Tarla in Stevenage

We celebrated our friends birthday that day and we received such a lovely welcome and the service was outstanding. Our waiter was Navzat. Him and all staff were so amazing and all of us, especially the birthday girl felt so special. The food was great, atmosphere lovely, the decor inside feels really warm and cozy. We will definitely be coming back again soon. Anna

This is a very busy restaurant. Food was very good even though quite pricey. We felt we were being rushed to order all of our food in one hit. My advice is order your starters , when you are finished have a drink and then order your mains. Apart from anything else, you do need 15 minutes between courses or you won't finish your meal. Great buzz about the place and obviously worth higher than normal prices as it was heaving. You must book in advance.

Loved the food, the place was packed with customers, so much to do for the staff so there were some delays with the food. We were a big group though. Enjoyed the evening and would definitely recommend it

Restaurant was understandably quite quiet on a Sunday at 6pm, but food was excellent and the service was friendly and professional. Ate Mixed Fish Kebab which was really tasty. Salmon, monkfish and prawns.

First time visiting Tarla , with my partners parents who invited us out for brunch. Greeted by overly attentive yet never bothersome friendly staff, who throughout the entire meal were superb in asking how the meal was, if we'd like drinks topped up, bringing more breads and dips to the table and every other wonderful formality you'd expect from dining out in an establishment that is obviously very proud of it's food, staff and dining experience that they provide. The chefs were on form as the food sent out was flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Every meal I ate was simply sublime (the lamb beyti is a must have...wow!) and i could have eaten double. On that, the portion size is spot on and the selection of starters and mains will have your mouth watering as you read through the menu. If you haven't already visited Tarla i would recommend that you pay a visit to this wonderous little gem of stevenage. Had lunch here and it was really tasty. The reason for bot getting 5 stars is that the chicken wrap was burned on the outside and it overpowered the flavour of the rest of the meal.

This a great place for Turkish food. All yhe staff specially Iranian waiter were very friendly and the service was great. The food was fresh and the portion size of the platter was very good and you may struggle to finish it if you are light eater. The decor of the place was immaculately nice. This place is a must try. We enjoyed the sauces and Their Musaka was very extremely delicious as well it is clear they make it fresh! Overall, a great outstanding restaurant to dine out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A little bit on a pricier end, but the service and atmosphere you've got makes it worth a visit. Cozy, great quality lighting and ambience they've created. Food is nice, nicer if the portion is a bit larger. We tried mixed shish, lamb could be marinated better. Chicken is on point. Salad is really great too. Will visit again

We were served led by Nevzat today and the quality of our service was amazing. Nevzat was very polite and patient. The food was served in an outstanding presentation and was very tasty. We have chosen this restaurant for the second time due to a family celebration and we are never disappointed! My husband even got a free bday chocolate cake ! So friendly atmosphere. We will be back again.

My table started with 1 x Mix Cold Mezes 1 x Mix Hot Mezes Then I had the mixed kebab Safe to say, that I should have rolled out of this fantastic venue!! As with all Turkish food, the starters were the main attraction. Fantastic cold meze, lovely bread. Mains were great too and the staff friendly. Recommend!

We went for the bottomless brunch – you have 2 hours and the options are beers, wine or prosecco. The servers were lovely and the set 2 course meal had plenty of vegetarian options. It was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Great service, great food, had the mixed chicken kebab, a little expensive but you do get a lot of chicken. Service charge included, would recommend as a nice meal out.

Excellent! We loved our meal. The starters were delicious (we had the chicken wings, tomato soup and the Baba ganoush - one of the best we've ever had!) and the sea bass as a main. Some really delicious dips were on the house. The service was incredibly quick and friendly. The restaurant is nicely decorated, in good taste, and clean. We'll be back!

When we arrived the restaurant was very busy which would indicate it is a popular place to eat in Stevenage. The menu was interesting and varied and I felt there was a good choice for anyone visiting for dinner. We had two courses, starters and main and the food was very tasty. I would say that the pricing was high end for the food that we had but it was tasty and we enjoyed everything we had. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. A down side was the the restaurant is very noisy, it was pretty much full and there was music playing which added to the high level of noise making conversation quite difficult. I would recommend this restaurant but be prepared to pay a higher then average price for your food.

