Thought there would be live music. Bar staff said the owner not well, had a hugely overpriced drink (chipped glass, sticky table), and left. Maybe another day, but one thing's for sure, I won't be returning.

Our daughter had her summer garden party themed wedding here last weekend. She got married at the Oxford Town Hall then we transported all the wedding guests up the Isis River on a jolly half hour boat trip for all and a motor launch for the bride and groom). At Isis Farmhouse we were brilliantly hosted by the fabulous Noreen and her wingman Adrian. We landed at Isis Farmhouse's landing stage on the towpath. Noreen was waiting with champagne and congratulations . We made our way through the water meadows to their garden wedding site where we had drinks and canapés with a string duo playing gentle classical music. We then had dinner and speeches followed by dancing in their wedding marquee. If you want to hold your wedding reception formally at the Ritz eating Michelin starred food this is not the venue for you. If you want your wedding day to be a great party in one of the most beautiful riverside spots in Oxford then I wholeheartedly recommend the Isis Farmhouse. Out of her cavern of fun wedding things Noreen even produced bridal thrones ( eat your hearts out Beckhams) and the team were helpful with set up the day before.Nothing was too much trouble for this welcoming duo and their delightful friendly staff. The best bit of the great vibe ? The music. The house band led by Noreen and her fiddle and Adrian on guitar is phenomenal and they had the dance floor heaving. We love to dance and this was one of the best wedding dance bands we have enjoyed to date.

I cycled here from central oxford along the canal and theres no doubt the location and ambiance of this pub should garner a 5 star review without hestitation but unfortuantely the staff are uninterested and poorly trained. The setting outside is beautiful but the Farmhouse needs complete renovation and is shabby which I suppose could be a plus if you want something "authantic" (whatever that means). The single drink I had (a non alcoholic ginger beer) was over priced to the point of robbery and was served in a glass with ice with an inch of water at the bottom. Hope to see this place shine one day because its a real gem with so much potential for excellence!

A regular pub with the food and drinks you'd expect from it, so you will find a good fish and chips there. They have a lot of space inside but that is nothing compared to the tables they have outside. However what really makes it stand out is it's location. Situated in between the meadows next to the river Thames, this Farmhouse makes you feel like you have found a special place. Ideal to to have a bite or drink after a lovely walk through nature.

We visit every year when we are on holiday. Today we visited and were greeted on arrival by all the staff we passed in the garden on the way in. I didn't need to wait at the bar to be served. They have a cool system for food outside and give you a buzzer to collect your food from a hatch in the garden. Great idea and saves the staff extra work on a hot day. Food was lovely and the garden is looking great. It was nice to watch families come and go and see boats stop off the river. Lovely to see it looking so well with different function areas and live music this Sunday!

This pub is only approached along the towpath from Iffley to Oxford. On a summer evening you could probably forgive a lot. But on a cloudy summer lunchtime, not particularly warm, the welcome needed to be warmer, service more efficient (they got our order wrong) and it was poor value. The whole place was dirty, the toilets were horrible and the seating uncomfortable. But the location on the river bank was superb.

It's a nice location but the food is terribly overpriced. We paid €16.50 for a few slices of tough halloumi that didn't come with any sides. This was one of their mains but even a child would still be hungry after eating this! The vegan buffalo wings were not wings at all but basically re-heated quorn nuggets. Add the lack of table service and the massive queue to order and it's basically a total rip-off. Perhaps nice for drinks but for food a place like The Perch is much much better.

I went there today on a boat, in they pub the people I brought on the boat paid me £20 a person ( so £80 total ) and I put the money in my keys (look at photo). Then disaster struck, I left on my boat and I left my keys with the £80, but luckily I got back, the keys were there but the money wasn’t. So basically one of the staff members pocketed it, said he was going to return it ( blatantly a lie ). But I did manage to get it back. So that’s my bad encounter, but also the food came after about an hour which I didn’t appreciate, but it’s a large pub so understandable. So all in all don’t go there as the staff are horrible.

