Tasty Duck in South Tyneside

Changing my review due to got a munchy box last night and well over cooked every thing was dry and hard....never again...go down the road to a 10 min walk for better quality.......really disappointed 😞

Ordered, house special chill and garlic all meat dry as camals knee cap, and mixed starter wontons nowt in them, spare ribs just been dug up dry as a witch's tit, spring nowt in them rolls, terrible never order again from there.

Chicken cooked nice...prawns cooked nice...boiled rice DRY AS A STICK....(CURRY SAUCE IS HORRIBLE...PRAWN CRACKERS ARE RUBBISH...SPOILED THE MEAL)..NO GOING BACK!

Food is unreal! Had a munchie box with extra salt & chilli seasoning and it was unbelievable! Food ready super quick too. Tried so many chineses in south shields and this is definitely our new favourite.

Used to be lovely here not sure if changed chef but last night munchie box tasted of fish and had a horrible seasoning to it, won't be returning sorry

Really lovely food, the taxi specials are so good and great value. One of the best crispy beef in cantonese

staff are very accommodating to different requests about the dishes, all the food I have tried has been great and delivery is usually fast

Never go anywhere else for Chinese takeaway, meals always amazing, chicken and beef in Cantonese unreal! Kids love it from here as well highly recommend

Used to be fantastic, used to order at least twice a week every week,min £30 every time we ordered, but ordered our regular chewmein the other night when it turned up, it was disgusting full of veg, and looked like slop,who puts veg in a prawn chow mein, called them, basically we got fobbed off, THERE LOSS. try red pattern, spot on.

First time trying got the munchie box which was okay also got a beef curry and and chow mein. Beef curry awful the curry sauce is absolutely rank put me off my food. Gutted been waiting all day for a nice Chinese and for it too come and it was awful

Order from here a few times usually food us excellent service is great but I Ordered a munchie box bit into a chicken ball to find not 1 but 3 long black hairs inside the batter absolutely disgusting needless to say the the rest went in the bin totally put off a will not be ordering again or recommending 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮

Beef chicken curry over an hour for delivery and food was crappie never again

The meal arrived after 40 minutes and barely warm. The king prawn fried rice was good with a generous serving of prawns. The vegetable curry however was an utter desaster, also cold , consisting of a strange combination of noodles and near raw onions with a scattering of raw carrot and peppers. I remember the dat when Chinese vegetable curry was a delight of water chestnuts bean sprouts and baby young corn. Won't be going back ever.

Delivery of an almost inedible meal. Prawn toast was at least twice fried, tasted foul. Husbands chips ditto. Almost no sauce on the mains. Won't be back, phoned to complain and told they would give us a discount next time! I don't think so! Used to be lovely, so disappointing.

Popped in to place a order and the owner was having a go with their own staff. I turned around and left

Got a take away munchie box £15.50 got home opened it up looked disgusting threw it in the bin ..should have knew it wouldn't be great as the shop was filthy front of counter and behind but it was the only Chinese that accepted debit card

Got son the salt and chilli chicken and chips. Only thing he's had to eat today and he's been vomiting. He did say the chicken was, what he thought, overcooked, but seems like that wasn't the case as you don't vomit with overcooked food. Also the green peppers had a white "slimy" substance on them, clearly not as fresh as they should be. Had same food from here before and never had this problem. Will not be returning.

Absolutely disgusting. Rock hard dry chips chowmein meat was anemic hardly any noodles more like a soup. Curry sauce no taste. Fried rice really dry. Defo never again

My "go to" chinese takeaway in South Shields. Very generous portions and tasty food. l always try to explore the oriental cuisine by ordering something new and was never disappointed.

Spair ribs so dry the meat was like hard powder curry cold thick gooy ships old re cooked awfull i binned the lot never ever go back there

Tasty Duck is by far the best chinese takeaway we have tried, and we have tried most of them. The munchy box is unreal, huge portions, so well cooked and with the fastest delivery from any takeaway i have ever tried. The main meals we have tried are also unbelivable, genuinely the best chinese around! Dont miss out, give it a try!

Very salty soup, very greasy prawn toast, bland ribs. Called to discuss was told that this is the normal standard of good here. Won't be back.

Amazing food - loved the crispy ness of the chips and spring rolls, not one bit soggy. Chicken chow mien was fabulous, soft chicken and full of flavour. Arrived in 15 minutes and reasonably priced also got free prawn crackers. Will definitely be ordering again!

Didn’t enjoy my meal, ordered a house special chow mien. They should state that it is cooked with mushrooms as a lot of people don’t like them. Had to eat chips rice and curry sauce which was also just pretty basic. Meal ruined because of this.

We’ve been doing a lock down takeaway challenge, partly for a change but also to support other local businesses at this time. Luckily out of the blue I won a draw with a few other lucky people for a munchie box which I picked up today. Easy to give 5 stars as it was free but it was genuinely worth it. Tasty, spicy, hot, variety, enough for three before the prawn crackers. Lovely prize, lovely staff and lovely new Chinese discovery for us, very local too! Thanks

Every time I order the bloke on the phone gets it wrong, I say the order as clear and easily as possible yet I repeat myself multiple times and his attitude is very poor, will be my last order from here sadly, the old management was so much better.

Great take away, the best I south shields

I found this little gem of a place a few months ago, the staff are always friendly and as soon as you walk in you get a smell of absolute deliciousness. they do a taxi special which is any meal ypu want in a tray with rice or chips for around a fiver. the food is cooked in front of you and everything is fresh, the taste is amazing. looking forward to my dreaded night shifts when i know i get to vosot this place.

Excellent food and FAST service

Since i last used them they have now changed the way the food is packed ie including the rice in the same container as the meal. This results in not only receiving much less of the meal but the sauce drips onto the rice giving you soggy rice. I have now thrown out my menu as I will not be using them again.

Changed and been taken over, dishes have changed. Food was totally different to what I have getting for years.

From ordering I should of known the food wouldn’t be any better than the service ! Got my order totally wrong !!! Had to wait for ages . Like come on do you actually know what your doing ??? Totally wasted my time and didn’t have a clue what they were doing !!! Won’t be returning in a hurry

Very nice meals you can stand there and watch the cooks while they cook you order .reasonably priced menu and you get plenty could share any 2 between 3 people no problem.also will reduce or add sauces to your taste.

Amazing food from here, Fiancee loved The Egg Fried Rice, so much so she wanted another one 😂😂 And I Loved The Plain Noodles, There absolutely fantastic, just the right amount of taste, and right amount of Oil, perfect

Kung po special. Used to be one of my favourites. Now they have decided to coat it in a batter, deep fry it, pour sauce over it to turn it in too a gooey tasteless lumps where I can't tell the prawn from the chicken. It used to be delicious and clean tasting. Very disappointing.

Food was cold delivery was at the wrong door they tried to make my neighbour pay for food which wasn't even ordered to him the staff couldn't care less there was more grease in my chicken and black bean then was there is in my oven not recommended at all

just had king prawn curry and the prawns were huge like dorstops on the downside it was packed with onions once the onions were taken out it left half the amount.
