Ordered half a lobster to go with my meal (as an extra) worst I’ve ever had, chewy, so much it was inedible. Very disappointing as have been looking forward to eating here, complaint did no good at all…… Won’t return, wouldn’t recommend

Great food, large portions and great quality. I had a seafood boil and I loved it. Others had the steak taco and a honey chicken. Frogs legs and belly pork bits. Everything was fab, but some thought the garlic bread was a little salty. Staff were good and very helpful. We ate of the main menu but were told the vouchers couldn't have been used off the specials menu. Seems daft as someone paid 75 for a 75 voucher but it didn't effect us. I would recommend here and we are planning our next trip

We absolutely LOVE Tarantinos. We have visited this restaurant on 4 occasions and we have enjoyed our food and experience each time. Firstly the food with it being steak and lobster is suitably priced in mine and my husbands opnion. These are meats that are a luxury to have therefore you should expect to spend around £50 per head if you would like to eat freshly sourced, quality lobster and prime cuts of steak. Not to mention the skill and experience of the chef to prepare lobster, loungistines, mussles, crabs, scallops etc etc etc. I agree that there can be a wait for your food however this has never been an issue to us. The ambience of the restaurant is lovely, and we feel if you are out for a nice meal than it is an opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and chat to each other. Because the food is always worth the wait we would prefer to have a wait and the food be the standard it is. Me and my husband feel the fillet steak is the best we have ever had, and every item on your plate is tasty from the home cooked chip to the dressing on your salad. Desserts are also to die for. I've always found the young waitresses that work in there to be pleasant and helpful and hard working. I wouldn't let the reviewes put you off trying. If you like quality steak and seafood you are in for an amazing meal. I would go and make your own mind up about the other comments and reviews, some of which I feel are unfair.

Second time and brought friends with us from Scarborough, Amazing meal fantastic atmosphere,The 2 girls behind the bar were outstanding, this place is amazing through out highly recommed, if you like seafood & steak you will defo not be disappointed.

Booked here with my wife for Valentines Day. Received an e-mail confirming our reservation. Upon arriving we were told they had been trying to contact me for a deposit ( I had no missed calls) and that they could sort us a table but there would be a wait. We were sat and not offered a drink. 25 mins later we had a table for 2. Decor was nice, love songs in the background and balloons scattered around made a nice atmosphere. After a further 20 minutes I flagged down a waitress for a drink. Wife ordered diet coke and I ordered a pint of Moretti. I watched as the barmaid poured my pint from a 4 pint jug next to the tap. The beer was warm and totally flat. It felt like it had been sat there hours. I changed to a bottled lager instead. Eventually we placed an order for food. I ordered mussels for a starter which were fresh and cooked well but there was no bowl for the empty shells. No proper napkin - instead a small red one for drinks. Wifes belly pork was tasty but luke warm. Mains arrived and food was cooked perfectly but for some inexplicable reason my half lobster was covered in melted cheddar cheese (no mention of this on the menu). By this point I'd waited 1 hour 40 so didn't return it as I didn't want to wait again. Really spoiled the meal. The couple next to us eventually lost their patience and complained. They waited 2 hours for their food and when it came it was also luke warm and the steak was well overcooked. We settled up £127 for 2 beers, a diet coke, 2 starters and 2 mains. This place is far from cheap and absolutely not worth what we paid. I won't be going back. Lots of new waitresses working by the looks of it, the one we had was lovely and did everything she could but you could see she was struggling and carrying the place.

Turned up and stood around for ten mins being ignored then told to go and sit in an awful waiting room and then the food took forever to turn up and the lobster was chewy and told someone said that last week so obviously nothing new at this place. Didn’t even get given a decent deduction. Staff are rude in front of customers. Would not recommend at all

Absolutely terrible service. 1.5hrs wait for food then when it arrives it wasn’t the right order, had to wait for the correct food to come and when it did it was overcooked. Avoid at all costs, what a terrible ‘restaurant’.

This restaurant is has good decore. Service was great from John. The food selection was great from steak, seafoods and street foods only wish I could have tried more. food was outstanding very arty too.

Went to tarantinos for the first time today .absolutely amazing food well presentation good amount of food From going in we were made welcome by staff . If ypu haven't been get ypur selves booked in ,definitely be back .

