I ordered the munching box for £21.99. The food arrived within the 45minute timescale but unfortunately, the rice was dry, they forgot to put pepper on the salt and pepper chicken and chips, the sweet and sour sauce was vinegary and the meal overall just tasted salty and of nothing else. I would've rated less stars but due to the price, I was a little more generous. I won't be ordering from here again.

...for the second week running. The duck was hard to find in their Roast Pork/Duck dish last week. This week, the Chicken in batter had been stood, not crispy, sauce was gloopy, the salt n pepper chips were just expensive chips. Rating 4/10

Ordered at 7:15. Nothing for an hour so called at 8:15 to be told it would be 15 min. Nothing turned up until 9pm nearly 2 hours after I ordered. Then opened my order curry but no chips. Called again to be told 15 mins for driver to get back to shop and they will deliver the chips. So do I wait for my curry to go cold while i wait on the chips coming 😂 it’s less than a mile to my house from them. It wasn’t even a big order.

First time ordering from here and will be the last. I ordered a special foo young with chips and curry sauce, plus special chop suey, free prawn crackers. Everything ended up in the bin. A waste of food and a waste of money.

My husband & I love this Chinese takeaway. We are very lucky to live close by, so our meal is always ready in 10 minutes. The food is always crispy, piping hot & tasty. Top picks: Prawn Toast Salt & Pepper Chicken Crispy Chilli Beef Chips, rice & curry sauce. My husband says they are so friendly too (I don't know, I'm lazy & just wait for the food).

My wife and I order from here semi regularly as we've found its the best chinese in the area. The staff are always really nice and we're always eating within 20 minutes of ordering

Phoned 4 times. Nothing turned up after 90 minutes. It's only 2 miles away and the person working there just lied every time I called, 3 minutes, 3 minutes. When it did turn up the pork was cold and soggy but the chicken soup was red hot. Figure that out. I know people suffer service issues but just tell the truth.

Where do I start, absolutely horrible. The delivery drivers not a delivery driver and will not come to the door so it is a good job we were outside in the front garden. The portion sizes are pitiful, so so small. And the food tasted old and chewy. The spare ribs were so inedible and scraggly that my dogs wouldn't touch them. The food looked like it had been half eaten already, maybe the taxi driver got hungry on the way haha. It is a shame that this place is dead as this was the place my parents took me when i was a little girl.

Best chinese food in the area. I've actually switched from fortune House, shumi, and this is 100% the best chinese takeaway around. Brilliant 👏

Worst Chinese in all ov pontefract stay well clear

So sad to see this place in such decline. Lived near it for years and when everything moved to digital money they decided to stay cash only. At one point they got a card machine so I thought I could just pop in and get food some times. But then it went down again. Finally had some cash and the Chips Rice and a Sauce they're charging £5! Never again unfortunately it's just-eat only for me.

Extremely upset with the service tonight! Used this Chinese for a long Time. Never had a problem. Spent £30+ this evening! Food can only be described as Inedible & portion size laugable. Really hate to publicly complain but spoke to the owners & couldn't resolve as refund isn't an option & we won't be ordering again. Such a shame! Lesson learnt.

Will never eat from here again..food was really bland..the beef did not taste rite an the chips had NOT just been cooked.. they taste like they were cooked days ago an reheated...

Ordered an hour and a half in advance so I knew it would be on time as it was accompanying a dish I'd made. It was late??Had a joke about the lateness of the delivery and in response I got "well ya said 5 past 🤬"!!!!! It was 25 past. CUSTOMER LOST AFTER 9 YEARS OF ORDERING.

Shocking! Placed an order to be told it would be 30 to 45 mins till arrival & my order never arrived.

Excellent curry! Loads of meat & super 'hot' sauce. Could have used a few more prawn crackers though!

