My son and his girlfriend ordered from these, from uber eats, it took a hour and a half to arrive, when tried to phone up no answer or cancelled the phone call, when it eventually arrived I asked the driver why did it took so long and is it still warm he said he didn’t now and drove off. They said the food was ok but wouldn’t order again

We use Lucky Star regularly. Ignore the reviews from years ago... The food is spot on. The service is fast and polite. They're nice people who do a great job, so don't forget to tip them!

This is a very good takeaway, we haven't used here for a few years with moving further away but now I'm living back round here glad to use Lucky star again. The delivery was very quick and the food was amazing,4 of us ate and all really enjoyed it. It's the best curry we've had in a few years.

We've got a takeaway away from here a couple of times and never been disappointed. I've always visited (as opposed to calling for a delivery). Between ordering the food and it being ready it doesn't take long. I would highly recommend.

Food is good, prices a little high. That would be ok, but there is so little In the way of vegetables. Water chestnuts, beansprouts, bamboo shoots, whatever happened to them?

Food is absolutely gorgeous from here! Not to be confused with a different takeaway that seems to not be very good. 100% recommend!

The food was cold the chips were soggy and full of chilli flakes and I asked for sale and pepper also curry sauce and noodles were bland and to top it off I ordered jam rolls polly and it was Swiss roll

Ordered a salt and pepper munchie box, it was very very bland, the ribs tasted the same as the egg fried rice which tasted of nothing! Never had a takeaway which had no taste to it, awful. Ordered extra chow mein noodles, also bland.

Literally like trying to eat my own bed socks , lack of sauce on noodles , 1 single prawn in the frozen spring roll , old oil made me ill for a week , would only recommend if I was stood out side and the world was ending an I had five mins to live even then I’d try run home an eat the pet rabbit .. would not recommend , sorry but 1star

Very quick delivery service, best dry spare ribs I've had and the prawn toast actually tastes of prawn, I won't use anywhere else.

Came 2 hours later than said and was cold and absolutley vile felt ill after also had bars all over chicken

Took two hours to come and when it did it was soggy through the bag and coated in chilli to distract from the hairs festering underneath, overall made me want to kms x

I ordered food from here and it came with chillis on it which I did not ask for and when u rang I got told it’s not spicy and just pick the chillis off even tho it was all over the chicken and that they would bring a new order and hung up

Always lovely. They could work on their customer service occasionally but we try others and always come back here. Super quick and good quality ingredients.

First time I've ordered from Lucky Star. The food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning.

I ordered two meals at 5pm told it would be 40 minutes at 6pm no meals rang they said another 10 mins finally got out meals at 6.30pm only to find the meals were cold my chicken breast had been cut in two places l could see it was hard on top absolutely disgusting, my husband rang them telling them it was cold and over cooked we took the food back and got a refund never use them again.

Used this place a few times in 2019 and really enjoyed the food.However, 2020 is a different story. Ordered through Just Eat last weekend and was given a delivery time of 45 minutes. It turned up 2 hours later. No apology, just excuses when we rang to find out where the order was. Tonight, got a delivery time of 1 hour 10 minutes. We know up front it’s going to be a long wait, so we’re ok with that. It’s our choice to wait that long.Delivery time came and went. Told it would be another 25 minutes.Still waiting.Once, I can pass off as just a bad experience. But two weeks running. Time to find somewhere new! Hungry and disgusted.

Ordered to eat at work and asked for this to be delivered for 22.30pm. It arrived in reception at 21.00pm and was turned away. I contacted them and she apologized and asked if I wanted it at 22.30pm and I said I didn't want the same one sending back.Anyway the chips returned cooked to a crisp, the squid was like rubber and the meal was clearly re heated.Will not order from here again.

This has to be the worst meal I have ever had! Absolutely diabolical, So bland in taste, watery vermicelli, tasteless and just like slop! Meat was like rubber, only about ten chips, and the curry had popped as the carton had melted so it was everywhere. Everything is now in the bin, I wouldn’t feed it to my dog! It’s embarrassing that someone can serve this and expect someone to eat it when I called to complain the excuses were ridiculous, No way of getting our money back, What an absolute waste of money! Never in my life will I be ordering from this place again, It has to be the worst meal iv ever bought! Avoid like the plague people

Got to say, I’m surprised by how busy this place is having visited it 4 times in a month and yet so little reviews and the ones that there are are not the best.Black bean and green peppers, tried chicken, beef and vegetable (so wife could try it as she is vegetarian) and it’s been spot on every time. Tried the sewer and sour Cantonese, brilliant! Tried the chips in salt n pepper and wow, I wasn’t expecting them in batter but they were gorgeous. The fried rice is good as are the chips.My dishes have been limited I admit but I can say that what I’ve had has been just right

Ordered ribs and salt and pepper chicken to start followed by chicken curry and chicken balls. Ribs were dry and fatty. Salt and pepper chicken was dry and greasy. Curry was watery. Chicken balls were mostly batter. Drinks were warm and didnt bother opening the prawn crackers as we could see the condensation in the bag. Would not recommend. There are better takeaways in the area

Usually go to Poons in Methley but closed so got delivery tonight from Lucky Star. Was quick, hot, friendly delivery driver and was just as good as Poons if not better! Sweet and sour tasty and full of chicken! Would recommend

Good traditional Chinese takeaway food.