Great Food, But Rushed Dining Experience I recently dined at Tarla Turkish restaurant in Stevenage, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The food at this place is undeniably amazing, but unfortunately, the overall dining experience was marred by a sense of being rushed by the staff. Let me start with the positive aspects. The culinary offerings at Tarla are nothing short of delightful. From their flavorful kebabs to the delectable baklava for dessert, the food was a true highlight of our visit. Each dish was prepared with care and tasted authentic, reminding me of the wonderful flavours I've experienced in Turkey. However, the issue arose when it came to the timing of our meal. We were allocated a two-hour time allowance, which seemed reasonable at first. However, it became apparent that the staff was in a hurry to turn over the tables. To my disappointment, the manager began clearing our table after just 1 hour and 20 minutes, before some of us had even finished our food, let alone our drinks. This rush to vacate the table certainly put a damper on what could have been a fantastic dining experience. We felt pressured to finish quickly, and it's safe to say that this impatience truly spoiled the meal for us. Dining out should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and it's unfortunate that we didn't get to savor our meal at our own pace. In summary, Tarla Turkish restaurant excels in the culinary department, offering some of the most delicious Turkish cuisine in Stevenage. However, the management's insistence on adhering strictly to a two-hour dining limit and their eagerness to clear the table prematurely left us feeling hurried and dissatisfied. I hope the restaurant can strike a better balance in the future, allowing customers to fully enjoy their meals without feeling rushed.

Food was good and promptly served

This restaurant is very expensive, food and drinks are much more expensive comparing to other restaurants. I won't recommend it. They charge £ 3.75 for a single small bottle of coke.

Wow woww it was amazing, Seriously they know what to do. Me and my wife we went there for dinner and it was one of the best experiences i have ever had.The service, staff, food, drinks and everything about this restaurant is wonderful. I had tarla special which was a mix meat platter and I love it. My wife had chicken shish it was soft and yummy. The drinks were also great specially the cocktails. We ordered lychee martini, mojito, and frozen daiquiris all of them was amazing. From now on this restaurant will be my favourite restaurant to go.i would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine.

We went as a group of work colleagues, 17 in total for the first time. The food was wonderful and the staff really good, professional and courteous, especially Pinnar. The communication beforehand in booking via email was so efficient. We’re going back again soon!

First time visit on a whistle stop tour of Stevenage. Clearly a very popular venue, full of birthday parties and laughter. Food is ok, not fantastic but not horrible either. Just a really fun place to eat!

Never had an issue with this place. Lovely whether you dine in or takeout. Went for a birthday meal and didn't disappoint. Be prepared for a hefty bill at the end thoe! £100 for 2 drinks, 2 starters and 2 main courses. I would say overall worth it however :) Also had free tea while we waited !

I’ve been here with a group of friends,very nice ambience. We had a mix hot meze to share which everyone enjoyed,very good selection i loved their borek. For main course i had the lamb shish which was perfectly cooked,tender and juicy. Very good service and portion size,overall a good experience. I will definitely return !!

Ate here twice already - as we normally go here or the other Turkish restaurant whenever we meet our friends here in Stevenage. The staff are the friendliest bunch and the food is exceptionally very good. The Chicken Beyti was massive as far as I can remember, and the mocktails were superb. It is a family friendly and kid-friendly place. Truly a gem in the High Street!

Lovely atmosphere nice location we enjoyed the food despite the stater coming out wrong mains were very good only slight issue we had to ask for extra drinks each time but overall good experience.

This was a Father's Day treat to myself. Absolutely packed because of the 'special' day. Ok food and service. I'm fairly sure my calamari was cooked from frozen. Expensive IMO.

Dined there with the family, we had no booking and Pinnar our waitress (I hope I got your name right, if not sorry) she was very accommodating from the minute we arrived. She got us a table even though the restaurant was packed.Very fresh meat platter, tasty and Juicy. Salad was given on the house, what a nice touch. Chicken liver was nicely done with spice and butter. Seafood casserole was another tasty dish, selection of seafood platter was also nicely done. Great selection of wines. The room was buzzing, what a great atmosphere. Service was great. Staff was very professional. Well done, it’s the best Turkish food outside of Turkey. If you haven’t been you have to go. I will highly recommend this place.

We went as a group for a pre theatre dinner. Service was good and attentive. Food was delicious especially the seafood casserole and mixed kebab. No room for dessert, the portions were so generous. Looking forward to visiting again.

I been many times here before, last time I been friday night everything was amazing like tarla speacial including lamb chicken ribs wings really its delicious and I tried homemade baklava , is coming with vanilia ice cream really it is so good and staff...

Tasty food and good vibes overall

This is my favourite restaurant in England (I tried a few). The food is superb, super tasty. The starters are very good too I recommend the mushrooms and the halloumi. For the mains my husband loves lamb casserole and I order one that it is not anymore in the menu, but they do it for me if they are not too busy, actually they know what I want before I order. For the desserts they have the best baklava that I ever ate in my life, so, so, so good. The staff are so friendly, helpful and nice and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
