Truly terrible, my wife asked for a 'ploughman's jacket potato ' got a jacket potato with at least two tablespoons of Branston pickle and no cheese, service was slow and chaotic I had a chicken and bacon baguette, and if there was any bacon in there, I missed it. Meanwhile the kitchen was filled with loud conversation/argument at all times. Also, as a lot of other people have said, check your bill carefully as they seem to have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to adding up. We were smoothly overcharged, and we made them check the bill 3 times before they came up with the right answer. Plenty of other options on the street, avoid this one.

Being the only Indian restaurant in area, they seem to think service and quality doesn’t matter.Popped in for a dinner, kinda wish I hadn’t as we went in, it took quite a while for any one to come over , because the staff were busy chatting and texting on phones.Eventually we were greeted with a grunt no smile, and directed if you can call it directed to a table it was a point , with out even looking at us.The food when it eventually came out appeared to have been microwaved as it was hot on out side but cold inside, the sauce was bubbling around edges of dish but Luke warm every where else.

Went here with my wife on a Thursday around 5.30. The place was empty on arrival. The youngish waiter like other people have already said was very pushy and shouldn't have been taking orders. Although looking at him a wash and a change of clothes would have been a start. My prawn puri was awful the puri not bad but the prawns in sauce was like prawns in orange water. Onions were raw in both main meals and the sauces were made from jar paste. Got sick of hearing the microwave pinging prob defrosting meat. Absolutely terrible from start to finish. Go to the taj mahal in Lochgilphead much better and they are happy and smiling throughout.

Had a carry out last night and dont think we will be rushing back!!!!!!!!! We are normally pleased with our food but last night was horrendous, The food was to ready for a pick up at 7pm,(I think our food had been ready way before 7pm) when we got the food home, the naan bread was stone cold and the food was luke warm, thank the lord for plates being heated up in the oven. The guy front of house was weariing a pair of jeans and a dirty tee shirt as was the guy who came out the kitchen. There was too much sauce compareed to the amount of meat, and te sauces were pretty tasteless. I'm thinking here must be new people n here and its not for te better, so very disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed at the Anchor Hotel again, 30 seconds walk from this Indian.Ate here last August, don't be put off by the outside of the restaurant or the basic deco inside, the food is absolutely delicious and cooked to order. When we came last year they were not licensed to sell alcohol and it was soft drinks only, they now sell beer and wine. We enjoyed the food and ended up taking over it half of it home and eating it the next evening back in Leicester ! I did find it a bit on the expensive side but I guess the owner or owners need to cover their costs and make some profit. All in all, great food and service, recommended if you are staying in Tarbert and fancy a ruby.

The best curry house in Tarbert (also the only one). Very fresh tasting curry with good flavours and cooked to whatever spice level you request. Ample portions. Although vegetable side dishes are optimistically priced. Goid views of the harbour. Some reluctance to accept cards despite notice on door. Cash is far more welcome.

We have just eaten in the Tarbert Tandoori. We hesitated about going in because there were no customers in there and it didn’t look very smart inside. However we got a very good welcome and a really excellent curry. The food was freshly cooked (we could hear it being cooked) and tasted fresh too. If you are looking for a good curry then do go in! If you are looking for vegetarian food then do go in, they have a big range. Please note that the restaurant has a licence now and sells wine and beer.

Firstly, I hate it when a restaurant that advertises visa etc tells you that their card machine is not working today and directs you to a cash machine 400 yds away. Not cool! It also felt as though we were slightly overcharged and I found a few extra pieces of chicken in my fried rice that felt a bit alien to the dish. Sorry. It was ok but it didn’t feel right.

We were staying in the Starfish rooms and arrived to late and most restaurants were just closing so decided to eat at the Tarbert Tandoori which stopped serving at 23:00. First impressions was it was a little tired looking but were greeted by the friendly owner who seemed to be doing all the service but were quickly given a table and noticed no alcohol in the chill cabinet so asked if they were licensed and told no so my partner went to the local co-op for a couple of beers. Things just got better from then on in with great food and service and I mean very good food and the price cheaper than we pay usually elsewhere. We would highly recommend the food at the Tarbert Tandoori and would certainly go back again.

We went to Kintyre and it was shut. We managed to catch this place open, eventually, but for a while we wished we hadn't. We were told we couldn't have naan bread because the oven wasn't ready, and there was a general air of not having expected anyone to come in. Although we were almost the only customers, and had only one course, the food took around 50 minutes to arrive. When it came (with chunky chapatis instead of naan) it was good - but it's just too long to wait. God knows how they manage when they're busy.

The only Indian restaurant in Tarbert, this little place will be a delight for curry lovers. It has just changed management and, as yet, does not have a license to sell liquor so you can bring your own. Starters are freshly prepared and taste wonderful. The sauce with my dish was a bit on the hot side for me so the chef did another one. This too was a trifle hot so I asked for a dish of yoghurt on the side. While I was eating this yet another, milder sauce arrived. What restaurant would go out of it's way to accommodate a client? Well done.

The place is slightly let down by its decor, but in my opinion the quality of the food more than makes up for this. I will certainly be back and will try the Thai food next time (they have 2 chefs, 1 for each type of food).

Tarbert is a tiny town so an Indian restaurant seems like a bit of a novelty. We were here right after it opened and the owner has plans for making it a very special place. The food was good and reasonablly priced.

Although this is a very basic takeaway with a few tables it is worth a try. Our rather in adventurous meal of onion Bhaji, chicken tikka masala and special mix biyriani was served quickly and was tasty and fresh. The naan bread was particularly good. Not licensed but okay to take your own

They don't serve alcohol. But the food is amazing. Also cash only establishment! Very unusual but memorable.

I had set my mind on having an Indian meal as the hotel restaurant was booked. This Indian was just along the street.I was not adventurous in my ordering - Chicken Tikka starter, popadom and chicken madras main course. The waiter was a very pleasant young man, the food arrived promptly - maybe helped by the fact that there was no other customer in the place. Apparently they had recently been shut for a few weeks so I suppose the locals had stopped trying to order takeaways but I'm sure it will pick up again. It was early evening and I expect it would have filled up later on.All in all, pretty much what I expected and if you are looking for a basic Indian meal in the "British" Indian tradition, you will find it here.Don'd forget to bring your own alcohol - they don't have a licence!

First time here and it'll be the last. I paid £7.50 for 4 scraggy bits of chicken pakora. Was told that my main came with rice (it didn't), was charged £2.50 for a glass of Coke (cans of Barrs cola). The place was overrun with bluebottles, and there were dead insects on the ledge next to us. It wasn't worth the money I paid. We will not be returning!

Wasn't expecting such delicious curry in Campbeltown. We had the Naga lamb, achari chicken, prawn biryani, saag panir, peshwari naan and poppadoms. Big chunks of meat and panir, punchy spice on the lamb, lovely sourness on the achari. We polished everything off - 100% recommend. Thank you!
