Fantastic food, plenty of fresh vegetables in the Cantonese sweet and sour sauce. Best I've had in a long while.

Lovely and hot nice salt and pepper box!! Would order it with sweet and sour sauce next time. Plenty for 2 people.

Curry was so salty that it was inedible. Poured it over my food and everything had to go in the bin. First and last time ordering. So disappointed, I’ve tried to get a refund but just eat won’t let me.

Not impressed tbh, the main dish was ok, but the salt n pepper chips were poor, felt very reheated and rubbery ,spice was about correct but very little onions, peppers etc ...considering s and p chips are expensive for what they are i,d expect better

Been ordering from here for about 18month . Never had a bad experience.. majority of the time I order Szechuan bean curd .. which is always amazing but today it was slightly oily and tasted greasy.. but my boyfriends meal was perfect

Just had a special curry chips rice onion rings and beef mushrooms and chips was told be half hour 40 mins came after 10 min chips was rock hard inedible beef chewy and horrible all went in bin wot a waste of 27 pounds never again

Best Chinese since moving out of york

This is the only Chinese we use. It’s the best there is in the Pontefract area. The food is always spot on. It seems everyone else thinks so too, which is why delivery has taken up to 2 hours on occasions. So be prepared to wait! I do find it very expensive, particularly for the delivery charge. We live close to Pontefract town centre and the place is in Knottingley, so not too far. However, 6 pound something for a delivery charge, when ordering from their website?? Far too much. We won’t be ordering as much now.

Food was cold and over a hour late

I ordered all vegetarian dishes, including vegetarian Singapore noodles. they sent chicken and shrimp ones. Applied for a refund on Just Eat and got ignored. Waste of £7. The rest of the food was tasty though, and they arranged delivery after I accidentally selected the wrong option.

Food was good and arrived in good time we had some items missing but the driver returned straight away with the missing items (genuine mistake) but was soon rectified

Food is always delicious.. and we always receive a bag of free prawn crackers .. on today’s order I ordered an extra portion of prawn crackers as they are always a big hit with the family.. but we only received the one paid portion.. I think it’s a little bit cheeky charging £3.80 for a bag of crackers when they usually send out them as a freebie with your order…

Great tasting food, having tried a different Chinese takeaway in the town, the food was far superior in taste and quality. the food was ready on time when I collected and the girl behind the counter was friendly and polite. We've not long moved to the area and are happy we have now found our Chinese takeaway we'll be coming back to time and time again in the future!

This place is shocking I ordered a meal and waited for it to be delivered for 2 hours and when i called to check on this on the phone the staff was very rude and talked to me like she's doing me a favour! Too expensive and not worth the hassle I will never go back to this place !!

I had to ring to find out where my order was after waiting AN HOUR AND 45 mins i got told it was on its away 25 mins later it turns up. The bloke who handed me my food was so polite with a nice grunt, guessing to say thank you and have a good meal. Oh boy i was wrong, opened up the bag of Chinese to find out that i had HALF a portion of s&p chicken. I proceeded to phone the shop back up to tell me there nothing could do about it and to contact just eat(which could take working days) ON A THURSDAY

Superb food! Lovely fresh ingredients with non of the stodgy greasy features of some establishments. The vegetables were cooked beautifully. A Taste of China never disappoints. Their takeaway food is always hot and ready to serve

First time ordering from here bloody lovely will be ordering again

Ordered tonight and the food turned up cold. I rang and was offered replacement food which I accepted. Nearly another hour in and no food and was told the boss wasn’t replacing the food and will refund. I give them their due he brought the refund round promptly but told us never to order from them again. Sad night because food has always been top notch from these prior to this. Obviously will never order again on their own recommendation. Disappointed to have to write this comment. Was willing to accept replacement but was told we were no longer welcome to place orders.

Just about the worst meal I've had from a takeaway in my life. Crispy chicken total inedible all when in the bin .

Ordered from here last night they do an absolutley amazing salt and pepper share box came quick and the food was fresh on arrival would 100% would recommend great food at a great price.

What awful service exspected to wait 2 hours for delivery asked for a refund and have to wait 5 to 7 working days for refund so had to go with out food after 13 hour shift should be ashamed DONT ORDER FROM HERE unless you order when they first open

Responce to your imature atitude to the D.Boyd review, you know exaclty what we are talking about as i called and you stated 1 and a halve hours minimum for delivery, and your atitude was shocking on the phone, I'm shocked you still have customers, there is only 1 taste of china in Knottingley

Lovely food. Took ages to get to us, but shows how popular it must be. Can't comment on the atmosphere as it was a delivery.

