on Saturday l went to the chip and l got fish cake sandwich for my tea,it was OMG l really injoyed it,the staff was very friendly,l would recommend it to anyone to try it.😋😋

Has this place changed owners! I heard this place was good, so I thought I would try it, and the food was disgusting!! When she got the fish cake from the fryer, I could see it bend and I thought omg that looks so soggy… and it was!! It looked like it had been soaked in water, and the chips had a burnt taste to them! The fish cake had burnt bits on it too ! It all went into the bin!! Never going here again. I should have just stuck to the poisidon .

Massively underrated chippy. These people know what they’re doing. The fish and chips are both excellent and cooked properly in dripping. Mushy peas actually taste like peas and aren’t full of green food colouring. I’d go there just for the peas!

Awful fish and chips, full of grease, chips were vile, offered this garbage to the dog, but even he wouldn't eat it, if you want food poisoning go to this place, you are guaranteed it, i was sick four times after eating just a bit of this rubbish, AVOID

We tried Woodseats Fisheries after being disappointed with our local chippy. It was middle of the road really and my constructive feedback was that the chips were a bit hard, like they have been fried more than once. The fish wasn't dry and the small fish was more than enough. However the batter was soggy and a bit greasy. Not crispy at all which is what you want from decent fried fish. Peas were nice. I have to say that you are encouraged to buy local for various reasons but when there are so many fish and chip shops local to me, these small business really need to up their game especially when buying fish and chips is getting more expensive. Its really not good enough 😕

Wife goes for same order on Tuesdays when we are visiting relatives in that area been going for months now quality never changes ,nice staff well worth the the extra distance to get there.

I visited this place out the blue and I was not disappointed. I’m normally picky about where I eat and the sausage here is lovely, that nice I had 2. I’ll deffo be comin here again, more the merrier. Overall lovely service and cAnt recommend enough.

Ordered a large fish, but unfortunately received not much larger than a lunchtime special sized portion. The fish was greasy and overcooked. For the amount we received, so not worth it. Much better at the Phoenix, just up the road.

I used to use this chip shop years ago and recently over the last few months revisited every Saturday for their amazing fish cakes. Not only is the food excellent the staff are amazing so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Our family look forward to our weekly Saturday treat Thankyou.

It's good to know we have three of the best chip shops in Sheffield in woodseats. And this is definitely one of them the fish and chips are lovely a good portion for the money.The batter is lovely golden crispy and the chips are perfect. Love to eat them open fresh with mushy peas.

ive been to a few chippys in my time but nothing compares to woodseats fisheries, million star rating. this is a must go to chippy, sauages and chips are amazing, and the scraps are just gorgeous

We haven't been to Woodseats Fisheries for a while, as our local fish and chip shop has improved recently, but we happened to be passing one lunchtime and quickly decided to stop for lunchtime fish and chips. They were as excellent as ever!

This is the place if you love your f & c dripping in fat. They have not yet mastered the tricky art of shaking off the excess cooking fat after cooking. You will have enough excess fat to do your home cooking for a week.

What better on a sunny day than chips in a tray open.I had chips chili and cheese probably the nicest chili I've tasted. The portions are really generous and for £3.55 a real bargain. Definitely one of the best chippys in the area.

Friday fish and chips as we was passing we decided to get fish and chips open. To me they always better open instead of wrapped in the paper sweating. Always busy always quality and very reasonable price never lets us down.

My, my, my... what can I say? Having come from Norway, I’ve always wanted to have some proper “English” fish and chips, and I’m pretty sure this is the best fish and chips in the UK. Me and my husband had chips in every town we visited on our holiday: Durham, Croydon, Aberdeen and Bognor Regis, but this was undoubtedly the best. The boy who served us, Matthew I think his name was, was a most jolly little fellow. He was singing with warm bass tones as we walked in, and greeted us with a friendly smile. He truly made the food experience amazing. I will return again and again, never change!

Bought 3 portions of fish & chips on saturday, they used to be reallt good from there but to say they were disgusting is an understatement, the amount of grease, they literally slid down and out of the other end an even faster pace

It's hard to beat this place for quality and price. Fish and chips for £4.25 a great price the fish is gorgeous with lovely batter. The chips are really nice always cooked perfect.

I'm not often so appalled by the quality of take away food that I make the effort to review it, but in this case I feel I must. I visited around 7pm on a Friday evening when you would expect the fish to at least be freshly cooked. This was obviously not the case here though. I only ordered cod as a quick bite on my way home. The batter was extremely soggy and had a thick yellow paste under the surface and the fish itself was a horrible grey colour. I tried tasting a small piece but decided it was probably best not to eat it as it tasted no better than it looked. I through it in a bin on the way home but now believe I would have been better keeping it for closer inspection! This is a chippy I've used many times in the past but not for some time and I can safely say that I will NEVER be using it again. Disgusting

Tasty. ~£5.75 for large cod and chips. Cod nice although multiple layers of thin batter unusual I thought. Chips tastiest in years I've had. Looking forward to trying them when they get the air bubble between chip interior and exterior to the chip really superb. I,d give them 5/5 then.