100% recommended for wedding receptions! We celebrated our wedding at the Isis Farmhouse in July of 2023. It was a beautiful and perfectly organised event. We arrived by boat and were greeted with drinks and canapés by the river front. Our guests enjoyed the relaxed and green environment and the kids loved playing with the lawn games. Dinner was then served in the marquee, and the food was delicious and arrived perfectly on time. All the waitressing staff were incredibly kind and professional, they really pulled off a perfect event. The party was kicked off with a live salsa band and everyone danced until the very end. Even the bartenders were dancing behind the bar while serving drinks. A fantastic and magic atmosphere. Aga, Noreen and her team were wonderful. They had so many great ideas and took the initiative to solve problems without us even noticing. They even made sure to keep some canapes reserved for us while we were having a couple’s photo session. You’re in the best hands if you decide to have your reception here. The location is great but that's about it. Service is slow and disorganised but my main issue is with the food. The vegetarian menu is quite limited and the chickpea salad I had recently was not much bigger than a starter elsewhere! I was tempted to order chips to fill me up but was afraid it might not arrive before closing time. On the previous occasion (a function when I didn't choose the menu) the vegetarian main course was basically a few mixed vegetables. PHOENIX TO THE ASHES DRIVEN The Isis Farmhouse Pub in Oxford might just be the Chernobyl of English Riverside pubs. Someone has evidently taken the most nauseating hallucinations from a bad acid trip and thought, “You know what? Let’s give this a postcode!” There's a special place in hell for establishments like this, and Charlie Brooker would probably have penned an entire 'Black Mirror' episode dedicated to its existence. Now, onto the pièce de résistance, the culinary horror show they try to pass off as “food”. Ever heard of "Vintage Fish"? No? That's because most places respect the concept of sell-by dates. At the Isis Farmhouse, the fish is so old, it probably has tales of swimming with dinosaurs. It's an audacious attempt to redefine gastronomy by fusing the tastes of the Mesozoic era with modern-day salmonella. But if the age-defying seafood doesn’t get your gag reflexes going, the surroundings surely will. Imagine, if you will, sipping your stale beer on the lushest, greenest... astro turf. Because nothing says 'authentic British pub' like the plastic underbelly of a failed football pitch. But wait, there’s more! For those brave souls who venture to the loo, you're in for a 'festival experience'. And by that, I mean festival portaloos that appear to have been salvaged from Woodstock's muddiest day and never cleaned since It’s as if hygiene became a mere suggestion rather than a standard. Every visit feels like an episode of 'Fear Factor'. The Isis Farmhouse isn’t just where good evenings go to die; it’s where dignity, taste, and probably several digestive systems have met their untimely end. If Dante had known of its existence, he would’ve added an extra circle to his Inferno.

I'm leaving two stars just because of the great location and atmosphere. Service was INCREDIBLY slow. Just unbelievable. I ordered a smoked salmon (which was listed under mains, but was simply a salad) + cheesy chips. I've waited for an hour and went to complain. The guy who was responsible for the orders said something about the waiter that didn't make any sense. I asked him how long roughly it will take and he replied "10 minutes". Waited for another 25. So for chips and a salad I had waited an HOUR AND 25 MINUTES. There were a lot of people who waited for the same amount of time or maybe even more, and it was not even that busy. However, the salad was simply atrocious. A 5-year-old can do this salad in less than 5 minutes (make them 10 if they have to wash the salad beforehand, but this should already be done in a restaurant kitchen...). Chips were good. I'd recommend only going for a drink there. The crisps behind the bar are also good and have some interesting flavours.

One of the best locations in Oxford. However, the bar service was so slow, food service was even slower and the food quality and portion size was poor. This place has amazing potential, but needs some serious investment in speeding up service and improving quality. The kid’s burger and scampi was totally uninspiring, the abosolute minimum anyone should expect for £7.50. The Isis could be the most successful pub in Oxford if lessons were learnt form similar places in the area. Even if the pub focussed on four really good options on the menu, dropped the frozen chips and had an outdoor bar things would be improved dramatically. Bar staff also need training properly, being offered drinks in dirty glasses was not a highlight. The decor has always been basic, but now it’s basic, verging on run down and tacky with plastic grass, plastic flowers, ugly marquees and poorly installed seating areas. The rustic charm of the place used to be one of its assets. I guess the priorities of the owners are events rather than casual diners/drinkers. A shame.

Gorgeous find! Beautiful willow trees over the Thames, a huge garden perfect for summer sitting, and a quirky bar.

Gorgeous and amazing tasting food. Lovely Staff and a beautiful massive beer garden as well as a lovely interior in case it rains. I wish I was open every single day of the week!!

I understand the appeal of the location, but honestly, shabby just doesn’t cover it. If I wasn’t desperate for a drink after a long walk, I’d have left immediately. Those wanting food were having to wait as apparently ‘it hadn’t arrived’. Could be amazing in such a wonderful spot, what a shame!!

Pretty decent seabass and a veggie burger and very nice staff and garden. Just could have done with a few more at the bar to serve but appreciate hard to find staff esp on New Years day!

Very disappointing for Xmas day drink, cold and uninviting. Had hoped for a warm atmospheric lunchtime drink and was very disappointed

It's still nice and obviously the location is better in the spring - summer. The furniture is a bit Wetherspoon-y, not very comfy or relaxing for me. We ordered soft drinks and chips, but the chips were so salted (mind you, I like salty stuff a lot, but this was a whole new level), I won't rush back to get food here. Also the beeping thing for the order is probably good if you're sitting outside, but inside?

Should be amazing, but expensive, shabby, and a shadow of what it could be. Have also been here for a large booked/paid event, and they had one person on the bar - 45mins to get a drink dampened the party.

Thank you so much to Ayan, who dressed my wounds when I came off my bike just by the lock. Really appreciated it and helped me to get home without making the scrapes any worse.

Words cannot describe how awful the experience was. From bar staff so laid back they seemed asleep on the job to trying to rest on a shabby chique style which came across as uncaring and simply just not bothered. Food was awful, cold and poor potion sizes. Worst hospitality experience ever had.
