Well after several visits to this chip shop I thought I would get a take out for me my my wife and my two grandchildren. It's never been brilliant but this time it was absolutely diabolical. Two fishcakes both hard as rock as if they have been stud there for hours which I think they had. Chips well scraps I should say not many whole chips just bits . Peas, glow in the dark but didn't taste bad. Now some people will eat anything and having tasted the fish in the past it's not great. So me living local in Ecclsall I would say drive to Whitby's at Catcliffe it's worth the effort. I guess some fryers will never have no idea how to get things right but I'm avoiding Two steps for the foreseeable future as it was absolutely diabolical

Mini fish and chips with gravy chased the winter blues away. So good I ordered a second... Miss it miss out.

Last Friday i had the best fish and chips ever at Two Steps. The fish was succulent and delicious, the batter done to perfection and generous portion of chips. Staff friendly too. The next time I'm in Sheffield, i'll be sure to go again. Thank you. A real treat!

Asked for a large cod, an obvious regular came in after me and asked for the same. He was served before me, I got home to find I had been given 2 small cod, not what I asked for. Therefore assuming the regular got my large cod. The batter was soggy, hardly edible. Won't be going again. The prices are also incorrect on the website.

I took my daughter on a pilgrimage to experience the Sheffield fishcake butty. We set off a bit after 09:00, got to Sheffield just after 12:00, and had our fishcake butties. We drove around some of my old student haunts, drove out to Ladybower Reservoir so my daughter could see a little of how beautiful the peak district is, then bombed home. Her verdict on a 6 hour round trip to eat a fishcake butty: “Worth it.” My advice: go lots of salt and vinegar. Then add some more vinegar.

Wonderful, historic, value for money chippy. Got small chips to take away. Barely got a photo because I scarfed them so fast. Might not look like much but they were so fluffy and good! Lots of crunchy ones.

Good food, decent prices. Can get very busy at certain times but staff are efficient.

Top quality food been coming here since I was 15 .went down after a while and the owner recognised me and was very friendly. Food cooked perfect the fish was delicious and the chips were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside

Currently the best chippy I’ve been to in Sheffield. The fish was good and as were the chips. Staff were friendly and they had a good selection of drinks with chippy classics like dnb.

Best chippy in Sheffield without a doubt, the queues testify this! Well worth the wait though. Great quality, generous portions (ooh er missus) and well priced. Can't fault the place. A obvious go to for a quick, naughty take away that the whole family can enjoy

Just had cod n chips from here and it was beautiful! Those poor lasses and the owner working behind that counter in this heat deserve medal. Will make this a regular thing now going her once or twice a month.

Everyone says that their chippy is "the best in Sheffield" but it's actually Two Steps .

Visited Sheffield for the weekend & wanted to try a local dish. Found out that "fishcakes" are done a little differently here and after reading a few online articles, decided to try my first fishcakes at Two Steps following the recommendations. And oh my god was it good! Crispy batter, fondant potatoes, tasty fish. My only regret is that I didn't buy two because the first one finished so quickly. I would highly recommend Two Steps & of course their fishcake- a Sheffield speciality!

The fish is absolutely superb, lots of complaints about the batter on here, granted it could occasionally be a bit thinner but still manages to be suitably delicate. A proper chippy, best in Sheffield in my opinion and the staff are always a delight!

Disappointed tonight. Living locally we always come here for our chips and fish although not been for 3 months. Never had a problem before but tonight ordered large haddock and the the two layers of batter were thicker than the rather measly fish. On the plus side the chips were very good.

Used to be a good chippy but they don’t seem bothered about the customers anymore. They he people serving were lovely but they couldn’t be bothered to prepare what we wanted even though it was there. I much prefer Neptune’s on Eccy Road - friendly, accommodating and good food.

Still one of or possibly the best fish and chips in Sheffield, I stopped going a couple of years ago, not because of the food but because customers don't know how to queue and the service was abysmal. Hands down the best chip shop I’ve ever been to. Fish never fails to be fresh, chips are always bang on and if you haven’t had their mushy pea fritter give it a whirl. Chip shop that actually cares about their product and you can tell that from the queue down the street every night. Enjoy

Had seen the queue out of the door every night since we moved here a month ago. We thought ‘they can’t we THAT good’ well…..they are that good! Perfect portion size, delicious flaky fish with non greasy batter, chips soft and cloud like….just go and queue you will not be disappointed.

We are having a beach day at prior bank care home and we call two steps yo see if we could buy some trays to serve fish and chips on. The manager gave us them fir free as well as the forks. Top class service. Thank you so much.

Fish and chip shops are often tricky for vegetarians but the mushy pea fritter is a revelation! Wonderful chips too, lovely friendly service and the menu is very reasonably priced. Easily accommodated our large order and had it ready and packed for collection.

Jeez! Why do people rave about this place. If you like under cooked chips and soggy batter then be my guest. Never again!

Always good quality and generous portions. They were also the only Chip shop in the are that were actually open.

We mostly buy the chips, which are the best in town. Fried in vegetable oil, wrapped in paper, and a Large feeds two adults in our house!

It IS the best fish and chips in Sheffield or Yorkshire & possibly the entire universe.

I moved to Sheffield two years ago and had not found a fish and chips shop with quality fish and chips but today I found it on all levels quality cod, quality batter and above all chips of the highest taste ive been blown away in my opinion this was easily the best fish and chips in sheffield. I appreciate the history in the name it top step two step staff always willing to help and offering exceptional service very well done I know where is my go to fish and chips take ou.....two steps is the best by far 👌

We were very pleased with this chippy we visited after seeing reviews on YouTube and yes the fishcake was really amazingly delicious the chips were also really good we tried a mushy pea fritter and gravy which was also delicious the staff were so friendly which made our visit even better and the prices were very good would definitely recommend and will definitely visit again just wish this Chipshop was in walsall lol

We visited today on a Friday lunchtime, wasn’t as busy as I’d expected, a couple of people queuing outside. I previously visited sonetime ago, possibly 10 years ago and remember the chips being the nicest id ever eaten in Sheffield so i did have high expectations. Unfortunately the meal was nothing like I experienced years ago, i bought a fish meal with peas and sausage meal with curry, the sauces were seperate which was an extra 20p per meal but i thought the meals were good value at £3.20 each. The food wasn’t bad, but only as good as any other chippy where i live in Aston so not worth the extra miles, i would definitely not say it loves up to its best chippy in Sheffield status anymore, based on the food we had today. I’ve had much better in Sheffield, Shaws at Killamarsh is one of them.
