Last minute quick bite and really hoped for great things, the meal fell short. We ordered ribs and chicken satay for starters. The Satay sauce was flavourless and the chicken was obviously cooked from frozen. The ribs were ok but not a lot of flavour Main course was a beef with black pepper, a bit tough but again a lack of flavour My wife had a red curry, this was quite hot (spicy) and passable but not a really memorable. The egg fried rice was pretty good and the best part of the meal. I do have to mention the music very strange for a Thai restaurant, direct from a wartime French cafe. Really bizarre! The lady server was friendly enough but the place lacked atmosphere. Sorry guys this felt like a restaurant on life support, at peak time on a Friday night only 3 tables being served. Sorry not one to recommend

Just had a delivery The jungle curry is basically water with 4 pieces of chicken and the beef and garlic with pepper wouldn't be enough to feed a two year old. At £12.45 a dish you would expect better First time and last time user Absolutely garbage Rubbish not Thai just water with 4 pieces of chicken just ripping customers off You should be ashamed On the upside uber eats refunded the cost of the so call food

I had a lovely meal, with great food and great service. I only marked down atmosphere because I was the only diner - which I actually liked, but didn’t create a buzzy space. I particularly enjoyed the gluten free options, which were limited at other restaurants in the area.

Sorry but I’ve been in Thailand and I know how a good pad thai should taste…the one I’ve got was completely bland, tasted like a sad spaghetti with tasteless tomato sauce and some onions…at least the service was good

Satay to start which was obviously microwaved chicken skewers. They were tough and not very flavoured. King prawn Chu Che curry was much better, good portion size of rice and prawn crackers. Service was good, however being a Tuesday eve there was no one else there so not much atmosphere.

This is not close to an authentic Thai restaurant - it's a shame that the food is so dull and flavour less - something has gone badly wrong here as it was empty at peak time on a Saturday...

Picked this based on good recent reviews when visiting Gloucester. We love Thai food and had high expectations but were left disappointed with the lack of flavour in the soups and the tamarind duck dish. They just tasted watered down. All noodle dishes were nice but again, nothing to write home about. And the 'Baileys' on the menu was a cheaper version of Irish coffee cream... The place is also so tired looking and full of weird printed messages, like mind your head, mind the step, etc, it completely lacked atmosphere. It wouldn't matter if the food blew your socks off but, sadly, that was not the case. Even the pleasant service did not rescue it for us. We won't be back.

We looked at a few places close by, but came back to Taste of Thai. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent and very good value. This was matched by the very friendly and attentive service. Can’t wait to come back!

I have used the restaurant and take away for years. Some times the food is brilliant, but it is not consistent. Last weekend I ordered a take away. The red prawn curry was fantastic, but the beef Penang was made with really cheap, tough, beef. The fish cakes starter were ace, but the prawns in batter were under cooked and soggy. If you get their best cooking you will be amazed, but it's not always delivered.

We just ordered and it was so good we wanted to write a review straight away! We got the satay chicken, massaman and jungle curry, pad thai and coconut rice and it was all so delicious and can't wait to order again and also eat in the restaurant when things open again! Thank you very much!

Can I just say that I have been to a lot of Thai restaurants and so far this has been the best. The accuracy of the Thai flavour compared to Thailand is remarkable and authentic. I loved the mushroom Tom Yum because the flavour is exactly how u expect it to taste like, and also the spring rolls where amazing. My mother and I shared the red and green curries, I particularly loved the red curry. My dad loved his chicken dish as well. To everyone who hasn’t tasted Thai food and wants to try it, I recommend this restaurant because you will taste the true taste of Thai food. :)

After very mediocre food and having to clear our own plates after our mains, we ordered dessert. The ice cream came but we were still waiting for 3 banana fritters. After the ice cream was served on our table that still hadn't been cleared, we were then told our table was booked and they gave us 15 mins to leave, despite us still waiting for the rest of our desserts. They did not tell us until now that the table was reserved and we had to be finished by a certain time. We were at the table for quite a while but this was not because we were taking our time, but rather because of the complete lack of service. After our mains we had to ask ourselves for dessert menus, clear the plates ourselves and were not waited on which is why we were so annoyed when we were told we had only 15 mins to eat and leave. Once we told them we would be leaving without having the desserts, it took another 15 mins for the bill to arrive which wasn't itemised and only had the food total, alcohol total and the two added together. The table that booked our table were left standing, hanging around for us to leave and were understandably as annoyed as we were. Terrible organisation, awful service and honestly pretty bland Thai food.

Todos los demás restaurantes en los que he estado han hecho un esfuerzo por espaciar las mesas.El servicio para un miércoles por la noche fue deficiente, 30 minutos después de la llegada antes de cualquier servicio / pedido.En un clima muy caluroso, las bebidas se necesitaban desesperadamente, pero dos camareros que intentaban cubrir un restaurante lleno me dejaron con la sensación de que estaban más preocupados por cambiar las mesas que por atender a los clientes que estaban presentes.La comida, aunque lenta, era excelente, pero el ambiente era muy pobre, soy consciente de que no era el único cliente que no estaba contento.Ni una sola vez durante nuestra comida nos preguntaron si todo estaba bien y pasé 20 minutos tratando de pedir otra bebida durante la comida, me di por vencido.Entiendo que salir a comer para ayudar ha cambiado las demandas de los restaurantes, lo que hace que estén ocupados en diferentes días, pero esto se sintió muy perjudicial para la noche.¡Realmente espero que se pueda mejorar el servicio y que mantener una buena calificación se pueda poner por encima de agarrar hasta el último centavo!