Love this place always go here but sometimes depending on wot u get it does taste different, but still really yummy. They have got different cooks now apparently but I tried their sweet n sour pork and it was delicious, just need to try their other things. Been this place loads of times but cos they have different cooks some of the food may of changed in taste. Also they have a new menu so there has been some new food items that have been put on there. Can't wait to try the food and everything again. :)❤

We tried this take away for the first time in many years and I wish I hadn't bothered. Our food when it arrived was cold, the salt n pepper mixed starter was very disappointing the chicken was chewy and tastes like it had been re-cooked, the batter on the onion rings were too thick and soggy, the chips also tasted like they had been re-cooked. My chow mein had no sauce, what is all that about, I since realised after re-reading the menu that they have both dry chow mein and with sauce, so my question is why didn't they ask me which one I wanted?? 😕 Needless to say I won't be ordering from there again!

Orderd food for the family and they sai d it would be 1 hour wait for delivery waited over 1 hour 30 minutes so rang up to find out that they hadn't even started cooking our meals terrible service as it took over 10 minutes to answer the phone

We use this Chinese alot but tonight was the worst Chinese we have ever had from there it was freezing cold and chicken in the curry had a rubbery taste we had plated it up so couldn't take it back but when I rung them back I got told the was really busy and I told it wasn't edible was Chinese was in back ground saying what fo you want to do and would give me one free dish next time what I think you should do is sort your business out and go back the curry sauce you used and treat your paying regular customers right my bill was 26 pound witch went in the bin will have to think long and hard if I will use them again disgusting service

Awful food, awful service! Food arrived with 2 items missing, the duck starter was honestly one of the worse things I've eaten and looked like it was weeks old, rang to complain and was told the boss would return our call but never did!!! Dont waste your money, wont be ordering again.

Rubbery noodles, sticky flavourless rice, stringy rubber chicken, not great for first time customers new to the area, very disappointing.

Terible First thing, asked for 3 cokes and 1 diet. 2 n 1 diet came. Asked for bbq ribs, were like in gravey and were luke warm. Rice was sloppy, i can make way better. Chow mein was nasty. 1 star for the spring rolls they wernt bad.

Been ordering from here for a while with no problems but I ordered beef noodles and they tasted off , when I phoned them to complain they said there is nothing they can do which is not good enough . Won’t order from them again which is a shame but very poor customer service.

Waited 2 hour for a delivery. Only to be told that the driver couldnt find us( its not hard). Then had reheated food sent back out to us terrible just terrible use shumi not these jokers!!

Wow. I never expected the food to be so bad. The sweet and sour chicken was chewey and tasted old like it was cooked last week. The chips again tasted like they had been cooked days before! The fat in the fryer clearly needs changing. The noodles were mushy and soggy. The whole experience was very disappointing. I did not enjoy the food at all. I would not recommend this Chinese.

This is from my 10year old son who enjoys the food so much he asked if he could write a review. One of the best Chinese takeaways around and he says the service is great.

We always have Chinese from here really good quality and reasonable on price the best take away in West Yorkshire by far rated myself at 10 out of 10

Vat girl wo nice, beansprouts were bangin.

Discussded by the food and by the workers not helpful at all and food was not cooked properly and tasted off and workers would not give us our money back!!

Delicious!!!! Best Chinese food I have had in a long time. Spring Rolls are to die for!!!! We had Chicken Chow Mein, young chow fried rice and Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls. All were scrumptious :)

Ordered here for twenty years never had a problem, alway nice food, tasty, friendly staff, Curry is best in town and so is the salt and pepper dishes, I’ve recommended to friends and family and none have been disappointed

My favourite is the special mixed box. A little bit of everything in one handy container. Portions very generous: the special box did me two meals.

Have used this take-away for many years and not had a bad meal untill tonight ! Collected an order and when i got home the chips were sodden with grease ! Took my order back for a replacement and when i got home it was worse than the first order i had ! Asked for a refund of my order and was told i could just have the money back for the chips! I had an excellent meal from Pearl Dragon today. Sweet and Sour chicken. The chef happily customised the dish to suit my taste, swapping one veg for another. Singapore fried rice. Spicy and delicious. Sweet and sour ribs. Ok, so I have a sweet tooth 😆 Happy courteous staff. Excellent English. I will go again, and I recommend you do to.

absolute rubbish. ordered tonight from the online menu only to be charged an extra £10 more , called to quirey this and was spoke to very cocky by someone who couldnt care at all that ive been wrongly charged and told " WELL IF YOU LOOK WE DONT PUT THE MENU ONLINE" i normally order every week but wont be ordering again and niether will my friends or family. plz be aware.

