I have been taken here several times and once queued for coffee on my own. The coffee is never hot, it is weak and too milky. And it is expensive with one choice of size only. The coffee machine workers need a review in time and motion as production is slow. Food is average and limited. Much better coffee at better prices in the surrounding streets. I went back to the office and made myself a better coffee from our machine, free.

Although they usually have some cakes and sandwiches. They also have couple of seats inside if you want to seat, so there is an option for everyone.

I have had several coffees from Taylor street and it is always too weak, too milky and too cool - as in not hot enough. Taylor streets are expensive and staffed exclusively by tw*ts who believe they are artisans because they can make a cup of coffee. Except they can't' even do that. The canary wharf branch is always full of tw*ts who don't know anything about coffee but are taken in by the veneer of synthetic cool. I despair at how so many people do not know anything about food and drink and so are taken in by places like this. Costa is better. Taylor street represent everything that is wrong with food in the 21st century.

This is a stylish brand new establishment, part of an Australian chain, that has speciality coffee as it's main offering. This place claims to make coffee like you would expect to find in Australia and I can say it didn't even come close to this. The coffee was extremely weak for a flat white with very little warmth in temperature, so basically undrinkable! Plus the price is higher than the average cafe. If you're going to print finely crafted coffee on your cups you have to need to at least get the basics right.

I am in Canary Wharf just for a few weeks and I've only recently discovered this little gem. No Costa, Starbucks or Nero gets even close to the cappuccinos in this place. They are just perfect. There is always a long queue (no wonder...) but it goes fast enough so it's no problem. The staff is really friendly as well, specially for London standards; small talk with the crew is not considered awkward as opposed to other places around here. And yes, it's slightly expensive compared to big chains, but a) it's top quality coffee and b) you get a free one after number four, which means that a £3.20 cappuccino turns into a £2.56 one when you get your fifth. More than reasonable. Totally recommended.

This place was recommended by a friend for coffee. I am told that the queue is regularly out of the door, but the place is pretty small. It wasn't that busy when we arrived and we ordered our coffees and went to the collection area by the door. The place is so small they don't have an area for you to sugar your drink and they do it for you. I don't like that as depending on the taste of the coffee, I may decide to add more sugar after tasting it. I did find the coffee had a different nutty taste. I drunk it, but I didn't enjoy it.

No complaints usually but on the last few occasions I have been less than impressed with my regular 'Two Toast with Marmite' order. Sadly, this morning was the last straw for me. After a rather long wait (10 minutes for toast...), I reached my desk (2 mins walk away) to find the toast was not only tepid but they hadn't even cut it in half to make it easier to eat. Admittedly it looked like they had a newbie on but really, I was disappointed and ended up throwing most of it away as it was like chewing the inner-sole of a shoe. I've been going to Taylor Street for the past 5 years. I've seen it grow from a couple of small kiosk shops in Brighton and Richmond to a popular neighbourhood cafe with maybe 8 or 9 locations in London (and one still in Brighton). What I like is that each shop takes on the personality of the surroundings - yet I always feel a nice warmth no matter which one I visit. The staff have always been lovely to me and seem to have a soft-spot for little kids as well. I'm surprised to hear a couple recent reviews saying that the staff are arrogant - it sounds out of character for Taylor Street. I remember one time when it wasn't so busy, one of the staff even tried to teach me how to make coffee art (the pretty images on top of the lattes/flat whites)... they seemed excited to share their passion about making great tasting, great looking coffee.Taylor Street takes pride in making delicious and beautifully crafted coffee - all ethically sourced, of course. Their tea, too, is really nice - try rose of the orient which I've only ever found there. I'm happy to have one close to where I live - now if only they put one close to where I work as well!

read great reviews bout this place in the mayfair magazine, when there twice. both times asked for a long black in the bigger cup, half filled. one of the staff decided that that is not what i wanted, instead gave me a smaller cup, filled to the bream. Go figure that!. Didn't make a fuss. Next time asked for the same and again got even a worse thing. Extremely hot brown water was served so i got up and nicely asked them to re do it. Guy that makes a coffee, scruffy, unkept, long hair, eastern european peasant attitude, started arguing with me loudly so half of the place looked at me. to make that matter worse three other staff behind the counter got involved in the conversation telling me i should be having a plunger coffee. i have been having this sort of coffee for years, and i try to explain how it is usually made. no they or have PhD in it, and who the f* am i? i made i face and set down, after three of them all looked and with a spoon 'analysed the coffee'.They finally remade my coffee close to what i wanted. Later on found out they are in partnership with supermarket Tesco and fill open starbucks type of joint all over london. too expensive and wait if time. DONT be fooled with all the Australian reputation of coffee making, there were aussies there, but cheap european labour. they just wanna attract tourists and reap u off.Go to wood and wild coffee instead, 1 New Oxford Street

Visiting London on a yearly basis, I usually stop by this little espresso bar. Pity it was ruined by the pretentious behaviour and attitude of a barista recently when I asked him for some sugar. Last time I heard it was the customers choice. He could do with a couple of lessons in customer care, however I will not be returning. I also found the espresso overly short in length, more like a ristretto in quantity. They certainly were not serving coffee like this last year...shame though, another one bites the dust.

And as yet I am still looking. The lunchtime treats of sandwiches, soups and salads are such a breath of fresh air compared to the usual offerings you get around a mainline station. And finally the cakes which provide a delicious indulgence are too good to miss but should carry an addictive warning! We were given this afternoon tea as a present. The menu for the afternoon tea looks good... but fails to deliver. "Mini brioche and sandwiches Ham, cheddar and mustard Chicken and pesto Cucumber, crème fraiche and smoked salmon Egg mayonnaise and cress." What we actually got was four very small squares of sandwich each, consisting of just the smoked salmon and the egg mayonnaise. Some small cakes as described and a scone. Some of the bread was not the freshest we've ever had, not stale, just not as soft as fresh bread. We were only offered one cup of tea or coffee. Every other afternoon tea we've had at other venues at least offered us additional drinks. It's not as if the place was busy, there were only a few occupied tables. As for atmosphere and ambiance, there was none, especially as the cleaner was hoovering around us and then using a floor polisher.
