Waited 20mins after ordering only to see 2 friends to get food beforehand, maybe my white face wasn't wanted, it smelled nice but I will never go again even though I went many times before the new owner, but didn't feel welcome

I had to wait almost 2 hours to get my order on Deliveroo. When I tried to contact the restaurant, nobody answered the phone.

A rarity for Jamaican service very professional and courteous. Curry goat was excellent just the right amount of seasoning. I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted authentic traditional Jamaican food. It reminded me of grandma’s cooking

They say Jamican food is soul food. Not here over priced and poor quality. Very disappointed.. Need to improve on ther customer service. Unpleasant experience

I got the Catfish stew with fried rice and plantain. Food was delicious, spicy and well seasoned, really enjoyed it. Wait time was pretty long - they said it would be 20 mins but ended up being more like an hour. They gave me a bottle of water which I didn't ask for and then charged me for it - I was a bit miffed by that. And overcharged me on top but when I questioned apologised, so I'll assume it was an honest mistake. Overall I really enjoyed it!

They took my money and didn't even delivered the food!!!! They don't ever answer the phone, they just steal peoples money!!!

The food is excellent here. The service is very good and nothing was too much bother. You can also pay by card at no extra cost. There is also a license bar available. I highly recommend this cook shop

I hope all potential customers see all of the poor reviews of this restaurant and avoid as they honestly need to be reported and shut down. The service is frighteningly shocking and intimidation to females is used by staff if you complain about the ridiculous wait times, making up of prices on the spot and rip off portion sizes. Worst Caribbean take away in Oxford, do not waste your money or support a business with such awful practices.

Very disturbing and upsetting experience at this restaurant. Will never use again and have informed as many friends and acquainteces not to use this place. extremely rude, made up prices on collection, food not ready after 40 minutes. Portion was unbelievable small. Made a complaint at the time and was almost ganged up on by part owner and another customer. The way they spoke to me would not have happened in I were a man. Not even deserving of a 1 star.

I’ve ordered from here twice before today. I ordered today and it says on the website for OX4 area it’s £1 delivery fee and £15 minimum order but he tried charging me £3 delivery fee. I didn’t actually get to taste the food this time because he said it would be 45 minutes but it got to nearly 2 hours waiting for it and I called up and cancelled.

This place is like a comedic caricature of the very worst of Caribbean restaurants. My experience was like a scene from The Real McCoy. The service was extremely rude, abrasive, unfriendly and astonishingly unprofessional. The food was mediocre and the portions were extremely small. The fact that the food failed to even half fill the small plastic container, and was very expensive, only added insult to injury. Its a pity that when trying to support an independent , small business, you end up being treated in such a disrespectful manner. I'm afraid this is the kind of establishment that gives Caribbean restaurants and take aways a bad name. Very disappointed. I cannot stress enough. Avoid this place.

Rang up to place an order and collect it, the man was very rude. Said they don’t take orders Over the phone anymore to collect, And then said you did not come collect it last time. Which was wrong we collected it and ever had several deliveries from them. He then tried telling me the price for three things which was triple what it should of been, and I didn’t even finish my order. So I asked to speak to the women. And then he literally left the phone on side and didn’t come back to the phone and then did not answer my phone call at all after that. They are always very rude and it always take like twenty minutes to order anything, food is always so nice which is a shame.

Collected some delicious takeaway here! Seasoned and coconut rice were nice, chickpea curry was strongly spiced and even though it was not my favourite (a bit too much cardamom for me), it was delicious! The beef were good tender pieces done to perfection! 🙂 Glad they didn't use bad pieces of meat or vegetable drowned in salt like some other takeaways do. Will come again!

My first time buying from this restaurant and in my honest opinion, it is the WORST "Jamaican" restaurant I have ever bought food from. I would NEVER go back there!! Waited over 1hr for the food to share, staff informed you after making payment that a particular meat that was ordered was just going to be cooked which was burnt and everything else that was ordered tasted horrible we had to literally throw them away smh waste of money.

Hubby and I had our first takeaway from here tonight - it won’t be the last! Absolutely fantastic, delicious, hot and spicy food, had our tastebuds dancing! Highly recommended! Couldn’t add photos as we ate everything 😁

The food we ordered tonight was jerk chicken, rice and plantain. It was disgusting and I'm being nice ! You can tell the chicken was old and probably stored and reheated . When you paid good money all you expect is fresh good food. I mean what's the point in being a takeaway if you xant make decent food. Thank you for ruining my evening. And also to add food that we were meant to wait 70 minutes for we at least expected food that was edible.