I've been going to this chip shop for some years now and the quality of the fish & chips is excellent , the fish has a dark ( very tasty ) batter , it's the only fish and chip shop that I ask for scraps. It's also incredible value with fish & chips costing less than £4.

Possibly the best fish(cake) and chips in the UK. Used to travel regularly from leeds under the guise of "work" just for this takeaway. Never had better in 30 years.

I go here every month for a treat every time I have been its been top marks If I could rate 6 I would. Always good size potions (the other people that review the potions are rubbish only ask for chips not large chips) So they order only regular If you go and you like a big meal like me always make it clear to the staff that's working that you want a large not regular then you should enjoy a nice meal. Amazing fish and chips from Woodseats fisheries, chesterfield road Sheffield. great value, great tasting and consistent all of the time, but always a queue but well worth the wait. The only downside being it's a tad difficult to park.

Wir waren hier nur kurz auf Durchreise. Kurz auf TA geschaut und diesen Laden entdeckt. Der Fisch (Cod) war lecker. Die Chips ganz weich und nicht zu fettig. Ich würde hier her kommen, allein schon wegen der freundlichen Bedienung.

This in my opinion is the best fish & chip shop in Sheffield. The fish is light, fluffy and always tastes fresh. The chips are excellent also, top marks from me.

Worst chippy Iv been to .. Serious... I don't like to slate local businesses but the prices are high,the portions are small,the quality is not great, I always get chronic heartburn from the fishcakes, probably die to the high amount of hard fat that's soaked into the batter...sorry but i walk past hungry rather than visit

We used to go here all the time for our fish and chips but recently feel the standards have dropped. The quality of food doesn't seem as good and the place doesn't look very clean at times. People used to queue out of the door here but it seems other people also feel it has gone down hill

First time i have ever had fish and chips from here. Never again portions are tiny fish looks like its never seen water and the mushy peas are that thick you could stand your fork up in them. Will not be going back for a second visit

I work very close to this Fish & Chip Shop and use it one a regular basis, both dinner times and evenings.At dinnertime the shop provide a Child's Portion of Fish Chips & Peas and a Carton of a soft drink, priced at £2.35, this is excellent value. The Fish is always perfectly cooked and served fresh. The Chips are consistently brown and well cooked, not too crispy, just how I like them. The Peas are mushy Peas. This meal is served in a tray and I have never had a bad serving.My one slight criticism is that they close at what I consider to be an early closing time of 8.00 p.m. Also, there have been times when I have called at the shop between 7.00 and 8.00 p.m., and there is very little left, as though they are almost preparing to close prematurely. I have had a couple of occasions when this has happened and it is a little disappointing. But, as I have said before the Fish and Chips served here are excellent in taste and value

I visit this place monthly (usually when I'm picking the dog up from his groom!) and I am never disappointed with the food here. The fish and chips are always well cooked and the portions generous - the staff are efficient and friendly so ticks all the right boxes for the old english classic.

I've had fish, chips and peas from there a few times. Never been fantastic but I'm not fussy when it comes to fish and chips unless it is outstanding or extremely bad.I had fish and chips today 31/10/14 and it was disgusting. Parts of the fish were raw. What was cooked about the fish was grey and the smell was very unpleasant. The batter was slimy and greasy. The chips tasted like they'd been in a microwave and were hard. The peas were ok, I'll give it that. I left pretty much all of it apart from some of the peas.

One of the best traditional Fish & Chips shops in Sheffield 8, if not Sheffield and must be one of the longest established. Perfect portion size, perfectly cooked and a great price, compared to the huge fish served by some of their competition. Brilliant, well done

After reading the rave reviews of this place, I thought I best give it a go! I ordered fish and chips (I think the fish was cod). £2.75 for the fish and I think £1.40 for the chips, so average prices. My partner had a chip butty which I think was £1.60.The fish was nice, lovely crispy batter, but rather small for the price. However, we both got a very large portion of chips - but they weren't the best chips! Some were hard and others were soggy. I was quite disappointed with the chips as I was expecting something really special after reading the other reviews. All in all I was happy with my meal, the price paid, and I would probably consider going here again, but not over and above any other chip shop in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat from here.

This is a brilliant chippy as can be evidenced by the queues out of the door at lunchtimes. The smell is brilliant as is the food. The staff are very friendly and even though there is a queue you never have to wait long. Yumm!
