Brilliant little sandwich shop, have been loads, HOWEVER, I hope you review your reviews! Spreading out a chicken filling that costs £6 on a baguette using a knife like the meat is butter is ridiculous. If I pay £6 for sandwich filling I expect a scoop? And not a flat layer of it. Taste is excellent, but Taylor’s, you would have a much better return of customers if you gave their moneys worth!!

I was going to large supermarket chain to get some lunch, when I saw a sign that said "support your local business" Of course, it's going to be a bit more expensive. But the service was excellent, food was very good. So much so I've been back a second time within a week, although the service was not as impressive. The price is what you would expect to pay, will be going there again soon.

Covid seems to have hit this place hard - no shelves selling other deli products, just a fridge with cans of drink at £1.50 and a few chocolate snacks at the till. My panini was fine but the service was begrudging and the sandwich counter looked very bare. A shame.

I purchased a brie and sundried tomato flatbread sandwich today, there were 2 of the skinniest pieces of brie inside, a few sundried tomatoes, and loads of black olives that I had to take out as they were unpleasant, thus leaving very little else. I had to pay £4.80 for this. Never again!

It’s probably the least salubrious of the Taylors locations in and around Oxford based in some sh!tty 1950 strip mall in a cr&ppy part of Botley near the ring road where they’re building all the new student accommodation. But the coffee’s excellent, you can park outside, the staff are helpful and there are plenty of great cakes and sausage rolls etc to be had. Great if you’re on the go. Frequent the other Oxford Taylors if you fancy something a bit calmer and posher!

Having used the different Taylors across Oxford, for a number of years I’m shocked at some of the poor comments they have received?! The service is always friendly and efficient, if you go at the peak of lunch trade it’s not as personable but it’s fast which means you get to eat the incredible food faster! Their specials are great and where they have them ready made it makes for a quick grab and go lunch! I treated myself to their ham and Brie baguette from the new shop in the covered market and had it warmed up...OMG - cold day with a warm lunch, enjoyed every last crumb! Thank you 😊

What an awful shame ...I have been popping into Taylor's Summertown on a regular basis to pick up a coffee. I requested my usual cappuccino to go. On walking away I realised that the cup was extremely light. On arrival at my desk I then realised that the cup had very very little coffee in it. Mostly foam, and that was three quarters down the cup anyway. The following day I mentioned this to A member of staff, who quite rudely suggested that I did not know what a cappuccino was. She told me it was meant to be just foam !!!, So ... Sorry Taylor's I shall now pop into Gail's , just up the road for my usual coffee and snack! I also suggest that an overall of 'some' staff customer service. F

Popped in here for a sandwich after a visit to the Pitt Rivers as it looked popular. There are two shops - one serving rolls and cakes which only has seating outside and the other we went to which has some indoor seating. This one serves flatbreads and melts, and has a pasta and a sandwich bar (though this closes at 2o’clock on the dot. My husband ordered a salmon melt, which was delicious, full of smoked salmon and cream cheese and I ordered a falafel wrap. As others have mentioned, the filling was microscopic. There was one falafel cut in half, to make it look like it was full of falafel, some peppers, tahini and loads of salad. So disappointing and such poor value. Pity, the place looked so good.

We have visited Taylors on a number of occasions for lunch and loved the sheer amount of food to choose from. But several times the final result of what we've ordered has been lacklustre. Soup when you eat in comes in a cup; curry comes in a pot, covering the rice completely (and a large portion is fairly meagre) and bread doesn't even merit a plate! The taste of all of the food is very good but the execution is not good enough and the service is very curt and fairly lacking in customer appeal

The only thing I found slightly amusing was the fact the specials board had the same sandwiches on it that it had 4 years ago. Taylors seem to have had a revamp in some ways since my last visit (there are now seats) but the specials remain. I have fond memories of the pastrami special but I'd imagine more regular customers than me might like something new. It's still tasty though! We waited in line as they took an age to make 3 coffees for the people in front of us, then it was out turn, to which a guy looked at me directly in the queue and asked. Anyone waiting while looking further up the queue ? That was weird. So, I said, erm, yeah, we are waiting. So anyway, they heated the samosa in the oven, but the guy had obviously forgotten about us. He kinda caught my eye and remembered something was in the oven. It was well done but not burnt, so I couldn't ask for another one, but it was hotter than the surface of the sun. Whilst historically I used to visit Taylor's regularly; their prices continue to increase regularly despite no improvement in service or quality. Baguettes are largely variable and portion sizes not particularly generous. With so much competition in Oxford and the price for a basic, cold meat baguette approaching £4 alone, I can no longer justify visiting here. Bringing in a £4 meal deal (baguette + can) or bringing baguettes down to a more reasonable £3 mark would make me visit again; but for now I will enjoy the rest Oxford offers.