Mesa reservada, llegó al restaurante a las 7. 20 pm para una mesa precocinada para las 7. 30 pm , sin registro de reserva , pero sí tenían una mesa libre para nosotros , pidieron bebidas y comida , servidor tuvo que comprobar orden dos veces , preguntado a las 8 . 30 pm cuánto tiempo más quedaría la comida y le dije a una mesa más que se sirviera antes que nosotros y estaban emplatando allí arriba, una pareja en la mesa a nuestro lado había esperado 2 horas y media para que se sirviera la comida, preguntó de nuevo a las 8 . 40 pm como todavía no hay comida, así que a las 8. 50 pagó por bebidas factura y se fue definitivamente no recomendaría este lugar servicio es absolutley diabólico

Los precios parecían un poco altos, pero en realidad la calidad y cantidad de los alimentos superó nuestras expectativas más salvajes Lo recomendaría encarecidamente - varios de nuestros miembros declararon que no les gustó la comida marina mientras estaban allí - El chef hizo algunas comidas fabulosas sin pescado

Como siempre obtuvimos la MEJOR COMIDA, las bebidas eran FUERTES! Y el ambiente era, como siempre, jodidamente BRILLANTE ✌🏽❤️ LO MEJOR COMO SIEMPRE ✌🏽

Absolutamente horrenda desde el principio 'esperó tres horas para la comida, no hay suficiente personal para satisfacer las necesidades de los clientes, cuando la comida finalmente llegó lo único que estaba caliente en el plato eran las patatas fritas, , pedidos mezclados , la decoración no es totalmente para una piel de restaurante corriendo por las paredes, las instalaciones sanitarias eran compartidas no es que me importe que, pero no hay toallas de mano desechables o secador de manos, una casa sostienen toalla de mano para el restaurante completo ' definitivamente no recomendaría o volvería a visitar

Fuimos a una comida woucher fue horrible el tiempo de espera fue terrible nunca más de lejos la peor comida que hemos tenido definitivamente no volver

We had a lovely seafood afternoon tea with Prosecco. I came across this restaurant on Wowcher I would definitely recommend it lovely meal and a nice atmosphere

Not a good experience got there at 6.45 didn't get served with a drink till 30 minutes later can't rate the food because after 1 hour and 30 minutes of no food my partner told them to cancel our order

We booked after looking on trip advisor for somewhere to eat whilst visiting from Liverpool for the Sunderland match. I went off the good reviews and this did not disappoint, we loved watching all the food come out looking delicious, my fiancés scallop, prawn & mussel pot he said was absolutely unreal along with my king prawn bruschetta. The sirloin and lobster is unbelievable, it was my first time trying lobster and I now worry I will have to drive back to Sunderland every time I want lobster. Also the cheesecake is 10/10 especially the crunchy biscuit (caramelised/ biscoff). Negative reviews relating to decor etc are pointless, you don’t go to eat to look at the decor, which I actually loved! It matches the menu and had such an intimate vibe.

Really looked forward to the Boil after reading excellent reviews but was disappointed that some ingredients were missing, see picture. There were no potatoes or smoked sausage. But the seafood itself was amazing!

Visited today for restaurant week, food beautiful so tasty and presented great! Had mussels for starters and seafood boil main bargain at £20 in restaurant week!! Lovely polite staff nothing too much trouble even though busy!

Having dined here before having excellent food with value for money and excellent customer service we decided to pop in for food. The staff were friendly and courteous we noticed a few tables of customers in the restaurant and ordered our starters, and main. We waited for around 45 minutes and then they brought the wrong food. After another 10 minutes I asked where ours were they were apologetic and said it should be out soon. It finally arrived didn't look appealing and it was tasteless lacked seasoning. I couldn't eat it. Mains arrived awful presentation! Food was mainly cool but new potatoes were piping hot no seasoning or butter. Again lacking taste. Boiled over cooked carrots and sliced corn on the cob with salmon no flavour. I felt sorry for the girls front of house. I ate a few mouth fulls. My friend did not eat any and sent it back. Unfortunately different chef apparently from our last visit. Very disappointing and definitely will not return. The menu is also being condensed to suit the chefs abilities.

WOW! been wanting to try here for a while and was lucky enough to go with my partner! warm welcome and great service the 2 course special was fantastic with fantastic choice and some of the best seafood pasta i have tasted :) cant wait to go back

Had the seafood platter and king prawn loaded chips - Devine ! Loads on both, fresh and great value for money, lovely atmosphere.

