🍛 Congratulations to The Taste of India in Whitstable for winning this years 2024 Kent Curry Club of the year award. They have been presented with their award and was very Humble and excited when receiving it. We were even presented with beautiful cake for them. Which was very kind. Kent Curry Club has been going since 2017. We are a group of friends who wanted to explore the finest Curry houses across kent. It was formed because as we get older, with not being able to see friends as much, with work and family commitments, it’s the perfect excuse on the first Tuesday of every month to meet up have a catch up and eat a lovely curry at the same time. Each venue is rated and scored in its specific Categories. These are: * Starters * Main * CCKN (Chilli Cheese Keema Naan) * Service * Value For Money. Each Category is scored out of 10 by each Curry Club Member that attends. The highest and lowest score given in each category is erased and an average is found. Each category is added together to give an overall Score for the Curry House. We visited Taste Of India back in November and we was blown away by the quality of their food and service they provided. The generous portions sizes and their attention to detail made our experience outstanding. Taste of India scored an impressive 44.6/50 which is the highest score of any curry house we have ever visited. We revisit them to present them with their award on January 7th which was our 80th Curry Club and they didn’t disappoint. Actually beating their previous score with a very impressive 46/50. Which we thought was unthinkable. The winner of each year is revisited in January, where they are given another chance to win this prestigious award for the coming year. We also do a Summer Curry Club on the first Saturday in June when we travel a little further to find a hidden gem. We also do a Christmas Curry Club on the first Saturday in December where we visit a curry house at the famous Brick Lane in london. Thank you to Taste Of India for another outstanding night with you. It’s going to be hard for another curry house to beat you this year and I can definitely say you have great chance we will be seeing you next January. Thanks to all the staff and a special mention to the Manager, Matia Begum and the Owner Masum Ahmed. They use the same Chef everyday apart from Mondays and you will always get High Quality cooked food. I am also revisiting it tonight

This is a review for a takeaway order on 01/01/25 Chicken tikka (starter) - no taste, no spices just red food colouring Lamb Sheek kebab (starter) - nice Chicken tikka curry (main) - no flavours stood out, same chicken as the starter obviously so the meat was bland and the base curry (sauce) was edible but again no distinct flavours. Vegi Rice - nice but under seasoned which was easy to fix. Payment - their website clearly states 10% off on collection orders. When I went to pay with the card they said this was on cash only. I didn’t have any cash but also the website doesn’t state that term so it’s very naughty to advertise falsely. I wouldn’t go again, the dishes I ordered are not authentic.

Just had our Christmas dinner and it was amazing. All three courses our first time out for Christmas meal. We thoroughly enjoyed it, staff couldn’t do enough for us . Thank you so much

Fantastic food, didn’t find it oily or too heavy. Customer service was top notch. Fast becoming a regular fixture for us!

Ordered a takeaway meal from Taste of India. Prompt, ready for collection and very tasty food. Would recommend, eat in or takeaway.

Ein kleines, niedliches Restaurant, in dem es schon mal "eng" werden kann, wenn alle Tische besetzt sind. Sympathische Mitarbeiter. Das Essen war recht preiswert und geschmacklich okay. Allerdings habe ich schon besser indisch gegessen.

We had a lovely meal at this cosy restaurant and it was very reasonably priced. The service was excellent. The tandoori chicken tikka was delicious and moist. Recommended.

A disappointing meal. All the food was tepid when served and the meat in both curry dishes was dry and overcooked.The lamb meat was dry,tikka type meat even though the menu didn't state this.Chicken satkora was not very flavoursome. Side dishes were ok but again barely warm. The staff seemed obsessed with checking if the food was good to which we replied "its ok".That was the issue,it was just ok. As the meal was below par on many levels we couldn't see the point of complaining,standards are obviously not that high. Another annoying thing was the waiters insisted on constantly walking up & down the restaurant creating a very unrelaxing atmosphere especially as the restaurant is very tight on space.

Very disappointed as the poppadoms are the same old nonsense, stale, reheated and dry. How much trouble is it to cook them fresh in a fryer. Dips were okay. Some things were okay like naan, rice, and prawn puri starter. Then things take a dive again with the curry, which is rather important. Asked for a lamb balti but the meat was cheap, tough, lamb tikka with smokey barbecue taste. I didn't want a tikka balti as this meat obviously gets used for anything with lamb. It's a shame because staff were very pleasant and even offered a complimentary liqueur at the end of meal. Ultimately it was an unsatisfying experience and forgettable, so I won't be returning.

We were passing through Whitstable in our motorhome and managed to park near Taste of India. We were given a warm welcome by the staff and received excellent service. The food, particularly my fish, was delicious and the portions were generous. Will return next time we are in the area.

Amazing, best food I ever tasted, great service and lovely people serving, always so accommodating. The food is out of this world taste is excellent. Best curry in whitstable I wouldn’t go anywhere else staff amazing too

We went on weekday evening but the place was busy and i think we were lucky to get a table, so i would recommend booking. The staff were extremely polite and very helpful. The food was excellent and the portion sizes very good.

Best Indian in Whitstable by a mile. Food is so nice and portions so generous. 2nd time I've been and will be back soon Masum great manager

We had a lunchtime dinner which was excellent. Extremely polite staff and very helpful. Cool environment. Food was excellent and very enjoyable. The owner is Masoon who was very welcoming too. Would highly recommend for any time of day.