I don't understand the craze surrounding Taylor's when there are so many amazing independent sandwhich shops and delis around Oxford that are much more tasty and generous. The sandwiches at Taylors are expensive and generally quite small, and the salads are just pathetic. If you are really in a hurry and happen to be running past (it does have two stores in handy locations, and most dishes are ready made) then maybe you can justify grabbing something for convenience, but if you have a more leisurely lunch break why not walk on to 'On the Hoof' 5 minutes from the north oxford shop or 'Olives' next to the other which are so much better?

I have eaten at the Summertown Taylors a few times now, both eat in and take away. Their flatbread melts are delicious and now that I have tried their take away salads ( wife put me on a diet ) I'm overjoyed. The salad choice is wide and varied and, frankly DELICIOUS !. Yes, there may be a bit of a wait sometimes but frankly that's a small price to pay for being able to choose what you want in your salad and having it prepared so lovingly. With the help of Taylors salads I've lost a stone in weight too :-)

Definitely worth trying. Excellent coffee, much better than the Neros Costas and Starbucks you find in the high street.

After hearing so much about Taylors we popped in at the Summertown outlet and ordered toasted sandwiches expecting to be impressed. It was hugely disappointing with little or no effort made. I could barely make out the difference between plain bread and toasted. The table was dirty and the stool had butter on the leg coupled with the fact that the sandwich was barely edible.

Slow and disorganised service, tired wrap with wilted salad, dry & acrid falafel and an out of date drink. Loved Taylor's when I was a kid, won't be going back!

We went to Taylors in High street, Oxford. We asked for 2 sandwiches and the employee who served us was listless, unprofessional and very rude. When we ordered the sandwich, he told us very fed up what kind of bread we wanted then he continued to ask for the other ingredients grumbling. When finally he did our sandwiches, we asked to heat the bread and he added a charge for that. Incredible!!!

I wanted to order 3 baguettes - the process took over 10 minutes Girl serving at an infuriating slow pace asking me 4 or 5 times to 'confirm' my order back to me? Asking for butter once should surely suffice! Wife had finished her bacon and brie before I sat down with mine Entire establishment is amateurish with no management system or oversightFine 'quick' snack stop for tourists or students but forget social pleasantries or service - for that look elsewhere

We popped in for a quick bite and cup of coffee, and was not disappointed. Had a super paneer curry and a Thai green curry that were really excellent, quick and great value for money. Will definitely go again.

I went in for a quick breakfast sandwich and had a bacon and sausage baguette and a cup of tea.It came to £4 which was very good, especially as I had just considered m&s cafe where it would have been over £5.

We've stopped off at this Summertown branch a few times and not for the first time left disappointed.I had the sausage & bacon flatbread (£4.25) which was poor - i took it back as it distinctly lacked bacon (they DON'T overfill their sandwiches) but was informed that it was 'about right' to be fair, I was offered a refund, which I took and given the sandwich anyway but even for free, I still left it! The tiny portion of bacon was so dried out it was inedible and the sausages seemed charred on the outside and under cooked on the inside.I also had a sausage roll which was also below par - that got left as well!My wife had the brie and spinach (£3.95) - again, the portions were very small and we had to ask for it to be reheated as it was cold in the middle. There are much better places to spend your hard earned cash - this place is overpriced for what they serve up.

A superb selection of 'mix your own' salads, home made soup and hot pots (continually selling out and being replaced with a different dish), filled breads, pasta which you can make to your choice all of which you can follow with excellent pastries or cakes. Slightly Spartan seating on ideal small, communal tables. A good range of juices and other soft drinks. Really worth visiting if you want an exceptionally tasty light snack or lunch.

This perfect for picking up a premade sandwich and chilled jiuce if you are running for the bus at the bus station next to the deli. It also does soup and sausage rolls. So essentially it is an eat and run place, but the choice of sandwich fillings lifts it to another level, Sadly there isn't a good between average and very good, because that would be my preferred rating.

Yep, another day trip to Oxford having been introduced to Knoops last December. A range from 34% to 80% this time. Three out of four excellent. The 80% was rather disappointing, probably down to the fact that it was vegan ( had not spotted that) such that different milk was used and possibly more water. Will concentrate on the 70% for our next visit. Blueberry slices and Pain au Chocolat both fabulous. And great service. Hayling Seagoon

Actually, we had a number of dinners & breakfast during the 5 days in Oxford. The quality of food and service was superb! The level of cuisine is quite high -- especially the Tagine -- not to miss.

Extremely inefficient staff. Very very slow service at an off-peak time. Seems the two staff on shift are either clearly trainee or just clueless. The girl keeps hiding when one or two people walk in. Customers walking out!!