My wife and I ordered a takeaway which we picked up from the restaurant. The food was wonderful with good fresh vegetables that were not overcooked and it was very tasty. Would go back if I was in the area again

Disfrutamos mucho la comida y el servicio fue profesional y rápido (el lugar estaba casi vacío siendo un domingo por la noche). Teníamos un plato mixto que era encantador y curry tailandés. . . . No tengo quejas, lo recomendaría.

Visited this little gem on a quiet Tuesday evening for the first time. The food was fantastic and the hospitality was great. A slight mixup over the opening hours as it was advertised that it was open until 10:30 but they accommodated us so that we able to finish our delicious bottle of wine and to sample the desserts. My banana fritter and ice cream was fantastic. Will certainly be back.

On a Saturday before Christmas, the restaurant was only a third full. The food was ok, very average. The service was slow and no-one came back after we had been served our food. The prices were average. Wouldn't go back!

Excellent food, good service and good value. We are not from the area but were coming over to Gloucester to celebrate my wife and her son's birthday (both on the same day). We wanted somewhere central but not a boring chain restaurant. Taste of Thai menu was varied and managed to give all six of us a really excellent meal (plus the wine was exceptional value compared to the stuff we get in Chichester)

Brilliant buzzing atmosphere with plenty of excellent choices for food. The staff were attentive but not over-the-top and the service was quick! I would definitely recommend booking a table as it was in high demand when we visited !

The food is pretty good, and most of the staff were really polite. However, compared with other Thai restaurants that i have eaten in, it was noticeably more expensive. It's a shame because i would have gone back but i can get exactly the same food, at a much fairer price, elsewhere.

We came across this restaurant one evening when my partner and I fancied some Thai food. We had a wonderful experience. The hostess was very attentive and kind and the food was fresh and flavoursome. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere which made us nostalgic about our travels in Thailand. We returned again the following week and had another enjoyable meal. Thank you

If I were starving and out on my feet I would crawl past this restaurant looking for food. Appalling service, mediocre food at best, terrible staff attitude and an indifferent owner who lacks the ability to apologise to customers who are dissatisfied, walk on by.

worst experience. waited 45 minutes before being asked to order starters for table of 11 in empty restaurant . 20 minute wait on drinks. over two hours later and still no main meals starter plates left at table for 1 hour then when we wanted to pay for our starters only and drinks they locked doors and refused us the choice to pay for what we had and leave and wouldn't let anyone in. . we were then locked in the restaurant for nearly 30 minutes before they accepted our payment . really spoilt the evening . people were coming in after us and served before us wouldn't rate it one bit........... we waited over two hours and we were ready to pay for starters oand drinks . there was 11 of us . yet you say only 9 were ready. we asked where thwy where atleast 20 minutes before choosing to leave .then locked my friends because a table were waiting.. that's no excuse it was illegal what you did holding someone against their will. you wouldn't even let us in to see if they were ok. even local business owner was trying to get in to help my friends and you refused access . you may have been in business for over 13 years but I can't see it lasting much longer if you treat your customers like that. I've dined in god knows how many restaurants in over 20 years and never experienced anything like what happened that night you couldn't even get starters or drinks to our table without most of us waiting while the others had finished already.and yes police were called because we were the ones on the phone to them. how was there bullying . we asked for 20 percent off yes but were willing to pay you wanted us to pay everything . the bullying behave came from you and staff when you locked the doors

Where to start, we booked a table over a week in advance for a group of friends eleven of us in total. The table was booked for 7 o'clock in the evening and when we arrived the restaurant was virtually empty, it took 15 minutes before someone came to take our drinks order then another 20 minutes before we could get someone to take our starters order. By this time the restaurant had gradually become busier so we ordered the main courses before the starters had been served, when our starters eventually appeared they did not arrive at the same time which meant some people had finished theirs' before others in the group received their own, the food was mediocre at best. By now we had been at the table for well over an hour and the majority of the people who had come in after us had eaten their meals paid and left. We asked several times when the mains were going to be served and were simply told "they are on the way". Eventually at 20 past nine our patience had run out and after being in the restaurant now for over two hours and no mains in sight we decided to leave. Half of us left to go to a pub over the road and the others stayed to settle our bill for the drinks and starters, the staff demanded full payment including the mains which had still not been served, naturally the remaining group members refused to pay, the staff then locked the restaurant door and continued to demand full payment and refusing to let them leave the restaurant. They then threatened to call the police which our friends were delighted with and confirmed that we would only pay for what we had eaten and drunk and were well within our rights to refuse to pay for something not provided. Eventually the staff backed down and accepted the money for what we had actually received. Food mediocre, staff attitude and service ridiculous, will never be going to this establishment again and would recommend that groups over four find an alternative venue.

After ordering by phone I arrived to be told that it was another 20 minute wait with no real apology. Once the food was ready I was just told how much it was, no apology and nothing like free prawn crackers. The food we then got was certainly not hot and so terrible that not one of us wanted to eat it. The Thai green looked anaemic, the prawn crackers were stale and everything was just bad. We gave up and ordered something else. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I am not sure how they are still in business.

Having stayed in Gloucester we walked passed this restaurant a 100 times. We decided to give it a try. We immediately regretted not having been before. Service was friendly and super fast. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. If you visit the quays, this place is key.

Went to the restaurant on Saturday 28th July we didn't have a reservation. They found us a table, the food was fantastic only wish we lived nearer to enjoy the food more often.

We were at the restaurant for dinner on the 13th of May, 2018. We ordered Jasmine tea for 4 of us. The waiter said he will give us in a pot, we said ok. The pot came with 1 tea bag, when we asked for refill, the teapot came came back with the same tea bag. When the bill came it cost us 10£. Food was good but 10£ for tea.

We have been there several times. Like the informal atmosphere. Food is nothing exciting, but very good quality! If you like Thai curries I would recommend it!