Ordered chicken curry take away. Very sweet with no spice, and very expensive. Enough said. Won’t be going back anytime soon. Even charge for going on line, your bag, and service !!!

The food is great!! Plus they must store your number so when you call they call you by your name, its lovely and personal. Staff are lovely too.

Chicken curry was nice, rice was nice, the soup was nice too but given 3 stars as the rolls tasted grease and moldy and had to throw them away.

Absolute S##T show ordered lastnight at 7pm was told 1and a half to 2 hrs waiting time we agreed nearly 3hrs after ordering and 2 phone calls still no food and further waiting as nowhere has ever been over 3hrs behind local to us not ever !!! No apology nothing so cancelled won't ever book again or recommend them to anyone

Tonight was the first time we've used a Taste of China and it didn't disappoint. We've tried various Chinese takeaways and our usual has gone downhill so we took gamble here and we are so glad we did. The small munch box was lovely, lot's to choose from and was an ideal starter (for three) and the mains were very tasty. The batter on the sweet and sour chicken was light and not stodgy and the chicken curry was tasty with lots of chicken. We will be ordering again.

Bitter sweet really so I will start with the positives there food is nice. But afraid that's where it ends told 60 minutes delivery. 2 and a half hours later still no sign rang several times the lady on the phone was rude. If your short on staff or generally busy tell your customers it will be 2 3 hours for delivery. Really annoyed

Worst Chinese ever had, overpriced, loads of onions & peppers and very little meat- had 3 different dishes all terrible, prawn toast burnt and probably re fried from previous night! Special noodle dish looked and tasted like super noodles overdone with under cooked broccoli, loads of onion overcooked and tiny bits of chicken. Tried to telephone to provide feedback but line busy!

Since my last fav Chinese closed "First Wok" in Featherstone, i had no idea who would become my next top Chinese. That is, until i tried this food from the Taste of China. Since i came here the food has been spot on. I think i would truly like to say, that even if First Wok was still open today, i think this place would of easily bumped it off my first place. Best Chinese around by far, 5 stars.

Wow it's was fantastic. It was a treat for my daughter's 18th and we all enjoyed all the food it came piping hot and was a great end to the celebrations in lockdown. Thank.you so much .

Waited ages for delivery, phoned to be told she doesn't know how much longer it will be. Could t eat it when it arrived. The seaweed was far too sweet, could see the sugar. Special in black bean sauce was bland. It was chewy meat in in tasteless mucky colours water. £20 just to eat some prawn crackers ffs

Just eaten special fried rice and curry sauce, absolutely delicious. The curry sauce was just right, fruity and spicy... yummy!

Good food friendly staff fast service

Had a takeaway from here twice. Both times made me really poorly. Put it down to coincidence the first time until the second time where the whole family got ill. Avoid at all costs its not worth the belly trouble afterwards.

Ordered chop suey came with no noodles, aswell as salt and pepper chicken and all I got was chicken, rang up and was told that's how it's made, they make salt and pepper chicken without the salt and pepper on it, the chips are burnt, the biggest problem was they didn't even bother to try and solve problem not going there again

I ordered a house special fried rice and sweet and sour chicken balls from here, and I have no complaints! It isn't my favourite Chinese takeaway, but there's nothing wrong with it so I am rating five stars for on-time delivery and delicious food.

Always great quality love the duck curry with rice love the chicken with gravy and the hot box is great too

I ordered 2 noodle boxes, in my sweet box I found prawns (should go without)and just 5 pieces of meat, combo box taste like soap, broccoli carrots been hard, 2 prawns in box 1 piece of pork and beef, 2 pieces of chicken, rest just onions and noodles. It’s been terrible. Never order again. I don’t recommend for anybody

Very nice food, good hygiene so far (one of the only Chinese takeaway places in Knottingley I haven't found a pubic hair in the meal) my only criticism is sometimes there's an accent barrier for example I ordered a large chips and curry and received a small, at least I hope that was classed as small.

Great Chinese food in Knottingley.

Chicken is awful- it's like jelly- feels raw to eat- better quality chicken needed. I don't feel very well and to top it off there was a hair in my food. Sticking to golden dragon from now on.

After purchasing sweet and sour chicken and fried rice with chips on Monday evening, I then spent the next day vomiting repeatedly, unable to even keep fluids down. I know it is a case of food poisoning from this place as I had not eaten anything else out of the ordinary. I have been off work too and lost earnings. Beware when ordering from this place!