Tonight I ordered goat curry rice and pea, Ackee and salt fish and ground food, chicken stew rice and pea and dumplings. The food was amazing. This is the first time I had tried all of these dishes and I cant wait to try more from the menu. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will be visiting the restaurant in the near future.

We just finished eating and I had to review it straight away. Four people are very happy. Everything was cooked to perfection, we will see you again very soon. Banging!

Food amazing, patties, jerk pork, goat curry ... authentic Jamaican. Arrived on time and hot. Don't forget to order potato salad and dumplings. Will definitely order again and recommend.

I will unfortunately have to re-iterate Mr. Martin Cush's review from about a month ago because the exact same thing happened to me today. I do not reccommend this restaurant at all. The portions were small, The macaroni and cheese was the worst I had in my life, the salt fish fritters were soggy and tasteless...and the food took two hours to arrive! I have no idea how you have 4 stars on your google page... you do not deserve even half a star....total waste of time and money.

Amazing food I have never tried curried goat before It’s was lovley and tender. The order came a bit later as it was very busy, the young guy that delivered to me was nice polite and very apologetic great service great food the prawns were nice and big and the flavours are to die for well worth a visit !

Made an order on Deliveroo and TWO and A HALF Hours later the food has not arrived. Tried calling the restaurant and the phones were always busy. The service they offer is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not someone to leave negative reviews, in fact this is a first. You simply need to do better.

Absolutely amazing food as always! Don’t let the negative reviews put you off, we have been ordering from here every week for the past two months- food always lovely!! Sometimes the wait is a little long for delivery, but it is worth it!

Salt fish and ackee was swimming in oil. No flavour and only one piece of salt fish. Hard food had a boiled banana not plantain. Very disappointed.

Had my first takeaway from this place last night and will definitely return. It was super tasty and the people were super friendly. I had jerk pork which was delicious and so were the vegetables and the oxtail. Curious about 'Festival' which is apparently some dumpling, so have to try that next time!

The delicious food and generous portions sizes have kept me ordering again and again! There is something about the coleslaw that is simply divine! Lovey staff memeber as well, always polite on the phone! I do wish delivery was a bit quicker...but it’s always worth the wait!

Ordered takeaway today. Everything is so beautifully made, please order the fried chicken, dumplings and coleslaw. Ackee and callaloo awesome. Brown stew chicken is so flavourful. Best restaurant in Oxford.

Place is an absolute dump, staff cant even remember simple orders. Don't bother reading prices cos they will charge whatever anyway and getting change, good luck with that! Theres no-way the food is fresh daily and after all that they got the nerve to be rude to people. Sooner they close down the better

I used to order from these all the time even though the shop is run down and dirty the food was always fresh. They can be quiet rude on the phone no please or thanks you and when you order they don't know prices let alone give you change and forget some of your order and again no sorry or anything . I ordered my favourite last night the fried chicken and OMG it was so old and tuff ended up in the bin such a waste of money and time when I cook better than that my self .I will advise to let these guys go out of business and don't order from them it's a joke I don't see how they even have a shop

Ordered food over 1h40mins a go. Food still not arrived. Have called twice and been told both times food will be 15mins and is out for delivery. This was 45mins ago. Disappointed

Food was amazing. Can't lie me and my partner both enjoyed it very much. I'm a bad critic when it comes to careibbean food. But the brown stew fish was just crazy. And the value for money was well worth it too. Definitely got my custom.

Honest reviews are really helpful especially for first timers so here we are.. been Sceptical lately of ordering take away after eating 'oven cooked' pretending to be 'jerk chicken' from various places and plus am quite a critic as I am also a very good chef (if i say so myself ;)..but finally Jerk chicken that is authentic! phoned up to order, lady was pleasant and very accommodating, didn't mind swopping my rice to rice and peas at no extra charge. food delivered in about 40 minutes. Now, the portions are really generous, very impressive visuals too. Temp is ok if you don't like pipping hot food. But i microwaved mine as I like tongue burning hot. The flavours are absolutely amazing, I enjoyed every little bit. I also ordered oxtail and rice as had to make the minimum delivery charge of £15. Will let you know how that was when I get to it. Had to give a star because google doesn't allow rate zero. Total disaster, food safety inspectors need to have a close look. I would not recommend anybody to eat from there. Had to throw away the food, wasted money and time. :((
