Tasty Plaice in Sheffield

Visiting this place as our local one has been closed down . And called in while we was shopping. Meal was so full off greese we had to throw it away not a patch on what it was on previous visits . Put us off from using this place ever again

I’m from Sheffield but live in Nottingham, I really miss the good old Sheffield fish cakes. It was my birthday and I was having family over. I called Tasty Plaice in advance and ordered 20 Sheffield fish cakes, which my son picked up for me. All I can say is I received AMAZING customer service and delicious fresh cooked food. They even threw in some extras that were equally as nice. We were given a portion of battered chips, never had them before but they are a game changer. I’m not easily impressed, so when I say it’s a must go place, I mean it!

Nice fish but the chips were incredible there called orange chips which originate from the black country (lightly battered chips)and they are seriously addictive ,being from Scotland I'm a huge chippy fan and would love to see them open up here ,great service excellent value

Came here looking for Harry Ramsdens but alas its gone, however, found this place. Staff courteous and kind and helpful. Food very good, large portions. I did enjoy it x

I had a jacket potato which was pretty average for food court fodder, but my mother had a potato fritter with chips. She is 82 and I am 60. These were the best chips ever!!! I couldn’t work out exactly what they do to them, but they were outstanding, and there were loads in her portion. She has a small appetite, I helped her out and still had enough to bring home, where my niece agreed with our evaluation of THE BEST CHIPS EVER!!!

You never expect much from a shopping centre food court and this wouldnt have been a first choice, but given the current restrictions (and the stupidly long queues at other fast food outlets), this seemed a reasonable choice. We were pleasantly surprised i have to say. The chips were as good as i have had anywhere, no idea why they were really yellow but really nice. Mushy Peas average as was Curry Gravy, but overall the service, cost and quality was pretty good.

Usually order the fish and chips but decided to get a chicken kebab in a nan with salad. The chicken was absolutely lovely. Cooked well with a great portion size. The salad was thinly sliced making it easier to eat. Great lightly battered chips. Amazing food overall.

First time ordering from this restaurant and was very disappointed the fish was very greasy and tasteless the chips were ok . Will not be ordering from here again

We often go there when we visit Meadowhall, the fish is always nice and those lightly battered chips are super. Highly recommended.

Visited here for Fish and Chips and mushy peas and I must say that these are the best fish and chips I have ever had, they were delicious. The fish is light ,fluffy and not greasy in any way. and the chips were amazing I don't know what the chips were cooked in but they were superb and very tasty. The mushy peas were delightful to. You must visit this place(Plaice) :)

Tasty chips! The scampi was good at first, but after a few bites it tasted very salty. I liked the curry that came with it as an option. Good choice indeed. Chicken tikka kebab was very good. Recommended. Thumbs up! Friendly and knowledgable staff!

Good fish and chips, in fact most things in the menu are tasty. A little expensive but a welcome change from the various burger fast food joints dotted around the place.

Didn't know what to eat and saw this plaice, lol. So many choices of fish and other things, staff so quick and soon served, prices very competative all in all great meal, plenty extras like mushy peas, gravy, curry sauce, also pies and sausages, delicious.

Decided to try here instead of Wetherspoons which is a short walk away which we had a disappointing meal at. Had two meal deals at £5.99 and found portions a little too big but otherwise a beautiful meal to eat.

I visited on Thursday and I had pie,chips and peas from here and it was gorgeous. The chips looked like they had been cooked with the scraps which made it even better . 10 out of 10.
