEN YOU MIGHT WANT TO EAT IT INSDIE (which I didn't) ......SO THE PRICE IS WHAT WE SAID .... Shocked I paid ..... will never ever return and will never recommend this place to anyone. What happened to Taylors ???? sad very sad https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowUserReviews-g186361-d15557262-r671220871-Taylors_St_Giles-Oxford_Oxfordshire_England.html#

Although their baguettes are arguably the best in Oxford their drinks are another question. My lattes are normally go a good quality, however is one petite Polish lady with short blonde hair and not only is her attitude terrible but her coffees are SO BAD. I would ask for a caramel latte, extra hot, and I get no caramel syrup and a cold latte, it also tastes bad. I have no idea what she does that is so different to everyone else, but her lattes are so bad that I have to go next door and ask for a replacement. When I see her working, I don't go in but rather go down the road to Gails. Quite sad.

Good mocha, good carrot and cumin soup, good service. Soup wasn't that hot but kitchen heated it to my liking using a saucepan and not a microwave...well done! Helpful staff and friendly.

Fantastic selection of sandwiches and baguettes, both pre made and made to order along with a wide range of paninis. Andrew and the team take time to get to know the customers and are always friendly and efficient, keeping the queue moving even during the busy lunch time rush. They've done some lunch catering for important client meetings and we've had compliments about the food they've prepared. Overall a fantastic place and can't recommend highly enough.

I've been going to this shop intermittently for the past few years in the vain hope of it improving. The staff are consistently unfriendly and rude and will always give you the smallest portion possible when ordering something from there. One almost experiences anxiety over how little food they are about to give you which is unreasonable given the high prices. Will not be going again as better options are nearby.

Firstly, there was a man in the front of me waiting for his order, but he left as he was waiting way too long and other people who was after him get they order before him. While the manager or supervisor, just was there watching what is going on and playing with his phone insted to help the staff. And I order chicken wrap with BBQ sauce and i didn't get any sauce at all. It was dry and tasteless. So disappointed.

Toilets are appalling, all out of order except disabled. Filthy dirty. No cafe anymore so I expect they think people will just put up with it. Don’t think I will shop in there again!
