Firstly the smell of delicious fish & chips attracted us in once inside you are amazed how clean and lovely the place is and views into the prep side immaculate. The chips were absolutely tasty and fish was the best we had had the portions were huge and staff are really nice welcoming people and grateful for your custom highly recommended x

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips! The cod was so white, so fresh and yay no skin on! The batter was crunchy and absolutely delicious! We’re visiting from Canada abs have had a lot of dish and chips this past 4 weeks and this was absolutely our favourite! The lady serving us was a sweetheart! My husband and I WILL be back!

well lets start with the chips .chips should be golden brown soft in the middle not white like icebergs and hard and batter should be golden brown too .not a pale golden colour on fish.well they got one thing right here good white fish n soft.please take a little more time cooking the food you give your customers.or try tasting the food you give out.we have been over 5 times to this chip shop because of the reviews seen on tripadvisor and still waiting for the four stars ect.to be shown on the food we get.if you can get four stars once why not cook the food every time for all your customers

I called into this fish shop and I was blown away with the quality of food. The place was very clean abs the staff were very helpful and nice. I would highly recommend it to anyone. This is a must. Beautiful and keep it up.

Huge portions, great value for money, friendly and helpful staff, everything appeared clean and good hygiene appeared to be practice... and the food tastes great. Would say best in Sheffield.

Found this chippy was open for takeaway during current situation, all social distancing well managed. Portions are huge, we shared a large cod and chips. Great food, great service. Would not consider returning to previous favourite Townend, new name of Battered Cod.

This place is around the corner from my in-laws house, and every time we come back to Sheffield to visit, we stop in at least once. My husband loves their chips and I can't resist the kebabs. We always end up bringing home way too much food, as the menu leaves us spoiled for choice.

Best chips I've had in years! So much nicer than any chips at the seaside or anywhere else for a long time! Kids portions are huge as well! Well worth a visit.

not bad but missing something that previous owner had with his cooking so, not as good as it used to be. shame

Ordered from here quite a few times. Great food and nice people. One of the only places to do a saveloy as well! Shame they don't do scallops. No complaints here though.

A takeaway recommended to me, tried and would recommend to all. Lovely friendly service, good portions. we had 2 large kebabs and portion of chips and was more than enough for 4.

kebab meat was cold and dry looks like all day been on pots...chicken and chips dry as well ...not the best place to eat...

Usually when a chippy does kebabs too the traditional fish and chips arnt as good. But this is not the case here gorgeous food and great lunchtime deals. Much to choose from and they do cheese chips and gravy even if you do get a funny look! Lovely clean looking shop too