We have ordered from here for over 10 years and never had a bad meal! And all the staff are lovely, we try other takeaways and always come back to this one.

We were passing this establishment when we both decided to partake of a meal and ordered the Chicken Curry with Pawn Toast, Egg Fried Rice and Onion Rings. Where does one start just writing this review is making my mouth water, the Chicken Curry was to die for proper chicken none of your frozen rubbish and my husband was well made up as the onion rings were proper home made not the frozen rubbish. Will we go back yes we will.

Second time in a month to order curry here still been very nice. The sauce was thick and tasty we so addicted but veg more will be better.

Segunda vez en un mes que pedí una para llevar a 4 personas, cuesta £50. En ambas ocasiones la entrega fue más tarde de lo prometido por 20 minutos tarde y el lugar está a sólo 5 minutos de mi casa! Me dieron uno de los platos mal y varios de los platos de comida no eran de buena calidad o cantidad de carne, recocido o simplemente no es tan sabroso. En la segunda ocasión les dije sobre el error de primera orden y les había leído la orden de volver a mí, pero aun así me trajeron un plato malo con su mensajería. Después de usar la Perla del dragón para 10-12 años, no voy a hacer uso de ellas más!.

Se llama en camino a casa del trabajo para un llevar, ordenados carne, tomate y dos porciones de arroz frito. ¡Qué asco! La carne estaba tan duras como las botas cuero viejo, y el arroz frito estaba empapado en salsa de soja, además del arroz también tenía un extraño gusto, así que ¡no sé si eso es por qué tanta salsa de soja se añadió para disfrazar el horrible gusto. Sin duda no será volver en cualquier lugar en el futuro. Calidad de la comida utilizada ha empeorado!

My experience of this place has always been positive. The location isn't great, just outside the town centre in a terraced house so you certainly can't stumbled in after your night out! But they deliver anyway, so that's not a problem for me. The couriers are very friendly and the prices are reasonable. We all know what to expect with takeaways, and this place is no different really. I usually have chicken and mushroom with egg fried rice. This place probably serves the best chicken and mushroom I've found in the local area! Large portion sizes, and a lovely thick sauce with chunky veg (carrots, etc.) included! Can't complain really, a very good standard take away if you ask me! And I certainly can't say I've experienced my food being delivered to me cold!

Called here as I had been working late in Knottingley .First time and last. Waited for about 30 mins and can honestly say as soon as I got home I threw it away. I got chicken chow mien and it was obviously frozen pieces of chicken from Aldi or farm foods and noodles. nothing else-no veg no sauce-nothing. Wife got chicken foo yung- same frozen chicken and egg-nothing else. Utter crap. Don't go here its a waste of money. Girl behind counter couldn't have been less friendly or courteous. Id rather go hungry.

It's a Chinese take away in a terraced house. It has 200 menu items. It does all the usual things you would expect and the food is as good as you you would expect.It's OK just OkIt delivers though so ideal choice after a few beers.

Bad customer service. Cold food. No refunds given without massive arguement, used the place 17 plus years and 1st time I've ever complained about cold food. Told go away and phone put down on me... Stead clear people. Cold chicken breads bacteria....

We've been going to the Pearl Dragon for years nowbecause we know that we'll get a delicious Chinese meal.The food is consistently good and the curries are superb!Can get busy, but the staff are really friendly and it's alwayswell worth the wait. Do yourself a favour and give it a try.

Cant say what rest of the dishes are like but the ribs are shocking. Ordered 2 portions on my 1st and only visit, and their the worst Ive ever had. If you like eating 20p worth of meat per portion go ahead, fatty bone city!!

this Chinese takeaway is well worth a visit, extensive menu, clean and tidy waiting area, reasonably priced, food perfectly cooked. I have visited several Chinese take aways in the area, this is way far the Best.