Starters were lovely however the dishes we ordered were very disappointing sauces were very watery and half the container was onions.

I have ordered from here a few times now and I always enjoy the food. Recently I tried the salt and pepper chips and they are brilliant. I haven’t eaten chips in years but these you must try.

Just had a meal from here and although the food was ok the portions were so much smaller, I would say by at least 20% less but same price.My husband was still hungry after his meal which is very unusual when we have ordered from here before.They used to always throw in a bag of prawn crackers too .Think it will be a while before we go again.

I've ordered a few times and its hit and miss. When I go for just rice or the special mix rice/chips with a sauce its fine. When we ordered salt and pepper chips they're battered which is odd, the seafood I'd avoid.

The food took an hour and half, was lukewarm and flavourless. Will never eat there again!!!! Chow mein was like water, asked for crispy noodles and they were soggy and the crispy seaweed was mushy!!!!!

I rang up, the woman was rude to me on the phone. I decided not to go. Can't comment on the food as never ended up having any!

Went here a a recommendation by a friend. Since that time we use it nearly every weekend. Food is A1 standard and staff are really helpful. Value for money it's second to none.

Tenía un viajero frecuente poner a través de la puerta hace unas semanas desde el Lucky Star diciendo bajo nueva dirección, así que pensé intentarlo. Debo decir que la comida que pedí estaba impecable y la comida llegó 30 minutos más temprano que la citada. Con esto en mente he tenido otro tome distancia y este también fue excelente tanto en calidad (pollo satay) y entrega a un gran precio con sólo £1 gastos de envío, pero no como defecto.

Keep to the golden rule of dry dishes and this place works. No gloopy sauces and really great taste. I keep forgetting thought hat the Large Pancake Roll should read large Beansprout roll. Instead stick with the normal spring rolls. These aren't as good as they once were and are soggy.

Forgot £5 worth of food, food swimming in the sauce, charged for fillet steak when only got normal beef, got about 7 peas with the sausage meal.

I don't really know who's at fault but if I had ordered straight from takeaway we wouldn't have paid a delivery charge. Also for the amount we had bought we would have received 2 freebies. But what we did get was the driver asking if we had ordered pop then asking for us to pay for the meal again. We had paid when we had ordered and didn't ask for any pop and didn't know if it was part of an offer nothing was said. Infact there wasn't even any prawn crackers which I cant remember the last time these weren't give out. As for the meal itself it was average at best.

A new chef and the food has improved massively, it is now superb. Just a shame that if you order on Just Eat you don't get the freebies that you do by ordering direct........

Don't bother.. after an hour and half of waiting and ringing.. the driver went to the wrong address then brought us apparently chicken in ok sauce which was more like ketchup (no taste) and then just to insult further gave the wrong change , and I'm not a moaner

Requested a delayed time and they delayed by a further 10 mins it to their credit, it arrived exactly when they said it would. Really tasty food, but the sauces were really thick and none of it was piping hot. Well priced, great range of food.

We had a long wait for our food. The starters were lovely, however we orded a Thai red curry and we were given a chinese curry. Shame as dispute the long wait the starters were lovely. Sadly the fact we waited that long and then got the wrong order was disappointing.

Ordered at 10pm and confirmed at 10.07 pm . Then order delayed until 11.15 pm . Rang restaurant they told me 10 minutes more then food wasn't delivered until 11.48pm . Refused the order and asked for refund at which point I had to get dressed and drive down to get my monies refunded . Absolutely disgusting service and the cheeky blighters even posted online it was delivered at 11.15 . Just goes to show if there not receiving cold hard cash there not bothered about customer service and if you've ordered from just eat you will be last in line # disguted

It doesn't matter who is the chef on any particular day. Every meal is always perfect. As a chef myself, I know how difficult it is to get every service perfect if not good. These chefs can be proud of the excellent standard they deliver time after time. I have recommended this takeaway to my son, who dislikes Chinese meals. But he orders from the Lucky Star, while travelling up the A1. So his meal is ready when he arrives, and starts his visit off on the right footing. 5Stars all along.

Chicken was tough. Chow Mein was to oily

1hr 20mins wait in total,40mins after stated time. Had to ring to chase. No apology on call or delivery. However food piping hot, large quantity, good value and overall okay quality.

Order confirmed at 9.58 with an expected delivery time of 10.45. It actually arrived a few minutes before midnight. We chased it around 11pm and were told it was on its way - clearly it wasn't. Previously this place has been good, never ordering from them again. In customer service, mistakes are forgivable, being lied to is not acceptable.

We have given this takeaway another try with the view it may have improved, but unfortunately not. Yet again another hour and 50 mins wait to get luke warm food. This was the last chance, I'm afraid no more chances.

Order has been approved at 19.21 and it is still not delivered at 9pm. Wouldn't order anymore as not even got a call and apologies for the delay!

Chow mein was awful! It was all noodles not one bit of vegetables or onions just a few chunks of meat. Do not order that. Also salt and pepper chips were very soggy! Disappointed

It's great value for money and decent Chinese food. Is it the absolute best of the best. Perhaps not. But it is really great value in comparrison to other local Chinese takeaways. Enough said.