I really wanted to like this place. Sadly I can't recommend it. Our starters took 30 minutes to arrive. Mains took another hour. We were told 3 times that they were being plated up and were warm rather than hot when they arrived. Steaks did not have an accompanying sauce despite being advertised as such. I had beef which came with stuffing (?). No horseradish was available. Roast potatoes were burnt. Our 3 year old grandson was with us and wasn't having a starter. The waitress asked if we wanted his main to come with our starters, we said yes. It didn't arrive until our mains came, 1 and a half hours after arriving. I had to prompt the staff to this as he has autism and was really hungry. It was at this point we were told for the third time it was being plated up. Sadly we won't be returning.

It was pretty quiet In the restaurant today we arrived at 12 15 for our booking today yet our main courses took an hour and a quarter to arrive , people arriving after us got served before us main course wise We ordered 2 steaks and a Sunday dinner fathers deal deal the one starter took so long to arrive No starter option available if you got steak which was disappointing……so waiting on a steak for hour and a quarter was a very long wait Food was spot on though and staff were very friendly ordered a sea food platter to take away which was beautiful Really did enjoy but the wait times have really put me off a return visit unfortunately

Had heard good things about this place and wasn’t disappointed. Food was amazing, cooked to perfection and large portions. Had our very fussy 11 year old with us and he ate all of his main, which is a first as he usually leaves some. Will definitely be back.

Just visited last night, first time here won't be last. Me and my hubby ordered from early bird menu 2 courses for £17 . Hubby had sausage and black pudding stack and chicken tikka kebab. I had prawn cocktail followed by seafood pasta. My seafood pasta was amazing honestly the best I've tasted huge prawns and mussels a plenty. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his and some of mine too!! The girls were lovely couldn't do enough for you, we will most definitely be back!!

Fantastic service from the staff, the food was served with a smile and was delicious, I would recommend it to anyone. We were so pleased with the food we have booked again with more friends

We've booked for our staff night out on Thursday 2nd of February. The booking experience was great, they accomodated our table of 13 with ease. The staff were attentive and efficient. After ordering we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. A good time was had by all. Keep up the good work.

Been a few times always exceptional value, and exceptional service never been for Sunday lunch and guess what you didn't disappoint absolutely beautiful thank you again

Whent thinking this was a good restaurant after seeing reviews. How wrong we were. Tables set up with papper napkins obviously cheapest could find. Service ok. Food came out ,looked lovely. Left my chicken, rock had both bits, pork ok, beef loverly, however everthing was cold including meat. Carrots hard, roast pots nice but also cold. Atmosphere not good at . Very disappointing first and last time.

By far the best meal, we have ever had, Both Quality and Service out of this World, Recommended by the Waitress, We chose ' Top Boy' from the Board Menu, The Meal was Just Perfect

Finally got round to trying out this place and WOW. Met by a lovely young lady called Tegan who looked after us throughout our visit. We opted for the early bird menu - absolutely top quality and very generous portion size. My salmon and prawn fish cake starter and Micks sausage and black pudding stacks were so tasty and then came the mains. The Caribbean Burger was juicy and so big! Micks tikka chicken kebab was cooked to perfection and the choice of sides means we’ll have to return several times to sample everything. Mick had to attempt a chocolate fudge cake - luckily I was able to help him. A must go place 👍

Had my daughters birthday meal here ,absolutely outstanding food and absolutely outstanding staff and service!! Host Jolene and everyone made my daughters birthday amazing and such a special evening,couldn’t have wished for a better night,thank you all so much ,can’t wait to return ❤️ps music was fab 😘

Had high expectations for this place after reading about it on their Facebook page, but we were left thoroughly disappointed. Staff were friendly enough, but service times were lackluster (Approaching 3 hours for a starter + main). Seems very much like a 'You know the owner or you don't' sort of venue, and if you don't then don't expect them to go out their way. They seem to struggle with large parties, then blame this if you have to wait... As if you're meant to nod and agree its fine. Anyways... starters were good when they finally arrived. The main was pretty dire though... lobster roll served in one of those floury circle buns that are more akin to what you'd find at a burger van... very wet/soggy with shell inside. I'd of explained this to the waitress but her head was in the clouds, and after seeing the owner have an argument with another table - I think it was best to just pay and chalk it off as a bad experience.

Came here on Friday for a meal together and were delighted. The restaurant itself and service were brilliant, and the food was absolutely perfect. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Fantastic all around!

We visited here to celebrate our anniversary, first impressions of the seating arrangements feels cozy and well decorated. Our drinks order was taken promptly. I got a cocktail which was the hanky panky it’s not the best cocktail I’ve had however certainly wasn’t the worst....
